@PilgrimogPain -- great pitch--I'm sold! Let's go with that, XD

@WritersBlockade-- how is this connection note for Rage?

🌸 Rage -- Evy has done scripted fights with Rage in the past. He was also at the one where her teammate, Master of Chaos, was killed due to an unfortunate accident. B(e) Humans disbanded a short while after that. But Malik knows what really happened. The public believes that Master of Chaos is in a rehab clinic.

Just to make it official, yes. This is good stuff. He's gonna rib her hard in between takes if they get put together again.

peeks in I may tentatively plant a flag for a gender bent Winter Soldier parody as a villain for hire, aka, Valkyrie (potential for a future redemption story in the works?).

She probably has a rather grand and bad back story which is about 70% falsified besides real bratva connections. MC could have been a Russian hitwoman playing as arm candy for one of Nina's guys in the kremlin 'til things went south for her, or a vet who was supposed KIA then passed on to the Russians and given the mind wipe & V treatment as per an underground deal Vought sanctioned for a villain arc.

Nowadays she makes some scary cameos so the good guys look better then spends an exorbitant amount of time drinking very expensive vodka and ogling strippers to keep her PTSD at bay. I'm torn about her actually being kind of nice behind the scenes or if she should just be thoroughly bitter about playing a stoic cold war trope without a raise in the last five years...

Every year she tries to get rebranded, and every year she gets smoke blown up her butt lol.

Exactly! They've been dangling that redemption arc over her head for years now and she still shows up just to be a baddie that everyone hates because they're "working through the logistics" of the new story. My girl is tired of this shit and it put a chip on her shoulder.

We could definitely use another "Villain" or two. Love the idea of holding a redemption arc over her too.

I've got her mostly worked out and ready to post tonight! Though I'll likely need some input re: sponsorships (if at all?) and will have a couple other things TBD.

@ Andronica -- this villain and arc redemption theme idea sounds pretty damn awesome too. So good, I wanna steal it lol. XD I won't! But it sounds so fun.

Well Rage has a villain presence on social media. Maybe a team-up?

Fiadh

Here's the rough CS (WIP)! I'm on the fence about her FC but, seeing as this is a parody, I might just leave it be...

Basic Information
Name: Katya Bennett
Role: Professional Villain
Alias: Valkyrie
Parody of: Winter Soldier
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Opportunist (pansexual)
Age: 34
Height/Build: 5'8, ~140lb of lean muscle with a few soft curves.
Hair/Eye Colour: Ash blonde & grey-blue eyes.
Faceclaim: ScarJo
Notable Features: A geometric tattoo on her left arm to complement the black chrome job on the right side.

Personality & History

Personality: When she premiered with Vought almost six years ago she was actually very personable. Despite the dark, stoic facade she put on, she always had a smile when the mask came off. She was the first one putting her ass on the line for a friend, no questions asked. Vought gave her a new lease on life, after all. These days she's significantly more surly and apathetic to fill in the Valkyrie sized chip on her shoulder. Her real full time job involves doling out stinging one-liners, babysitting the little shitheads Vought brings in each season, nicking the last doughnut from the break room as late breakfast after an explosive workout, and grumbling at her inept handlers vying to blow smoke up her ass. For all her rough edges she still has a nagging urge to do better as she tries not to succumb to that darkness. Vestiges of the determined, good person she used to be is holding out hope for her redemption arc, even if that voice has gotten progressively smaller over the years. If you're lucky you might be treated to her strange roundabout kindness.

Aspirations & fears: It was great being at the top. The silent antagonist, Queen of the Baddies. Although the novelty wore off during her second year in the role, and Kat wants so badly to have a rebrand that it's basically something she's willing to get at almost any cost. For the last five years Vought routinely puts it out on the line to keep her in check when she's getting antsy. Hell, she'd take an antihero role, too. But the longer she goes without her sought after arc makes her just that bit more jaded and while she wants to do better, she's afraid she's going to end up living that villain role for good, affected Russian accent and all.

