Supernaturals in New Orleans (The Originals/ TVDU)

New Orleans, a city with many cultures and an even bigger history. A city with many secrets. A city that is home to many supernatural creatures. Vampires. Werewolves. Witches. Hybrids. They live among humans, keeping the truth hidden from them. But there are humans who know the truth. Some of them have no issues living amongst these creatures. Others, however, aren’t so open minded and try to wipe out the supernatural community. Even the supernatural creatures themselves don’t always get along, fighting each other. There’s even fighting among the same species. Different clans and covens vying for power to rule over New Orleans.

Founded by the Mikaelson family, the original Vampires, New Orleans was once theirs. But they are no longer Lord and Master, their rule and power contested by other vampire clans, and even other supernatural creatures.

To make things even more complicated and challenging strange things have been happening in New Orleans lately. A few people have been found dead, all supernaturals of different species and there are a few supernaturals who claim that someone, or something, was after them, though none of them could identify the suspect. Something dark and mysterious is threatening the supernatural community, and no one knows what it is, yet. It has many supernaturals on edge and the fear can be felt.

Politics. Intrigue. Betrayal. Secrets and mysteries. Magic. But also friendship and love. Powerful bonds.

With a new threat lurking in the darkness, will you be able to set aside your differences? To forge new alliances and fight together, joining forces. Or will you try and take advantage of this threat and use it for your own benefit?

Maybe you’ll even find love in the most unexpected corner of the many streets this mysterious and wondrous city has to offer.

-Due to the nature of this game it will be placed in the Non-consensual Exotic area of the forum.
-Setting: Modern time, in the universe of The Vampire Diaries, in the city of new Orleans, inspired by The Originals.
-This is a freeform sandbox game. There will be an underlying plot run by the GM’s which players are encouraged to participate in, but players are free to create and write their own stories within the boundaries of the game.
-Characters: Players can join as a human, vampire, werewolf, witch or hybrid. With a current maximum of three characters per player. Both canon and non-canon characters from The Originals series are allowed.
-Anyone is welcome to join. We are LGBTQ+ friendly and do our best to be as inclusive as possible.

Clan or Coven: Alpha of Crescent Wolf Clan and Part of the Mikaelson Family.

Your connection to New Orleans: Live in New Orleans now, but was originally born there as part of the Crescent Wolf Clan. Was taken away from it when her family was killed.

Occupation: Crescent Wolf Alpha, keeping her pack and her family safe.

Personality: Hayley can be a bit of a tomboy, doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty. She is tough, and fierce especially if you mess with those she cares for. Don’t let her playfulness trick you, as she does always have other things going on in her head. Unless you are part of the few that she truly loves and cares for, she will have no issue turning on you to get what she wants.

There is a lot to Hayley that may seem like carelessness or immaturity, but don’t think that she doesn’t know what she is doing.

Background story: There is a lot to Hayley’s story, if you have seen the shows you know most of it.

She was born as Andrea Labonair, to her Parents who were were part of the Labonair Family one part of the Royal Families that Ruled the Crescent Wolf Clan. Her parents were killed, and she was taken by Marcel Gerard who had her Clan cursed by the witches. Giving her to Father Kieran, who found her a new home.

She became Hayley Marshall, when new parents adopted her. And she was raised knowing nothing about who she was or what she was. That was until she had been on a drunken boat trip, and accidentally killed someone at 13. That triggered her wolf curse, and she ended up having her first transformation in her parents living room. They kicked her out after that.

From there she was on her own most of the time, joining up with other wolf packs but never staying too long. There was all the fun when she made it to Mystic Falls, and got in with Tylor for a bit. Ended up meeting Klaus, they hook up eventually and she gets Pregnant. Then she finally makes it to New Orleans, and all the fun with the witches and her pregnancy and the fun and drama with the Mikaelson family.

And in the end, at least ended up with a beautiful daughter Hope Mikaelson which basically ties her to the Mikaelson family forever of course among other things. In the process of giving birth, she turns into a Hybrid which is from her own daughters line. Then there is the fact that she is now the Alpha of the Crescent Wolf Clan, and the possibility of marrying Jackson if that come into play in this RP.

Character’s Ons and Offs: Hayley I could see being into many things, other then most normal offs like bathroom stuff. At times she could like it rough, but figure with the right person sweet and romantic isn’t too bad either.

