Approvals for pdragon, Chapeau and Cold Heritage.

We're also temporarily closing applications for femboys UNLESS you have already previously registered an interest above this post. We need some more miners to balance out all these cuties!

Are you planning on a technician of the femboy or Miner variety?

I think you know me well enough to know I mean the femboy kind. <3
Like what you see? I am currently looking for new plots!

Men in general judge more by the sense of sight than by that of touch, because everyone can see but few can test by feeling. Everyone sees what you seem to be, few know what you really are; and those few do not dare take a stand against the general opinion. Therefore it is unnecessary to have all the qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

Dubbed the "Oath of Drake,"
A noble philosophy; I adhere...for now.

Colour me interested for this.

Name: Thomas de Boer
Nicknames: Tommy, Bo
Age: 30
Gender & Sexuality: Male | Bisexual

Role: Miner (Chief Assembly Line Manager)
Motivation: Escaping poverty and violence
Titles: Daddy
Faceclaim: Audec

Appearance:
Thomas has a body fit for a breaker. Standing 6'3 with heavy set shoulders and a muscular frame sculpted by years of hard work. His dirty blonde hair is of medium length and kept slicked back. A neatly cut beard graces his strong jaw and stormy grey eyes are set into a scarred visage. The two lines mar his features, dragging themselves along from the right side of his forehead across his face to the opposite cheek. While not unsightly, they leave his otherwise handsome face broken up. This is somewhat negated by the almost constant wry smile he has. Another scar has left its damage upon his left pectoral, none to subtly conveying his past.

Personality:
Thomas is self assured, intelligent and just a little egotistical. He has an easy, confident manner and carries himself accordingly. Despite his rather hard outward appearance, Tom is warm and amicable to almost everyone he meets. This can be a little overbearing at times, something which passes him by more often than not. He is a social butterfly at heart, enjoying the company of others and the comradery built between those joined by tough circumstances. Whether it be working side by side with fellows, sharing a drink or risking what little money he has in a game of chance, he is happiest when around people. Filled with pride, he is slow to anger but explosive and unforgiving when incurred. Only made worse by its rarity and juxtaposition to his normal, approachable self.

With his limited education, Bo remains self-conscious of his intelligence. Or perceived lack there-of by others. Yet he does little to expand his mind, the environment he was raised in having promoted physicality over intelligence. A rule which has proved hard to unlearn for him.

History:
Thomas was born within Alliance space upon a planet designated E009 or 'Era' to its populus. He grew up in its largest city, or more specifically its favela like outskirts. A mass of poorly constructed buildings, tightly packed onto one another, housing far more people than should be possible. While it had initially been a temporary area set up to deal with an influx of migrants after a geological disaster decimated several other cities, it soon expanded and became far more permanent.

Within the heart of this unruly district, Bo's family was settled. While many viewed the area of one of violence, crime and poverty, Thomas never saw it like that. Not as a child at least. The strict curfew all of them obeyed without question was just how it was. The bodies in the streets were apart of the everyday. The cartel members who were openly armed were figures to admire. It was how it was.

His father was a minor figure within the Dlada Cartel, or had been before his death. His mother spent her days working in a small restaurant and caring for his two younger siblings, leaving the oldest de Boer to his own devices. This time was spent with his friends, committing petty crimes and trying to impress girls. Yet it was around this age that the gang violence escalated. The escalation which saw Bo's face split. It acted as a painful reality check and catalyst to his decision to get as far away from Era as possible.

He was twenty-two by the time he took up one of the advertisements for Shintech. To be cast to the outskirts of space seemed like a small price for a flight off planet. He settled in quickly, finding his place among the breakers. It was simple, straightforward work he could throw himself into. Days turned to weeks, to months, to years. When grumblings began,Thomas was among the initial workers pushing it into action, helping to spread the idea through the breaker room. He helped in several 'mechanical breakdowns' and in the wake of the successful negotiations found himself elevated to chief of the line. While he is somewhat skeptical about the companions, Bo is eager to experience a better rig.

