Okay. What am I missing? Did I do better?

he's also used his power to accelerate organic material on a few occasions either causing them to explode or enhancing their own physical capabilities.

That sentence from the middle of the first powers paragraph contradicts the flaw stating he can't affect organic matter. I'd say have him unable to affect organic matter as it's a good weakness. I would also add 'Cannot affect anything he can't touch' to weaknesses. (Having multiple weaknesses isn't the end of the world, it just lets people see what his downsides are)

Other than that he's all good now.

Just to say we're still recruiting but with a definite emphasis on students as opposed to teachers. Gender doesn't matter.

Looking to get back into writing again and wondering if perhaps y'all had room for a Chamber?

Doomsday

Howdy Sasquatch! I remember you from X-Men Re-imagined :D Is that Emplate in your pic? Scary ass dude.

Sasquatch421

How's it going Doomsday? Yes, it's Emplate... I've always been a fan of his, have a D.O.A avatar somewhere as well....

Doomsday

Doing well, I'm all for more Re-Imagined folks joining this game :D I've been reading the latest Uncanny X-Men as it comes to Marvel Unlimited, the art they use for Emplate is straight up Lovecraftian, pretty nifty.

Juggtacular

Well Sasquatch, I can say to my knowledge we don't have a Chamber. But we'd love to have one. Just know that in this particular world, his struggle will be even harder than it normally is. Which is saying a lot. At least it'll be good drama though. :D

Just to re-iterate and agree with Juggernaut, definitely welcome. Would he be a student though? Because we're a little bit overrun with teachers right now.

(If you really want him as a teacher let me know and we can discuss it.)

And make sure to stay away from any of the Omega-potential bits he's got, if that's alright.

Thanks!

Considering my other choices were bouncing between Lifeguard and Caliban? Chamber might have it easiest... Plus it will be good to step in Jono's shoes again, it's been awhile since I've written him.

It's been awhile since I've read anything... My local comic store shut down so I have nothing! There are OC's if I remember correctly so who knows? Perhaps Warblade, Jazinda or even a Kitsune powered Nikki Williams could show up? (Tama might remember Nikki from Lunar's Classic X-Men...) Then again I could always dig up Alexi Quinn or dust off Sunspot or Cannonball?

He will be a student. Omega wise I think those came after his Apocalypse blood power up...

Glad to have a student. And yeah, they did, I just clarify that to anyone playing someone who's ever been Omega. :p

Sasquatch421

Yeah, my Jono will take after the classic Generation X days. Granted while Pete Wisdom claimed that Chamber has Omega potential the writers really don't use him for anything other then an extra...

Honestly got to confess I don't know a huge amount about him. But I look forward to learning. At least it gives you a fair deal of leeway. (And most of the big names are taken)

A lot of really interesting concepts have been sidelined over the years.

Sasquatch421

I can keep a lot of it in his history though he will have no clue that he is Blink's cousin or even that he is descended from En Sabbah Nur.

Good call, got no Blink yet and Apocalypse is a 'maybe' for a long way down the line.

I'll work on a Blink soon.   Pulling a few days in a row at work.

Rogue

    The Basics
Full Name: Anna Marie (Surname Unknown)
    Age: 21
    Gender: Female
    Nationality: American
Occupation: "Student" / X-Men Team Member

    Physical Description
    Hair Color: Auburn
    Eye Color: Green
    Height: 5'8"
    Weight: 120 lbs (54 kg)
    Face Claim: Eliza Dushku
Physical Features: As seen on her face claim, with the exception of a white-streak in her hair, as typical with her canonical presentation. See image to the side for an example.

General Appearance: Rogue is a slender and beautiful young woman, though she does what she can to mask some of it. Typically she wears heavy, skin-covering clothes. Long-sleeved shirts, gloves, coats and jackets, long pants and boots...More often than not, the only skin visible on her body is that of her face and neck and maybe some cleavage if she's feeling in a good mood--after all, no one should be touching there anyway, and if they do and suffer the effects of her powers, then that is their fault. She has been known to wear normal or more revealing clothes, but typically only somewhere she's comfortable.

