Name: Bailey Éowyn Novak
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Gender: Cisfemale
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Appearance: Bailey is a pretty, little thing in the most unassuming way possible. At a diminutive five foot one she is small enough to almost go unnoticed when she wants to. With long mocha tresses, pale storm cloud grey eyes, and sweet, rosebud lips she has the fragile beauty of a porcelain doll. In her school life, she is usually modestly dressed in jeans or a skirt, subtle geek reference t-shirts and cosy cardigans in the cooler months. Always in glasses due to poor distance vision, she embodies the mousy girl that she truly is. Her online persona is in startling contrast. Full advantage is taken of her luscious hips and petite, pert breasts enhanced with a good push up bra. Contact lenses, either clear or in a colour dictated by the character she is cosplaying are usually worn on camera. Bailey is not adverse to donning the apparel of racier characters for her loyal subscribers.
Faceclaim: Maria Fernanda Galvão

History:
Stephanie Novak was a dreamer. Her heart had been full of the magic of sword and sorcery, and science fiction for as long as she could remember. Her dreams were brimming with the characters of the books she read that inspired  whole worlds she created of her own. Landscapes filled with wizards, fearsome beasts and brave travellers that would carry away her doldrum reality of lower class, small town life. She had shone in her studies with her creative writing being the jewel of it all. The teachers of New Lund High had the kind of hopes for her that she could never afford herself. Her English Literature teacher submitted one of her short stories and a recommendation to Columbia University, resulting in a full ride scholarship in their creative writing program . Stephanie would never see her dream realised. In her final semester of her final year, she fell pregnant.

Bailey Novak had never known who her biological father was. Stephanie would tell her grand tales of a prince from distant lands or a cosmic interdimensional traveller, giving the little girl a perfect parent with the perfect reason for his absence. When she became a little older, it was her turn to spin tales of her fictional dad, choosing actors from her favourite TV shows or the dashing leads in her most beloved books. There was never any sadness or shame surrounding the lack of a father, both mother and daughter had enough imagination between them to create someone far more worthy of the little girl than reality ever could.

The beginning of Bailey’s life was lived with her mother, in her maternal grandparent’s home. It was a simple home but always full of love and the scent of fresh baked cookies. Stephanie took on two jobs to save for a place they could call their own and by the time Bailey was five she had managed to secure one half of a duplex on a rent to own contract. It wasn’t in the nicest part of town, being in the neighbourhood that butted up against the trailer park and it wasn’t in the greatest repair but it was theirs. When her mom had precious time between both jobs, the time would be spent together, working on their little house to convert it into the tiny palace of their dreams.

In her first year of high school, Stephanie’s brother, Jeremy was discharged from the marines with an honourable discharge due to an injury in the line of duty. Uncle Jeremy had been posted in Afghanistan and had been caught in the blast when a fellow member of his unit triggered a landmine. Losing a leg and the hearing in his right ear, he was sent back home to New Lund with full pension. He was quick to bond with his niece, introducing her to his passions of video games, anime and manga. Hours were spent together both in couch co-op and online crushing the competition. It was Jeremy’s suggestion based on his niece’s adeptness with a controller in her small hands and the delightful reparte that bubbled in her girlish tones, that she considered a streaming channel on Twitch. The uncle had been right, even without the visual of her pixie-like features, Bailey’s channel, under her gamer tag of HellNoKitty, had stacked up two hundred subscribers in her first two months. Those numbers rose a little each month, gifts from her amazon wish list started arriving to the house and the tidy, little paycheque that came every month made sure that Stephanie could stop taking on extra shifts. On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, dressed as one of her favourite video game characters, to honour her faithful subscribers, she finally turned the camera on and revealed the face behind the voice and deadly headshots. Her feed crashed and subscriptions doubled in a week. With her subscriber total getting closer to a thousand everyday, the income that she makes has negated the need for her mother’s second job.

It was on a Sunday night, well after the sun had sunk past the horizon, that Bailey had found herself walking home through the trailer park, on her own. Having broken her strict routine, she had found herself swept up in her Grammy’s wild stories of her misspent youth in the sixties. Full throated, belly laughs were accompanied with the harried wheezing of trying to catch her breath and free flowing tears of pure joy. The hours had slipped past and soon enough the daylight had escaped her along with her laughter. The journey from her grandmother’s house to home wasn’t far and there always seemed to be a sweet boy with a bad reputation waiting to ensure her safe passage through the trailer park…except that night, the sentry was called from his station for less chivalrous duties. The trepidatious trek through the trailer park in the dark seemed to sprawl on in distorted fear soaked miles. Each step didn’t feel as if it was bringing her closer to home. Every noise was a warning, every movement a threat and the emergence of a tall, dark figure was the final thing to set Bailey fleeing for her life. Her breath seared her throat, heart thundered like a military tattoo and the welcoming sight of the porch light of her family’s small duplex was the promise of a blessed sanctuary. With terror frimly gripping her entire being a fumbled grab for the front door knob should have resulted in a full body collision. Instead, she found herself running literally through the door. In the moments it took her panicked state to subside and to catch her breath, she realised what had happened. The voice of her startled uncle not having seen how she entered seemed hilariously apt, “Whoah! Bay! Didn’t hear you come in there! You made me shit!! You’re in full on ghost recon mode, eh kiddo?!” …if only he knew.

