Long Rim is nice. Gives plenty of setting fluff for the stuff on on the outskirts. Also the frames are quite fun and comp/con data is free so everyone can see the new player options without paying.

That said, I haven't voted yet. I'm definitely interested, but I don't know which I would like better. Too much pressure! I think I may just not vote and let ShadowFox89 pick whatever he wants.

Lancer is one of those lesser known systems that are surprisingly great. There might not be a ton of us who know the system, but most of us that do tend to like it. :3

Other way around, VOTOMS (And Bubblegum Crisis, can't forget the Knight Sabers!) were Fuzion-based, a system made by merging the HERO System and the Cyberpunk/Mekton Interlock system.  There was even an official Gundam RPG in Japan based on Mekton, Gundam Senki, sadly never translated and released in the US.

Also the other way around, they did an extensive Robotech game line in the mid 80s, even the Sentinels and Macross II and used what they developed for RIFTS a few years later.   A key passage about three troops with MDC armor and rifles having the power of a tank platoon and being able to rule a village with it was reprinted from Robotech to RIFTS verbatim.

Savage RIFTS could also be a mecha game if everyone chooses power armor or mecha pilot templates, and there’s a new Savage Worlds Robotech game too.

Anyone thought on what sort of role they'd like to take in the Lancer mech team?

I'm considering a Heavy Weapon and I'm also considering Melee, unsure on how many auxiliary weapons to go for atm. I like to run in and I also like to hit hard (whether shooting or melee).
Considering how much of the split of Ordnance vs close-in AP/Overkill seems most fun. Weapons seem to go more specialist as you go down the list too.

I'm working on a fleshed out, better looking intro post for Champions to give everyone a better idea of what they're getting into then will post up an application form. From there I'll be picking five people. 11 is just waaaaay too many and Lancer doesn't do PvP well, it all just turns into a long slog.