Her hair is typically kept between shoulder length and the middle of her back, as shorter hair exposes the back of her neck to being touched. When she wears make-up it tends to be darker, and on most days someone could accuse her of being a punk or goth and not be too wrong.

    Who They Are

Personality: Rogue could, potentially, be labeled as bipolar. Due to the nature of her upbringing and her powers, she is often withdrawn, associating rarely with others. This can make her seem to be cold, and at times downright bitchy, to those around her. But the behavior in her mind is needed to protect everyone around her. She can significantly harm them with just a touch...As lonely as her life is, she would take the loneliness and solitude over the guilt of hurting more people.

But, sometimes on a dime, all that can change. Perhaps aspects of absorbed personalities surfacing, the woman becomes more open, friendlier, while still cautious about her personal space. At times she could even be called a shameless flirt. This most often happens when, against all attempts otherwise, people insist on talking to her and hanging around her, forcing her out of her bubble of isolation.

At her core, she's trying to be a good person. But the tough, gruff exterior she hold masks as trouble and guilt-ridden heart over what she had aided and contributed to in her time with the Brotherhood, and the fervent hope to make amends. And with it, the hope that she might someday find a true and real family...

Biography: When Rogue, born Anna Marie, was five years old, her parents disappeared without a trace. The young girl was given to her aunt to be raised, and thus started a shaky and rough early life for the girl. The woman, in her grief at the loss of her sister, was a strict and authoritarian guardian. Anna Marie was a rebellious child, constantly running away from home to escape, and earned a nickname "Rogue" in the process.

When she was fourteen, Rogue grew close to a boy named Cody Robbins. Flirting at a football game, Rogue impulsively kissed Cody, at which point her latent mutant power to absorb the life energy and psyche of others with skin-to-skin contact emerged. Cody was left in a coma, brain dead, and the town turned upon the girl. Hating her, swept up in the anti-mutant sentiment in the country, they would likely have lynched the young girl if she had not run away from home again...and this time for good. Traumatized by the experience, she started wearing heavy and covering clothing to protect everyone around her from her uncontrollable power.

By pure chance, not long after she ran from home, stuck in a boxcar on a freight train fleeing across the country, the young girl met Mystique. The mutant took the young girl in, practically adopting her as her own, seeing another mutant harmed by the savages that were humanity.  In time Mystique turned Rogue's loneliness, envy, bitterness, and despair into anger, thus recruiting her into the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Following Magneto and buying fully into his rhetoric, the impressionable young girl became a loyal pawn in his games. She was trained and honed by those in the Brotherhood, becoming as a little sister to some and tool by others, as her powers were used to further the cause. Multiple times, she would clash with the X-Men and forces of the government. For five years, she did this, her name growing infamous...Until one day, she watched someone get in the way of the Brotherhood. Collateral damage, she reached out to try and save them, forgetting her glove had been ripped off. Touching the dying person, she stole the rest of their life--and their memories.

She was the Brotherhood and their actions through the eyes of someone normal. Innocent, who had little more opinion on the matter than doing whatever they needed to get on with their own life. A woman just trying to raise her children, until she was in the wrong place, at the wrong time...The experience shook her, the world view of the dead mother, her kids laid out beside her, striking painfully against what she knew from following Magneto. Shaken, she left the Brotherhood, and went to the one person she thought might be able to get true answers from.

Needless to say, the X-Men did not appreciate her arrival. But Charles Xavier bid them give her a chance...

Rogue managed to slowly earn the trust of those around her though, small and large gestures. She eventually even befriended Wolverine...and his brutal death at the hands of Sabertooth was her final breaking point, the savagery of her former comrade beyond any capacity for her to rationalize, especially in the face of Wolverine's attempts to defend his friends and family from his enemies. She was too slow to help him...But that day she swore to oppose the Brotherhood, her family, unable to forgive their increasingly brutal methods. She's been at the school for three years now.