Personality: Bailey’s Grammy always told her that she was “as sweet as cherry pie but as shy as a stray fawn.” Both sentiments still sing true in the twilight of her teens. With a clinical diagnosis of Social Anxiety Disorder, it's not just a simple case of “being shy”, genuine discomfort is felt with new and unknown situations, people and places. Despite her diagnosis, Bailey is a compassionate and loving girl. A real “glass half full” positive mind set is paired with being able to pinpoint the tiniest glimmer of potential in a person, and she will attempt to nurture that sentiment if she can feel close to that person. Growing up with very little has taught her to be frugal and never wasteful but also generous to a fault. If she can’t afford to provide material items, she will give instead her time, knowledge and affection. Definitely far more of a homebody than a party girl, Bailey is close with the three members of her family. Sundays are always spent with her Grammy, Bailey picks her up after she had been to church, walks her home to spend the afternoon catching up and simply enjoying each others’ company.

Powers:
Straight Up Horror Show: After a life of being afraid of everything, those phobias transmogrified into phantasmagorical strength. Bailey’s power set is a thing of horror movies and the darkest urban legends. With each new ability discovered, an old fear is stripped away and added to an armoury of grotesque.
  • Reanimation: Able to reanimate the remains of organic organisms, from body parts to an entire corpse, making them able to move and react to stimuli. The reanimated are under Bailey's control, but because they are mostly mindless, they have to be carefully monitored. Whilst the effect of reanimation is in place, Bailey can extend her powers, with effort, to communicate with the consciousness of the beings that were once housed within the carrion. The fresher the corpse or parts, the more communicative it is, within the forty-eight hour mark full consciousness can be accessed but, with the toll of decay and time passed, the echoes of consciousness fade until bones give little more than vague feelings. The reanimated only remain so for a limited period of time, until the reason for their animation has been completed or Bailey becomes exhausted from the extension of her power.
  • Dead Recall:Any information, memories, perspectives, knowledge or understanding that Bailey has been supplied by her reanimated is able to be recalled with as much ease as recalling anything she has experienced or learned directly herself.
  • The Body Politic: Able to remove body parts from her being and retain full senses, control and motion of the part. There is no need for a surgical type removal, Bailey’s flesh complies to her touch in the bloodless detachment of whatever part it is she wishes to utilise. From using a disembodied hand to scuttle into an open window and unlock a door from the inside or plucking an eyeball from her skull to gain extra height to look over a high wall or fence.
  • Long Live the New Flesh:Similar in effect to what has been known as psychic surgery, flesh seems to be naturally compelled to Bailey’s bidding without spilling a single drop of blood. Utilised in her The Body Politic ability, its applications can also be extended to removing debris and foreign objects from living tissue, from the tiniest of silvers and shrapnel to the largest calibre bullets and Phineas Gage type railway spikes. It can also extend to using her body as a storage space to hold and carry small items without detection.
  • Ghosting: With a spectre like intangibility, Bailey is able to move through solid objects and ignore most physical effects in her way. This means she can “ghost” through solid walls and doors, ignore most attacks, physical dangers, and sink through floors. The power can extend to objects and one other living being if constant physical contact is maintained.

Abilities:
Gifted Student: Having spent the duration of her elementary schooling career in gifted programs, Bailey has been in AP classes for her high school years. Not just academically bright, she also has a genuine thirst for knowledge that keeps her engaged and her grades high.
Impassioned Artist: Fortunate enough to have inherited her mother’s mile wide creative streak, Bailey’s talents have fallen towards the visual arts. A keen sense of colour theory, perspective and translating her inner vision to her media have contributed to her breathtaking artistic ability. From graphite to oils and clay to makeup Bailey’s talent shines in everything that comes from her mind and hands.
BOOM! HEADSHOT!: With killer hand eye coordination and twitchy reflexes, Bailey is a top shelf gamer. It doesn’t matter if it is console or PC,  MOBA or a JRPG, she is a wizard with a controller or a keyboard and mouse.
A Stitch In Time: Bailey’s ability to sew was handed down from her grandmother. Grammy taught her embroidery, machine sewing (both pedal and surger) and hand stitching. With her discovered love for cosplay those skills reached out and over to construction with various types of foams, plastics and random household items repurposed for decorative means. There is very little Bailey cannot create with a needle and thread or her trusty hot glue gun.
Silver Lining: A perpetual optimist, a real glass half full girl despite the hardships that she and her family have lived through. This sunny disposition also extends to people, she likes to believe that she can see the potential in every living soul

