Today, Carl Rittenhouse, the so called "vigilante, white supremacist was found not guilty on all five charges. And, I say "Amen! Justice was served!"
First, for everyone, that believes Carl Rittenhouse is a white supremacists? You have been badly mislead by your "news" sources. There is zero, and I mean ZERO evidence of Carl Rittenhouse being a white supremacist, or any kind of racist. For anyone that wants to claim, there is a picture of him flashing a white power sign? That is the sign for OK. It has always been the sign for OK. Saying otherwise is like when liberal pundits and politicians talk about racists "dog whistles." That is just a way to smear opponents, or people they don't like of saying something racist. When, the person has never actually said something racist. And, the "white power" sign, is a 4-Chan hoax. There are a LOT of racism hoaxes. Examples, Smollett and practically, every incident of racism on college grounds.

If, you think;Carl Tittenhouse deserved to go to prison? You probably didn't watch ANY of the trial. And, again, need to reevaluate your "NeWS" sources. They lied to you, again. I didn't watch all of the trial. But, I saw more than enough to see the prosecuting lawyer is a political hack, who should be brought to the Bar on ethics charges. He committed several reversable errors. So, even if the jury found Rittenhouse guilty? There was a good chance, the judge would have declared a mistrial, with prejudice. Truthfully, Rittenhouse should have never been charged. It was clear cut self defense. Even, the prosecutions own witnesses testimonies, supported Rittenhouse's self defence. Which is just a hint, on how badly the prosecution performed. And, let's not forget, Rittenhouse was charged in 48 hours, of the event. Not even, waiting for a full investigation.

And, if you think Rittenhouse should have never been there, armed with a rifle? You should blame the Democrate politicians, in charge that allowed the rioting, burning and looting, that lasted three days. Rittenhouse had every legal right, to be there. While BLM <Black Lying Marxist were destroying Kenosha... Oops. Pardon me. I meant :peacefully protesting." <rolls eyes>

One last thing. I HOPE this trial being televised helps prevent more rioting, after sunset. Kenosha and America has suffered enough Left wing violence.

Rittenhouse is a murderer.

No amount of blaming leftists changes that he crossed state lines with a firearm and killed people.

The hypocrisy of accusing people of not understanding the outcome because you think they did not watch the trial when you admit to not having watched all of it either is just...painful to read.

It is a meme, not a hoax. One that gained popularity and took off among white supremacists. Thus, yes, it is appropriately regarded as a white power symbol.

You don't get to claim ignorance of these memes and speaking in 'code' as it were. That is to say, you can do so, but we won't believe you. People have grown wise to that shit.

You'll need to workshop new tactics.

There are a LOT of racism hoaxes.

You know what's also a racism hoax? The "They beating up every white person" video from the Milwaukee riots. There's no evidence of even a victim report.

Someone with a pretty significant production budget is trying to divide this country. And you, personally, do work for them.

But your sources are perfectly innocent, and would never lie to you?

I count as close friends people who were personally burned by various media. What Alex Jones does fragrantly and with abandon, some journalists target individuals carefully or without care. I've got several examples of John Oliver pulling this shit, and of CNN. CNN even did it to a fucking presidential candidate.

But no one is innocent of this.

Lustful Bride

Don't hold Ritten Racist up like some glorious white savior of gun rights. He's a murderer who has single handedly help push the US into even worse racial tensions, while making gun ownership synonymous with being a racist who looks for ways to kill people inspiring many more instigators who will make every responsible gun owner out there have to stand alongside racists, traitors, and other shitheads who make our once amazing nation into the laughingstock of the world.

But you don't care about any of that. Its all about keeping the lefties and other 'undesirables' in line! Who cares if any seditionist yahoo will suddenly walk around fully kitted up and might shoot up a school or two? Its not your kids right? Its not your blood on the streets? You get to sit back at home and laugh at all the mothers without sons, all the siblings without twins, and then rant about how the liberals are taking your guns away as an inalienable right becomes known only for enabling the worst of our society.

