The time is drawing nigh. It is nearly time to return to your magical home for another year of wizardry and witchcraft.

The school year is 2019 through 2020. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is expecting you, up and coming wizards and witches, to return. Or, perhaps, to attend for the very first time.

This year, an extension of schooling is available at Hogwarts. Now, instead of having to leave in your senior year of primary school, you are welcome to continue attending Hogwarts in a higher education setting.

If you are 18 years of age or older, then you are welcome to take our university courses and programs. These specialize in any magical career that you can imagine. Including but not limited to Auror Training, Healer Clinicals and Ministry of Magic Internship Opportunities.

Just like at the basic level of wizarding and witching education, every new student is sorted into the house that they most belong to. For students who have been attending Hogwarts already and were previously sorted, they would still belong to the same house.

This game is meant to be a largely sandbox game. There will be some GM guided events, such as dances and grand feasts, but other than that, this game is what you make of it. It will be up to you, for the most part, to create your own story here, inside the walls of Hogwarts castle.

Characters should be original creations made by the players of this game. You may not write a canon character from the Harry Potter universe. You may, however, create a character who has a distant relative that is from the original Harry Potter universe. If you do this, then you must provide an accurate and detailed family tree.

Pure-blood characters must provide an extensive family history to prove their pure-blood lineage, going back at least three generations. Half-blood and muggle-born characters only need to provide the lineage for the last generation. During this time that the game is taking place, some animosity may still exist between certain pure-blood witches and wizards, and muggle-born witches and wizards.

Characters are allowed to have some extraordinary traits, as long as they are far enough removed from your character that those extraordinary traits do not directly impact them to a severe capacity. If, for example, you wish for your character to be part Veela, they may be, so long as the Veela blood comes from a great-grandparent, or further away in the family tree. Your character would therefore be ⅛ Veela. This also would apply for Giants and Werewolves, etc.

The school year begins on the 1st of September. Even though the 1st of September is a Sunday, it is the day that all of the students will travel to Hogwarts. Typically, students arrive to Hogwarts by taking the Hogwarts Express, accessible through Platform 9 3/4. The Hogwarts Express leaves King Cross Station in London, England at 11 am, precisely. Some students prefer to travel to Hogwarts via the Floo powder network or via their own personal broomsticks or even by simply apparating to the nearby town of Hogsmeade, then walking to the castle from there. However, the majority of students prefer to travel with the Hogwarts Express.

The Hogwarts Express traverses to Hogsmeade Station, which is located, as the name might imply, at the homey little village of Hogsmeade. As per tradition, the first years travel over the Black Lake by boat ride, led by the gamekeeper. The older students are carted in carriages, which are pulled by Thestrals, which are only seen by those who have witnessed death. All of the students are led inside the castle by faculty, and seated in the Great Hall for what is referred to as the welcoming feast. Before the meal quite literally appears, the sorting ceremony takes place for all of those newcomers who have yet to be sorted into their houses.

Once every student belongs to a house, it is time to hear a speech of sorts from the current Headmaster or Headmistress of Hogwarts. After those words are spoken, it is time for the feast to begin. Students are encouraged to eat together and to get to know one another, not just in their own houses, but in other houses as well. Camaraderie and friendship is encouraged at Hogwarts, despite the competitiveness that tends to take place during the school year between the four houses.

Hogwarts is structured similarly to other schools and colleges in the UK, where there are three terms per school year. Just like the non magical schools in the muggle world, Hogwarts takes a bit of a break to celebrate Christmas and Easter. Students are welcome to stay at Hogwarts during the winter and spring breaks, especially if they have no other accommodations. Those who do stay at Hogwarts for winter break have no classes during it and are invited to a feast on Christmas Day. There are no classes during the spring break either, however students are typically bogged down with homework and studying, as this time is nearing the final exam season.

At the end of each school year, there is a nine week long summer vacation. The only other break that students and teachers alike get, would be the weekends. Older students are welcome to visit Hogsmeade whenever they please, so long as they abide by the rules of curfew. Hogsmeade is the local village located very close to Hogwarts castle. It has many shops, all of which are appropriate for any witch or wizard in need. Along with the shopping, there are also a few spots that serve food and even a couple of places that house their patrons.