Limitations/Weaknesses:
Myopic: Literally short sighted. Cannot clearly see past one foot from her pretty, little nose without the aid of glasses or contact lenses.
Squishy: Is as vulnerable to any kind of damage as any other normal human being on the planet.
Secret Identity: Though Bailey is incredibly proud of her Twitch career, she has taken great pains to keep it separate from her daily life. She hasn’t shared her online career with any of her peers or a single being past her front door…except maybe with a neighbourhood cat or dog.
Silver Lining:  A perpetual optimist, a real glass half full girl despite the hardships that she and her family have lived through. This sunny disposition also extends to people, she likes to believe that she can see the potential in every living soul…and can be brutally exploited for as much.
Social Anxiety: Bailey isn’t just shy, she has been diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder. She tends to feel quite nervous or uncomfortable in social situations,  and is very concerned that she will do something embarrassing or humiliating, or that others will think badly of her. Oddly, this does not seem to be the case with the dead.
Jump Scare: Easily spooked and nervous, Bailey has a high startle reaction to sudden unexpected noise, movement, or touch. Mildest reactions come as flinching and involuntary vocal reaction and more severe can trigger panic attacks and even fainting,
One Hell of a Workout: Not ever being a physical type, the manifestation of her powers has forced her to use her body in ways she never had or even thought of before. The effort she extends at times transcends the limits of her petite form. When her energy becomes low and depleted, Bailey experiences fatigue and can go so far as knocking her entirely unconscious. A period of rest and the consumption of high sugar content foods are needed to replenish her reserves.

Ons: Daydreaming, videogames, anime & manga (subs over dubs, of course!), sunsets, privacy, coordinating stationary, piercing the foil on a new tube of paint, the scent of books & pencil sharpenings, grape soda and double XP weekend binges.
Offs: Large social gatherings, public speaking, people that talk too loud, prolonged eye contact, being the centre of attention irl, tomatoes, toxic fandoms, characters she love getting nerfed, the misogyny that runs rampant in online gaming and horrible ping.
Player Ons & Offs: Please take a dip into my F-List for reference.

@Writersblockade: I don't want a character like Paris in the game. Hard pass.

@Tinkertoy: I don't want things like ghosts or spirits to be real in the game world and that's incompatible with two thirds of the character's power set. I don't mind the animation of dead bodies or intangibility. If you're happy with those two things and modifying to not having abilities pertaining to ghosts and spirits then Bailey's fine, although I imagine it's a fairly significant element that may serve as a cornerstone to the concept.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Well...I look around and I don't see a lot of galvanizing characters that people love to hate, so I'd thought he'd bring some spice to the game. Now, I can use basically 80% of the sheet for another type of character, sooooo, what do you think would be helpful for your story?

Alright!! Tweaks have been made and now she is Bailey 2.0!!!!!

Here are things that are helpful to me, in the order they came to mind, not in any particular priority:

- characters that are likable.
- characters that are able to interact with other characters in a positive, non-antagonistic/manipulative manner.
- characters that have holes in their capabilities that allow others to complement them, and for them to complement others.
- characters that take into consideration existing characters and do not do the same thing, but better.
- characters that do not do things that multiple other characters do singly, with equal facility.
- characters with lower numbers of easy to handle powers.

Not every player character checks all of those boxes, or has to, but that is what I think would be helpful.

I don't want to hate any of the player characters. There's enough player characters who are unlikable and have obstacles to forming connections and having interactions with other player characters.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Name: Paris Henley
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Gender: Cis-Male
Sexual Orientation: Straight-ish? It’s all a spectrum, right?

Appearance: Pictures Below
Faceclaim: Jackson Passaglia

History: Paris is the son of Thomas ‘Big Tom’ Henley and Susanna Baker-Henley, both born and raised in New Lund. Thomas had himself played high school football some ages ago for the Varangians, and to this day never misses a game and usually throws a check to the school each year as long as business is booming. He has a small sprinkle of “Kash is King” pawn shops in certain spots where the demographics point to the need to procure fast cash for treasured objects. There’s even a more modest boutique in the more well-to-do part of New Lund for people who need to offload pieces of history they may have no need or use for!

