I'm totally cool with Chloe not liking her.  Naomi doesn't really do the competing with other girls thing, and that can make her oblivious to how her behavior can affect people.  She also doesn't do jealousy or possessiveness, so, again, it can completely go over her head.  But, if she's told by someone that they're not available, she doesn't push.

Still, doesn't mean she wouldn't be friendly and fun with them.  She doesn't like to censor her own personality just to keep someone from feeling jealous.  She figures the fact that she's not actively trying to have sex with the person who's set the boundaries is enough.

My character is approved if anyone would like to discuss connections or romantic interests :)

la dame en noir

My Girl was just approved! :D I'll definitely be on the look out for connections.

NAME: Isis London Richardson
AGE: Probably 18, but here just in case
CLIQUES: Band(Cello Player) - Nerd(Video Games/Comics/Reading) - Popular(Her incredible looks)
PLANS: University
DREAM: A famous writer
CAR: None - She likes to bike everywhere

HOBBIES: Music(Composition, Listening, and Playing), Writing/Reading, Illustration, Video Games, and Designing(clothes, costumes, and programs)

ABOUT: Isis doesn't have a very colorful life. Despite her good grades, looks, and talent - her home life wasn't anything would assume she would have to go through. While her parents were well off and had the finer things in life - she wasn't exactly a spoiled child. Jonathan, her father, was a plastic surgeon - bringing in most of the money to the household. Tiffany, her mother, was abusive. Tiffany had goals for Isis at a very young age - fame and fortune. Isis grew up a prodigy in many different art forms; dance, music, and programming were just a few. Tiffany wanted to exploit that talent for popularity. For years, Isis would practice into the late hours of the night with her mother never caring to give her a break. If that wasn't the worst, Isis found her mother cheating on her father while he was away on business. Despite all of this, Isis went through school with impeccable grades and a level head - as leveled as it could get.

While her home life was never the best - Isis never had a poor attitude for what it counts. Isis was undeniably one of the nicest people anyone could ever hope to run into. She always has a positive outlook on life, not once letting her home life effect her work. Isis is incredibly smart and observant. She doesn't get mad very easily, but its been said that she does live with severe anxiety. The only time she does not go through its effects is when she's at home. Isis is an attentive and helpful person. Sexually, she has never been with anyone and hopes that changes one day.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Winning a young writers prize worth $10,000 dollars. It was a risky young adult novel that got her the grand prize. It was the stepping stone that solidified what she needed and wanted to pursue in life.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Her private diary was raided through where everyone discovered that she was actually a closeted Lesbian. She was more ashamed that she hid it, not that people found out.

There's one more character sheet coming in for approval but otherwise I'm closing character submissions for now. I'm going to make the character sheet thread and then once everyone's posted their character I'll be tallying up what we have.

Bibs, given the surprising (though actually not-so-surprising) number of "outcast" types that quarry idea certainly sounds like it'll fit more than Benny's basement. I'm assuming everyone's going to want a thread for their characters' homes, so in addition to tallying what we have I'm also going to tally how many location threads we can create. I'm probably going to have two separate threads for rotating locations: one for parties at NPC-student houses, and one for events outside of town such as the camping trip.

After I've created the Character Sheets thread I'll be catching up on my Mentoring duties and stories I owe, so I might not get to deeper character planning on plotting with you guys until some time later. Even if the history is minor, I want to make sure everyone has a good idea of where they stand with Aaron and Benny. I will also get the OOC discussion thread together tomorrow. From there we'll see if the story will start this week or on Monday next week.

Bibliophilia

I'm thinking of making up a second character, but I am still pondering ideas.  -sprawls.-  I'm cool with the basement, Capone, it's just that the parties at quarries or off in the woods always seemed so much more wild and fun.

Capone

Honestly as the number of outcasts have grown I've been wondering how Benny would sufficiently keep them all entertained anyway. Quarry or forest party seems like it'd make more sense. OR they could party up in the old abandoned house where the old lady is said to have hung all her grandchildren before leaping off the roof.