I hate that as a gun owner I have to always speak out and make sure people know I'm not some crazy racist, just because of those like Rittenhouse and all those traitors & cop killers who stormed the capitol have taken a constitutionally protected right and made into their masturbatory fantasy and constantly escalate things every chance they get to live out their bullshit Rambo fantasies.

Yeah it sucks that the protests turned violent and there was rioting and looting. Whoopty fucking do. RittenRacist wasn't a fucking cop! He had no right or duty to show up there. No one called him, he had to be driven there by his mommy and went looking for trouble.

But of course none of this matters to you. Is always someone else. Its always the other side. Its all a conspiracy. Its not that bad. Its all a joke! He doesn't mean it.

There's no point in this. I could argue and rant, but nothing will make you budge. You came to break your own arm stroking yourself off at a murderer getting off with no punishment and everyone else getting mad.

Well you got it.

I hope you enjoy it. I hope you go to bed every night thinking 'Yay the body count rises! The civil war comes and soon i will get to experience what people in Syria did and get to fight federal troops, till Chinese boots come and stomp my throat in because I helped kill the American Eagle because I can't stand being near lefties!"

I hope you get exactly what you want.

I hope you get to see your dream, just so you can see it turn to ashes and know even a quarter of the god damn pain I feel in seeing the country I love so much, the country so many generations of my family fought for, ruined and shamed before the eyes of the whole fucking world.

The co-opting of symbols is nothing new.  The cross pre-dates Christianity, the eagle pre-dates America (and most European nations) and the trefoil pre-dates Jimmy Page.  It's even more common in an era when 'It's just a prank, bro' or 'I was only kidding' are seen as utter absolution from consequences.

But let's assume for half a minute that Kyle Rittenhouse (not Carl - if your sources are calling him 'Carl', you should find some new ones) is not a white supremacist, and wouldn't want to be mistaken for one.

The 'OK' meme that originated on 4-chan has been in the news since 2017.  By 2019, it had been listed as a hate symbol and was being flashed by people who had actively engaged in hate crimes - such as the man who shot up a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand.  It's literally impossible that anyone with a stable Internet connection hasn't heard about the connection.

Assuming that Kyle is just some misunderstood idiot who decided he was going to drive to another state, buy a gun, and get in on some wild action - not out of any racist intent, mind you, but just, you know, getting in on that whole riot scene for the lulz - assuming that, and wanting to give some sort of positive, affirming gesture, he decides to use a gesture that has acquired that sort of baggage, rather than, say, a 'thumbs up'.  Bright boy, that.

(FunFact:  The gesture is not as universally positive as you might think.  Richard Nixon managed to insult the entire population of Sao Paolo by displaying it with both hands when he landed in Brazil.)

I can't remember where now, but I did hear that the symbol did start out as a joke.  It is actually American Sign Language for asshole.  When one makes that gesture they are saying I am an asshole, and I completely agree. He wasn't defending his home.  He could have just stayed home and none of it would have ever happened.  But no, he had to go get into some action to make up for his small penis....

Rittenhouse is a murderer.

To be clear, the prosecution was never going to get a murder conviction. The evidence wasn't there and wasn't going to be. He was being chased. Did he instigate something? Quite possibly, we have him on video assaulting a girl from behind. For this, though, what we have are a few minutes of video, and the people who would have the most to say on that are dead.

He's certainly culpable, in my mind, but that isn't sufficient for the charges brought.

That said, it would be asinine not to investigate a killing.

The most nerve-wracking thing about this verdict is people are going to use this to justify escalated tensions. The laser focus on this over say, the Ahmaud Arbery case, is going to give people a skewed perspective about the justice system.

Iniquitous

Oh boy.

