Didn't think of that. Sounds good to me! I'll fix up a few things on my character.

Taking into consideration these changes, what would you say her class would be? I'm still not very clear on the classes.

I'd say she's only a Gamma, now. They're government given ranks based on how big of a 'rampage' that person might go on. A threat to the state ranking. Since she could only really knock out one or two people she's gamma at the moment. If she became capable of doing more, she'd go up in ranking. She's just so limited on what actions she can take that she'd get caught and killed by the police very quickly if she tried to go on a killing spree.

It's my fault on the classes though, I'll write up something more concrete.

CandyLips

I wasn't really sure what it was based on, but that clears it up. Thanks!

Also, I wrote in the updates to her weaknesses (and wrote in her class). Please, do not hesitate to tell me if I need to clarify it any better. My mind gets a little jumbled at times.

Totoro

I added it into the CS but here's the classes. Only a first draft but it gets a summary in.

Omega: No PC may reach this tier. Any Omega tier mutant is considered a threat on an international or even planetary level. They are capable of defeating armies single handed, with relative ease. The most advanced of military weaponry is little to nothing relative to their power. They can level cities and it would take dozens of even Alpha class mutants to try to combat them.

Alpha: These characters could kill hundreds, or possibly thousands, if they went on a rampage. Ordinary police or swat teams would struggle a great deal to put them down, although it may be possible with fortunate circumstances. They could oppose real military forces for at least some time and hold their own. The most powerful Alphas (Charles, Magneto, Juggernaut) are capable of causing destruction on a city wide scale, but most are not.

Beta: These characters pose a threat beyond that of any regular human. They could likely kill several hundred people if they went on a thought out rampage. But they are at least somewhat vulnerable to ordinary police forces or at most a SWAT team. They would struggle to hold up to a military presence, and could not cause wide scale destruction on the scale of a city. The strongest Betas may be able to destroy a medium sized town, provided they were not answered efficiently.

Gamma: These mutants are beyond humans but are not often a true 'military' tier threat. They would struggle in a combat situation if approached by a SWAT team or higher, although they may be able to handle minor police forces.

Delta: These mutants only just stretch beyond the realm of human capability. At this tier they would be able to be taken down by a few people, or perhaps one trained combatant, with relative ease. They are not regarded as a serious threat at all.

Epsilon: These mutants, while often impossible, are generally only mutants in appearance as opposed to 'power'. Things such as blue skin, bright golden eyes, or other similar mutations. They are no more of a threat to humanity than any other person is.

She's approved now. Bear in mind she'll have to be treated with care in group fight scenes, but I'm sure that'll be fine.

Post her in the approved character threads, and then head to the OOC to get some connections. Charles/Bishop are always open to connections. I can try to give you a run down of 'current events' via PM if you'd like.

A PM would be wonderful. I actually have to run because a friend's car battery died and I gotta go help them out, so I'll pick this back up hopefully later tonight. Thanks for all your help! ^_^

Looking to get my sheet for Hijack in tonight or tomorrow :D Busy weekend and all that. :)

Indeed, if all goes to plan, I should have a sheet for Blackout in tonight as well.

Awesome on both, looking forward to them.

I'm removing the reserves on Jubilee, Beast, Emma Frost and Magma as I haven't heard anything for a while. If the people who reserved them are still interesting please reply here or PM me.

Totoro

I think we're reaching about 'capacity' at the moment. When it comes to recruitment I'm really only looking for:

Iceman
Beast
Nightcrawler
Angel
Banshee
Warpath

Other stuff might be accepted, but those are very much priorities.

There's a handful of characters reserved that I haven't heard anything about for a while. Not going to do anything but I'd appreciate some form of update if people still want:

-Beast
-Angel
-Emma Frost
-Jubilee
-Magma

I'd just like a PM or reply here saying you still want the character. Thanks.

I'm actually gonna be giving up my claim for Emma Frost. I just couldn't get the sheet working in a way that made me happy.

Thanks for the notice. Sorry I didn't PM you personally, I lost track of who reserved what because I lacked the forethought to tag who reserved what.

CandyLips

Are you still only looking for pre-made characters? Cause I'm thinking of making a second character, but it would be my own custom character.

