The pro-Navalny protests in Russia are huge, the biggest demonstrations in a decade. Police have detained over 3,000.

Protests in Novosibirsk are very big.

TheGlyphstone

You are our eyes on the spot for this Tsarita. Is this a big deal to have so many people protesting Putin, or do you think it'll die down and go away?

Haibane

The Belarus protests are still continuing though the western press has stopped covering it, which I think is wrong.

Haibane

Ugh... the Chinese issue is getting nastier all the time. Governments continue to put on the pressure.

Bloody hell, its getting worse. I think only the Republican party can deal with these problems internally by getting rid of the lunatic fringe. First though they need to face up to the fact that it is a lunatic fringe.

They could have stopped it years ago. Now they're screwed.

I was referencing the QAnon issue specifically which has blown up in real terms in the last 6-12 months.

I don’t know. More are upset, by video of the supposed Putin Palace, than jailing of Mr Navalny. More protests come, this weekend I think.

Beorning

Oh crap.

Remember the women's protests in Poland, the ones that exploded 100 days ago when the puppeteerized Constitutional Tribunal made a verdict that tightened the abortion laws in Poland even more than ever? There was a lot of rage and protests, but things started to die down, as the verdict wasn't officially published in print. And that kept the verdict non-binding.

Well, the Tribunal finally published a full verdict, along with legal justification etc. And the Prime Minister proclaim the verdict will be officially printed, maybe even today.

So... things are going to explode again. We can expect yet another wave of protests and brutal actions by the police...

And of course, the tightening of the abortion laws now goes into full effect. This is monstrous...

I had to look that up and I am honestly impressed. If Mr Navalny is telling the truth, Mr Putin even does corruption and embezzlement more awesomely than anyone else. Though its also very easy to understand why people would be upset about it.

Putin isn't just evil, corrupt and a thug. He is very intelligent and very, VERY good at being evil, corrupt and a thug. No-one else in Europe would dare to have assassination as a state policy.

Trump was just inept and stupid. Putin is a whole order of magnitude more scary that Trump.

Police and bomb disposal teams were called to deal with and remove a suspicious package at the Wockhardt plant in Wrexham, North Wales, UK where the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine is produced. No injures and the package has been removed for investigation. Perhaps somebody who wanted to disrupt vaccine production?

This was posted on E even before I had seen it in the local media! The outcome is that the driver was jailed for 32 weeks for a combination of various offences.

I was amused by the local councillor Pat Karney saying that he had trashed the good name of Harpurhey. Harpurhey is actually one of the roughest parts of Manchester,

QAnon-believing Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene believes that the California wildfires were caused by a secret satellite space laser operated by the Rothschilds to make money off of the chaos.

I cringe whenever she says anything.  Not just because of the nonsense she says, but because her name before she was married was evidently Marjorie Taylor, which was also the name of one of my aunts before she was married, so this feels very close and personal.

They are two different people. Definitely.

If an MP said such things in the UK parliament their career would be over.

Oniya

Fifty Representatives have signed onto a resolution to expel her, and two think that that she should at least be censured.

Good news. Apart from the disgusting anti-Semitism, there should be no place in public office for looneys who believe in space lasers and other bullshit; this person cannot be relied on to make rational decisions on behalf of those they represent.
