Trump and his movement spell a danger to the future of the Republic, Biden said earlier this week (not overstated IMO). Last night Trump hit back and dubbed Biden "an Enemy of the State" - not sure how well this fits in with his painting him as the Prince of the Deep State?

Well, the 'Deep State' is always (propaganda-wise) an enemy of the 'State'.  Therefore the 'Prince of the Deep State' would have to necessarily be one of, if not the top enemies of The State.

It seems there was a highly sensitive document on some foreign country's nuclear defences found in Trump's house at Mar-a-Lago:

Not much more than that has been officially revealed about the content of the documents found but even that sounds like it would be dangerous if it got in the wrong hands. An estimate of a foreign country's nuclear defences could reveal what assets and operations US intelligence agencies are running there among other things.

Beau covered it well.  I'm seething too hard to be willing to be civil and detailed on the topic.  Tl;dr, dangerous, yes.  There is no 'good' in any of that getting out there, and it could result in a war.  Hell, it could be why Iran just conducted a cyberattack on Iran.

Those were the "least bad for US, could result in war" examples.

Those countries already have nukes. And I don't think the ranking is so straightforward. Details on India's nuclear program would likely be far more damaging than British or French programs, as it would sour relations with a rising power neighboring China at what is probably the worst possible time. I'd probably say the same for Israel's program, as the implications (selling it to Arabs?) would be dire.

And yet despite all this, my mother and aunt still love this guy, think hes a good soul, thinking he did a fantastic job during his time as president with covid being just an excuse to smear his perfect term, that the election was stolen from him and buy all his declassified documents bull. They just flat out refuse to believe anything from the FBI, DOJ, the committee because they are "the government" and it's all a plot to stop him from running again.

Everything is a plot, Biden is a fascist, Trump is the second coming of Jesus. It's a frustrating time to sit down for dinner when with them. That's all they talk about. Sorry for venting my frustrations.

3) Politics. For reasons you already know.
4) Sex.  May sound prudish, but probably not things that you're likely to want to discuss around your mother and aunt.  Although if you want to drive home the rationale for this short list, go for it.

100000000% this.  My father is a huge supporter of the Mango Mussolini and swears this is all an attempt to keep him from running again. The man can sit there and -watch- the con man on the news say one thing and then do another & my father will say he never said that.  It's mind-boggling and made me realize just how uneducated my father is (and a lot of my family for that matter).

So, the rule of "no discussing politics if Ini is around" was put in place with the already present rule of "no discussing religion if Ini is around".  They, over the past 4+ years have relearned that I am not one to keep my mouth shut when they are braying bullshit like asses & I willingly admit that I take some pleasure in pointing out how homophobic, racist, xenophobic, hypocritical they are.  (At this point I'd say it is a hobby)

They got tired of it so they agreed not to discuss those topics around me. In return, I get peace and quiet when I have to be around them. I highly recommend suggesting the rule to your family.

(On a side note, because I have this hobby and I believe in honing my craft, I am taking a free 7-week course online from Princeton University called Constitutional Interpretation.  Gives me more ammunition if I need it & I learn new things to boot!)

This confirms what I suspected at the time, in the last month of his presidency: Trump was determined never to leave the White House, no matter what. He repeatedly told his aides he was dead set on staying and not giving up the building. "How can you leave when you've won the election? We're staying!".

Upshot:  The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, which consists of two Trump-appointed judges and one Obama-appointed judge, has ruled that the DOJ can have the Mar-a-lago documents, in the interest of 'ensuring that the storage of the classified records did not result in "exceptionally grave damage to the national security."'

Well, after finding out that the Secret Service had ten days in which they were aware of potential threats to Pence and others, the committee has voted unanimously to subpoena Trump to testify.  He has responded with typical bluster, saying that they should have asked him to talk 'months ago'.  I seem to recall that a number of witnesses actually approached the committee and volunteered to testify, when they had something they wanted to say.

The committee does not expect to release their findings before November, possibly December.

As you may have heard, Trump announced his candidacy for the 2024 Presidential race.  Scuttlebutt is that he chose this moment because the midterms were over, and there's a tradition (not a law) about the DOJ not instigating charges that may affect an election during the 60 days leading up to it.

As Trump's indictment would have (in his mind?) affected all the candidates he was backing, he figured he was safe until just after the midterms - not anticipating the Georgia run off between Warnock and Herschel 'I wanna be a werewolf' Walker. (Were any of us?)  He then figured that his announcement would shield him as a potential candidate.

Well, his announcement actually turned out to be a motivating factor in today's appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel in the DOJ's investigation of the classified documents removed from the White House to Mar-A-Lago.

Kremer and her daughter were the permit holders for the Trump rally on the Ellipse on Jan. 6, they were also leading organizers and activisits behind the event, and it's practically certain that they knew what was meant to happen afterwards. This is the shouting of a desperate person who knows the law is coming for her.

In other tweets around the same time, she exulted that Nancy Pelosi "has been fired" (nope, it was her own choice not to run for another two years as leader of the House Democrats). It would have been far more correct to say that the American people told Trump "U R Fired, bitch!" two years ago, but that's just my two cents...

Elon Musk just restored Trump to twitter, after an on-site "poll" that caught 15 million votes and was decided, carried through and counted in about 24 hours. I think we can draw some conclusions about how secure and free from bots and duplicate accounts this would have been...

The "yes" alternative landed 51.8% and "no" 48.2%. Musk, of course, moved immediately, being the dictator of Twitter, and the Donald is already back. Musk communicated his decision in a tweet: "The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox pouli, viox Dei." /the People's voice is the voce if God/ - but in a final twist, this tweet is now removed, just hours after it was posted.