In an average year, there are four feasts that take place at Hogwarts. The first is the welcome feast, otherwise called the start of the term feast, which takes place at the beginning of the school year. The second would be a Halloween feast which is often followed by a dance. The third is a Christmas feast which is only enjoyed by those who remain at the school on Christmas day. The final one is an end of term feast which marks the end of the school year. If any special events are to take place during the school year, likely, a feast would be held to commemorate such an occasion.

Hogwarts motto is written in Latin. The words are: "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus," which translates to “Never tickle a sleeping dragon.” The coat of arms is a colorful display of all four house animal representational, encircling an old fashioned letter H. In the upper left is the Gryffindor lion standing in front of a red background, in the upper right is the Slytherin serpent with an emerald green background, in the bottom left is the Hufflepuff badger, and in the bottom right is the Ravenclaw eagle. Beneath the shield itself, is an old looking scroll with the Latin motto scrawled on it.

Of course, this brings us to the four houses represented in Hogwarts castle. Gryffindor, founded by Godrick Gryffindor, has the symbol of a lion. The house colors are red and gold. Those who are best suited to this house are probably courageous, brave, daring, and chivalrous. In order to access the common room located on the seventh floor and hidden behind the portrait of the full-figured lady, one must know the password and be able to provide it to her.

Slytherin, founded by Salazar Slyterin, has the symbol of a serpent. The house colors are green and silver. Those who are best suited to this house seem to value ambition, leadership, cunning, determination and resourcefulness. In order to access the common room located in the dungeons and hidden behind a stone wall, one must know the password and be able to utter it.

Hufflepuff, founded by Helga Huffleouff, has the symbol of a badger. The house colors are gold and black. Those who are best suited to this house are more than likely known for their loyalty, hard work, patience, fairness, honesty, and tolerance. In order to access the common room located near the kitchens, one must tap a fake barrel to the rhythm of the founder’s name. It is the only house that has a method for keeping other students out of their common room, by pouring vinegar on them.

Ravenclaw, founded by Rowena Ravenclaw, has the symbol of an eagle. The house colors are blue and bronze. Those who are best suited to this house appear to value wit, intelligence, cleverness, wisdom and creativity. In order to access the common room located in a high tower, one must answer a riddle given by the eagle door knocker.

The following is a list of the typical classes that are taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

Astronomy, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, History of Magic, Muggle Studies, Potions, Transfiguration.

The following is a list of the typical Elective classes that are taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

The following is a list of the typical extracurricular subjects that are taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

Art, Ghoul Studies, Magical Theory, Muggle Art, Muggle Music, Xylomancy.

There are also quite a few clubs that the students have organized throughout their time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Just a few of these clubs are:

Art Club, Astronomy Club, Charm Club, Choir, Duelling Club, Orchestra, Potions Club, Slug Club, Wizard Card Collectors Club.

The grading system at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is as follows:

O - Outstanding
E - Exceeds Expectations
A - Acceptable
P - Poor
D - Dreadful
T - Troll

The first three marks (O, E, and A) are all passing marks. The last three marks (P, D, and T) are all failing marks and require the student to repeat the subject.

There are three major exams that are taken at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

O.W.L.s, or Ordinary Wizarding Levels, are a standardized test for primary level fifth year students (age 15), which are used to determine the focus of study for the students final years at Hogwarts.

N.E.W.T.s, or Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests are optional levels of education for particularly gifted students. In order to qualify for these exams, a student must have scored exceptional marks on their O.W.L.s, otherwise that student would have no chance of passing the far more difficult subject material in these tests. These tests are available in a student’s primary level seventh year (age 17), and cannot be retaken.

W.O.M.B.A.T.s, or Wizard’s Ordinary Magic and Basic Aptitude Test, is a series of tests made up entirely of written papers, concerning a variety of subjects. These Tests will determine whether the test taker is able to safely exist within the magical world, once university level education has concluded.

Is this game entirely sandbox?

Mostly sandbox, with limited GM guidance for certain, optional events.

Does technology work at Hogwarts?

No modern technology will work at Hogwarts. All scenes taking place away from the wizarding world, can include modern technology.

Can I make a canon character?