I should be in bed seeing as I have to go to work in the morning, but, yanno... I'm gonna sacrifice sleep for this.  (And I'll do it civilly despite the fact I am fucking disgusted)

Let's start with news sources since you like to harp on them and seem to imply only YOURS is the truth.
I get a good chunk of my news from a newsletter called 1440. Lovely thing in that it just tells me the news. No opinion pieces. No talking mouthpieces. Then I hop over to BBC news. Yeah, it has opinions with the news but I am pretty good at sorting out that mess.  Then I take a jaunt over to Al Jazeera. Again, I can sort through any opinion bs on my own. From there I will occasionally read CNN and NBC but, like Faux News, it gets to be too much with the opinions so they are usually my last reads.  So, no. I do not need different news sources. I'd be willing to bet I have a more diverse selection of news sources than you do - especially if you can't even get the twat's name right.

Now. On to the twat.  He's a thug. There is video of him punching a girl from before the Kenosha incident. (Two strikes right there - one, violent behavior exhibited. Two, hitting a female.) He was never personally called to go to Kenosha and defend property.  If he had been his attorney should have put that person on the stand to testify to that.  His attorney did not so, yeah, didn't happen.  He was not legally old enough to have the AR-15 in his possession. Hence the fact he had a friend buy it for him with the promise of paying him back. Guess what - that friend is in legal trouble for that idiotic move.  There is video of the twat saying he wanted to shoot men he thought were criminals ( https://www.kenoshanews.com/news/local/state-seeks-to-admit-video-of-rittenhouse-in-separate-incident-threatening-to-shoot-men-with/article_cddeb29f-5a86-5151-ab20-a3834456304e.html ). This would be strike number  3 - further proof of violent tendencies.  As soon as he was out of jail he went out drinking with none other than... drum roll please... the Proud Boys - a KNOWN neo-fascist and racist group. Hmm. That is strike 4.

You CANNOT claim self-defense in a situation you provoked. Period. He lied to people claiming to be an EMT and there to help people but then claimed he was there to protect property.  He had EVERY opportunity to run back to the police when Rosenbaum started following him - he chose to stop, turn around and kill the man. Four shots. The killing bullet entering Rosenbaum's BACK - which means the man was horizontal, face down on the ground and no longer a threat. That is murder.

Anthony Huber.  So much was made about the fact the man hit him with a skateboard after he tripped. Wanna know why? Wanna know why there was a gang trying to beat him up? BECAUSE HE WAS AN ACTIVE SHOOTER! They were trying to stop an active shooter.  This is corroborated in the testimony of Gage Grosskreutz who stated he believed the twat was an active shooter.  People actually acted together to stop a threat they perceived and for that two of them died and one is severely injured for the rest of his life. The twat murdered two people because he pissed his pants at a man throwing a plastic bag containing socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, and papers at him. He freaked out over taunts that a marine - a man TRAINED to kill - turned his back on and chose to ignore. Rosenbaum and Huber were not a threat to the twat.  He was the threat.

Want further proof? Two people died, one gravely injured - by one person out of the many who were armed that night. No one else that was carrying guns that night shot anyone. Just the scared widdle boy who should have been tucked into bed instead of living out his fantasy of being a macho alpha male.

Mark my words. He'll end up in trouble again because he got off this time. But I sure hope karma beats his ass six ways from Sunday ... and I hope Mr. Grosskreutz and the Hubers sue him into oblivion in civil court.

Bow to the Queen; I'm the Alpha, the Omega, everything in between.

A big part of the issue I think is laid out in the video I linked.  I was introduced to this guy by someone else here, and have been watching more older videos.  Never really thought about it that way before, but he made some damn good points.  Point number one, which I actually think was in one of the two earlier videos, because he made it a 3 part series.  The AR 15 is a very popular gun, not because it's actually that powerful, but it looks like its military counterpart.  Walking around with a hunting rifle makes you look like a hunter.  Posing with what looks like a military weapon makes you look badass.

