Yeah, this was a serious tactical mistake from him (only looking at its impact on his chances of getting re-elected here). :) It's going to strike hard at many of the very folks that make up his core fanbase - working class people, small- and middle-size businessmen and their employees and markets, even many farmers (because they could face trouble selling their produce). He just doesn't care about them, getting his new judge to the SC was more important. And the same day, he promises the biggest tax cuts in modern US history, according to himself. Right in the middle of an economic trough and with a pandemic raging - anyone who has a minimal grasp of economics will see that this can only lead to an increased sovereign debt load *and* serious cuts in services people really use, need and take for granted.

I was watching a guy being interviewed on BBC News an hour ago, a man who had been working in the Bush Jr West Wing (I don't recall his name, sorry) about the prospects of social distancing when people are working in the building - at the end of the conversation they asked him about this move from Trump which had gone public just before he came on air. He smiled and said: "It's almost like he's trying to lose!" :)

You know, I'm sure every adult here like myself has at one point just been like "If I could go back in time and stop myself from taking this job when I did. Would I?"

I do wonder if Trump could take that time travel trip... would he tell his past self to wait running for presidency, go for it, or just don't bother its not worth the stress? That said it could be interesting to see what his Past Self would think of seeing himself just four years into his future after taking the extremely stressful job when a global pandemic isn't involved.

The ioctors at the White House seem plainly to take Trump's own words as a key source for the condition of his health - his own ubjective impressions is what really counts, and what is being relayed by these docs to the public. It's quite unclear both

1) how and how much is Trumps's health actually being examined on a daily basis, apart from checking his pulse and saying "he is free from fever"?
2) when was the last time he was tested covid negative?
3) if he wants to go down to the Oval office - some of his close staff have said he's already been there, today or yesterday - what precautions are set up? Would he wear a face mask? Surely not. Is he required to wash his hands often? Probably not. Do they monitor if he would touch anything in the room?

This is sheer idiocy: he is moving around a live outbreak of a dangerous epidemic disease in the White House, he is still infected, perhaps suffering from pneumonia, and no one's in control.

He backtracked when he wanted to not answer a question. It was all "America is great, nothing is wrong" and "Oh, leery me accuse Biden and Harris of untrue things" and "here's a scary thing conservatives think is horrible even if it's BS". It's like a demonstration on how to gaslight.

Also her had no respect for the moderator, the rules, or his opponent, and it shows. Kamala used mom-voice at one point