Name: Edric "Mjölnir" Hennessy
Nicknames: Mjölnir (Often in jest), Ed, Eddy (condescendingly)
Age: 34
Gender & Sexuality: Cis Male, Bisexual (Kinsey 2)

Role: Miner (Foreman)
Motivation: Job Security. Proving himself worthy of his title.
Title: Name, Sir,
Master (Scene dependent)
Faceclaim: Archer (Emiya) Fate Stay Night

Appearance: Ed is solidly built, as expected of anyone with this kind of grueling work, but at six foot two he is hardly the largest in the mining crew. He is usually clean-shaven. His light hair is kept short for practicality and he's never been known to care much for its presentation. Unlike many of his coworkers, his body is largely unmarred, aside from a set equidistant scars that flank his upper spinal area. He spends a good amount of his pay gathering supplies to make him faster and safer on the job, which means he's usually wearing tight-fitting state of the art fabric meant to stabilize his body heat, among other things. If there's enough down time he can be caught wearing "normal" clothes.

Personality:
In stark contrast to his father, Edric was never a particularly outgoing or talkative person. In earlier years on R4-6NA, he came across as a bit shy, keeping his interests guarded in whatever bit of privacy he could muster. Since his promotion, his quiet has taken on a different meaning. He's more serious than before, focused on getting things done efficiently and safely. On the job he prioritizes each task and works the men as each cog in their oiled machine. Things that can wait until they return should. Unless they're being reckless, he won't begrudge the miners their levity but he rarely joins in. "There's real chance of death and dismemberment out here, keep your head in the game."

His loves, fears and follies are kept guarded, rarely shared with even those who are with him day in and day out. Instead, he presents himself as a consummate professional. Directing workflow on the job site and hearing the complaints and suggestions of his men while in transit or back with their deliveries. Considering it trivial, he doesn't have time for the bickering about companionship - these men knew what they were getting into when they signed on for this job. He will swiftly break up a bullheaded brawl if someone's stupid enough to start one around him. New to the supervising role, he already has reputation for being a stern disciplinarian, and for carrying a stun baton that will get the point across if his brain and brawn can't do it alone.

History:
Edric's father, Brent Hennessy, was a long-time miner; the kind of man who had earned the respect of a slew of men before he even came to head Ragna 1's original mining team. He was known as a fun boss, but one that knew just where to draw the line. It was his job to keep everyone safe and in line. His personality helped bolster morale through ongoing troubles brought on by uncaring corporate policies and procedure. He had been grateful for Conrad's initiative in arranging their strike, without such good leadership it all might have devolved into mayhem. Although Brent had seen the approaching light at the end of the tunnel, he didn't live to witness their "win" against Shintek. He had incurred a minor injury while out on one of his final jobs, but his advanced age combined with the sub-par medical resources lead to an ultimately fatal infection. Living past 50, he had already surpassed the life expectancy of many in his line of work so he tried to pass his plot as lucky to the others, though many still blamed the company, adding fuel to a dangerous and ravenous fire now that their food supply had been cut as well...

Edric was raised by his mother with two sisters in a small farm in the Federation of United Systems. This life of comfort was permitted due to the hard labor of his father that he was lucky to see more than twice during any given year of his youth. He had never viewed it as the privilege and luxury his ma had tried to bore into his brain. Stupid as any other youth, he only saw opportunity elsewhere. The good life wasn't secured human rights. It wasn't access to equal education. And it wasn't land of your own and the ability to reap the benefits you could sew therein. it was traveling, getting stronger, richer and making a name for yourself. The truth was, he didn't know how he could go about doing any of that, but he knew he had to do it somewhere else, with something else.

Ed attempted to find his purpose for a few years, sowing his wild oats out in greater pastures. His experiences gained him a better understanding of how life could be out in the rest of the universe but he still wasn't ready to swallow his pride and return home, besides he had taking an unexpected liking to being out in the black. He felt anxious when he staying in one spot for too long, almost like there wasn't enough sky to keep his spirit at ease. His father had suggested his line of work as a joke at first but Ed had leaped at the chance a little too eagerly. It certainly wasn't that he had planned to be a lifelong space collier like his dad, but it was a new opportunity. A good chance to start earning some money of his own after he had eaten so much into the account Brent had slaved for years to build for him.