Susanna Baker was a New Lund alum as well. While a Varangian cheerleader, she fell in love with the brash Thomas Henley in high school, and came back home to New Lund to find the big guy still pining for her after college and a few years making what would have been a pittance in the NFL, but to them was the seed money that started their business venture together. It was Susanna’s idea, but since it was built on the back of Tom’s high school connections and notoriety, she was more than happy to let him take the credit, as long as she controlled the money.

By the time Paris was born, they’d done their share of suffering to turn their dream into a reality, which meant dealing with the kind of clientele that needed a certain amount of finesse. What Tom lacked in that, Susanna more than picked up the slack, and they both raised Paris the best way they knew how, which unfortunately was not well. It would take years to understand that Paris was not going to be a Big Tom, and his mother’s dreams of having a girl to dress up and hit the pageant circuit with were dashed when she was diagnosed with secondary infertility. Both had adamantly went against fertility treatments as a path to more children. Had the good lord wanted them to have more, then it would happen naturally.

Somehow, despite their thinly veiled disappointment, they still remained very much in love with each other, and supplied Paris with the tools necessary to be a productive member of society. Their lack of love did not go unnoticed. Paris grew up understanding that his parents were more than happy to let him sink or swim in the environments they’d placed him in. Whenever Big Tom tried to get him in a sport, he’d usually be the one holding a clipboard or fetching equipment. He stopped altogether just to keep the comments regarding Paris’ “equipment manager” placements on the teams from ruining whatever reputation he had left.

Susanna was the one that first noticed that the times Paris held those clipboards, they’d actually contained notes of trajectories, small sketches of body mechanics, and play doodles. She couldn’t understand half of it, but when she showed Tom, he was forced to look at his son in a new light. He sat down with the boy to watch game after game, and talk purely about the strategy fundamentals that went into each decision coaches made or decided against. The boy had a knack and that could not be denied, and gears started turning on just what that could mean for them all.

Tom started placing bets. Small ones just to start with, purely on the conversations he had with Paris. The boy knew what his father was doing, but he actually seemed interested for once. He wanted to hear what he had to say, and when he talked about football, or whatever sport in general, he had his father’s ear. It was probably the closest they’d ever come to bonding, and it was far from perfect…but he’d take it. Paris had come to realize that his father’s respect was worth much more to him than his love. Respect gave him freedom. A chance to pursue things that really interested him, as long as he ‘paid his dues’. He started his first lab in the shed. He’d installed solar cells for energy as his first experiment, and improved on the design to squeeze as much juice out of the process as he could. There was a fire or two…but practically giving Big Tom a second income smoothed over a lot of design errors. Nothing succeeds like success!

By the time high school rolled around, he was that kid. The one who could jailbreak your phone and make it do shit that the company didn’t intend. That could tell you exactly how to mask your ip to get to sites you didn’t want traced back to you. It was all just challenges. He didn’t really care about what it was for, as long as it was interesting. Payment was added when the demand got high enough to be picky about his projects. It was a great time for him, as it gave him the chance to really see what he could bring to the table. Those people put there that used tech to change the world? He could be with them, and the idea of that gave him a high he couldn't deny.

Personality: A curious child by nature, his aptitude for science was his refuge from the demands of his parents. It gave him the challenge he needed, and helped him gain the confidence he needed to put himself out there socially. While the pursuit of science has left him a little cold and morally gray (not that his relationship with his parents helped with that), it has also made him realize the power of results.

Powers:

Energizer Bunny - Paris has found himself able to charge items using his own beefed up bioelectrical energy. Something in his pocket would charge as if on a quick-charger. Also has found that he requires much less sleep (About 3 hours a day) if not especially taxed. This may have other applications he hasn’t thought of.

Is it AI? Or is he nuts? - Paris may, or may not be in contact with an artificial intelligence. He feels something in the recesses of his mind, and when he makes a request, it’s fulfilled. The voice in his head sounds like a female from something he’s seen before, and every time he attempts to experiment on himself to contact it, it leaves. Only to return later.

Patched In! - Paris can “see” where a piece of tech goes wrong. A worn gear? A bad capacitor? He knows what all his babies need to perform their function, and also, optimizing to work their very best, which funnily enough is how he got into car modifications!

Abilities: Photographic Memory - An elephant doesn’t forget, and neither does this guy. Notes, test results, model numbers. He has a mind for data, and he crunches well

Sportsball Guru - Growing up watching sports has given him an exposure that, at the very least, gives him an extensive knowledge of the latest and greatest in sports for every season. This has been exploited time and time again by his father to place winning bets.

All the right "friends" - For someone who is a relative nobody, his tinkering has made him perpetually the "cool" guy,  and gives him access to people who he wouldn’t normally have access to, which in his mind, gives him street cred.