Clan: Elijah is an Original vampire of Clan Mikaelson. His loyalties have always been to his siblings, mainly Klaus and Rebekah in the last few centuries. He has unrequited feelings for Hayley, but is too proper to interfere in her life.

Your connection to New Orleans: As a Mikaelson he lived here and now has returned with Klaus and Rebekah. He views New Orleans fondly as one of his favourite homes. It has a soul to it that is unique and appeals to him as a musician.

Occupation: As an Original Vampire, Elijah has used his experience and intellect in buying land and making investments over the years. Currently he has vast personal wealth and is a patron of the arts.

Personality: Elijah is described as unpredictable, over-protective and stubborn, but also very kind, intelligent, selfless, empathetic, compassionate, and friendly. He is extremely loyal and has a loving nature. He strongly believes in trust, honesty and loyalty and whenever he would give his word to someone, he would keep it, as he has said "I'm a man of my word". Elijah has been known to break deals but only to protect his family, as he did by turning from what he'd promised the Salvatore brothers and Elena when Klaus convinced him not to kill him by telling him their siblings were still alive and in his possession; or when he realized he'd been lied to, such as in his deal with Sophie Deveraux. He has a lot of respect and admiration for human life, which is unseen in many other vampires and is normally very reluctant to kill anyone when unnecessary.

Background story: Elijah Mikaelson is the third-born of Mikael and Esther's children, born in an area of the New World that would come to be known as Mystic Falls, Virginia. Elijah's parents fled from Europe, with his older brother, Finn, and a few others after the supposed death of his older sister, Freya, from the plague while Esther was pregnant with Elijah. His mother lied to him, his father and the rest of the Mikaelson family. His older sister was actually taken by his aunt. Elijah was the first of their children to be born in the New World, followed by three brothers, Klaus, Kol and Henrik, and a sister, Rebekah.

The loss of his first born had hardened Mikael and he proved to be a very strict father, who was feared by all his children. Elijah had a close relationship with his mother, who once mentioned to him that, when she was pregnant with him, she would have Freya sing to him. This was one of the few times Esther ever spoke of her lost daughter. In addition, Elijah was very close to his siblings, with the exception of Finn, who had never recovered from losing Freya and never taken to his new siblings as a result. Elijah was closest to Niklaus and Rebekah, and his younger brother would often carve figurines and statuettes for his brother and sister.

However, while Mikael was hard on all his children, he was hardest on Niklaus, whom he saw as weak. Once, when Elijah took his younger brother hunting and complimented him on the improvement of his aim (despite the fact that Niklaus had missed his target), Mikael arrived and started beating Niklaus to 'strengthen' him, threatening Elijah with violence if he tried to intervene. He carried guilt for the rest of his life for not stopping their father's beatings against his brother. Once, Mikael beat Niklaus to near death in a rage and only stopped when both Elijah and Rebekah tried to stop him. That night, Rebekah tried to kill Mikael as he slept to end his abuse of Niklaus but Elijah stopped her and considered killing his father himself. Ultimately, he didn't.

They lived among the werewolves for about twenty years and during the full moon, the humans would simply hide in the underground caves while the werewolves turned. During Elijah's early life, Elijah and Niklaus both fell in love with a woman named Tatia who lived in their village. All the villagers wanted to be her suitors including Klaus and Elijah, both of them during their time with her, argued with each other and fought each other because they both wanted her for themselves. Tatia chose Elijah to be her next husband when the time came.

One morning after a full moon, Klaus came out of the woods, holding his dead little brother Henrik in his arms. Elijah came running to join his mother as she grieved Henrik's death.

To ensure that the rest of her family would survive, Esther used a spell to make her children immortal. Mikael gave his children wine laced with Tatia's blood. Then he stabbed Elijah and his siblings through their hearts and made them drink human blood. After becoming a vampire, Elijah, along with his family, made sure that the White Oak Tree, their one true weakness, would be destroyed. However, nature retaliated against them and, for every strength, there was a weakness, none stronger than the desire for what had made them immortal: human blood. They had become the very first vampires.