No canon characters will be allowed in this game. If you want a canon character to be a distant relative, that would be allowable, as long as the family tree is detailed and accurate.

Can I make a faculty member?

Yes. If you have an idea for a faculty profession that is unlisted, just ask GM for approval.

How many characters can I make?

There is no limit on characters. Make as many as you can juggle.

Can my character be extraordinary?

Veela, Metamorphmagus, Werewolves and other extraordinary characters are only allowed if they are distant relatives to your character, making your character 1/8 extraordinary.
Which means that their extraordinary traits will not impact them very much, and thus, they will not be an overpowered player.

Can my character have a rare wand?

Not without a plausible reason for that rare wand to come into their possession.

Will sex be allowed in this game?

Yes. Although sex is not the main focus, it will be allowed in the designated threads.

Can faculty and students fraternize?

Yes. Although, relationships are not advised. If found out, consequences may ensue.

What about House Points?

You can earn points for your character's house in several ways.
Winning games (like Quidditch), completing special instructions when given (like homework). Opportunities will be posted.
It is your responsibility to notify the GM with specific posts that are meant to acquire points.

What are posting expectations?

You must write in past tense, third person. Please be active, and notify GM of absences. It is the hope to keep group scenes flowing at a comfortable pace for all.

Will there be Quidditch?

Yes, and Quidditch results will be determined through the Dicebot.

Can I organize my own event/group scene?

Yes, just ask GM for permission first.

Can I create a club for students to join?

Yes, as long as you get GM approval first.

What are playable ages?

At the University level, ages between 18 and 24 are acceptable.
First years would be 18/19, second years are 19/20, third years are 20/21, fourth years are 21/22, fifth years are 22/23, sixth years are 23/24, and seventh years are 24/25.
If you are playing a faculty member, they must be older than 25.

Are Uni students required to wear uniforms?

No, Uni students are allowed to wear what they want, within reason. A dress code would certainly be in effect for Hogwarts. Students are to dress appropriately.

Do Uni students sleep in the same dorms as the children who attend Hogwarts?

For our purposes, no. The dorms have been duplicated within the castle, so that Uni students are kept in an entirely separate part than where the children sleep. There is no access between the two dorms. Only Uni students will have access to the Uni section of dormitories.

Where can I go for more information about HP lore and the universe?

Harry Potter Wiki and Wizarding World (formerly Pottermore) are wonderful resources.

What if I have a question that wasn't posted here?

Just ask in the recruitment thread, or via a PM to the GM.

Wand Woods

Most wands are long, thin rods of wood with a magical substance embedded into their core.
Among the woods used are (according to Garrick Ollivander's notes):

Acacia:
A very unusual wand wood, which I have found creates tricky wands that often refuse to produce magic for any but their owner, and also withhold their best effects from all but those most gifted.

Alder:
Alder is an unyielding wood, yet I have discovered that its ideal owner is not stubborn or obstinate, but often helpful, considerate and most likeable.

Apple
Applewood wands are not made in great numbers. They are powerful and best suited to an owner of high aims and ideals, as this wood mixes poorly with Dark magic.

Ash:
The ash wand cleaves to its one true master and ought not to be passed on or gifted from the original owner, because it will lose power and skill. This tendency is extreme if the core is of unicorn.

Aspen:
Wand-quality aspen wood is white and fine-grained, and highly prized by all wand-makers for its stylish resemblance to ivory and its usually outstanding charmwork.

Beech:
The true match for a beech wand will be, if young, wise beyond his or her years, and if full-grown, rich in understanding and experience. Beech wands perform very weakly for the narrow-minded and intolerant.

Blackthorn:
Blackthorn, which is a very unusual wand wood, has the reputation, in my view well-merited, of being best suited to a warrior.

Black Walnut:
Less common than the standard walnut wand, that of black walnut seeks a master of good instincts and powerful insight. Black walnut is a very handsome wood, but not the easiest to master.

Cedar:
Whenever I meet one who carries a cedar wand, I find strength of character and unusual loyalty. My father, Gervaise Ollivander, used always to say, ‘you will never fool the cedar carrier,’ and I agree: the cedar wand finds its perfect home where there is perspicacity and perception.

Cherry:
This very rare wand wood creates a wand of strange power, most highly prized by the wizarding students of the school of Mahoutokoro in Japan, where those who own cherry wands have special prestige.

