Well, getting dusted with milkshake and silly string has paid off for him. His GoFundMe is making him bank. Provocation works! This is the way non-entities become heroes on the right.

Meanwhile, concentration camps on the border, the Saudis shredded a journalist in an embassy and we are still buddy-buddy with them, in fact trying to start a war with Iran on their behalf, and Trump is parading around into North Korea, further cementing Kim Jong Un's power.

So you do think antifa are probably not the best judges of who is or isn't a fascist then?

It depends on the organization. Antifa is a loose movement of hundreds of different local organizations. Many of them are very good judges of who is or isn't a fascist. How to prevent fascists from causing harm and enacting further genocides and violence can vary from organization to organization. Do you think identifying a fascist as such is morally wrong to do? There are definitely people who do misidentify fascists, but I tend to find that more common with authoritarian communists, while antifascists are largely in line with anti-authoritarian communism, socialism, and leftism. Fascist can get thrown around a lot willy nilly, antifascists don't tend to be the ones doing it as much though it of course happens. It's more likely to happen in online arguments as those are more commonly very bad faith.

You want to try that without the loaded questioning?  Also, eliminate double negatives where-ever possible.

Yes, if those doing the identifying are unaccountable, will enact violence upon those they identify, and there exists no means of redress for those wrongly identified and subsequently victimised.

I don't see what's loaded about it. Clearly, there's plenty of people out there who think the presence of antifa is desirable. Therefore, it's fair enough to assume they place a great deal of stock in antifa's ability to correctly determine the fascists amongst us

I'd also recommend eliminating unwarranted hyphens wherever possible too.  :P

I think I will stop responding as perhaps this conversation isn't leading anywhere positive. I think my statements have been pretty clear and I don't want to fill the news thread with a ton about a news story I think is really lacking in clarity on the series of events and full context of the matter.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/laverne-cox-black-trans-women-murders_n_5d176a26e4b03d61163c227c

Laverne Cox recently made a statement for the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and the Gay Rights movement. It was about the erasure and violence and hatred faced specifically by black transgender women, who are in essence the main founders of the movement.

As it is Pride Month an important aspect of discussions, rainbow capitalism, the exploitation of LGBTQIA+ communities by corporations using them to make money and for marketing, though also the positives that can come with being considered a large consumer group and being valued because of it. It is always a complicated discussion.

What the actual fuck, Alabama.

This is insane. Whether someone is conservative, moderate, or liberal, everyone can and should acknowledge how dangerous this precedent Alabama is trying to set is for pregnant women.

Yeah I posted that story on the previous page. Guess no one reads my posts ^^  It is insane. And it sets a very very dangerous precedent, but i guess they want us women barefoot in the kitchen making babies.

But hey, I got more insane news.

https://www.theroot.com/black-patient-arrested-after-security-guard-accuses-him-1835990207

A patient in hospital was cleared by the doc to take a walk outside. So he did, with an IV and those cute sexy hospital gowns. But being black he was clearly up to no good so a brave security guard stopped him and accused him of basically trying to steal the IV and sell it on E-bay. So police was called, the iv and the inhaler removed and he was taken to the police department. Patient passed out on route due to you know.. not having his emergency inhaler since he had double pneumonia.

In the end he wasn't charged for theft but disorderly conduct.

WTF.

Sometimes I don't respond to stuff since there's just, it's so miserable and depressing and it's a thing where I feel disgusted even trying to use a joke to cope with it.

Regarding the black man arrested for taking a walk with an IV, as a resident of Illinois, yeah that checks out. Though Freeport is perhaps different I haven't been there specifically the cops in Illinois tend to be like this. Though in Chicago they might not have done this despite the CPD being abysmal, just that there's tons of hospitals there and people walking with IV's in gowns is a fairly common sight. What would make more sense would be to just check and make sure the person didn't wander or get lost. And it's obvious that he is a patient, still had his wrist band.

Teacher names Adolph Hitler as favourite person in history.

Quote“Adolf Hitler, who did many great things for Germany, and their youth, before the infamous Holocaust.

