Whenever someone describes the use of vinegar in a cleaning context, assume they mean white vinegar unless specified otherwise.

Cleaning a machine's water pump and tubes with apple cider vinegar would be a mistake.
When in doubt.. ask. :D

I know my single cup one is good for me, I typically do a cup of coffee in the morning while eating breakfast and cocoa and sleepytime tea at night.

Alton Brown said something along the lines that the best place to store white vinegar is in with the other cleaning supplies.  :D  (As a foodie, he recommends using any vinegar other than white for recipes.)

White vinegar can also be a useful and safe weed killer.  Evergreen trees are prone to having little grass and lots of weeds underneath them, but pouring a little vinegar onto the roots of the weeds kills them and helps the tree -- they like the soil a little acidic.  :)

With so many tiny critters in my house, I almost never use anything but white vinegar to clean. We buy it by the gallon, and honestly I've been considering seeing if I can get it by the drum.

This is the Internet. Of course you can get vinegar by the drum.

Every Swedish newspaper today (except some very local ones) plus the tv morning news are topped by the same news story: our boys beat Italy in Milan at the two-match play-off game and are through to next year's football world cup in Russia. :-)

Italy hasn't missed out on a world cup since 1958 (which was played in Sweden, by the way: we lost to Brazil in the finals) and our young team had seen both Zlatan and another key striker, Kim Källström, retire (though not from club football) during the last twelve months. Beating the Italians is a real statement of strength, in a qualifiers game. :)

I know I am the only one (probably) to give a shit but Yokozuna Harumafuji hit another rikishi (sumo wrestler) over the head with a bottle so hard the poor man had to spend time in hospital. As a Yokozuna (highest rank in Sumo, you can not lose it unlike other ranks that you can lose if you do poorly) he is expected to always act with class and decorum. And this is.. really unforgivable. Broke my heart when I saw it this morning, I always liked his style but.. this.. I can't for the life of me see how he can remain active after this.

Another victim of Roy Moore comes forward. He denies the allegations, saying that he does not know the woman.  But, she has a yearbook, that has a short little message and signature from him.

Also, it appears that when he was in his thirties, he was apparently banned from a local mall for continually hitting on teenage girls.

Four senators have pulled their endorsements for Roy, and many more (Democrat and Republican alike) are calling for him to drop out of the race.  Which, according to Roy, he has no intention of doing.

However, if he should somehow manage to win the race in Alabama, GOP leaders have already threatened to expel him.

Another shooting rampage has just happened, in a rural area of northern California called Rancho Tehama.  The shooter was reportedly killed by police and was described as a known felon in his 50's by someone who knew him.  This witness and some others who knew the man had reported to authorities that he was shooting off huge numbers of rounds lately and they felt threatened by him, but apparently nothing was done.  An unknown number of students at the Corning Union Elementary School District were wounded and five people killed at various locations around the area.

An old ruling of his where he was the sole dissenting vote in a rape case is under investigation. He claimed that the 4 year old couldn't fear injury when raped by a 17 yo.

Why do most of them go after little kids. It's already horrible what they do, no matter who they kill in their madness but why children?

Because it hurts other the most, and like a serial killer putting non a grotesque display it guarantees that they will be noticed and given their 15 minutes of infamy, that people will remember their names.

I wasn't aware of that. Hopefully they will.

That depends on how badly the districts are gerrymandered.

Yeah, a great way to spend over $100 million dollars for something that drove great divides in the nation. Yes, it is not bind, as it was a survey. Not one of the gutless bastards will do anything about it, and simply wait until the electorate forgets about it.

It was not a compulsory vote, so it is reflective of those that decided to take part. I am not sure how many people who are eligible to vote actually took part in the survey.

Unlike the USA, our electoral boundaries are handled by a non partisan government department at Federal and state levels. The state level bureaucracy handles the local council boundaries too. No political party directly influences the boundaries, and any signs of overt tampering are dealt with harshly. Mainly due to the combined efforts of the both major parties in the past to gerrymander the boundaries, measures were put in place to make sure that didn't happen again. Also, here is Australia, voting is compulsory, always done on a Saturday and the polling booths are run by the Australian Electoral Commission, or the state equivalent in the case of a state election.

I am really happy that the survey results came back in favour of changing the wording of our marriage act. Imagine if they just did the same thing the last time it was changed. The PM & Attorney General decided to make the wording specific to Man & Woman, without even consulting other sitting members of Parliament, yet it can't be changed back without doing hideously expensive and decisive campaigns for something they are not honour bound to do anything about.

I think the BBC reported it at just under 80% of total voters. Fairly significant numbers at any rate.

Oh, and then we get shit like this being proposed because some people knew which way the surtvey was going to go.

Note: There are two major parties in Australia. The Liberal Party (Right wing/Conservative) and the Labour Party (Left Wing)  Please dont mistake our Liberal Party for being like Liberals in the US. There are more like Republicans, only a little more human.

Well, if that is true, then I am very impressed with the voting public. I still don't hold out much hope for the politicians, as they only give a stuff when it is leading up to an election. The rest of the time, they just do whatever the hell they want to do. Pricks.

Been following the gay marriage thing in Australia for awhile now, and yeah.

79.5% Voter turnout.

61.6% said 'Yes'
38.4% said 'No'
0.2% Invalid Votes

On the topic of Electorates they're pretty consistent with most electorates reporting around the average.
There's a few that are hard 'YES' seats.
But out of the 150 electorates, 133 voted Yes... meaning an actual electoral majority of 89% voted Yes.

New South Wales (The State with Sydney in it) had the least support with an overall state vote of 57.8%
Think the electorate of Watson was the lowest with only 30.4 voting Yes... but could be wrong.

Leki

Stupid inability to edit post xD
Blaxland, New South Wales was the worst at 26.1% voting yes, meaning 3/4 people voted "No."
I've collected the state/electorates that said "No" into a percentage below;
West Sydney, Country Queensland, and two pocket electorates in Victoria.

Banks 44.9 (NSW)
Barton 43.6 (NSW)
Bennelong 49.8 (NSW)
Blaxland 26.1 (NSW)
Chifley 41.3 (NSW)
Fowler 36.3 (NSW)
Greenway 46.4 (NSW)
McMahon 35.1 (NSW)
Mitchell 49.1 (NSW)
Parramatta 38.4 (NSW)
Watson 30.4 (NSW)
Werriwa 36.3 (NSW)

Bruce: 46.9 (VIC)
Calwell 43.2 (VIC)

Groom 49.2 (QLD)
Kennedy 46.7 (QLD)
Maranoa 43.9 (QLD)