Chestnut:
This is a most curious, multi-faceted wood, which varies greatly in its character depending on the wand core, and takes a great deal of colour from the personality that possesses it.

Cypress:
Cypress wands are associated with nobility. The great medieval wandmaker, Geraint Ollivander, wrote that he was always honoured to match a cypress wand, for he knew he was meeting a witch or wizard who would die a heroic death.

Dogwood:
I have found that matching a dogwood wand with its ideal owner is always entertaining. Dogwood wands are quirky and mischievous; they have playful natures and insist upon partners who can provide them with scope for excitement and fun.

Ebony:
This jet-black wand wood has an impressive appearance and reputation, being highly suited to all manner of combative magic, and to Transfiguration.

English oak:
A wand for good times and bad, this is a friend as loyal as the wizard who deserves it. Wands of English oak demand partners of strength, courage and fidelity.

Elder:
The rarest wand wood of all, and reputed to be deeply unlucky, the elder wand is trickier to master than any other. It contains powerful magic, but scorns to remain with any owner who is not the superior of his or her company; it takes a remarkable wizard to keep the elder wand for any length of time.

Elm:
The unfounded belief that only pure-bloods can produce magic from elm wands was undoubtedly started by some elm wand owner seeking to prove his own blood credentials, for I have known perfect matches of elm wands who are Muggle-borns.

Fir:
My august grandfather, Gerbold Octavius Ollivander, always called wands of this wood ‘the survivor’s wand,’ because he had sold it to three wizards who subsequently passed through mortal peril unscathed.

Hawthorn:
The wandmaker Gregorovitch wrote that hawthorn ‘makes a strange, contradictory wand, as full of paradoxes as the tree that gave it birth, whose leaves and blossoms heal, and yet whose cut branches smell of death.’

Hazel:
A sensitive wand, hazel often reflects its owner’s emotional state, and works best for a master who understands and can manage their own feelings.

Holly:
Holly is one of the rarer kinds of wand woods; traditionally considered protective, it works most happily for those who may need help overcoming a tendency to anger and impetuosity.

Hornbeam:
Hornbeam selects for its life mate the talented witch or wizard with a single, pure passion, which some might call obsession (though I prefer the term ‘vision’), which will almost always be realised.

Larch:
Strong, durable and warm in colour, larch has long been valued as an attractive and powerful wand wood. Its reputation for instilling courage and confidence in the user has ensured that demand has always outstripped supply.

Laurel:
It is said that a laurel wand cannot perform a dishonourable act, although in the quest for glory (a not uncommon goal for those best suited to these wands), I have known laurel wands perform powerful and sometimes lethal magic.

Maple:
I have often found that those chosen by maple wands are by nature travellers and explorers; they are not stay-at-home wands, and prefer ambition in their witch or wizard, otherwise their magic grows heavy and lacklustre.

Pear:
This golden-toned wood produces wands of splendid magical powers, which give of their best in the hands of the warm-hearted, the generous and the wise. Possessors of pear wands are, in my experience, usually popular and well-respected.

Pine:
The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others, will adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells.

Poplar:
"If you seek integrity, search first among the poplars". Here is a wand to rely upon, of consistency, strength and uniform power, always happiest when working with a witch or wizard of clear moral vision.

Red Oak:
You will often hear the ignorant say that red oak is an infallible sign of its owner’s hot temper. In fact, the true match for a red oak wand is possessed of unusually fast reactions, making it a perfect duelling wand.

Redwood:
Wand-quality redwood is in short supply, yet constant demand, due to its reputation for bringing good fortune to its owner.

Rosewood:
Rosewood wands are quite rare. They are not very compatible with Dark magic as this wood represents love and purity. Rosewood wands are known to excel in love spells and healing magic.

Rowan:
Rowan wood has always been much-favoured for wands, because it is reputed to be more protective than any other, and in my experience renders all manner of defensive charms especially strong and difficult to break.

Silver lime:
This unusual and highly attractive wand wood was greatly in vogue in the nineteenth century. Demand outstripped supply, and unscrupulous wandmakers dyed substandard woods in an effort to fool purchasers into believing that they had purchased silver lime.