Official Backstory: Born to a middling family from Brooklyn, Katya Bennett grew up with a mostly single mother who instilled in her a strong desire to protect others. As soon as she graduated high school, she joined up to serve which gave her a deeply satisfying sense of fulfillment for several years. Then during her third tour, things came to an abrupt halt when Kat's transport was hit by a rogue IED. Miraculously, she was the only survivor of her unit (thanks, V). Kat suffered severe injuries which she supposedly succumbed to. However, the doctor who deemed her KIA was a Russian agent. With a sliver of life left in her, she was ferried to a black site where they indoctrinated her fractured mind and turned her into a hitwoman for the Kremlin. She has a laundry list of war crimes under her belt.

Defining Moments & Skeletons: While the truth of Katya isn't so dastardly as her Vought backstory, she did in fact lose her arm (along with a chunk of her memory) during her third tour in Afghanistan. Vought was in the market for a new villain when the freshly debilitated Katya presented as the perfect lab rat for their sanctioned experiment. Her procedures were performed in Russia for liability reasons but entirely bankrolled by Vought under the table. They succeed in restoring some of her memory and her arm, all for the low, low price of becoming Valkyrie. It was a solid deal at the time besides her occasional dissociative fugue states. That's a totally normal side effect of their brain tampering, right? Right?

Kat's estranged Russian father is in fact connected to the Bratva. She'd hate for it to come bite her in the ass.

Abilities

Superpowers:

  • That Big Fuckoff Arm - The cybernetic prosthetic is purpose built by Vought to turn her into a real contender when she's toe to toe with other Supes. Due to the intricate nature of the haptic implants fused in to her arm, she has regained a semblance of sensation. The arm is forged from a ridiculously durable tungsten hybrid that can withstand extreme temperatures and beyond that, grants her an iron clad grip - handy when she's literally strong arming her way through 90% of her scenes. Taking a backhand from this shiny baby will put someone through the wall easy peasy.
  • Unbreakable - The alloy used to craft her Vought arm is also infused throughout her skeletal structure. So while an ill timed fireball can leave some nasty damage, she's safe from the squishy side effects of a 10 storey fall or a super powered haymaker to the jaw.
  • Enhanced Reflexes - Valkyrie has an extremely quick, adaptive fighting style that enables her to deflect blows or redirect things such as throwing knives with her metal arm.
Equipment:

  • Tactical Suit - Katya's outfit is nearly unrecognizable black tactical armour that the PR team gave a cyber facelift to along with a few form fitting adjustments. Her suit is made of extremely flexible and resilient material with kevlar properties which allows her to get maximum range and take damage with only a little dust to blow off afterwards. There is a thin metal breastplate tacked onto her chest as well for added support but let's be honest: it's for a target audience. Oh, and let's not forget her half-mask. Gotta keep that identity under lock and key.
  • Guns & Ammunition - Valkyrie carries an AK-12 assault rifle, MP-443 Grach handgun, and a combat knife tucked into her pants.

Skills:

  • She's a Machine - Valkyrie doesn't fly or do any of that fancy shit, really. Stamina though? She has it in spades. There is no stopping, no getting tired - probably as a big side effect of the V. She's very much about her own physical prowess amped up to 11 and takes a lot of pride in what her body can do, even if it's enhanced. Insisting on retakes of chase scenes across rooftops for that perfect shot is not out of the question. One might suspect she's an adrenaline junkie for the lengths she'll go.
  • One Woman Army - She is trained in and mastered a dozen styles of fighting from Systema to Krav Maga, along with an arsenal of weapons that she can bring to the fight with expertise bar none. More often than not though, she's playing metal fisticuffs with a hero or throwing in a trick shot that her counterpart can bounce back from for style points.