Talk Nerdy to Me - Paris has an interesting ability to translate the highly technical to the everyday person, and take what the everyday person wants and translate it to programming language.

Mad Scientist - He does science shit. He leans towards the robotics side of things, but every since his abilities manifested, he’s been absorbing whatever he could to overcome gaps in experience.

Gap in the Armor - Paris has learned to exploit gaps in coding. This doesn’t make him magically hack stuff, but if there’s a direct path through the operating system or installed software, he has a chance to exploit it.

Chess not Checkers - Strategy becomes as easy as breathing. The more information he has, the more he can project the results of a game or match-up. Luckily the world has made information accessible with the power of a few keystrokes.

Limitations/Weaknesses: With such a tech-heavy powerset, an EMP could play absolute havok with him

Ons: Experiments, making things look easy, girls. Anime, tinkering, bodies brought to you by science!

Offs: Useless people, failure to adapt, and those who fail to see his brilliance

Character Theme: Robot Rock - Daft Punk
Plot Seeds: Very open, but none come to mind at the time.
Character Connections: TBD!

Name: Zell Moon
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Hetero
Faceclaim: Song Weilong

History:Zell grew up poor…large family, two older brothers, one older sister and one younger. His neighbourhood of New Lund was not a good place to be, but it was what they could afford with everyone having a part time job. Zell had big dreams and not the normal little kid dreams of being a baseball player or a rock star. He seriously wanted to be a pitcher for the Seattle Mariners, he also wanted to learn Kung Fu, Hun Gar to be precise, then there was his discovery that he was a pretty decent artist, so he wanted to do his own graphic novels.

None of that happened, except because of the number of fights he got into his mom signed him up for Hun Gar, the Shaolin Tiger/Crane style since he was six. Everyone in the family worked. If it wasn't shifts at the restaurant The Jade Empress (his dad was the bookkeeper there and his mom was the hostess), you had to get a job. Zell went from paper route to bike courier and still had to learn to cook and clean.

Zell had a temper, still does really but he's learned to control it over the years. When he was younger a lot of things set him off. There was the normal amount of racism that people mostly shrugged off, picking on his family always did it, once it was about his name not sounding Chinese enough. It wasn't Chinese. Zell is a Hebrew name. He was named after the lifeguard that saved his mom from drowning.

After saving Emily and Amy's family, Zell threw himself into working out and getting ready to be a fireman. He didn't say anything to anyone, mostly because he thought it was crazy, but he prayed to whomever was out there listening to save his little sister. He found her last and as he was pulling his neighbors out of their home it was getting harder and harder to breathe and move. He hated that he was forced to beg God to save his little sister, but he did it with a few fuck you's thrown in there too. God wasn't paying attention so Zell found his courage.

Personality:Zell was that kid with 'a lot of potential' that no one figured would ever be realized. He was hot headed and got into fights. He was passionate about the dreams he did have. He may have failed a lot and fallen down, but he always picked himself back up. Now in his last year in high school he still had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. He always did best when people told him he couldn't do something rather than that quiet encouragement. In late August, he was walking home and seeing a fire in their neighbors house was the catalyst. His sister Emily was in that house hanging with her friend Amy. He didn't think about it, just ran in and kept finding people before he found her. What are you going to do, leave them to burn? By the time the fire trucks showed up he had everyone out, some of his hair singed and was basically sooty. But he knew what he wanted to do as he was holding Amy's poodle.

Powers:
Vibrokinesis: If you are going to get all science nerd about it, he can create, interact with and manipulate vibrations. He can do it inside himself, others, objects orr the environment. Theoretically he can affect sound, temperature and shockwaves...yeah, his non-science nerd brain has no idea about that. Its all by feel and instinct, maybe one day if he reads a book or something. As of right now he has the following abilities:
-Concussive force: either directly through a punch/kick or remotely (his range is about 20 feet), he so wants to call this Hadouken
-Tremor Sense: sort of like sonar but he doesn't hear it, he feels it. It took a few weeks of being completely disoriented but now he's rather difficult to sneak up on.

