Definitely still accepting characters.  I have no plans to close that anytime soon.  The Game Info link in the first post has a more detailed and complete listing of character sheets that are approved as well as pending face claims.

IC stuff hasn't started yet.  Might hold off until after the fourteenth, but am struggling against a muse that's raging to get started.

I don't believe anyone has claimed either of those character types.  If I forgot someone, there's always a need for more.

Also, I'm giving strong consideration, since we've had a lot of interest and character sheets, of opening up IC threads tomorrow/later today, Saturday the 11th.  Now, don't let this deter you from joining.  This is just to get things started, give people something to write, etc.  It'll start with buses of refugees rolling in from the military base they were once being held at, and being greeted by the residents who have already come to the jail facility.

There'll be plenty of time to jump in before things move on.  I have no plans to close recruitment, as it'll be easy for stragglers and newcomers to wander in as the story progresses.

Due to the rise in submitted sheets and interest, the In Character Threads are officially up and open.

History and Past
A thread to write scenes and interactions before the beginning of the outbreak.  Included in this thread is a guide to the refugee process, what one might have experienced, gone through, etc.  You don't have to follow this, but just wanted to put something up to clarify a few things and paint a general picture.

Surrounding Areas
Pretty self explanatory.  An IC thread for scenes taking place in the surrounding lands around the jail.

Clarence County Jail
This is self explanatory again.  Basically an IC thread that's for scenes taking place in the jail, as well as the immediate surrounding area within, say, a hundred feet or so.  A few things about this thread...

• I expect this to probably be the most active.  Decisions on breaking it down will come at a later date.
• The IC post between Captain Davis and Acting Sheriff Cassidy is not mandatory, but goes a ways in describing the road/journey to the jail, as well as what's going on at the jail when the buses arrive.  It's not a mandatory read, but helps to paint a picture.
• The first event is active.  It is optional, and is just a way to help bring people together, since this does seem to be a group of strangers to one another in terms of characters.

Also something else is coming at a later date.  Keeping my lips shut on that, and won't go into details, but...

NPC Database

In order to help further flesh out the world, and particularly to help set the stage, this group will utilize a general database of NPCs.

These NPCs are not full fledged characters.  As such, there is no set face claim for NPCs.  Anyone can create and submit an NPC by filling in a simple little sheet and submitting it to the GM for publication in this post.

Anyone can play an NPC, whether by creating post and writing as that character, or by using them in a post for a full fledged character.

NPCs can be changed into full characters by filling out a character sheet.

When creating an NPC, please use the sheetlet below.

I don't think I've addressed this here, but think I probably should...

A new IC thread has been opened called Down Time and Side Scenes.  This is primarily for scenes that aren't necessarily tied into events that are taking place (i.e. the breakfast that's currently going on, a planned raid, etc).  The building of relationships, side scenes, etc. take place in this thread.

The hope with this thread is to help put the focus more on action and the story, rather than being bogged and slowed as can be the case with a great many decent sized apocalyptic group.