Two, it is a symbol of manhood.  I guess this ties into the looking badass part.  Walking around with that tough looking gun like this guy did makes you a manly man.  You're protecting society!  People who argue against tighter gun regulations say guns are tools, and to an extent, they're right.  But then why isn't social media plastered with guys posing with power drills?  Those are tools.  And hell, you would need one with a battery, but you could kill a person with one.  Of course my original argument remains the same.  Many things can be turned into murder weapons, but a gun is one of the few things that you don't have to be up close and personal for.

I'm curious to know if other charges can be brought against Kyle (or Carl if you prefer) Rittenhouse, such as:

1) Illegally owning a firearm while a minor.
2) Illegally taking a firearm across a state line.
3) Illegally carrying a firearm in public in Illinois while a minor.
4) And his mother aiding and abetting a minor to take a firearm across a state line.

I am wondering if any other criminal acts were committed even before he shot the guy with the plastic bag of highly dangerous personal hygiene products.

To me one of the major issues about this case which I haven't seen discussed (though surely it has been) is the fact Rittenhouse was a minor at the time, and minors are declared legally so because, among other things, they are not considered mentally mature enough to make reasonable decisions (such as voting ... or knowing how to safely carry a gun). So if Rittenhouse panicked and pulled the trigger might the fact he was a minor have been a relevant circumstance there? If he was an adult he would be assumed to have the life-experience and wisdom to more fully appreciate when someone coming at you with a plastic bag or a skateboard is or is not a threat to his life.

TheGlyphstone

Just one point of order, since it's been brought up twice - Rittenhouse's mother wasn't actually involved in bringing him to Kenosha.

But Rittenhouse testified in Kenosha County Circuit Court on Nov. 10 that he drove himself to Kenosha on Aug. 24, 2020, the day before the shooting, to work at his job at the RecPlex in nearby Pleasant Prairie, according to footage of the court proceedings reviewed by The Associated Press. After work, he drove his car to his friend Dominick Black’s house in Kenosha, where he spent the night.

I just want to be sure people have all their facts straight, because small things like that will otherwise be pounced on by bad-faith actors like the OP to unravel true statements.

This charge got dismissed due to a loophole/carve-out in the law in question, which his defense attorneys successfully argued made it legal to possess the gun:

My apologies. I had read early reports which said she was involved and never saw a retraction because the news reports focussed on more pressing elements of the incident.

I take back my point #4.

I think this says a lot about the left (well, centre) and the right (well, extremist misogynist racists) over this:

QuotePresident Joe Biden said he was "angry and concerned" at the verdict, but that "the jury has spoken".

Former President Donald Trump congratulated him [Kyle or Carl if you prefer] in a statement emailed to his supporters. "If that's not self-defence, nothing is!" he wrote.

The quoted lines are from a BBC report:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-59358172

Chulanowa

Well that was... a post.

Rittenhouse decided to travel to another state to arm himself and hook up with a violent white supremacist gang, to whom he had expressed a prior desire to kill people. They went out to antagonize people protesting the murder of a man. At some point, Kyle decided he wanted to threaten another person with his gun. That person chased him, which Kyle claims allows him to use "self defense" - even though he was the aggressor. Other people then tried to subdue and disarm him - because a person lettings loose with a rifle at a protest is a manifest public danger - and they also got shot, one killed.

Kyle was the aggressor and his victims were acting in self-defense. However they are dead and cannot testify. Because he murdered them. Just as he had said he wanted to do.

Why did he go free? Because we have a legal system where a 17 year old black child can be confined to solitary for two years at Riker's without trial because he was accused of stealing a backpack, but a 19 year old white man who rapes a woman  is sentenced to six months but gets out in three for "good behavior."

Because our justice system is innately unjust. it revolves around supporting the caste systems of race and wealth that this nation is founded and operates on. it's there to protect those with power from those without power.

TheGlyphstone

Since someone is going to ask, what is your point in sharing the criminal records of the victims? It's not legally relevant, and in either case neither was on trial ( due to being dead). Are you trying to posit some sort of moral argument in favor of their deaths, or saying they 'deserved it' as some right leaning voices have claimed?