“Adolf was ousted and faced many hardships early in life, which a lot of people can relate to.

“Adolf is arguably the greatest public speaker in the history of the world. Adolf made many great strides to make Germany a world super power.”

Of course they try and defend it by saying:

QuoteIn a school-wide letter, Sanders wrote Mr Acor’s statement was “incomplete” and “mistakenly taken out of context”.

How the FUCK do you take that out of context? Was everything Hitler did evil? No of course not, he liked dogs for instance as the old saying goes. But come the fuck on, how can you even try to defend this shit!!?? So tired of people claiming things where taken out of context when it is super fucking clear exactly what the context is.

The fuck is wrong with this country.

There's really only one context in which it would be okay to say, which is if they're quoting someone else or speaking of a hypothetical statement or playing a character. "'Hitler was good actually,' is what a bad person would say." Perhaps he had a heated teaching moment.

https://www.twitch.tv/bernie_sanders

Though seeing the name Sanders, a sort of weird thing recently is Bernie Sanders has started streaming on twitch. It's just streams of his public speaking and stuff. Which is important, though a part of me was really hoping to just see him playing like some obscure game he's for some reason really amazing at while reading out donations and talking about anecdotes of stuff he deals with every day like what his grocery store is like. It can be seen as inserting politics into Twitch streaming and a gaming platform, but it's more so branching out with stuff like possibly adding networks, physical sports, and already many political streams exist on twitch just by figures who aren't a presidential candidate. Youtube has its own streaming an political streams are everywhere there, so it's not that surprising Twitch would have something like this. Whether Bernie is a partner or affiliate has yet to be seen, and whether or not there will be a Presidential Twitch Rivals is unknown.

Facebook's Civil Rights Audit has released a report, that is a mixture of praise for some advancements and heavy criticism of the company. Many Civil Rights Leaders have been heavily critical of the audit, which they feel was way too soft and that it won't bring any useful or meaningful change. Various different organizations have weighed in such as SPLC, ACLU, and more. This is definitely not a Facebook only issue, Social Media platforms in general have been absolutely terrible about protecting users, preventing the growth of hate groups and terrorism on their platforms, and preventing harassment and harm.

Ohh Lord, say it isnt so. The girl's too attractive to die... (blows nose)
Ahem, on a more serious note, thats just sickening, if she was eight months in, the assailants would have known she was pregnant, and attacked her brutally anyway.

Though it's good you included the 'on a serious note' section afterwards, for the record, the manner of jest beforehand about the victim's looks was in very poor taste and not particularly appropriate.

I am aware people often try to cope with dark or difficult news stories with humor, but this was not a particularly good way to do that.

On a different note:

I know how the schools & their administrations/boards are in the southeastern portion of Oklahoma, so I'm not exactly surprised to see something like this. Though the fact OSBI is getting involved is good; at least it's being taken seriously. General corruption at the local level can get bad in some of the smaller towns. :/

A bit surprising that the Desperate Cheeto folded so quickly, but it was announced by the Department of Justice earlier today that the census forms would start printing without the citizenship question included.  The Supreme Court last week had sent the case back down the chain for "more information", which effectively killed the issue since July 1st is generally considered the deadline for being able to get the census printed in large enough quantities, but our tribble-wearer in chief had threatened to try and delay the census to work through the appeals once again just yesterday.

Monkeying with the census is a GOP thing, not a Trump thing, though. I'm surprised they're backing down and expect this to be a feint or ruse. Breaking rules, or comity, or any other method, in order to get as many representatives as possible into office has been the Republican goal for at least two decades. They were able to win in 2010 off of gay panic and hatred of Obama (and Obamacare) in a big way, which lead to a lot of state legislatures, governorships, and national seats won. In turn this enabled them to redraw districts like crazy, gerrymander like crazy. These efforts go hand-in-hand with voter caging and disenfranchisement -- they know they are becoming a minority party, but are working to ensure they never lose power.

The census question was a next part in this. If they can effectively obliterate a healthy chunk of the population, they can reduce the number of reps most blue states get.