Players already in the game are free to make OC's.

The rule of trying to go with big name canon stuff is mostly for new players joining.

So feel free. :)

Venom

The Basics
Full Name: Camelia "Cam" Tuft
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Nationality: American
Occupation: Student

Physical Description
Hair Colour: Blonde
Eye Colour: Blue
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 117 lbs
Face Claim: Scarlett Leithold
Physical Features: No differences from the face claim

General Appearance: Cam normally dresses in jeans and tees, but occasionally dresses up whenever she feels a little more girly. When fighting, she typically wears something that reveals at least her cleavage.

Who they are

Personality: Cam is a social butterfly who loves spending time with people; She tends to dislike being alone. She enjoys drinking and partying and dislikes pushy men and seeing others kissing.

Cam doesn't necessarily agree with Charles's approach and believes that it's too gentle and seems a bit weak. She definitely does not approve of the US Government imprisoning mutants. She believes that all mutants have the right to live their lives as they wish rather than be forced to remain under surveillance or behind lock and key. The Brotherhood's ideology is something she understands, but does not fully agree with. She feels anger against humans for taking her life away, but she also understands that not every human is to blame.

Biography: Before Cam arrived at the school, she was a model. While she hadn't become famous, she was definitely getting there. Unfortunately, the more deadly of her mutant abilities was discovered after a photoshoot when the photographer forced himself on her. He didn't get far, though. He forced his tongue nearly down her throat and suffered dearly for it. He survived to inform the cops that she wasn't human... though he had to write it on paper from his hospital bed.

Up until the incident, Cam lived a mostly normal life. She was adopted as a baby by Alexander and Benjamin Tuft. They were loving, supportive fathers and had no problem giving her as much space as she needed. They also had interest in her modelling career and did anything and everything they could to help her follow her dreams. And although Cam never came home with a boy, they never questioned her as to why. They had a trusting relationship and shared everything with one another... or so they thought.

Cam had her first kiss when she was nine years old with a sweet boy named Matthew. They had a cute little relationship for two years, until he moved away. He was her first and her last. She was heartbroken when he left and didn't want to find another boyfriend for a while. By the time she had recovered, it was too late. It was a good thing, though. She was glad that she wasn't dating anyone when her powers revealed themselves.

Cam never told anyone about her mutant abilities and never sought out any mutant groups to make friends with those of her own kind. She did everything she could to make sure no one ever found out. She didn't kiss anyone or share food or drinks with anyone; she made excuses about being a germophobe so people wouldn't question it. She never intentionally caused harm to anyone and maintained human friendships without anyone questioning whether she was human or not. Because of this ability to live amongst humans, she never quite understood why humans would hate or fear mutants. After being apprehended, she did become angry since it wasn't her fault... It was a human's fault.

Superpowers & Equipment

Class: Gamma

Power Name:

Toxic Spit: Cam's saliva contains Sanguarine, a dangerous toxin and escharotic substance. Her saliva causes living tissue to die by causing the cells to begin to kill themselves. If someone were to get some on their skin, it would leave behind a massive black scab of dead flesh.

Charm: Cam's pores release pheromones that induce attraction towards her. This power can help her trick her enemies into coming closer or simply assist her in making friends more easily. Those who are being charmed will feel pleasure and may be put into a state of high suggestibility. She cannot control someone's mind, only influence them with suggestions. Anyone who is strong-willed can resist. Those who are not attracted to females also have an easier time resisting. This power is mostly used as a defense in convincing someone to not harm her, but can also be used to seduce someone into being subserviant to her as they become charmed by her beauty. When she's not targeting anyone in particular, she can affect everyone in her immediate vicinity (approximately 15 ft radius from her) when there's no wind. If the wind is against her, those in front of her would not be affected. When she focuses on a specific target, she can reach up to 50 ft without wind.