Deamonbane

Considering that anything relating to Kyle's character prior and post the shooting was not admitted to the trial, whatever criminal records the victims might have had or what they were doing in Kenosha that night is similarly irrelevant.

Of course, the judge wouldn't agree with me, but I stand by that anyways.

Evilly

Whydid I call Kyle Rittenhouse, Carl? I honestly can't say, other than, I'm bad with names. But, it was my mistake, and I own it. But, I dare say, I bet Kyle prefers being mistakenly called Carl. Over mistakenly called a murderer, as some of the poster's and likely readers, have done. For all of you that still disagree with me, I point you to Vekaeid's second post. Where, he does back, the one point of my argument, that Kyle was found not guilty, and the evidence supports self defense. And, I'll add, that in America's judicial system. One is presumed innocent, until, found guilty in a court of Law. Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges. Thus, calling him a murderer, is a mistake.

So, I thank you, Vekseid, for the support on that one, but very important part of my argument. But, in my opinion, deleting my signature and changing the title of my thread, seem to be rather petty moves, Mr. God badge.
Oh, and on fucking saying fuck, on the fucking internet goes? I knew that. But, I had read this site, was to be PG-13. So, I was trying to follow your rules. Whether, you believe me or not? And, I do object to having the title of this thread changed. Are you saying a title in the PROC channel isn't allowed to be controversial? Or, is it just at the suggestion, of one of your apparent liberal friends, you changed my title? Or, is it, that you didn't want my thread to catch the attention, of more readers? After all, a title or headline, is meant to be eye catching, to draw in a reader.

Moving on...

The main point, of my thread, is that if you hate Kyle Rittenhouse, thinking he was some racist, vigilante? You were LIED to, by whatever news source, you used. And, I do mean lied. Are you aware that MANY people believe Kyle shot three black men? It was no accident, that the left leaning media, left out, that all involved, in thisshooting were white. Some, have even reported the shooting victims were black. Don't believe me? Go check out Glen Greenwald, on substack, on how dishonest the American news media, has become. Or, is he no longer a liberal hero?

I'm not claiming Kyle is some kind of hero, or savior., as some seem to think. Kyle Rittenhouse, was a 17 year old kid, at the time. And, while being out ALONE during a riot, was clearly a dumb choice. But, who here didn't make stupid decisions, when we were teenagers? I freely admit, I did. But, I see Kyle, as a basically good kid. He says, he was trying to help people, and I believe him. And, yes, he was armed with an AR style rifle. LEGALLY armed, in Wisconsin.

Now, for those, who are under the impression that Kyle crossing state line, is a big deal. Are you aware that Kyle often drove the 20 miles, or so. Somewhere between the 17 and 21 miles, I've seen reported, is my guess. Kyle's father, other family andsome close friends, live in Kenosha. And, Kyle had a job, in Kenosha. It;s mere happenstance, the state's borders lay between, where he lives with his mother in Illinois. And, where he worked and spends time with family and friends, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Simple put, Kyle is more a part of the Kenosha community, than any outsider, that went to protest and/or riot.

Kyle. in his testimony on the stand, explained how and why he legally purchased his AR rifle, from a legal gun shop, in Wisconsin. He went, looking to buy a shotgun, for skeet shooting. But, none were in stock. But, the dealer said he could legally buy the AR rifle, in stock. As for the only weapons charge brought against Kyle? It had ro be dropped, because, when the rifle barrel was measured, it was proven to indeed, be a long barreled rifle. That's nota loophole. It's the law, as written. And, it's excellent proof of how truly incompetent the prosecutting attorney was, in this case. And is fs proof, that this was a political persecution. Not, a legitimate prosecution. I remind you, Kyle was indicted in 48 hours. A clear rush in judgement. As, 12 jurors proved, with their verdict.

