Awesomely (good) tear-jerker parts in movies, video games, etc.

I am talking about stuff that gets you teary-eyed, but in a happy way. Usually in romantic or otherwise beautifully sentimental moments.  I have some of these that just 'get me everytime' no matter how many times I have watched them before. Any of you got some of these?

One that comes to mind at the moment is Back to the Future's "Earth Angel"/First Kiss at the Dance scene. It's easily one of my favorite movies with it's fun and 80s camp. But this scene always has me emotionally 'buckle up', even with the funny way Micheal J. Fox just springs back up instantly for 'the big moment'. Just... goosebumps!

What snags me every time with this scene (aside from the beautiful score that creeps in and just 'booms' on the big kiss) are all of the little details that build the moment. Marty is able to play guitar until George is shoved out. ("Scram, McFly... I'm cutting in!") All of a sudden now, Marty struggles with notes... unable to follow the band at all. His existence is threatened, George and Lorraine's relationship is threatened to never happen.

The build up to the big moment of triumph is just beautiful and punctuated wonderfully. The music rouses the moment, Marvin's voice matches the occasion, putting more heart into this victory for the characters. It's just perfectly shot, perfectly executed. Just too awesome, and it gets me every time I see it.

By the way, these dont have to be from just movies, but I imagine those will be plucked from a lot. Games or other media that tells a story with a magical moment like this can easily make it here, too.  :-)

Edit: Tweaked the title to better suggest this.

Laughing Hyena

Leaves from the Vine. Gets me every time. Everything that Iroh does is summed up in just this one short story.

Twisted Crow

Final Fantasy VIII's ending. Just everything about it, really. But that "Eyes on Me" score just hits my soul with its dramatic timing. The feels!

Also looked that up, Hyena. I feel like I get where you are coming from! A bit sad, but powerful, bittersweet and heartfelt. Those were my thoughts checking that out, at least.  :-)

Azuresun

Toy Story: "This isn't flying. This is falling....with style!"

Doctor Stone has had quite a few of these. A story about a modern scientist re-awakening in a Stone Age future and bringing science back could easily have been a series of dry technical lectures, but the series cleverly ties it into powerful emotional moments that show how discoveries that we take for granted and consider unremarkable would have been near-miracles to people discovering them for the first time. There's too many for me to list all of them, and I don't want to spoil too much, but one standout was when Suika was able to see the world--and a field of sunflowers--clearly for the first time in her life, thanks to a simple pair of glasses that counteract her short-sightedness.

(Seriously, just check this series out!)

The ending of Kung Fu Panda 2. Yes, that's right, I got misty-eyed at a movie called Kung Fu Panda 2, aimed at people 25+ years younger than me. :-) From Po remembering his past onwards, up to this. The best endings are ones where all the themes and threads of the story so far--in this case, the comedy, the pathos, the awesome kung fu action, the theme of overcoming the past to find peace--come together without stepping on each other.

And in video games, Homeworld: "Nothing's left. Everything is gone. Kharak is burning."

And it takes some reflection, but the ending of Subnautica.

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
See, if you poke around a bit, get into the lore and read the environmental clues, it becomes apparent that the biome in which the game takes place is on the verge of extinction. Only the enzymes released by the captive (and very close to death) Sea Emperor are keeping the Kharaa plague from destroying everything, and as the alien defence systems bring ships crashing down, more and more of what remains is destroyed. And as far as you know at the time, this small pocket is all that remains of life on the planet. All this wondrous life will be gone before long.

And then you come along, cobble together increasingly sophisticated technology and find a way through to the alien containment facility that the architects built IN THE MIDDLE OF AN UNDERWATER VOLCANO, and find a way to hatch the infant Sea Emperors and release them back into the world to spread a permanent cure. The mother can finally relax her vigil, the plague is finally cured, and the world can finally begin to grow again. Oh, and you can escape. :-)

Last Chancer

There's a bit in, of all things, Dragon Ball Xenoforce 2 that makes me misty-eyed. It's a game where you play a time cop, and the part I'm thinking of is when the villains start interfering with Trunks' (your fellow time cop partner) personal timeline. You're sent in to correct things, but the specific point in time is so personal that Trunks goes in anyway.

There's quite a bit of backstory involved with Trunks and this part that I won't get into for brevity's sake, but on an emotional level it's probably the hardest thing that Trunks has ever had to do in his entire life, and your character still needs to hold him back a little to keep him from changing his past.

In a game where half the cast screams until their hair turns yellow and then the punching happens, an emotional moment is honestly a surprise and always gets me right in the gut.

Twisted Crow

Thane’s send off in Mass Effect 3 (assuming he survives ME2). That whole “He was praying for you.” moment hit me in the feels.

Lilias

The night flight scene in How to Train Your Dragon. The music blends in to create something beyond awesome.
To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.
To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

Scylla

Transistor.

Spoiler for Game
I cried at the end- and I never do.  The protagonist never speaks the whole game.  Only hums and such.  She is a singer and her manager / beloved is trapped in a ‘magical’ sword.  In the end, she kills herself with the sword, thus trapping her WITH him.  And you hear her say ‘Hi.’  F()cking year-jerking.

putrid

The moment in the move "Home" when Oh finally understands what art means.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