So he joined the mining team on the 30 side of his 20's, luckily he hadn't yet lost the strength he had built up working on the farm as it had only begun to teach him the meaning of 'hard work'. Brent was a miner before Edric was even born, so he gave the boy the name of a mighty hammer from lore, if only for luck. Ed had thought nothing of his middle name until he started working with his father and soon became sick of it. Hardly anyone chose that line of work, let alone had their children follow in their footsteps. Ed fit into a role of "kid' in the group; he wasn't just his father's boy - several of the older miners nearly looked at him in that same light. He liked the camaraderie of the group but eventually decided to take just a step away from them.

Ed decided to switch to breaking. Being out from under his Dad's direct gaze sounded like a great plan, one that came with the bonus of doing a bit of treasure hunting. The new position let him get a little more "hands on" and learn more about the greater process involved in taking the resources in. Before long, Ed found himself believing it was a position he could settle into for a while. Sadly, his fate took a different path. Brent's death had happened at the worst time, leaving the division without leadership while everyone was starving and furious. When Shintech representatives finally stepped in to do damage control, filling that gap was one of the first things they did. The company was generous with condolences but also refused to take on any of the blame for Brent's death. They insisted Edric was the best person to fill his shoes. He wasn't so sure. He had asked them to reconsider, knowing there were several men with higher seniority. Of course, it was a tactical move on the company's end to appeal to the hearts of the crew. While the majority were happy to have him back, there's an air of unrest with the crew. Can it really be looked upon as nepotism with a job like this? Could the term even apply?

Ed just wants to get the job done. Maybe they won't have to lose another man if he can keep things as safe as his old man did.

Likes: Stars, reading, drawing, resistance and speed training, animals, music, food - especially spicy stuff and chocolate
Dislikes: Recklessness, scuttlebutt, cruelty, shellfish and polka music

Character Ons: Sincerity and enthusiasm, experimentation, BDSM, aftercare, Master/pet dynamic, ownership, emotional intimacy
Character Offs: Playing games, flattery, Non-Con (Consent will need to be understood, whether as desired or just part of the job), being called "Daddy"

Player O/o:  If you Insist

Extra: Ed often keeps a sketchbook on him. He does a lot of life drawing studies and art supplies are his only regular frivolous purchase other than good food.

Right ho! So! I'll ask Montagne later, but I can't see anything major! There are only three minor things I can see right now.

1) I understand that sexuality is a spectrum, but would you mind for ease of scanning (like, if we're just skimming the sheets) putting a generic label in his sexuality? You can keep the link, of course, this is just so it's easy to see where he leans at a glance. EG, "Bisexual (Kinsey 2)."

2) You missed out the "Titles" section between "Motivation" and "Faceclaim." Can you add that please, so we know what his preferred titles are?

3) "was a long-time minor" -- Might want to change that to "miner." xD

Other than that, I can't see anything pressing, but I'll chat to Montagne and get back to you :D

GM ANNOUNCEMENT

After a chat with Montagne, we've decided that since we now have a roughly even number of Fems and Mascs, we are going to REOPEN Femboy applications! This will be closed if we start to get a little top bottom-heavy, and vice versa.

Tomorrow, I will be creating and opening the Discord Server and the OOC Threads. Make sure you chat about how your boys know each other and what their relationships are like! The miners all know each other, obviously, and a lot of the femboys will know each other since they just spent a good month on a ship, travelling together.

The IC Threads will come on Wednesday, along with a guideline for how we're gonna be playing this.

Watch this space, and if you're on the fence, please PM me and Montagne with any questions or concerns <3

I mean, technically you weren't wrong. Everybody is a long time minor at some point :P
But yes, we will be opening second characters down the line. Not now, though; we want to get everybody into the game and settled, so starting with one character will keep it manageable for people :D But at some point in the future, second characters will be allowed. :-)

Sergeant:

Well, let us know when you know so we can reserve you a place! :D

Everyone:

I have posts for other games to write, then I'll be making the character threads, the OOC and the Discord Server. IC threads and a proper explanation of how the game will work will be up either tomorrow or Thursday <3