Abilities:
Athletics:Lets face it you have to be in wicked shape to be a firefighter. Zell spends a lot of his time doing things instead of lifting weights at a gym. He runs, rock climbs, kayaks and swims a lot to keep himself trim.
I know Kung Fu: Hun Gar and spear training since he was six. He competes in tournaments at the state level.
Empathy: Although he can be a sarcastic dick at times, that is a defense mechanism. Zell is good about picking up on other people's feelings too. He hides this though.
Expression: Zell discovered he could draw, mainly due to trying to make his own comic books. He did this when he couldn't afford to buy his own and came up with his own heroes and shared them with his siblings. He still makes up his own comics as a way of winding down.
Persuasion: Zell can talk a good game. He's good at totally making shit up and sounding insanely plausible. Not Loki or anything but he could have made great money as a grifter if he wanted to. Now he just talks people out of getting into trouble
Languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish. Select swear words in a number of languages.
Handy with Tools: Part of life, you break stuff, you fix stuff or your mother pulls your ear off. He knows his way around power tools

Limitations/Weaknesses:
Vibrokinesis: Zell is subconsciously afraid of what his powers mean. He's a long time comic nerd. You don't give vampire powers to an angel. If you have darkness powers...you likely have an inner darkness. His powers are all about destruction. He can shatter concrete with them, he's been in enough fights to know exactly what he can do to someone he is mad at.
Academics: Yeah, no... ask him about Shakespeare or where the Congo is and you will get some really entertaining stories.
Intimidation: You are totally going to get movie lines and no one is afraid about that. Zell will just hit you instead.
Science: This is stuff for other people to understand and fix.
Computers:There are school reports and there is surfing the net and games. Other than that, yeah that is his sister Emily the IT Girl.
Medicine:The fire department wouldn't take you if you have paramedic training. This is what he is going to go to school for. Right now, very basic cpr.
Investigation:He's curious and likes to figure stuff out. Unfortunately, Batman he is not. He is looking to take courses in this though.
Drive: Can drive a stick shift. No where near the level he needs to be to join the fire department.

On/Offs: Bowen's O/O's
Character Theme: Running up that Hill

*comes through and drops a flag on this page* CH how do you feel about a tiny lil person who plays with wind? No big powers as I don't think they fit for the setting as is so I would be looking to use about three or four which tie together under the Aerokinesis flag. If it is something you think might work, I would like to work on a sheet for this game.

That sounds like it might work. If you wanted to write up the powers first and run those by me before committing to a whole sheet that's fine by me.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Here's what I had in mind CH-

Air Absorption: Can draw the wind/air into herself and use it in a variety of ways. Most noted below:
Zap: Low energy bolts of air from hands that cause minor pain and can be added to punches
Air Blasts: Higher bursts of air from the palms of her hands that are used to break grappling holds, push away objects and/or people
Enhanced Senses: Movement of the Air permitting she can hear a whisper from a few rooms away or trace a scent that others do not notice.
Enhanced Speed: Nika can reduce air resistance and use pressurized air for propulsion for small periods of time, usually 10 to 15 minutes. She is working on increasing this.

Like I said, small abilities...most useful in evasion or self defense. Nothing big.

Meet Nika--let me know if I have to change anything.

Name: Nika Devereaux
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Gender:  Female
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual with a preference for the feminine

Appearance: Nika is comprised of softness and wildness in one delicate form. Standing at just over 5'1" and weighing about 110 pounds, she is marked by wild curls, caramel skin, and a sweet smile. See below for more pictures.
Faceclaim: Kiersey Clemons

History: Samuel Devereaux, born and raised in Brooklyn NYC, joined the Air Force after graduation. Due to his desire to travel and love of learning, the young man rapidly advanced to Staff Sargeant and eventually transferred to the base near New Lund just before the "Event".  He was one of the few NCO's chosen to inspect the various sites and at the time, found himself quite pleased by the faith those in positions of power placed upon him.

Sam met and married Nathalia Bilyk, a resident of New Lund. Almost nine months to the first night of their honeymoon, the couple gave birth to a little girl, Nika. She was born on base and spent the first year of her life there. However, by the following spring,  the young family had been stationed overseas, at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.  Nika spent her formative years bouncing between Germany and London.

When Nika turned 12, she and her father returned to New Lund. Her mother had passed away a few months prior and he had been medically discharged due to severe PTSD and the sudden onset of epilepsy. They found a small house located near the high school and he began work as an accountant. He encouraged Nika in her scholarly pursuits and tried to help her quell the anger she sometimes felt by getting her involved in boxing and grappling.  Eventually, Nika found work at a local diner as a short order cook, anything to stay busy.

Just after her 18th birthday, as Nika was walking home from work on a balmy Saturday evening, she ran afoul of some people who didn't like her looks. While doing some random punching, kicking, and cursing, the young woman was overwhelmed with the stench of sweat and bad breath and heard a sussuration that grew louder with each heartbeat. Eventually, she broke and ran. Something propelled her forward at an accelerated clip.

It scared her.

She now suffers from headaches. They feel like migraines brought on by loud noises or strong smells. Wind seemingly dances by her fingertips....at least she thinks it does. Slowly, she's discovered a few little tricks but she is terrified that someone other than her father will find out.

