Bio:  You would think that Everleigh’s parents would have been big time hippies, but they aren’t.  They are mildly moderate Midwesterners.  Utterly bland really.  Like most Midwesterners they were terrified when their only daughter went off to college at the University of California at Berkley and it turns out they were right to be terrified.  Their nerdy and socially awkward daughter returned an extroverted, tattooed, lesbian, new-ager.  It led to quite a few fights and many tears.  Everleigh’s parents eventually came around.  They may not like or understand her choices, but it is clear she is happy and that is hard to argue with for any parent worth their salt.  There are still awkward family dinners and holidays with the extended family can be downright painful, but Everleigh loves her family and continues to hope they will come to understand her.  Everleigh gets along well with her two brothers who knew well before her parents that Everleigh liked girls.

Everleigh graduated from Berkley with a degree in Geology and moved to Chicago when she took a job as a LiDAR operator.  She had received her SCUBA certification when in California and put that to use when her firm was hired to survey wreckage in Lake Michigan.  She has since been promoted to a Geospatial Analyst position.  It is better pay, but she does miss being in the field a lot.  Everleigh plans on staying in her current position for a couple of years for the experience and move on to a geologist or geochemist position.

Everleigh moved into Parker Commons a year ago.  She is a well-known face in the apartment building and around the neighborhood, making a point to help the older residents whenever she can, including checking in on them from time to time.  Some residents take advantage of her generosity, and her inability to say no to someone in need, but she doesn’t seem to mind. 

Generally friendly and outgoing, Everleigh can often be found at the Nuance Café for her morning coffee or Willy’s diner late at night when that pecan pie craving hits.  She likes places that feel comfy or have a positive vibe.  When the weather is nice she walks her cat Goblin in the afternoon.

Desired Plots: Romance is always a big want.  Monogamous or Polyamorous, I don’t care.  As long as there is romance, I am happy as a writer.  A mystery of some sort would be fun.  It can be big or small, criminal or simple misunderstanding.  Just something to be enthusiastic over.  Smut wise, I would love to have a roleplaying game night that ends in a night of passion.  It can lead somewhere or nowhere in the grand scheme of things, just something I have always wanted to write.

Bio: Lindsey was married at 20 and divorced at 22.  After many failed relationships, she finally admitted to herself that men were not what she was interested in.  Her parents practically disowned her.  Her sister is the only family she had until she met Simone.  Lindsey was just out of grad school and working for a suburban hospital when she met Simone, who was a decade Lindsey’s senior, a divorce herself and had a daughter, Janelle. 

Simone was head nurse.  Confident and strong and unabashedly gay. Lindsey fell in love with her easy.  Five years latter they were married and ten years after that Simone was dead.  Cancer. Left heart broken and with a teenage stepdaughter, life was suddenly very hard.  Harder than it had ever been.  If she hadn’t had Janelle in her life Lindsey may well have spiraled.  They leaned on one another and managed to stay a family in spite the pain, anger and sadness that threatened to swallow them daily.

Janelle is off to college now, Ohio State, and Lindsey could not be any prouder of her, but the penthouse apartment she rented with Simone, where they raised Janelle, feels very empty now. They used to throw parties for their friends and co-workers before Simone passed and after that there were soccer and softball parties and sleepovers and the occasional fight between Lindsey and her daughter. Now it is just silence. 

Lindsey often finds herself fighting off bouts of melancholy.  It seems the memories overtake you easier when you have nothing left to distract you.  Lindsey knows damn well she is slipping.  She drinks a little more often now to numb the pain of missing Simone and just doesn’t seem her old vibrant self.  Her stepdaughter has noticed and so have her friends and they have encouraged her to put herself out there again.  If only to meet new people and find her joy again.   

Desired Plots: Finding love again would be a long term plot that would be wonderful.  Some candid talk about depression and losing a loved one if someone is interested.  It can be a heavy subject, so I understand if it is too much of a trigger.  A fling with a younger woman (or two).

Bio: Born a first generation Korean-American in the heart of Chinatown, Manhattan, Nabi grew up as a studious youngling. She was urged by her parents to focus solely on her studies, not making too many friends throughout her high school career other than those she could spend time with while at school and text afterwards. It wasn’t often she was allowed to go out and spend time with friends instead of studying or helping her parents with their restaurant which they lived above. She learned about work ethic from a young age, however she also learned that she couldn’t completely be herself in front of her parents because they thought they had a perfect son, but in truth Nabi knew that she was trans. It was thanks to her friends at school that she felt comfortable enough to accept herself, living a double life between school and home.

When she graduated high school with a great deal of scholarships to the University of Illinois in Chicago, Nabi decided that it was time to come out to her parents before she left. She hasn’t been back to Manhattan since.

After receiving her masters in English Lit with a focus in creative writing, Nabi decided to stay in Chicago in her small studio apartment in Parker Commons. It was here that she felt safest. She spent summer nights with the windows open drinking coffee that was much too sweet for her own good writing between her weekly blog - centered around being a Transfem Korean - and the first draft for a novel. Bio:Charlie was born and raised in Chicago. His father, Daniel, raised Charlie by himself after his mother left him on Daniel’s doorstep when Charlie was two. The next time they ever heard of her was when getting the news that she had been hit by a bus and died several years later. His father works on the subway systems in town and taught Charlie the value of hard work.

He knew rather early that when it came to attraction that he had no preference on genitals, judging his attraction to others based on personality rather than gender. During his time off you can see him enjoying a good beer, dancing, or going for a walk/hiking. Sometimes he is outside of the apartments building something for his studio. He is rather friendly, but also doesn’t mind mixing business with pleasure and although it’s not a wonderfully kept secret, it’s overlooked due to the quality of work.

Bio: Harley was born in a small town on Iowa.  Her dad owned a comic book store and her mom was a dental hygienist for the town dentist.  There wasn’t much call for a comic book store in a small town. Her dad did some decent business online but money was always tight.  In a town that was very conservative and centered around agriculture and sports Harley was an oddball.  She listened to heavy metal, read comic books and dressed in black more often than not.  She stopped attending church in the sixth grade which quickly led to her being labeled such nice things like Jezebel, whore and devil worshipper.  You know all those supportive and self-affirming labels. 

The only thing that kept her sane in that backwards ass town was playing in the school band.  Harley, Quinn to anyone that mattered to her, loved music, in particular the drums.  The rhythm section in general was her jam, but there was something cathartic about wailing away on the drums that spoke to her.  She was another person entirely when she was playing.  The anxiety and uncertainty of adolescents and ostracization fell away and this vibrant and passionate girl shown through. 

Her first sexual experience was in band.  Samantha Meyers was a trumpet player with a biting wit and pretty eyes.  It wasn’t much more than a kiss, but that was all Quinn needed to know that she was one hundred percent into women.  Samantha’s family was super conservative and quickly gave Quinn the cold shoulder to distance herself from whatever was happening between them.  It stung to be shunned like that even if Quinn knew why Sam was doing it. 

By the time she was ready to graduate Quinn couldn’t wait to get out of that place and moved to Detroit. It wasn’t New York or LA, but it was a big enough city with a big enough music scene to give her the shot she wanted.  Without a lot of money or prospects she packed up her used drum kit and drove to Detroit.  She kicked around doing side hustles for a year until she got a job at Nuances and moved into a small apartment in Pacific Commons. She is still looking for a band and that elusive big break musicians are looking for,