Weaknesses:

  • All My Friends Are Dead - Katya went through some real shit before Vought scooped her up. Although she only has piecemeal memories there isn't a lot keeping her from lapsing into PTSD, night terrors, fugue states etc, except for a nightcap of a controlled drug cocktail with a splash of vodka, of course.
  • That Big Fuckoff Arm... Again - It's no surprise Vought capitalizes on her disability. Because her prosthetic is Vought made, she would lose it if she ever breaks her contract. At the end of the day, without V, Kat is just a vet without her arm. She's deathly afraid of that looming, burdensome feeling of uselessness bearing down should she lose her role at Vought.
  • Good Dog - Years of yielding to a chain of command have made Kat dissociate from herself. She yearns for purpose and was so used to obediently falling in line with another person's moral compass rather than following her own that it has led to detrimental outcomes. Even now old habits die hard when she struggles to get a word in for her long awaited redemption arc.
  • Bottle Service - Maybe Katya is a closet high functioning alcoholic? Maybe you should mind your fucking business.

Connections
  • Most certainly the clean up crew.
  • Metalia could be a fun connection due to Katya's metal arm and she'd make a good recurring villain for the young heroine.
  • Team up with Rage TBD.

Extras
Theme Song: Killzone by Black Tiger Sex Machine

Corporate Sponsorships: TBD

Misc: Kat has quite the oral fixation which plays nicely into her sweet tooth. Usually off-screen she isn't without something like a twizzler or lollipop. It's also a great excuse to not talk to anybody if her mouth is conveniently busy.

Player goals

Looking to write a train wreck toeing the line of being almost unhinged, a barely leashed Vought attack dog, combined with a rebellious BAMF streak that is going to come at odds with her supervisors as of late. Kat wants her damn redemption arc! Throw something at her that will break the mould... or cement her into the Valkyrie role forever.

O/O's can be found here.

Love this character concept, how would you feel about doing a plot line where Faithmender(my character) who has some weight in Vaught and is perfect help for the redemption hero-arc rebranding(maybe with a born-again Christian vibe) would use that deep desire from the rebrand to illicit favors(sexual and otherwise) from Valkyrie.

Let me know what you think.

I don't see Katya's rebrand involving any religious flair, though she could certainly dip into illicit favours, blackmail, etc amongst members of Vought. After all she may very well do their dirty work (with or without knowing it).

As to sexual favours with Faithmender... Not sure how that'd fly because she's not one to relinquish control, so maybe if she was domming him on the down low?

Still working out her personality a bit and waiting for GM comments/approval but we can keep that on the table if she is accepted

She's approved. Put her in the thread.

@All I only have 2 sheets in the character thread at the moment. If you've done up a character sheet, and you're still interested in taking part, please copy your sheets  into the approved characters thread. All characters posted so far have been approved. Tomorrow I'll be messaging anyone who hasn't posted their sheet, or has otherwise informed me of their intentions to follow up.

For anybody else working on sheets, or thinking about applying, recruitment will be closing at the end of the week. Message me if you think you'll need more time than that.

I Just wasn't sure If I was approved or not and there wasn't a submission thread(or at least I didn't see one.)

@ffirepyre

Fiadh

Dropped her in the thread. :)

Should I source connections here (which might help keep it active for further recruitment) or should I move my inquiries to the Main OOC thread?

@ffirepyre

Yeah, I think I probably should have PMed people their approval status. It would be a lot clearer. I'll be doing that tomorrow if there's anyone still unsure. First time GM, so there's going to be a little bit of a learning process. Bear with me guys. ^^

I'm working out a Captain America parody that's not Soldier Boy. I promise that I can keep myself entertained lol

I don't know who this Muse person is, but if it explains away the voices in my head, then I'm all for it!

Anywhere you like.

P.S. I'm still slacking on the IC thread btw. The plan was to have it up today... But it's gonna have to wait now. Zzz

-makes grabby hands-

So... besties? Or given the parody nature would it be better if your Cap and my Kat did not get along?

I'm also ruminating on a fire powered hero to toss into the mix (Hot Shot is his WIP name), but we'll see how the turn out is by the weekend.

I am only here to keep an eye on this thread so I know when to start stalking the IC stuff.