Neither of them knows what to do.

Father: Sam Devereaux
Mother: Nathalia Bilyk deceased

Personality: Nika is studious when called for but filled with laughter when not in class. Quick with a smile or a smirk, she tends to giggle at silly things and enjoys getting to know other people though she does not build deep relationships very often. In fact, she prefers to keep most people at a distance and hides that particular desire behind her sweet smiles and bubbly laughter. She is confident, engaging, and flirty and most people do not notice anything amiss. There are times when she falls into depression or quietly rages against what she considers injustices BUT for the most part, Nika maintains her cheerful attitude.

Powers: Aerokinesis- The ability to create, shape and manipulate the air/wind. This is limited to:

  • Air Absorption: Can draw the wind/air into herself and use it in a variety of ways. Most noted below:
  • Zap: Low energy bolts of air from hands which cause minor pain and are added to punches
  • Air Blasts: Higher bursts of air from the palms of her hands that are used to break grappling holds, push away objects and/or people
  • Enhanced Senses: Wind permitting she can hear a whisper from a few rooms away or trace a scent that others do not notice.
  • Enhanced Speed: Nika can reduce air resistance and use pressurized air for propulsion for small periods of time, usually 10 to 15 minutes. She is working on increasing this.
Abilities: Oh LOOK! Nika can do things!!

  • Ear for languages- A military brat, she can understand/speak Spanish, French, and German as well as her native English.
  • Mmmm, food- If she's tasted it and liked it, she can and will cook it, almost perfectly.
  • Dance with me- She loves to move and has studied both tap and ballet. Modern dance is how she loses herself and you can find her in any place where music is playing.
  • Small but fierce- Fighting is fun. No real training but her pops showed her lots of tricks. Call her wiry and wily.
  • But Ima Cheerleader- Athletic and acrobatic, she is flexible and fast with a love of tumbling.
  • Hermione Granger for da win!!- Hermione is her hero...she is studious in the extreme and enjoys learning about everything....

Limitations/Weaknesses: Things Nika Can NOT do!!

  • Drive- Yeah, not her thing. She never needed to before and it just does not interest her now.
  • No Bigger than a Minute- She's tiny, even with help, she has trouble reaching up on high shelves!
  • Control Freak- Nika plans everything- her schedule, her job, her home life. ANYTHING that takes away from the plan or her control is bad. This means she has trouble with spontaneity or losing control of any situation.
  • Temper, Temper- As calm as she is, a loss of control will almost always equal a loss of temper. The more control she's lost, the bigger the fit she throws. This can (and does) include thrown blows, broken glasses, screaming, and tears.
  • Extroverted Introvert- She fakes it well but in reality, she prefers the company of a rare few.
  • Severe headaches- though the longer she deals with all of the new things happening to her, the better they become.

Character Ons: Intelligent conversation, dancing, soft kisses, foul language at the BEST times, people taller than her, thunderstorms, massage.
Character Offs: Stupid, vapid, rude people. Racism. Sexism. Homophobia. Any drug besides weed. Alcohol.

Here's X, happy to adjust if needed!

Xolisile 'X' Xulu
Name: Xolisile 'X' Xulu
Age: 19
Sex: Trans Female
Gender: Female (She/Her)
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual

Appearance: X is a tall, athletic woman with a lithe runner's build. She has long, dark hair and striking notably bright brown eyes. She has well-defined muscles and takes excellent care of her body both her physique and her clear skin. She dresses in an unusual, alternative style and could be seen wearing almost anything depending on the mood from gothic fashion to more masculine styles to bikinis and dresses. X carries herself with a great deal of confidence, striding when she walks and daring others to challenge her. She has a visible, palpable pride about her and refuses to bow her head or be small.
Faceclaim: Akira Reid

History: X grew up in New Lund, her parents having emigrated together from South Africa due to a rise in violence and a string of personal threats against their family. Her father wanted to keep his then-pregnant wife safe before she gave birth to their son, Bandile. They settled well, her parents finding careers and raising their son for a few years before deciding to have a second child.

In many ways, X was nothing like their brother. Bandile was tall, confident to the point of outright cockiness and very typical in a lot of ways where X struggled to fit in. Despite their eccentricities, they were well-supported by their family including through their early-life transition that took place during their early teen years. During this time X began to find themselves and enjoy things like art, a holdover from childhood, horror movies and the early days of their own form of spirituality.

Between their alternative style, confidence and striking art they became a recognisable enough figure around school with at least a half-decent degree of popularity as people found that beneath the 'weirdness' there was a fun person to know. Some still dislike X due to their satanist leanings, unsettling art and accusations of graffiti while certain people take issue with their identity. X has learned to appear strong no matter what.

