And how do you feel about character once having had a holocron?  Or at least talked to one long enough for a goal/force trick to be inspired in working on?

You can chat up Pumpkin Seeds and I'm sure she can help. If Soresu Defender gives melee it'll be good for you too. I think either brawl or unarmed is the name for fighting barehanded, pick a class that has that.

I'm fine with her having come across one but not actually having the holocron at the moment. I'm kind of trying to pull a thing where lightsabers, holocrons, and other Jedi stuff gets a bit of mystique because i don't use them a ton.

I did some fiddling to fit the power fist/gear in with some actual Brawl ability. Must have missed the 5 spare points somewhere in there. Also, yes the 1+1s are the career and specialization stacking. If that's how it's supposed to work?

Wait no... I'm being dumb that's a 10 XP difference. I'll double check the Math and edit accordingly if he still has some stuff I can add to him.

You are correct, though the maximum you can have at start is still two. Funny, I thought Ganks had some racial skill bonuses...

Well they get one rank in either Vigilance or Coercion I think(I picked Vigilance) and an extra 5,000 credits for equipment that has to be used on cybernetics.

I'm adding this to the OP, but, I plan on starting us on Nar Shaddaa. Due to the timeline, the supernova that destroyed the trade route to Nar Shaddaa is recent, but did happen. Additionally, the Sith are now gathering resources to establish the Sith Academy that the book proclaims they put there. So, for whatever reason, give your character a reason to go to a place that is a hub of anonymity, and a place where the seedy underbelly is, well, actually it's just the entire body is seedy.

A place to hide, but also to get involved in shady dealings and possibly stumble across Sith plots? Boy, that just slots right into the end of my character submission's backstory.

If he watched Sith assassins kill his mentor, and then the planet he ends up fleeing to happens to have some working on something nefarious, I could see him getting involved in that.

Do you mean does Soresu Technique work with melee?  It does not.  Guardian does offer melee as a career skill though.

Well Falleen change their skin tone I believe.  So no reason it has to be green.  Could just be a picture where her tone changed to be more appealing.