Because nothing screams "outcasts" like a party at a haunted house.

Anywho, feel free to post your character sheets for those of you approved. Note that I've added a spoiler tag labeled "Connections" so you can outline your histories with as much detail as you'd like.

And now, to live up to my mentor tag!

FeveredDreams

As someone playing a goth,  I am down for getting a lil tipsy at a haunted house.
Are you afraid of me now?

Well, crud.  Guess I was working on a character for the last several hours for nothing.  :(

Capone

You expressed interest all the way back on page one so I'll allow a character sheet submission. Same goes for Haru329 should he drop back in with a character idea.

AribethAmkiir

Okay, thanks.  I got caught up with family obligations this weekend, but I'll have it finished here soon.

GnothiSeauton

Since there's no OOC yet, just wanted to say my new dude has been approved recently.  Posted him up in the Confirmed Character thread to keep it a bit more tidy here.  Always up for connections and whatnot, and I'll try to reach out to a few people here later today.

NAME: Oliver Timmons
AGE: 17
CLIQUES: Nerds/Athletes (Track & Field)/Popular (Tangentially)
PLANS: Attending M.I.T. and pursuing dual Doctorates in Discrete Mathematics and Combinatorics & Theoretical Physics
DREAM: Teaching advanced Mathematics at M.I.T. while exploring new ideas in Theoretical Physics involving p-branes and supergravity.  Receiving a Nobel Prize for scientific discovery and a MacArthur Genius Grant.
CAR: His mom's 2015 black Kia Optima
HOBBIES: Video games, board games/card games, programming, crochet, reading, meticulously graphed mandala designs, volunteering at the animal shelter

ABOUT:

Oliver's parents knew he was smart when he started speaking at nine months, and began doing basic arithmetic at thirteen months.  His rapid mental development was a blessing and a curse, because it made it difficult for the boy to connect to other children his age.  The resulting social and emotional impact worried his parents, and so they did everything they could to ensure their son wouldn't end up incapable of relating to 'normal' people.  It was difficult, and largely involved keeping him in public school, helping him to cope with the struggles that came from living in the real world and making certain his mind was constantly being challenged and expanded outside of school.

They only allowed him to be skipped forward a grade one time, not wanting there to be too large a disparity between his age and that of his classmates.  He often got frustrated with the boredom he experienced in class, and had a difficult time learning how to keep himself occupied in a way that wasn't disruptive to his classmates.  Luckily, his teachers all understood his unique issues and as long as he was quiet, they never took issue with him seeming to be off in his own world.  While he did sometimes get annoyed at being forced to attend classes that seemed so remedial to him, he understood why his parents had kept him there and he was grateful for all they did to ensure he remained as challenged as possible.

His summers were most often spent at some form of science or math camp, and they took him to all the lectures and exhibits that he could ask for.  Family vacations were always to places like Washington, D.C., where he could visit the Smithsonian Institute, or Houston, Texas, where he toured NASA, rather than Disneyland or the Grand Canyon.  His younger sister often complained about these trips, but his parents did their best to make sure they also visited more fun tourist attractions as well.  Still, Oliver knew that his 'gift' made life more difficult for his family, and his sister sometimes suffered from the short end of the stick.

When he was in seventh grade, he discovered an additional gift in the form of speed.  He'd always loved running and it was the only form of physical activity that he placed even remotely on par with his love of math and science.  His father was the one who suggested he try out for the track team, and he was so proud of himself when he impressed the coach with his 400 meter sprint.  He stayed on the team all the way through high school and knew it added a little extra oomph to his college application.  As did the tutoring he did for the other students in his school, and his unimpeachable grades.  The only blemish on his otherwise impeccable GPA was a C in AP English that kept him from becoming the Valedictorian.

MOMENTS OF GLORY:  Beating their rival school's best sprinter at the 200m during the last track and field meet of his Senior year.  The time he set off a chemical reaction in AP Chemistry that caused the whole school to be evacuated and the rest of the school day canceled so that the fumes could be aired out.

