If you suffer from fireballs, contact your cleric for a lesser restoration.

How to lewd a fireball. Now that is a true conundrum.

Make sure it only damages the clothing!

I had a real life game where we had to dress as our characters. The bard fireballing the monk then accidentally led to it becoming a game of strip DnD.

Clothing, eh... That gives me an idea. Suddenly wondering if the command words for Shiftweave can be operated by a third party other than the wearer. If so I know what magic item one of my infusions will replicate.

I mean, arguably meta-magics could do that; or Evocation Wizards.

Technically, it was iterative for me. The first two-thirds were one sitting, and the rest were piecemeal when you players joined.

I found it was easiest to just write the first instinct I got when I finished reading the sheet.

True but clerics cannot use metamagic if I recall right. (True as a light based cleric I could use fireballs and such.) Or did the books beyond PHB change that?

The most recent book introduced a feat that would let you do it. it is hardly optimal, but it is a thing, which is good.

Zaer Darkwail

Indeed, Tasha's Cauldron introduced a feat which gives you metamagic ability and bit sorcery points.

You serious? Thats sounds amazing (and a touch broken!)

*One read later...*

Only 2 sorcery points on metamagic? Freaking ouch. Doesn't really feel like a big 5e feat. And spending a huge resource to safely cast fireballs only twice sounds wasteful. Especially at higher levels. Definitely need to think that over since the Elemental Adept does so much more (ignoring fire resistance is huge in my book).

If you can already spell cast, the Feat gives you 2 Sorcery Points/LR, and two Metamagic option. It's not dissimilar to the Superiority Dice feat in the PHB, and suffers from similar drawbacks. (Cost of Taking it vs the ASI, it mostly being available as a Variant Rule and not being a certainty, and it competing with many other options; some of which come with those all important Att-Boosts.)

2 Sorcery Points/LR? Whats LR?

I'm 99% sure they picked 2 metamagic points in order to prevent anyone from picking Heightened Spell. The power to impose Disadvantage on saves against some of the spells in the Warlock and Cleric spell lists for the cost of a feat is wild.

And LR is long rest.

Ah thanks. ^_^

Personally it is one of those feats I love to give away as a Downtime treat. Oh, you spent your two months off training with a master of the Arcane? Sounds like a perfect time to pick up this feat and a contact.

Just hope snow's not too intimidated to enter her own thread at this point, with that huge heap of applications and stuff =P

ElayneTrakand

Yes! Good luck to all, I adore all the characters submitted and do not envy Snow in the slightest!

If there are too many 'trainers' to share the princess at the same time. I can be there to provide a distraction while they are waiting their turn!

Rune

Good luck everyone! No hard feelings to those that make the cut. Have fun. It should be a great game!