Shortly after becoming a vampire, one night when Niklaus made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf side. Klaus went on a rampage in wolf form. When he awoke the following morning he was tended to by Elijah unbeknownst to them Tatia had followed them to see what happened. Seeing all the carnage created by Klaus she ran from them in fear and was pursued by Elijah. She had tripped and fell while trying to flee and cut her hand. The blood made Elijah lose control and attack her. She tried to defend herself but was no match and was killed. Elijah brought her corpse to a shocked Esther hoping that she could save her. Esther used the rest of her blood as part of the spell used to bind Klaus' werewolf side, which resulted in Klaus' werewolf gene being dormant. Mikael also made Elijah help him in tying up Klaus so that his mother could do the spell. Elijah suppressed the memory of how Tatia actually died believing he had compelled not killed her in the woods and that Esther killed her when performing the hybrid curse.

Then one night, his mother was killed by "Mikael". After burying their mother, Elijah, Klaus, and Rebekah promised that they would never turn their backs on each other and that they would stick together as one, always and forever.

Character’s Ons and Offs: After a millennium Elijah is rather open minded about sex. No Gore/Vore, Scat/Toilet Play, Degradation/Shaming, Mutilation/Harm but open to other things.

Occupation: He works as a chef at an Italian-American restaurant called Castello di Luigi, of which he is a part owner.

Personality: Chris is a somewhat introverted individual. He has a better handle on his anger than most werewolves, and is not prone to fits of sudden aggression. There are no hidden depths to Chris - what you see is what you get from him. This is a man who wears his heart on his sleeve.

His love language is cooking for others. Chris takes it really personally when someone does not like the food he cooks.

Background story: Chris is part of a family where the werewolf gene has not been triggered in two generations. The last member of the family to do so was a great-grandfather whose werewolf gene activated in combat abroad, and he did not return home alive to share knowledge of his bloodline's condition with the rest of the family. Chris managed to lead a mundane, pedestrian life up until his werewolf gene was triggered. Chris went to school, played sports, hung out with friends, did stupid and ill-advised things, graduated, and went on to culinary school afterwards.

It was the night of graduation for his culinary program that his werewolf gene activated. Chris and several members of his class went out to celebrate. After the group left a bar, happy and flush with alcohol, they were beset by a group of criminals intent on robbery and worse. Chris and the males in his group, filled with liquid courage, opted to fight rather than allow this to happen. In the course of the fight Chris caused the death of one of the criminals. His werewolf gene was triggered, and what happened afterwards is, to Chris, a crimson blur.

The police investigated, but the truth was obfuscated. There was a werewolf on the force who made sure the deaths were ascribed to gang-related violence. Chris briefly joined the local pack, and they helped him through his first few full moons. Things were fairly good for Chris, but the alpha of the pack went to war with a group of vampires, and the pack was decimated. Chris only managed to survive because, as luck would have it, a classmate from his culinary school was recently turned into a vampire and vouched for him. The new werewolf's life was spared, but he was forever exiled from the streets of darkest Vancouver, never to return on pain of death.

In New Orleans, Chris got his start making beignets and cafe au lait at small cafes. By chance, he became friends with another young man who aspired to open a restaurant, and the two took out a loan and started Castello di Luigi together. The restaurant has flourished from a small hole in the wall with extremely limited seating and menu into an upper-mid scale family dining restaurant with two Michelin Stars as well as the Bib Gourmand for moderate prices.

Character’s Ons and Offs: Chris is fairly vanilla in terms of ons. His offs include the usual suspects - toilet stuff, humiliation, infidelity.

So I'm a bit confused as to how we're doing things. Since both canon and OCs are allowed, but we're playing modern day, does that mean the show's plot is changed so that dead characters are alive? (presumably yes) Are couples from the show still intact? Are there any canon characters reserved by people currently making them? I'm just not sure how this is going to work as many of the characters have had multiple plot points and may not be alive in 2025. Lol. Where does this game diverge from canon?

I, too, would love to know where the GMs have settled in regards to the state of this AU. A blend of OCs and canon characters in this particular setting can be tricky to pull off depending on what avenue has been taken (given the two presented are currently dead, iirc?). Either way, I'm eager for the particulars before I produce a wee witch.

Yeah, might be good to know where Hayley's daughter Hope is in this. If we keep her still a baby, or if she is older and can become a playable character. Also is Jackson dead or alive. A lot of that, depends on how she is played at this point.

Occupation: Japanese rock star with a vampire aesthetic. Posing as a human posing as a vampire, he thinks it’s hilarious that humans just eat it up and never wonder if he might actually be a vampire. Fans think he’s never seen during the day to protect his stage persona.