MOMENTS OF SHAME:  Asking one of the most popular girls in school to go to prom with him, at lunchtime, in front of everyone in the cafeteria.  Needless to say, it didn't go well and he was the butt of a lot of jokes.  Showing up at a party he'd been told was a costume party dressed as Archimedes, only to discover it wasn't a costume party and everyone thought he was Zeus, God or (to his horror) 'Santa at a toga party?'

Lady Sakura

Oooh he looks fun Bibliophilia!

Roxy would have been in AP Chem as well. Do you think they could have been lab partners for lab?

dead radio

Hello there! My character got approved, too, and I'm currently looking for connections (fellow tokers, an ex-boyfriend or whatever might pop in your wicked minds).  :-)

Bibliophilia

Dead, darling, your adorable girl could be friends with Naomi!  She's also a stoner.

Capone

Bibs, I'm gonna request we put him on the back burner until I've gotten a final tally together. We may be in need of more males by the end, but for now due to the cut-off dead radio, Aribeth and, should he come back around, Haru are the last to be allowed through. In addition, I'd like to prioritize new players over secondary characters, if that's alright.

I'll let you know once I've had a chance to tally all the things up.

I got my character accepted!

Gwynn Cameron

NAME: Gwynn Cameron
AGE: 18
CLIQUES: Honors Student, Cheerleader
PLANS: Ailey School of Dance and Fordham University - Ailey/Fordham BFA
DREAM: Professional Dancer/Choreographer
CAR: None

HOBBIES: Dancing (Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Modern), Cheerleading, Shopping/Fashion, Music, Movies, Joining Clubs

ABOUT: Gwynn is the single child of an opthamologist and the medical director of the local hospital.  While her family may be “rich” by local standards, that’s actually far from the truth.  Regardless of her family’s status, one thing has been constant throughout the last eight years of Gwynn’s life - she loves to dance.  Part of the illusion of her family’s wealth is the fact that she’s spent the last three summers in New York attending The Ailey School of Dance’s Summer Intensive program.  Going into her freshman year, she made an agreement with her parents that instead of a car they’d pay for her to attend the dance program, as long as she maintained her grades and stayed out of trouble.

Originally, she joined the cheer squad because it was the closest thing to dance the small high school had, but after a few months Gwynn discovered that she enjoyed it.  However, between homework, cheer practice, and her dance classes Gwynn had little time to socialize.  Of course, she attended the large parties after the big games, and after the school dances, and was able to hang-out with friends during the weekends, but that was it.

Beginning her Junior year, Gwynn began joining clubs - student council, FBLA, National Honor Society, The Talent Show, and the Yearbook committee in an effort to both round-out her college resume and, more importantly, increase her social outlets.  She went on a few dates with a number of guys, but didn’t date anyone exclusively, or for an extended period of time.

This last summer she’s decided to stay in town, spend time with friends, and have some fun before starting the next stage of her journey.  It could be said that since she discovered she wasn’t accepted into Julliard she’s been less focused and directed, and more willing to “slack off”.

MOMENTS OF GLORY: Being asked to the senior homecoming dance by the guy she’d been crushing on since sophomore year.  Choreographing a dance routine for the cheer squad.  Amazing people with her dance routine during the Talent show.  Auditioning for Julliard.

MOMENTS OF SHAME: Not being interviewed after making the third call back during her Julliard audition.  Over-rotating and falling off-stage, onto her face, in front of the whole school during a pep rally.  Having a mishap in which her cheer skirt was nearly pulled completely off during a tumbling routine with the school mascot.

Looking for connections: BFFs, crushes, frenemies, rivals, etc.   Open to any and all suggestions.  I had made a list of my own suggestions, but it seems I failed to post it.

Jason Hunter

Hey Ari, I wouldn't mind my character having a crush on you if you are keen to discuss something.