To that end, she still acts as a Brotherhood apologist. She agrees with Magneto's arguments, even if his methods have fallen out of her favor. Mutantkind is suffering unfairly at the hands of the government, and something needs to change. Their rights need protected--but by inciting more violence and hatred, the Brotherhood isn't helping anything.

Meanwhile she hates the government, refusing to accept the notion they are afraid acting on impulse. Defending most of the country at the cost of a minority is not governing, and she quickly uses Magneto's own arguments, referencing Nazi Germany and other such examples. A regime change, she says, is needed--the government created by privileged white men centuries ago is too old and corrupt to deal with the changing of times.

    Superpowers & Equipment

    Class: Gamma

    Power Name:

    • Power Absorption: Rogue can absorb the powers, energies, memories, knowledge, talents, personality and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of another person through physical contact of her skin with the skin of the other person. She is not limited to absorbing mutant powers: for example, she has absorbed the strength, agility, and sharp reflexes of an enhanced human. She can also absorb psionic abilities. In absorbing another person's memories Rogue also gains the emotional responses connected to them (ie feeling the pain and trauma of absorbing memories of being tortured). She can possess the abilities and memories of multiple people at once, however such an overflow of personalities and memories can confuse and disorient her. And her power is potentially lethal--her first victim remained in a coma for ten years, before ultimately dying when removed from life support.

This transfer is usually temporary, lasting for a period of time relative to how long contact is maintained (it currently seems she holds on to absorbed attributes for sixty time longer than the duration of contact), but the transfer may become permanent in certain cases (a fact currently unknown to her). Most often the process happens instantly when Rogue touches someone, but in certain instances where a being has possessed an extraordinary level of power they are able to resist her, and she may only share part of their memories and power. But the process remains excruciatingly painful for the person being drained.

    Equipment Name: N/A

    Flaws and Weaknesses

    Weaknesses:

    • Psychic Imprinting: Every time she absorbs someone, a little piece of their personality lingers with her, perhaps forever changing the way she thinks. Worse, Rogue might not even realize that she is changing over time.
    • Only Human: Unless she's absorbed someone stronger and more durable than herself, she is still only human, and can be hurt as easily as anyone else.
    • Physical Touch: Her power, while potentially devastating to anyone she touches, requires skin-to-skin contact. As such, if she can't touch them, she can't drain them.

    Flaws:

    • Isolated: Coupled with the way she was raised, and the way that Rogue's power keeps her separate from everyone, Rogue tends to feel a bit isolated, even while surrounded by people. She can never touch someone skin to skin--and never will again, in her mind, less she horribly hurt them.
    • Temper: Rogue's temper can sometimes cause her to act to extremes. Whether it be violence, or just kinda crazy behavior, Rogue's temper has left her making a fool of herself on more than one occasion.
    • Flirt: She's a sucker for dangerous men and women and she tends to flirt it up a little too much (one might say) when someone catches her eye. But she's well aware of her limitations--but a a drive for some kind of companionship only makes this worse for her. It's not uncommon for her to be called out as a tease for flirting but never letting someone truly in close.
    • Bitch: When her depression over her powers strikes particularly badly, she turns into a bitch. Snapping at anyone for just about anything, she tries to push people away (especially after drawing them in with flirting), creating a vicious cycle of isolation and loneliness.

    Other

There is still some WIP done, but this is the basics of her to see if I'm on the right track for approval. [/list]

QuoteHis ability also allowed him to affect his own capability to heal but this is rarely seen, he's also used his power to accelerate organic material on a few occasions either causing them to explode or enhancing their own physical capabilities.

That sentence contradicts this one. I'd remove the top one and keep the weakness.

    Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Power Weakness: He is unable to affect organic material.

Getting close to finishing the first draft for Chamber. I'll attempt to get him posted tomorrow before the Rumble starts... Today the horses got my attention along with nabbing tickets to Ghost, who just happen to be opening up for Iron Maiden!
