I figure interested people will submit characters and I'll cut it down to a party of 4/5. So just throw it in.

Description:  Normally, Alexianna's skin is a pale gray, almost a marble in color.  Delicate and sooth, it's easy to overlook the scaled features that mark her as a Falleen.  Her skin tone has been known to range to many near-human ranges, and also redden to a pinkish hue, especially in situations that seem more... intimate.  She often dresses to flaunt her form, either in tight sheathes or flowing layers.  She's not one for pants or tight blouses, but often dresses, gowns, skirts, and tops that flash lots of skin.

Background:  As far as anyone knows, Lexi (she hates that nickname, but it stuck) was just another orphan on a shit world like Nar Shadaa.  Gutter trash, she raised herself by her bootstraps, after stealing someone's boots.  She quickly learned to get by on her looks, even from a young age, but as she grew up, she started to have a bit more ambition for herself than just surviving.  While she still uses a bit of a pretty face, she managed to attach herself to some of the cartels, working odd jobs and often turning negotiator or mediator.

That's... the party line, as it were.  Alexianna simply showed up on the door step of a seedy bar one day, dressed like she had just come from turning tricks.  She had charmed one of the bouncers, than the bartenders, and finally got some time with one of the managers.  They were impressed enough to in turn introduce her to one of the local outfits... and she's been going since then.  She has a way with words, a knack for saying the right thing.  Beautiful and exotic, she's able to distract and attract all at once, and some say her ability with a turn of phrase is nearly as mystical as a turn of her other assets.  Not that anyone has ever been able to actually confirm that last part.

Personality:  Ambitious.  There isn't a single person who hasn't met Alexianna that wouldn't agree.  She wants... something.  She plays her cards close to her chest though, and no one knows exactly what she wants.  Most assume she wants to move up the ranks in Nar Shadaa, and certainly the way she made her appearance, that's what it seems.  Street rat turned crime lord?  She could easily be ambitious enough for it.  She's manipulative nearly all the time, and hard to take anything she says at face value; she's spent so long telling people exactly what they need to hear that it's become almost a natural state for her.

If anyone sees anything out of place, or can suggest changes?  I couldn't really think of anything gear wise, aside from an odd assortment of not-so-legal and generally useful tech gear.  The Stingbeam is a REALLY tiny holdout blaster.

I'm seeing 100 XP spent, if that's the number you had then well done.

Nope, she only has 95.  Had to drop vigilance.  Blech.

Description:  Ilar'Ven is smaller than average, to the point that he looks like  3/4 scale model of a full grown adult Twi'lek.  Coming in at a hulking 1.5 meters, he is frequently taken for a child.  His skin is grey, which presents a startling contrast to his almost luminous amber eyes.  He wears nothing but black, accenting himself with gold.  He has a number of decorative tattoos.

Background: Ilar'Ven wasn't born with the name he goes by; it was given to him.  He doesn't even remember his birth name or his parents.  All he's ever known is slavery.  He was treated very much like a pampered pet, which separated him from the majority of the other slaves.  It wasn't a safe position to be in.  Where he was frequently viewed as being privileged, he was the one who bore the brunt of his Zabrak mistress' frustrations.  He was rarely fully dressed and was frequently naked, except for the adornments he was made to wear.  He was constantly in a state of fear but learned to roll with the punches and to rely on his own skills and native cunning to survive.

He was attending his mistress when she was visiting a Hutt with whom she'd had frequent business dealings.  When the Hutt introduced his racing slave, the Zabrak laughed at his unassuming appearance, saying that her slave chauffeur could probably beat him in a race.  The Hutt, offended, demanded that the race take place, with the loser facing execution.  Ilar'Ven expected to die at the end of the race but half way through the course and well behind, he felt a sudden oneness with his speeder.  He made up the distance he'd fallen behind and won by half a speeder length.  Displeased, the Hutt made Ilar'Ven execute his opponent.  Knowing what would happen if he hesitated, he squeezed the trigger immediately.  Impressed with his ruthlessness and speed, the Hutt offered to buy him from the Zabrak.  She refused to sell.

That decision sealed both of their fates. Ilar'Ven was savagely punished for doing exactly what he'd been asked to do.  He was subject of a number of kidnapping attempts and was forced to start carrying a blaster to fend off attackers.  The relationship between the Hutt and the Zabrak deteriorated to something just short of open war.  Finally, to deny the Hutt any sort of victory in the matter, the Zabrak took the unusual step of setting him free.  On his own for the first time and able to determine his own future, he is determined to rise above his beginnings and become something greater than he was.

Personality: Ilar'Ven is quiet and tends towards submissiveness when faced with strong females but does not react this way to men.  It is a tendency he fights with all his will, because he hated his time as a slave.  That doesn't stop him from dropping to the floor in a submissive posture.  He wants to explore his seemingly newfound ability as a pilot.  He isn't particularly sympathetic towards the plight of other slaves.  He wants to rise above his former life as a slave but his former lifestyle has left him with the idea that rising above his station would include owning slaves of his own.  He's not fully comfortable with killing but he's more than willing to do so in order to save his own life.  Killing to save someone else's light is not a concept that has come up for him.

Quite the Twi'lek! Very well done. Loving it already. Remind me to throw in a swoop race or at least a good chase or two. Also the light blaster, is that a pistol of some kind?

Light Blaster Pistol from page 167 of the Force and Destiny book.