Regeneration: Cam can use plants to heal her own wounds. She covers the affected area with living plants, which slowly die to heal her. This allows her to heal more quickly and without leaving scars. She can't heal extremely quickly like Wolverine, but she does heal faster than normal humans would. The process can take anywhere from few minutes to a few hours, depending on the severity. She has to ability to regrow limbs that have been cut off as long as she can remain focused through the pain. For this, she would have to kill a lot of plants - approximately 100 square feet of forest. It would leave behind a large black patch of forest that would need to be completely cleared out down to the roots before anything could grow again.

Equipment Name: None

Flaws or Weaknesses

Weakness Name:

Temperature Vulnerability: Cam cannot handle extreme temperatures. When below 45 degrees, she is prone to frostbite and hypothermia. When above 85 degrees, she prone to heat stroke and dehydration. So while others could go out and enjoy the beach on a hot day, she would most likely be indoors in AC. And while 45 degrees isn't enough to snow, she would be bundled up head to toe like it's 10 degrees out.
Below 35 degrees: frostbite and hypothermia (increases in severity with amount of time and lower temperatures)
35-44 degrees: shivering uncontrollably, loss of coordination
45-85 degrees: comfortable temperature
86-95 degrees: sweating profusely, dehydration begins
Above 95 degrees: Heat stroke

Organic-based: Anyone who is made of or shielded by inorganic matter cannot be harmed by her toxic saliva. In addition, anyone who is not made of organic matter cannot be affected by her pheromones.

Flaw Name:

Tease: Cam his a beautiful young woman with a flirtatious personality, but she never puts out. Her beauty seems to draw people to her only for her to shrug off their advances. She had decided to never get serious with anyone and has done just that for years now, so denying anyone's advances has become second-nature to her, causing her to seem like a bitch at times.

Platonic Dependence: Cam hates being alone. She has always had a lot of friends growing up and always had an active relationship with her parents. She feels more at ease surrounded by people and begins to feel anxiety and loneliness when no one is around. She is incapable of even studying alone and requires someone there to study with her, but mostly seeks out study groups. She attaches herself to friends very quickly and feels hurt when they don't want to spend time with her and betrayed if they are spending more time with their boyfriend/girlfriend instead of her.

What counts as extreme temperatures for her? Is she more vulnerable to them than an ordinary human. And why is she vulnerable to them.

How fast can she heal, and what's the worst injury she can heal.

She is vulnerable to them because her mutation is plant-based. She is more vulnerable to temperature than normal humans. She begins to feel the effects above 85 degrees and below 45 degrees. So while others could go out and enjoy the beach on a hot day, she would most likely be indoors in AC. Could you note the temperatures that start to hit here. How hot/cold would it have to be to start actually injuring her?

Could you note down the details of the healing on her profile too.

Throw the max ranges on the profile. How powerful is the aura? IE if someone is trying to shoot her in the face can she just say 'no'. And what is the defense against it. Since right now getting her within 50ft of The Juggernaut or Magneto is game over. But if it just makes them a bit more suggestible those two are far too strong willed to change to suggestion.

The aura is not something that can control people's minds and those who are strong-willed can resist. Also those who are not attracted to females have an easier time resisting as well. It's more of basic suggestion and charming those into not harming her.

Also, edited the profile. Let me know if it needs anymore changes or clarifications! ^_^

That's all good. I'd like if she had another 'human' flaw not related to her powers. How would you feel about including this part of her personality "She tends to dislike being alone." into a flaw. Just expand a little bit on what's 'wrong' with her as a person.

I think that would be a good one and interesting but if there's another flaw you'd prefer you can use that instead, or as well.

The Basics
Full Name: Roberto da Costa / Robert Constance
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Nationality: Brazilian/American (Dual-Citizenship)
Occupation: Student

Physical Description
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Face Claim: D.J. Cotrona
Physical Features: Essentially the same as the face claim. When he uses his powers, his body and clothing become as black as empty space, as he uses up the ambient light in his body.

General Appearance: Robert is a handsome young man, graced by his father's good genes and an active, athletic lifestyle. He hates being called "Fabio" but it's a name people have joking used for him more than once--naturally tan skin, dark hair, and a defined build perfect for sweeping someone off of their feet and riding off into the sunset on a white stallion.

Despite coming from money, he dresses simple and casual. T-shirts, jeans, comfortable shoes and boots, he doesn't like to show off the money his family has, instead preferring to fit in as best he can.

