Higher classification. It could previously be considered a hate crime, depending on how local law enforcement view it and the state's laws. But now this makes it a higher classification outright. Hate crimes often depend on local laws and police and what they consider to be hate crimes. Which usually heavily revolve around bias. The FBI can decide to investigate if they feel local law enforcement are failing to do so properly.

As a Federal level crime the death penalty can be enacted whether the state in which the lynching happened has the death penalty or not.

Yep, and in his letter of resignation he's quite open that he's not seeing eye to eye with Trump on NATO, Russia, Syria and global strategy. So now we practically know Trump ignored the advice of his minister of defence (and of Pentagon?) over Syria.  Over stepping out of the Iran deal, too? :(

That’s just the house which was never not going to back Trump. The senate has not approved the wall yet and they need 60 votes to pass it. I can’t see democrats compromising on the point especially since Trump is going to be the one the blame lands on since he went from agreeing to sign the package to pulling out of it. I also take it as another sign of how thin skinned he is as he only pulled back when fox and members of the conservative media began to criticize him .