DDC Defender Sportster specifically.  Leia's weapon just before she gets captured in the original Star Wars.

I figured it was something like that, I just wanted to make sure it was what I thought it was. Not a bad selection, either.

Also, default to being freed unless you want to have been given by someone in the eventual party. No one would be expecting him to be cut loose, which honestly may have been his mistress's plan-as a free agent, everyone's going to be clamouring to get him with his reputation, so muddying the waters by making EVERYONE compete for you may have been the plan all along.

With only 4-5 people being selected and my experience with the system modest at best, I'll bow out.  Thanks for the chance Angie and good luck

I know you wanted to keep lightsabers quite mystical and low, but Abigail will be wanting to get a real one as soon as she can.

I have zero experience with this system (unless you count knowing somebody who plays it.  Stick around, Blackstone.  Learning can be fun.

He's a small guy, so I went with a small, elegant looking weapon.

I will edit the background to reflect his freedom, since none has expressed interest in owning him.

Some might see his victory as a fluke, some might see it as a sign of future ability.  Certainly the come from behind victory caught a lot of attention.

The only thing I can think for owning him is if somehow Abigail got ownership.   She would set him free but be humorous if he still considered her his owner.

Cataclysmic Archangel

I could totally see Lexi wanting her own slave, especially if he's cute.  But she has no use/need for a racer, or even a pedestrian chauffeur.

I liked the MMO until they decided that your class storyline meant nothing, right around the time they did the xpacs and the 'Outlander'.

Huh. Hadn't realized that.  I've plenty of characters on it but have yet to actually settle on a class so none are all that far.  <.<  >.>

Do you mean does Soresu Technique work with melee?  It does not.  Guardian does offer melee as a career skill though.

Thanks!  Guess it is martial artist then. Their parry works unarmed/melee/lightsaber.

Now to find a race and figure this stuff out. 3 races a pdf is very goofy. Oh.
Is http://www.d20radio.com/content/EOTE_species_menagerie.pdf  permitted?

I'd found a race list and while it does seperate out the player usable races it has that book in it. Despite the fact that about half the races are now in official books.

Captain Whitebread

Sure, now people speak up about owning him.  lol

Would Lexi have use for a bodyguard (aka soft cover)?  His pic is up.  Would she find him cute?

If Abigail bought and freed him, he'd be grateful but suspicious, waiting for the other shoe to drop.  He'd certainly act as if she owned him, until he figured out how to break a lifetime of conditioning or realized he could just walk away.

His main problem is he has very few marketable skills and not a lot of money.

While a lot of it does seem pretty balanced, I tend to shy away from anything 'unofficial'. I'm gonna decide it on a case-by-case, so tell me what you're considering and I'll make a judgement call.

I'm fine with her having come across one but not actually having the holocron at the moment. I'm kind of trying to pull a thing where lightsabers, holocrons, and other Jedi stuff gets a bit of mystique because i don't use them a ton.

Bah. Missed this! Sorry.

Yeah, no actual holocron on hand. Was just thinking of ways for a ganger to have been inspired/learned some jedi tricks that doesn't envolve being dragged off to one of the academies. A few lessons/stories from a warrior of old coupled with the revelation that 'hey there's tons more crap out there' should be enough to make them want MORE then they have.

@Captain Whitebread interesting take on a driver there! Be interesting to see how freedom and being chased is going to change him.

This race and the cathar are what caught my eye. But there's plenty of official stuff. The squib just seem like a fun/funny race ta play.

Angie

Cathar and Squib look decent enough, not too much unbalanced bullhocky. I'll give 'em an okay.

A squib would be shorter than Ilar'Ven.  That would be something he's not used to.  Always loved the Cathar.

Personally, I think a Squib bargaining to hire him as a driver would be hilarious to watch.

Ilar'Ven: How is it that I ended up with a job where I have to PAY to drive the vehicle, rather than getting paid to dive the vehicle?  This isn't a job, it's slavery.  No, it's worse than slavery!  I didn't think anything was worse than slavery!  I need a job to pay for my job.

Pumpkin Seeds

Could try an Aggressor or Warden as your initial spec Hexed.

KirbysFolly

Pumpkin Seeds: Yeah, it could be that the two characters' mentors knew (of) each other. Maybe Tav and his mentor were supposed to be heading to Nar Shaddaa to meet your character and her mentor, before things went sideways for everybody?

Captain Whitebread: I think Tav would make an unlikely choice for an owner of your character, as he's pretty anti-slavery after his time around the Arkanian Offshoots. That said, if Illar'Ven's owner wanted somebody to serve as a dupe to get rid of Illar'Ven without looking as much like she was deliberately scorning the Hutt, he could probably serve that role well enough.

Pumpkin Seeds

Abigail is looking for her mentor as well.  She was last seen fighting a Sith on a ship in hyperspace.  I had an idea that maybe her Master and yours were very close and perhaps Master Lien (Abigail's Master) was also trying to hunt down the assassins ?  Just an idea and such.  Could also mean our characters spent some time training together or at least sparred a bit.

I don't know.  Freeing him would certainly be seen as scorning the Hutt.  Selling him for less than he was worth would be virtually the same thing, with the bonus that his mistress would get credits out of the deal.

http://www.ugavine.com/slaves.htm this link leads to the only information I have been able to find regarding slaves in a Star Wars RPG.  It splits them up into Types, like droids.  Obviously not 100% compatible but certain there has to be some useful information (costs etc)