Who The Are

Personality: Roberto is, for the most part...Normal. Raised by a wealthy family, in a good environment, with loving parents, why would he not be? He's polite and kind to all he meets, or tries to be anyway. There are no serious mental traumas hiding under his psyche that torture or drive him. He has no deep, dark, painful secrets that make him distant from the ones he loves most. He's just a guy, if a bit jock-ish at times. A normal young man that dreams to be more than he is, to make a difference, and find some kind of happiness in life, and a world that seems intent on keeping him and others like him down. He can be hotheaded at times, rash and brash, but he tries to be a good guy in essence, aspiring to be a model member of the X-Men and a leading example for mutants.

He's also, however, well aware of how attractive he is, and has no problem flirting with the ladies. He's not prone to attachment, more susceptible to quick flings with ladies that catch his eye. But he always remembers their names, likes, habits, and what they tell him. If the right girl shows up, he could settle down...But until she does, he likes having his fun. Some of this relates back to the pains he still feels from the death of his first love, Juliana, and he's not been able to put himself that open with someone again, yet he tries to treat every woman properly, and deserving of enjoying life.

Biography: Roberto da Costa is the son of Brazilian millionaire Emmanuel da Costa and his American wife Nina, an archaeologist. Roberto first manifested his superhuman mutant powers when, at the age of fourteen, he was playing in a championship soccer match for his school team in Rio de Janeiro. Motivated by racial hatred, a boy named Keller and another member of the opposing team knocked da Costa to the ground. The hot-tempered da Costa retaliated by tackling Keller, who began brutally beating Roberto. It was then that, without being aware of what was happening to him, da Costa first manifested his superhuman strength. His body and clothing temporarily turned black in the process, and he inadvertently hurled Keller away from him. Confused and frightened, da Costa sought help, but both the other players and most of the spectators panicked and fled. His parents were quick to rush to his aid, though, in a time where the world was quick to demonize mutant-kind. His girlfriend at the time, Juliana Sandoval, was probably the biggest help for the young boy in such a trying time.

Roberto's powers attracted the attention of anti-mutant extremists in Brazil, who tried to attack and kill the young boy, despite the power and influence his father had. Money could only buy security for so long, however--that was when three guests showed up at the de Costa family compound. Dr. Moira MacTaggert, her young adopted daughter Rahne, and another representative for Professor Charles Xavier, who offered to help the young Robert. The extremists had kidnapped his girlfriend, however, and Roberto only agreed to go with them if they would help him rescue her.

Negotiations began, but quickly turned south, as the extremists tried to kill Roberto and the other mutants. Roberto's life was saved only by Juliana jumped in front of him, taking a bullet for him. Moira would help his father find the extremist leader who was behind everything, and see that the man faced justice for the crime--sad as it was, the legal system was motivated much more by the death of a young human girl, than the violent and horrific attacks the extremists had committed against mutants. Before he could bring any further harm to his family, Roberto left Brazil with Moira, and went to America to begin study at Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning.

He befriended the shy Rahne in their travels, as she provided some solace to him as he mourned Juliana's death, offering him what guidance she could from Scripture and faith. He was sad she didn't remain in America with him, and the two became penpals of sorts while she still lived in Scotland with her adoptive mother.

Agreeing to stay at the school, he focused on his studies and training on how to control his powers, and would soon join the X-Men team. His father, meanwhile, become a prominent international pro-mutant advocate, using his resouces as the CEO of DaCosta International to help push for and promote mutant rights. It's been the support from his parents that has kept Robert, as he slightly changed his name in America just to avoid causing blowback on his parents, even-tempered about the growing tensions in the country.

While he can't support all of what the government does, he knows enough of politics from his father to know most politicians have been given little choice. Recognizing that there are people in the White House and Congress that want to help mutants, he tries to give them the benefit of the doubt, even as over the years tensions and laws have become more and more painful. The Brotherhood, however, he views as little better than the same extremists that killed Juliana, simple acting on the opposite side of the coin, and holds little concern or patience for their arguments--to him they only make things worse for all of mutant-kind.

