https://youtu.be/XYTa5xDhqpc this is what I picture a high fellowship techpriest to be.

Idej

I giggled at that video thanks

I really needed that.

So my next favorite character is Ahriman.  I really like the character alot.

how do you portray a techpriest with that level of fellowship?

One of the characters in Graham McNeill's Priests of Mars series is a very good representation of a high fellowship Tech Priest.

TheLaughingOne

Thats the one of them heqded ohtside the galaxy in uber ship? Follows rogue trader, black knights, eldar, imperial guard, and civilians that got picked up to work on the ship?

And best high fellow Tech ive seen is actually Vex from the dark heresy novels, chipper and friendly, even with occasional attempt at jokes makes him very likeable.

I don't think so. It was announced .. last year? .. that Adeptus Titanicus / Epic would be returning, so I suspect it's more a tie in with that than anything else.

I'm just irritated they're supposed to be changing the scale from 6mm to 8mm, which means all the epic models I still have are going to look odd compared to new stuff.

??? ??? ??? ???

They're changing from a standard wargaming scale to a custom scale. So...you can't use extant non-Citadel models? G-Dubs? No way!!!

Doesn't mean it's not stupid.... >:(

Yep!

One of the Tech Priests is a next-level math savant who is also deliberately holding on to her humanity.

Does she keep it in an Omnissiah-approved storage receptacle under her bed? :)

That was beautiful.

TheLaughingOne

I remember that one! Though... Never read the 3rd :T heard Nothing good about it and scared me off...

And i remember the girl! She was the clone of an arch magos that randomly went female instead of male like was suppose to, and he on a whim kept her and raised as daughter.. Kinda. Tech priest raised. She chose to keep her implants unobtrusive, either being made to continue resembling human anatomy rather then giant chunks of metal stapled on, or just forgo certain ones.  Also remember she had some of her emotional centers carved out, and was Very blunt and such, hehe, rogue trader who made his interest known got shot down quick... though, yeah, could do pretty high Fellow. Another was from one book.. cant remember which one, but a blood angels successor chapter and the Novamarines team up to destroy a space hulk infested with tyranid, but techs show up with writ from lords of terra saying they can recruit anybody in search of STCs, and their target was the hulk. Guy leading them looked mostly human and for most part, aside from his willingness to throw everybody at a hulk full of tyranid and potentially letting it smash into a cluster of planets... was an ok ish guy. cept turns out his "face" was pretty much an animatronic mask over a brain bubble so he could "communicate better with lesser beings"

Random question..

Anybody else, while reading crap scifi stories or such just imagine them getting blended with 40k..? Just to see the annoying badly written characters wasted? (Or on occasion, properly done villians who deserve a horrible demise..)

One im reading now has a bunch of space peta/anti gmo assholes going on about "sanctity of virgin worlds" and how its acceptable for people to die without the medical supplies or foodstuffs gotten via genetic manipultion.. and all i can think is..

"Well, here you go dipshits. A nice virgin world for you. Its called Catachan. Enjoy. Oh! See that thirty meter long bastard child of a centipede on steroids and a scorpion on steroids? That is NOT the most dangerous creature on the planet. That title belongs to that little frog thing over there."

*Ribbit*

"... And now we are all going to die."

... does thst mean we are safe from the giant scorpioede?
"Ahahahha oh god no. They tend to just flip out and attack tank companies. Not just one or two of the tanks. But the whole company. And win. We are safe in that its smart enough not to get close to the toad. But thats like saying "if i douse myself in raw energized plasma nobody can punch me." The only consolation we have is that everything.. EVERYTHING in 2.5 kilometers will die with us. No matter what it is. Even a daemon primarch. Even if held inside an adamantine shell several meters thick, wrapped in a void shield, and in a stasis field inside the adamantine."

There's only one escape from the hives and manufactorums!

TheGlyphstone

That implies manufactorum workers are permitted to enlist - they're needed in their job, else why would the Imperium have put them there? They only get to join the Guard if they're told to.

TheLaughingOne

Wrong!!

Manufactorum workers are allowed to enlist, and people who willinglu enlist are generally treated better then drafts, conscripts, and voluntolds (gangers who get tackled by sergeants and told "congrats on your promotion to private!")

There was actually a world that got major censure because they tried to pass volunteers as part of their guard tithe, which is a nono. Lots of guard enlisted cause it was that, starving in a gang with no prospects, or join the guard, get geared up, better chances at eating regularly, and if you serve yoir time the wage you saved, and "top" tier citizenship on planet you end up on.

Some save enough to ship home, but usually reenlist as they find out their 10 years served, with the time fuckery of the warp, was actually about 2 centuries real time.. or on rare occasion its 10 years before they enlisted.

Staying on planet puts you in yeoman for most troops, corporeals and sergeants are low level aristos, and officers that dont return home are high class aristos to nobility by rank.

That depends on world of course... settle on some new "untouched" or rebuilding world it actually means something. On a hive or some other where you helped jold off rebellion, maybe not so much..

still, not all bad compared to manufactorum where youll die the same position you were born in a hundred different ways, guard you might die horribly as a sergeant in millions of different ways!!

Well, played a sober game of 40k, and we finished, though i got whooped.

Poor communication brought me with primaris raven guard backed by a knight with armigers, (batallion+heavy support) against a swarm of leman russ annihilators and conqourers, a couple chimera, handful of guard, and hellhound.

Ambush scenario and me defending. I got hammered. He had first go and with no cover almost got my knight dusted in very first round as he had a ton of thinhs that just let him pour on las fire and plasma. And of course my troops were setup to take on infantry.

He didnt tell me his list and assumed i knew his force was going to be almost all tanks. Still managed to take out a couple of his things, but it was pretty much unwinnable for me, only had to get off the board, but he had line of buildings with all his tanks filling the gaps.

Primaris lack of heavy weapons really hurt, the stalker rifles worked well, specially with raven guards being difficult to hit at range. Inceptors were actually good, though pricy, no real use melee cept to tie up, but just those three guys can pour on about 18 s5, ap-1 d1 hits while moving fairly well.

Knights are... yeah. Way to pricy. Thermal lance was nice, but feel the rapid fire battle cannon would have done better as its more chances to hammer with only slightly lower stats.

Think i would have done better with my blood angels who have more options melee, and can manuver around faster. Think ill shelf my knights til codex comes out, best one is just bit to expensive.

Other news got my centurions in. Going to magnetize the weapons, but main setup will be serg with twin heavy bolters, and 2 others with pair of lascannons.

Thoigh raises a question. The hellfire bolt stratagem, how does that work for centurions? They are infantry, but have 2 heavy bolters, does the effect only apply to a single on or both?

Effect is you only make a single attack roll, but if it hits it does d3 mortal wounds automaticly. Thoughts?

Mind you i felt hosed to start, but still enjoyed the game, spec after we talked and he gave me good pointers on army building and tactics. Both agree primaris sniperd could be deadly against troops if used right (high ground and cover ftw)

Since Age of Sigmar chat has been opened in the forums.  Just want to say, am working on doing some conversions with Witch Aelves and Drukhari Wyches, and using some of the female Vampire Lords to make an Archon.
