Long Nights - Freeform Vampire Apocalyptic Sandbox Group - Open Recruitment

For those who feel like they might have missed a way to join with the game having already gotten started...

There is a new event going on in the group right now that's a great way for people who want to join and get started in the group.  It's a sort of trip of refugees, military, locals, and the like that are going into town for supplies.  It's a decent way to join in if you want to have your character run into them.

I'm interested - for a number of reasons.

1) Gnothi is the GM (and I've always wanted to be in one of her games).
2) A unique spin on the Apocalypse theme I'm always craving.
3) Group game setting with lots of talented writers!

So, with all that being said, I'm thinking of adding two characters into the mix - a guy and a girl. I just need to think about their background a bit. There is already a 'doctor' of sorts, correct?

Right now, the closest we have to the doctor role is Bekah Boo's Juliet, who is a practicing nurse. There is also a psychiatrist, but they're an NPC and haven't been used or brought out.  If you want to do a doctor character, I think it could work since there's always a need for medical professionals, but I'd check with her first to avoid stepping on any toes.

Just wanted to say, real quick, that there's still plenty of time to join in if you want to be a part of the group.

Many of our survivors just had their first real brush with the infected, and are moving back to the base of operations trying to process everything, and possibly start pointing fingers as to what went wrong.

There's definitely still a chance to jump on in.

Take a look at the Game Info and OOC when you get a chance.  The first couple posts of the OOC give a sort of rundown of what's been happening so far in-character, as well as an explanation on how the in-character threads are set up.

The next major part, and sort of end, to the Walmart event has been posted, to further increase the tension between the military and deputies.

I am going to hold off on posting more events for a few days, instead of getting another one going soon.  This is to let more people join up who are thinking about it, in addition to let people get caught up.

I'm not closing recruitment, it'll always be open, and I'm more than happy to help people get started with NPCs, as well as getting people caught up on what's been going on.

Question, how would my character get worked in? Should I assume she was there the whole time or will something else work up? I can totally go with either. :)

I currently have two ideas brewing, so I shall see what comes to a full concept.

I do believe that you can go on by assuming that your character was always in the group. As there are alot of people in the prison not just NPCs and player led characters.

Also, if you need help with connections for any of your characters you can poke me :)

As for your question...  It's honestly up to you.

I haven't closed off any of the events yet, so you could jump in and write in the sort of orientation event, though I'd probably recommend against it, since a lot of people have moved on.

You could have your character there the whole time if you want, just having been in the background so to speak.

Or, as many have, you could just be new to the group.

HannibalBarca has two characters that were wandering down a highway when I had one of the NPCs come and pick them up in a truck.  Mellific had one of her characters be picked up by a sheriff's deputy doing a random sweep of a neighborhood.  And DarkAngel111 and Mellific had characters just sort of walk up and join up with a group of people that were in an event in the surrounding areas.

I don't mind helping you, or anyone else out for that matter, with getting you started by directing NPCs and whatnot to get you to the group and going.

I'm going to drop a link here for anyone who might be interested in joining.

After listening to the feedback from others, getting their input and views on the state of the game, I've decided to launch this little event as a way to bring people together and bond a bit over some alcohol.

Pretty much it's a place where you can introduce your character, say hello, a couple of random facts, and sort of be a spark for some contact and bonding between characters.  I think it's a great way to introduce your character to the group, and a great way to strike up some friendship.

Kind of like an ice cream social, where everyone says two facts about themselves.  Just with some moonshine :)

And as always, I'm more than happy to get you filled in on what's been going on and get you started.  Just a PM away.