Spruce:
Unskilled wandmakers call spruce a difficult wood, but in doing so they reveal their own ineptitude. It is quite true that it requires particular deftness to work with spruce, which produces wands that are ill-matched with cautious or nervous natures, and become positively dangerous in fumbling fingers.

Sycamore:
The sycamore makes a questing wand, eager for new experience and losing brilliance if engaged in mundane activities. It is a quirk of these handsome wands that they may combust if allowed to become ‘bored'.

Vine:
Vine wands are among the less common types, and I have been intrigued to notice that their owners are nearly always those witches or wizards who seek a greater purpose, who have a vision beyond the ordinary and who frequently astound those who think they know them best.

Walnut:
Highly intelligent witches and wizards ought to be offered a walnut wand for trial first, because in nine cases out of ten, the two will find in each other their ideal mate.

Willow:
Willow is an uncommon wand wood with healing power, and I have noted that the ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it.

Yew:
Yew wands are among the rarer kinds, and their ideal matches are likewise unusual, and occasionally notorious. The wand of yew is reputed to endow its possessor with the power of life and death.

Wand Cores

Most wands made by Garrick Ollivander contain one of the three supreme core types, but there are others.
Among the substances used are (according to Garrick Ollivander's notes):

Unicorn hair:
Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may 'die' and need replacing.

Dragon heartstring:
As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts , though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

Phoenix feather:
This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike. Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won.

Veela hair:
The wandmaker Garrick Ollivander mentioned that he did not use Veela hair because it made for "temperamental" wands.

Thestral tail hair:
This core type is regarded as an unstable, if not difficult substance to use in wand making.

Troll whisker:
Troll whiskers is considered an inferior substance to Garrick Ollivander's three Supreme Cores.

Kelpie hair:
Early in my career, as I watched my wandmaker father wrestling with substandard wand core materials such as kelpie hair...

Thunderbird tail feather:
The tail feather of the Thunderbird was used as a wand core by the American wandmaker Shikoba Wolfe. Wolfe's wands were powerful but difficult to master, and were good for transfiguration work.

Wampus cat hair:
The hair of the Wampus cat was used as a wand core by the American wandmaker Johannes Jonker. Jonker experimented with many other cores before settling on the hair of this creature as his preferred kind. The core was also used by Isolt Sayre and James Steward when they begun making their own wands in the 17th century.

White River Monster spine:
This wand core was used by Thiago Quintana. Whit River Monster spines produce spells of force and elegance.

Rougarou hair:
The hair of the rougarou was used as a wand core by the American wandmaker Violetta Beauvais. Rougarou hair was rumoured to have an affinity for Dark magic, like vampires to blood.

Kneazle whiskers:
This is a rarely used wand core and is most likely considered a substandard core type.

Horned Serpent horn:
This wand core was used by Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry founders Isolt Sayre. The wands made from this core were exceptional powerful. They were also sensitive to Parseltongue and warn its owner of danger by emitting a low musical tone.

Snallygaster heartstring:
The core was used by Isolt Sayre and James Steward when they began making their own wands in the 17th century.

Jackalope antler:
The core was used by Isolt Sayre and James Steward when they began making their own wands in the 17th century.

Basilisk horn:
Only one wand is known to have used this core. It was made by Salazar Slytherin for a wand of his own making.

Wand Length and Flexibility

Most wands are between 9 - 14 inches long. Shorter wands (8 inches or less) and longer wands (15 inches or greater) do exist, but are extremely rare.

Typically, a wand is fit to the witch or wizard who intends to use it, based on his or her physical frame. However, there are other factors to consider than simple measurements. Longer wands may be ideal for a taller individual, but tend to fit with big personalities and a caster who has a preference for more theatrical style magic. Abnormally short wands, however, may be drawn to a person who is somehow inadequate in one way or another, rather than linking to a caster because they are physically petite. Neater wands have a preference toward poised and polished casting. It is important to note that no one factor in the composition of a wand is what makes it distinguishable, by itself, to the witch or wizard who seeks to use it.

The flexibility or rigidity of a wand speaks to its compliance or aversion to changing masters entirely, or temporarily relinquishing possession. Although, as stated, this single factor should not be isolated from the other components of a wand, nor the owner's magical experience and specific style of magic. All of these traits make each wand one-of-a-kind.

