The story of the leader's half brother getting sneaked up on and poisoned in a big airport by two attractive women agents..sounds like vintage James Bond, doesn't it? What normal spooks agency would choose a big, crowded airport building as the venue for a head-on assassination? ^_ ^

Under what definition does anything about North Korea, particularly its spook agencies, qualify as 'normal'? ;D

Well, when you've been around to a couple of big international airports it's plain why people rarely pick them as the scene for a murder - at least not if they want to get away. Everything about a place like Charles de Gaulle in Paris or (I suppose) JFK makes it super hard to get out fast and unnoticed after you've killed somebody - as long as it didn't happen next to a runway...  :D

And even more so if it's in a country with a different language than your own. Malay and Korean aren't even related, or even written with the same script.

Depends on the poison, I suppose.  There's the classic 'locked room' technique of administering the fatal tonic and covering it up by playing the part of 'concerned/panicked bystander' as chaos erupts.

Well, the big assumption there is that 'getting away' was part of the mission plan. It might be a nice personal perk on the part of the assassins, but I can't imagine NK's state security caring about a little detail like the lives/livelihoods of their agents compared maximizing the success odds of the hit.

Oh god this is such a bad idea.

Though maybe it can get more of the gun community rallying against trump. IF anything happens we can blame him rather than the guns.

The other day I heard that, while Pence was booked on several networks, CNN was only offered Conway for the same 'do. They declined. Perhaps that was a move for the WH to start isolating CNN, but it seems to be backfiring on them.

The Trump administrations forgets that The press is the Fourth Power. And it is the only power that has just as much of the Public's ear as the church....well actually these days the Media now has more of the publics ear than religion. (For better and/or for worse).

It kind of makes me wonder if that's the reason Trump has tried for a while now to convince the public that the media is crooked.  It seems like everyone involved with Trump knew that at some point things would start to unravel, and by them trying to paint the media as bad, the public wouldn't believe the media when the truth of Trump's deception started to come to light.

Bingo! If they can convince the public that the media is fake/lying then they can spin their actions however they want and the public will not believe the truth.

Divide and conquer. Make us distrust the media, each other, have us focused on anything but the truth.

And sadly with how the media (of both sides) Has been behaving, they are making it easy for them to do so :/

I  don't know. Somehow it seems almost unnecessary. A lot of people live in "media bubbles" anyway. If you get your news from Fox you won't trust CNN anyway, and vice versa, to name just one example. I don't think that will change much if Trump calls certain news organisations "fake news" or not.

Sometimes during the campaign my impression was that Trump's goal in attacking the media was more to paint himself as the only trustworthy person around, and less to restrict the power of the Forth Estate. The effect may be the same in the end, but the motivation is a bit different, i.e. bringing someone down not as a goal in itself, but bringing someone down so he himself can look more important.

I am still waiting for SNL to parody Trump by giving an absolutely coherent, logical performance.  ;)

Saw a news anchor at the BBC saying "Trump has been holding court for the past hour, rambling from one topic to the next". That seems to have been the accurate word.  ;)

That's Cenk. :)

I've been getting a fair share of my news about America from TyT over the past few years, and I generally find that they do a great job of delivering the raw story first, and then weaving their spin into it afterwards. By that I mean that they're definitely a very left-leaning organization, but they're very up front about what's opinion and what's fact. I don't always agree with them, as I believe that they may, at times, exaggerate progressive views to the point where I (As a self-identifying progressive) can't identify with them.

For what it's worth, consider this my endorsement of the TyT network. >.<
