Oh my gosh, sorry to have missed the intro, is there room for a farmgirl who can manipulate and animate cotton? Reinforce it for armoring and strength, use strips as tendrils, shape it with her hands as she designs her own fashions?
What were you thinking just now?

Thanks. I worried about trampling over that inspiration. I'm glad that I didn't crush it.

I look forward to seeing what connections you can come up with with other characters. And everyone else as well.

Alrighty, Rhys is all updated as per requested!

Serenity would be a good guinea pig, I mean test subject, I mean lab monkey, I mean helper for Rhys to test her suggestion powers on. When I wrote her I was thinking Knuckles the Echidna levels of being duped by people. :P She will be a very easily persuaded individual. Plus she’d have known Ryker being on the football team.

I mean...Rhys would totally and utterly exploit that, especially considering the headspace she's currently in if you're into that, I could certainly be down.

Also, in regards to Ryker, he was definitely the more visible of the twins. He was just...lovely. Extroverted and friendly, he would have been popular but oddly humble and sweet. Totally "one of the guys" but would have pulled them up for misogynistic jock shit. He would have been totally welcoming of having Serenity on the team. Its entirely up to you what kind of connection she had with him, whether she liked him or thought he was a total asshole...but I get the feeling not many people didn't like him. His death would have most certainly had an impact on the school and obviously the football team.

I only wanna be your self-inflicted wound.
It sees you, baby. The friction between me and you.
Show me what makes you human, I'll show you vulnerable.
You bend, you break, you surrender and melt like solid gold.

I’d be down for that. From how you described Ryker I feel like he’d have been one of the first people on the team to truly accept Serenity as just another member of the team. Serenity would never forget something like that so losing him would have been pretty hard on her. She would have liked him like she likes her brothers. And being ride or die like she is I’d say she would be down with helping her friend Rhys out. Rhys would likely already know how easy it is to get Serenity to do what she wanted from before Ryker passed, and Serenity would still be supportive of her and just want to make her happy, and not realize of what she is doing or helping is hurting Rhys or aiding her addictions. It’s be a good place to start so there is already that connection when we get to the RP.

Speaking of Serenity, I think it would be very likely she bullied (or actively bullies) Emily in school if you're open to that connection. I certainly don't mind starting off with some friction in the name of character development, especially if you're looking to give Serenity a redemption arc.

Oh I’m still trying to think out what Syn is doing now that she’s complete. (at least in her own mind).

I’d definitely be down for that. Emily would be an easy target and Serenity likely would just go along with other football dude bros in picking on the east targets. Definitely a chance for growth there, and Emily had a power Serenity’s strength and durability wouldn’t be very good against so Emily could also get a chance to experience a change in power dynamics if push ever came to shove between them.

I was also gonna say I can easily see Serenity going gah gah for a pretty girl like Abigail. She’d be an easy mark for her schemes.

That sounds great to me! I can certainly roll with Emily being picked on relentlessly by Serenity and the guys (even if she's mostly just going along with the jock bros). Serenity pursing the bullying outside of school can also lead to a situation where push comes to shove for a reverse power dynamic.

Abigail's very much into getting what she wants out of people for her own benefit, at least until she has some kind of humbling experience down the line. So if leading on Serenity knowingly or simply realizing she's eye candy that can be used to her advantage, she'll utilize that for sure!

Quick question: could Abby potentially use her momentum to hit someone/something with immense force if she runs to said target while carrying a weapon? I know we're not going hard sci-fi and there's leeway with physics but figured I would ask if this is plausible in the 'verse. Might be a neat thing to discover when she's in a tough spot later on.

Plausible. Probably break whatever weapon she's got and hurt her hand/arms something fierce.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

I have a question as well. Could Syn evolve physical abilities using her powers? Like some low level resistance to damage, speed and/or strength by tweaking her biology?

Yes, that's something that could happen in the future.

Speaking of bullying, Cassie would get her share of that as well — she’d rather read than party, and to make matters worse, she doesn’t even like football.   :P

I’m sure Syn gets a bit of bullying too.  Given her trans status and past bipolar status.

Cold Heritage

Looks like Serenity and Niko will have their hands full - bullying and anti-bullying respectively.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

BennyQ

We could have some NPCs as bullies I assume?

Yeah Niko is mostly quiet but he will not handle a bully.

- At the Southernmost periphery of New Lund there is a trailer park. Those who reside there are, in the main, of low socio-economic means. This trailer park is home to Marcus Teuling. Marcus grows marijuana illegally and is the head of most if not all illicit activities in town.

If it’s possible, I would like Cato’s family shop in town to be a (forced) distribution center of drug trafficking for Marcus Teuling’s organization, with maybe Cato’s, and perhaps another character’s, first manifestation of their powers being in a secret murder conspiracy against one of Teuling’s lieutenant. That could add heat and scandal as a good jumping point for the central plot or something. If anyone is interested.

Also if anyone is interested, there are definitely jobs at the ice cream shop for high schoolers, after school or on the weekend, who can be an active or passive participant in the store’s underground trafficking of drugs and weapons and such. Interact with enforcers and all that. Cato would be like the front man for that sort of business and your characters can assist.

And we can tie it all in with the main plot?

I'm Cold Heritage and I support this message.

There's potential with the secret murder for the secret murderee to be the very same individual who suffered Emily's power manifestation, to tie things together.

Emi is currently looking for a job.

She also lives in the trailer park and is probably on Teuling's radar after what happened with her dad (which involved the first manifestation of her powers). Either of those are possible scenarios she could likely fit into.

I’m sure we can tie in others too. And the shop can take another character alongside Emily at the shop for sure. But yes, let’s go put a hole in a mfer. I think it’ll definitely be Cato’s first time using his powers.

Would we want Niko and Serenity to have some sort of rival/foil/nemesis thing going on? Or more so he just knows she’s a bully and she knows he’s a white knight?

I saw one of Cassie’s things was that she tutors other students. Would you want to set up that she tutors Serenity or Serenity is also her bully? Or both? I kind of channeled some of my own high school’s asshole football players into her creation so she has plenty of slots open in her bullying schedule.

Hmm...they are on the same team. I mean if it happens in front of him a number of times I can see it go the rival/foil/nemesis route. Otherwise he's just sort of a white knight.