Words that are used to describe the resilience of a wand include (but are not limited to): Unyielding, Flexible, Springy, Inflexible, Bendy, Supple, Pliable, Stiff.

I'm in.  Though I'm slightly confused about the nature of the student body.  Are there no 11-17 year old students at Hogwarts anymore?  If there are, I assume they are simply NPCs in the background?  What would a 24 year old be considered?  A 13th year?

Glad to have so much interest! ^^

Thanks for the question. So, this game will be focused on the "university level" Hogwarts. For the purposes of complying with E's rules about age, and because 18+ tends to be a common 'comfort level' for lots of fellow writers, I decided to make it 18 and above. Hogwarts has students from 11-17 as usual, but in this game, no one is to portray one or even interact with one. For all intents and purposes, we can assume that all children (students in the secondary education portion of Hogwarts), are on a completely different schedule than the Uni students, and therefore, they do not interact. They will also be housed in a completely different part of the dorms, so that children and adults are never together at the same time.

I did some little edits to the character sheet. Now if you are making a faculty member, there will be two additional areas to fill out. Occupation and Alumni House. I also added birthplace as a piece of basic information to be included.

Also, I will get the OOC thread up tomorrow. Keep the sheets coming! I'm excited to see these characters coming to life!

Interested but a few questions!  And there will probably be more later.  I'm sorry to throw this all at you.

1.  Are living quarters the same for the collegiate level students as the primary ones?  Meaning all persons of the same gender and year group in one shared room?

2.  I have an idea for a new student at the university level who would also be new to Britain.  Half-Blood or Muggle-born probably but would be from the US, family recently moved to UK for the parents' work.  Would that kind of thing be all right or should this be kept to Britain?

3. Given current political climates/events, is there any Brexit type thing happening in the magical world or is what's happening with it in the Muggle world impacting the wizarding world at all?

4.  Modern technology wouldn't work in Hogwarts, but would it in Hogsmeade?  Do you see there being more understanding/knowledge of the Muggle world and technology or is it still like "Oh, your father's a plumber.  What on Earth is that?"

5. I love the detail on the wand info.  There's not much on cores that doesn't seem to be either "standard" or rare.  Can we suggest other wand cores?  Like wyvern barb, catoblepas hide, peryton antler, wendigo hair, thunderbird feather, that kind of thing?

Glad to have your interest! I'd be happy to answer questions.

1. College level students are in a different area than the primary/secondary aged students. With magic on her side, it's easy for Headmistress McGonagall to alter around the dormitories and expand them. So, I'm picturing it like that. Essentially, the college level students are all in their own college specific wing. The rule about gender still applies, and boys will be separated from girls. For those characters who identify as trans or non-binary or other, accommodations will be made to make sure they are comfortable.

2. A student who moves to the UK from the US is completely fine. I've seen many characters with this same scenario. In this case, your college aged student would need to be sorted, if this is their first year ever at Hogwarts.

3. The wizarding world and the muggle world have lived independently of each other for a very long time. That is how things will remain. Because of this, I don't imagine the Brexit has had any real impact on the wizarding world.

4. Hogsmeade is still a wizarding village. Meaning, technology would not work there either, I'm afraid. However, I will make a thread that takes place 'away' from Hogwarts, and people can post their characters returning home for the holidays or taking a trip to the muggle world, and there, they can use their technology as they wish. At Hogwarts, students can communicate through magic. There's a spell that allows one to write with their wand, so the words float in the air. There's also a way of communicating through notes, which can then be folded and flown to the recipient. There's also owl post to get letters and packages sent to Hogwarts, and back home.

5. Thunderbird Tail Feather is an option for a core, already. As for the made up ones, no, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to accept those options. There's nothing wrong with a 'standard' core. Frankly, they are what works the best. The wand wood is what makes it more unique.

I hope that helped. Feel free to ask anything else that comes to mind.  :-)

I'm gonna vote for Dylan Wang. The FC is 21 in RL, which is definitely a reasonable age for this game. Gackt on the other hand is 46, which is much too old for this game. I admit, he looks amazing for his age. But I think Dylan Wang is the way to go. ^^