Background story:
Long ago in Japan, he and a few drunken friends wound up on the wrong side of town at the absolute wrong Oiran house... and next thing Hikaru knew, he was waking up to find his friends strewn about the room slaughtered... and he himself felt numb, neither hot or cold... and hungry...

So very hungry… Starving even…

As it would turn out, the Oirans of this establishment were all vampires that operated under a heavy and very strict code of discretion and secrecy, it was a stroke of luck for them that the group of young men had happened upon them that night... they didn't have to go out and hunt... food came happily waltzing right into their arms…

Hikaru however… oh he was too beautiful to just kill and dispose of… it had been a long time since they came across a man as beautiful as Hikaru… that beauty had to be preserved for all eternity…

Reluctantly, Hikaru stayed with the Oirans for about twenty years, just long enough to gain some understanding and control over what he now was... what choice did he have? There was no undoing what they had done and he needed to be taught how to survive like this.

Over time, Hikaru grew to love being a vampire… he loved the power, he loved the fact he would never grow old and die… he loved that he was no longer bound by mortal right and wrong. When one was immortal and powerful, a moral compass began to erode more and more until it ceased to mean anything at all. It no longer applied.

The excitement and the thrill of having power and dominance over his prey, the look of fear in their eyes as it became clear this was the end of the line for them, there was no escaping this beautiful faced monster. Their screams were sweeter to Hikaru's ears than the finest orchestra's masterpieces.

Eventually though, Hikaru grew bored of Japan and left the Oirans in order to begin traveling the world, he did this for many years until the 80's brought him to America… Hikaru's exquisite good looks did not go unnoticed for long… Elite Model Management wasted no time in picking up the stunning unknown, they were not surprised when Hikaru was a near instant success with a popularity rating that only seemed to skyrocket with every bit of exposure he got.

For a good ten years, Hikaru ruled the male model industry… until people started noticing that he looked no different in age than when he had first been launched, he played it off as simply good genetics for another five years until he decided to announce his 'retirement', he married a barely known struggling model by the name of Selena Michaels and took her with him back to Japan to 'have a family' in the land of his birth.

In truth, Selena was merely a mesmerized tool Hikaru was using to explain how he was going to return twenty years later as his own son. Selena, her purpose fulfilled and her usefulness ended, was drained dry and her body buried deep in the mountains of Japan not long after the pair set foot on Japanese soil. Hikaru himself kept a very low profile after that.

From there, Hikaru met up with an old friend, another vampire by the name of Eiji Natsumura, who had some very convenient connections… namely a hypnotic hold on individuals directly involved with the public records of Japan. Hikaru had Eiji (for free in exchange for a favor owed being repaid) manipulate his 'friends' to create false but extremely convincing birth records for him of a son having been born to him and Selena… and of course, a death record for Selena… the 'cause of death' having been an accident down the stairs of their home that resulted in a broken neck.

His next order of business was to mesmerize a well known hotshot lawyer in Japan to draw him up a will stating that upon his death, everything would be willed to his son, Hikaru the second.

Hikaru spent the next eighteen years in Japan writing romantic horror stories, padding his already plentiful bank account quite well with that little venture… and it was time to visit his friend once more, this time paying Eiji a lovely fee of 14,821,000.00000 yen for his services in creating himself a death record, stating he'd died of a heart attack… and now it was time for 'his son' to emerge.

After settling up his 'inheritance', Hikaru returned to America and decided he wanted to give the glamorous alternative rock and roll scene a try, so he found a highly successful record label owner and mesmerized the guy into signing him and promote him… not that he needed to, he had quite a voice on him and he could play guitar with the best… he just didn’t want to hassle of jumping through hoops like a lowly mortal.

Turns out a lot of girls in the world and some guys too, were heavily digging Japanese rock stars, his career took off fairly quickly, the fans fascinated by the charismatic and sexy vampire ‘persona’ he presented for them on stage.
 
Likes:Fine wine (especially Japanese plum wine), vintage guitars, music, tasteful and sophisticated clothing, expensive cars, women with a backbone, the colors black, red and gold.

Dislikes: cheap and/or unattractive clothing, overly perky mortals and cigar smoke.

I think this game might take a while to get up, as one of the people GMing has other things going on in their life. So does not have time to work on this with the other right now. So assuming that if this gets off the ground, it will be a while down the road.

If the GMs aren't able to do it anymore (real life comes first, always!), I'd be happy to create one, but I absolutely don't want to step on anyone's toes.