Unfortunately for X, though, it's much more dangerous to appear strong now. Her powers have managed to give her both a great deal of resilience and a huge vulnerability. Any day anyone could trigger them, causing her pain and potentially worse to them. She takes care as even an inopportune trip and fall could easily lead to her powers being outed in public. She's been trying to step back from her social life and is at risk of becoming something of a recluse. Drinking and drug use have also become obvious hazards for her.

Personality: It's very important to X that she maintains her pride and keeps her head held high. She can appear arrogant but nothing could be further than the truth. She has self-esteem and image issues, and suffers from both depression and anxiety. To protect herself she projects an aura of strength to try to make sure others treat her with respect. She's a lover of horror movies and art. X tends to be polite to others unless they do something to irk her in which case she'll usually aim to avoid them rather than confront them.

Despite her anxieties she's well known to be a lot of fun at parties, often bringing drink or drugs despite her father's legal profession. She's an avid dancer and generally something of a devil on others' shoulders encouraging them to let loose and have fun. Broadly, X subscribes to the Satanist perspective of the self being the highest form of being and she firmly believes indulgence is human nature and that people should, within reason, explore their nature in depth.

X doesn't like drama or confrontation but when faced with bigotry in the form of racism, homophobia, transphobia or anything similar she won't shy away from berating someone even if she'd avoid getting into a fight. Since her powers X has had to learn to be cautious of being threatened or put into a position of danger as she's scared she may accidentally hurt someone who lashes out at her.

Family

Andre Xulu
Amahle Xulu
Bandile Xulu
Lawyer
Artist
Aspiring NFL Player
Father
Mother
Older Brother

Powers:
Reactive Adaptation: X has one, core, power that can manifest in a wide range of ways. It is a reactive adaptation to threats and danger that can transform her body in a variety of ways. These transformations are always brief and only last long enough to evade the danger. The more extreme they are, the more they exhaust her and hurt her. The transformations are always painful. Generally, the transformations take the form of strange black and green bio-organic matter forming into bony armour, spines and similar things. She can even grow gills to survive underwater. There is a limit to what she can adapt to survive but she doesn't know what it is, yet. These powers are capable of being offensive, attacking her attacker in order to keep her safe with things like claws and tendrils.

Abilities:
Losers Club: X is a huge fan of horror films and has a vast knowledge of them, with an extensive collection.
Snap: X is a decent, if not overly remarkable, photographer and not bad at filming things either.
Artist: X loves her art over all else. She's always drawing or painting. She loves oil painting, surrealism, disturbing art and graffiti.
Athletic: While not the pinnacle, X is a fit and healthy person who is a strong runner.
Spiritual: X is a satanist but she has a general interest in religions and has done more research than most into a few of them.

Limitations/Weaknesses:
Reactive: X can't choose to use her powers, nor can she turn them off or adjust them. They simply happen without her say-so when triggered and remain until she is safe. She lives in constant fear of being outed by accident and has become very careful.
Painful: X's powers are extremely painful when they activate, often leaving her very distracted and relying on them to survive.
Limited: X can adapt to survive all manner of things but she can't choose what the adaptations are, how much they might hurt someone nearby and she has no way to really test just how far they can go without risking her life. She hasn't undergone things like being shot, set on fire, hit with a car or anything that severe to know how she might respond.
Fire: Fire, in particular, is extremely hard for X to adapt to.

Ons: Intimate but rough sex with passion and kink. Versatile, generally.
Offs: Raceplay, Ageplay, Scat, Vomit, U18's

Character Theme: Death Grips - Takyon (Death Yon) | Quay Dash Ft. SOPHIE - Queen Of This Shit | CES Cru - Seven Chakras
Plot Seeds:

Lawyer Father: X's dad is a lawyer, it would be interesting if someone was a former or current client of his.
Graffiti Art: X has been creating more and more graffiti over time, she could have graffiti'd someone's property.
Horror Movie Club: X is a lover of horror films and would love to have some others to watch them with.

Character Connections: For connections devised with other characters.

@Bowen: Zell is approved.

I have only one question: how tall is Zell?

@Wolfling72: Nika is approved.

I do want to gently mention that I don't want issues of racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, and other types of bigotry along those lines to be things that come in the game. It's just ugliness that I don't want in something I do for fun.

@Totoro: X is approved.

But as I just mentioned, I don't want issues of bigotry to be a thing in this game. I just want it to be fun, messy teen drama and angst and people discovering they can shoot laser beams and worrying about juggling an afterschool job with a budding romance and a big unknown future on the horizon that's complicated because sometimes they transform not completely to their will into a wolf or something.