Superpowers & Equipment

Class: Beta

Power Name:

  • Solar Radiation Absorption - He can absorb solar energy and can utilize it for a variety of feats. Sunspot can store solar-derived energy in his cells through the same, or a similar, method as how normal humans gain energy from food and release it when necessary to enhance himself. His body is cloaked in darkness because he drains all the ambient light from his skin.
  • Solar Re-Channeling - The process in which he converts absorbed solar energy and uses it in various ways, including:

    • Flight - He possess the ability to fly by propelling himself through the air, by force of will, by generating thermal updrafts. Bobby has also refined this ability to be able to hover in the air without leaving a heat trail, and can reach speeds of up to 150 mph maximum without over exerting himself.
    • Enhanced Strength - When Sunspots cells are powered by solar energy he can augment his physical strength. Through training, he can currently push himself to be able to lift up to thirty tons of weight.
    • Enhanced Durability - When burning energy, he is not extra durable or invulnerable. While over times he's seen his resilience increase slightly, for the most part he is only as durable as needed to safely use his enhanced strength without tearing his body apart--he can't deflect bullets or handle sustained beatings.
    • Thermokinesis - He can project heat in intense waves as he absorbs and re-channels solar energy. Typically this means his body runs a bit warmer than usual for a human. He can also absorb ambient heat from the environment into his body to lower the temperature (he can't effect a space larger than a typical classroom) or expend heat to raise temperatures. He can also project or absorb heat from people, hearing or chilling them--an ability he does not use often, due to the dangers of messing with someone's body temperature. This also requires physical contact. He can put out fires simply by walking into the burning building and absorbing all the heat energy.
    • Thermokinetic Concussive/Energy Blasts - He can focus excess energy and heat in his body out as potent fire blasts. They produce more bang than damage, however, and are more similar to military grade concussive and flashbang grenades--or stronger, if he pushes himself.
    • Dark Solar Plasma Blasts - Sunspot can project dark plasma energy blasts from his hands, with a force behind them equal to half of his physical strength on average. His most powerful blast had twenty tons of force behind it, and left him unconscious for an hour from the blowback.
    • Self-Sustenance - Perhaps because his body converts solar radiation into energy in a process similar to (if infinitely more efficient than) the normal process for food, he can provide nourishment for himself and go without food or drink for days. His body is also extremely efficient and produces no waste. In his solar form, he can also rapidly heal from injury, at the cost of burning through his energy stores that much faster.
    • Fire and Heat Immunity - Sunspot is immune to all forms of hear and fire, as they simply add to his abilities as his mutant biology converts the energy into such for his own use. This includes heat from other mutant abilities, explosions from human weaponry, fire, and even weather conditions.

Equipment Name:

  • Solar Suit - He calls it that, but it's basically a customized uniform that doesn't burn off when he activates his powers. It's also resistant to most small arms fire.

Flaws or Weaknesses

Weakness Name:

  • If not in direct contact with sunlight (aka, at night or in enclosed spaces) he can burn through his energy stores quickly. How fast he burns through his stores depends on how excessive he uses his powers--using energy blasts will deplete him much faster than simple enhancing his strength and flying around. In high stress/high combat situations, he can last for an hour to two hours before losing his abilities.
  • He isn't super durable--he can be shot and killed, beaten, or stabbed just as easily as most people can. This is somewhat less dire in his solar form, but devastating blows while he's powered down can drop him before he can do a thing about it.

Flaw Name:

  • At times he can lose his temper, almost unduly. He works to keep a calm head, but some things just set him off--racist stereotypes (more so from being South American than being a mutant), being mocked, or insulting his family or honor.
  • He has little patience for people he sees as just being stupid for no reason. This includes most Brotherhood actions, some government actions, and the actions of most of the human populace. And at times his life of privilege can show through, as he just fails to understand the lives of those who had had to struggle to survive.

There is still some WIP done, but this is the basics of her to see if I'm on the right track for approval.

Hey! Is the list of taken characters up to date? Just wonderings. :)

Ace Flyer

Hmmm...Yes, mostly, I think so. The only people not on there I think are Sunspot, and someone recently applied for Domino. But the rest is up to date.