For the so called white power sign? I still say Kyle, like me and MANY, many other people. Still see and use that sign as the OK sign. And, that's all it is, to us. Where I live, on the long highway drives, many of us use that sign, as we see a car coming towards us, if the road behind us, is clear of speed traps. There are long stretches of roads in Texas. And, some small towns are notorious speed traps. And, in the past, I've flashed that sign at people of all colors. And, never once got the middle finger, from a driver of any color. As, for Kyle, he gave his smart phone to the police and unlocked it for them. I'm unaware of any warrent being issued, for Kyle's phone. And ZERO. other evidence, has been found, showing Kyle is a white supremacist.

All of you, rooting for Kyle to be charged in any kind of federal charges? I predict. that you're in for another disappointment. There has been no evidence, shown that proves Kyle ever took his rifle across state lines. And, it's perfectly legal for a 17 year old to own a long barrel rifle, in Wisconsin. The DoJ can investigate all they want. But, if theyare honest? There will be no further charges, against Kyle Rittenhouse. But, Metric Garland has loosed the terrorism division of the DoJ on angry PTA parents. Because an angry parent, should be treated like a domestic terrorist? Seriously?

But, back to my main point. If you hate Kyle Rittenhouse, and me, for defending the kid? I say, it's because, you've been LIED to by left wing news media, Democrate politicians and pundits. Much of what I've pointed out, could have easily been discovered and reported on, long ago. This case, shouldhave never been brought to trial. And, I hope Kyle becomes VERY rich, sewing the crap out of all the people and companies, that have slandered him. Like, Joy Reid and Joe Biden, just to name two. And, yes, Joe Biden, is in real legal risk, of being sued. He wasn't president, at the time. Nut, it's all in Kyle's hands, on whether he chooses to bother with it? Go y'all remember the "Covington Kid"? Him, and his lawyer have been raking it in, starting with the CNN settlement.
"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."
                                      - Romans I, verse 22

Pumpkin Seeds

Kyle didn’t buy the weapon himself though because it is illegal for him to do so. He gave the money to a friend of his that then bought the weapon for him and gave him the weapon. That friend is now under federal prosecution for purchasing the firearm for someone under the age of 18 and giving that weapon to someone under the age of 18 where the weapon was used to injury and kill someone. Kyle is not supposed to own that firearm and the technicality here is that he does not own the firearm, his friend does and Kyle took the weapon to a protest where he shot and injured people. Perhaps there is a reason why there is an age restriction for such firearms?

Also I’m calling horseshit that he just so happened to be at a store that sells an AR and he just happened to have the right amount of money. An AR is notoriously hard to get hands on since gun owners are so scared they will be pulled off the shelves. I know people that constantly lament they want to get their hands on them but can’t find them because other people are buying two or three in a scare. No he was a 17 year old kid with his 19 year old friend that saw the badass looking rifle and wanted to buy it with the “stimulus” money the government had given him.

Azy

Charges were brought against him within 48 hours.  You do realize that that's how the law works, right?  I don't remember the exact details anymore, but it's in the Constitution under the right of due process.  If you are detained and questioned, the police can only hold you for a certain amount of time before they either bring charges against you and arrest you, or let you go.  If anyone has been held longer, and I do believe the limit is 48 hours, then their right to due process was clearly violated, and if a lawyer didn't use that to get the case dropped, then that isn't a very good lawyer.

Gotta love it when patriots start going on and on about something and how the Constitution they love so much is being stomped on, but it's extremely clear by their own words that they don't even know what is actually in the Constitution.  For 7th grade Civics class I had to memorize the Bill of Rights.  When it comes to stuff like this, here is my answer.  You can find a copy of the test immigrants have to take to become citizens.  I was linked to one on FB and the poster's main point was that most natural born citizens can't pass that test.  I passed it with a B+.  Go find one, and see if even half of what you think is true about our government actually is.  Can you pass the citizenship test?
