Quote from: xPeachyPuff on June 24, 2024, 03:18:16 PMIs there anyone who would like a connection to their characters made? I might go for Lady Tyrell instead of a Targaryen, but I thought I'd see if there was anyone who wanted an immediate female connection to their character first.
A Lady Tyrell would probably have connection to Alysse! She's House Florent, one of Tyrell's sworn houses. There's some resentment there on House Florent's end, who believe they should hold Hightower and the Tyrell's positions. If you want that drama, I could certainly NPC Lord Florent if no one takes him on. 😏

+1 here for my Arryn turned Dayne! Once I get more details out of the ol' brainpan and Primarch approves my sweet little innocent thang, I'll hit you up :3

Totoro

The Greyjoys have arrived to bring happiness to all!

Character: Ivarn Greyjoy
Title: Lord of the Iron Islands, Head of House Greyjoy, Lord Reaper of Pyke, Ivarn Half-Blind, Captain of The Sorrow and of the Fleet of the Iron Islands
House: Greyjoy
Faction: Undecided (Leaning Blackfyre)
Player: Totoro

Special skills
♜ Warrior- Like any good Lord Reaper, Ivarn is a deadly warrior who learned to fight from a young age. While far from a gifted duellist he could gut most knights with a well-used dagger.
♜ Sailor- Born of the sea, Ivarn has been sailing since childhood. In many ways he is more at home on a boat than on land and he is one of the finest captains in Westeros.
♜ Brutal- Ivarn does not care for mercy nor morals. He has no concern about paying the blood price to get his way.
♜ Cunning- Ivarn is sharp and calculating and tends to use his wits to their fullest.

Personality:
Ivarn is a single-minded man who consumes knowledge with a voracious appetite. He finds the mundanity of life painfully dull and so often is dour and serious in his demeanour. The only thing that typically sparks his attention is new learning to be had. He has to fake an interest in most social customs and often takes chances to prod at them and test other's commitment to their politeness and conformity out of his own boredom. Ivarn is emotionally restrained with it taking a great deal to provoke a real response from him but he holds on to grudges for a very long time.

The only traditions Ivarn cares for are those of the Ironborn, most particularly the worship of the drowned god. It is the fact his son's life was lost on land that causes him the most pain, although he did return his body to the ocean soon afterwards. Only the old gods garner any respect from Ivarn and he has little time for the customs of the mainland houses and enjoys disregarding them to see if they will have the gall to challenge him on it.

Despite typically being a measured and withdrawn figure Ivarn is prone to sudden and strong changes in mind and these can lead to showing a legendary temper that few would like to stand in the face of. Ivarn feels little for others, only caring for a small handful of people even if he does consider it his duty to take care of the Ironborn collectively. He is often detached from the more moral concerns of others, though of late he's rarely had reason to exercise his potential for violence.

History
In 146 AC a boy was born on the Iron Islands to Sterlan and Cira Greyjoy. He was the firstborn of the Lord of the Isles and destined to one day be their leader. The boy was a troubled youth, one who had to work to fit into the society that surrounded him. He drew his smile in the mirror and used it to fool them into thinking the things that brought them joy brought it to him just the same. All he felt was lost and confused. Why did he not see things the way those around him did? He did not know. In many ways, the child's oddities made him well-suited to the isles.

The icy cold of lashing rain and the painful cuts of sharp rocks bothered him not. He took his place on fishing ships sailing out into choppy waters without a shred of fear for the death that lurked in the depths. When learning to wield a sword he was headstrong in his raw determination, sparring until collapse day after day. Even when pushed to learn to read and to watch over his father's council and understand the runnings of the Isles he did not push back.

All-in-all through a prosperous youth Ivarn made for a promising heir to Sterlan. Growth brought him joy though he forever found himself yearning for more than he had, even if he did not know what that more might be. It was not simply land or gold, but something else. Knowledge and magic and darkness sang to him. Doing his part for the future of the Greyjoy line he took a wife and sired a son, working to instill in him the same lessons his father taught him. Ivarn struggled to truly love his lady Alerah but he held her close all the same and cared for in his own way.

As time went on the weather worsened. Ivarn would not part the ships and nor would his father. They were together when the storm god's wrath struck them as never before. It was a brutal night, men tumbling overboard as they fought to keep the fishing vessel sailing for their home. Eventually Ivarn and Sterlan Greyjoy tumbled over the edge of their ship arm-in-arm as he tried to save his father. Crashing into the waves, they fell below into darkness. Ivarn remembers trying to drag his father up, and the man refusing and pushing Ivarn away to save himself. Though hard, he resurfaced and managed to climb back aboard. While beneath the water Ivarn swore he saw something in the depths, a half-formed memory he now asserts was the Drowned God.

The man who was now Lord Reaper returned from his near-drowning and the loss of his father changed. Still typically the dour, stoic figure he had been before he was prone to sudden outbursts and swings in temperament. Some called him mad. Most days he made for a good lord, fair if harsh at times, but his tempers were a thing to behold. Most notably many whispered that he must be mad as he began throwing himself from the prow of his ship in the hopes of being granted more visions from the Drowned God.

Those visions came, though whether a gift from his god or a curse from his own mind none could say. Ivarn saw ironborn men drenched in gore yet surrounded by gold and saw himself amid a trove of ancient knowledge. Only bloodshed would grant them their destiny. He began to ready ships, swords and men and told the people that the Drowned God commanded him to prepare for a violent future. Despite this, the Iron Throne remained strong and it was no time to fight with the crown and so, despite making ready, Ivarn had no war to wage.

☁ Madman- The Lord Reaper hurls himself from his ship. He says the Drowned God speaks to him. He's readying for a war that doesn't exist.
☁ Dark Rites- Ivarn has a fascination with magic and while not capable of performing it himself he seeks out witches and sorcerers anywhere he might find them.

#78
Character: Nisah Sand
Title: Spy Mistress
House: Martell
Faction: Loyalists (Dorne)
Player: Andronica

Special skills:

  • Herbalist - A far kinder term for the bedfellow of various flora, both benign and poisonous. Nisah believes there is no honour to be found in fighting among the houses when they all seek to win. So, she does not balk at the use of toxic plants and other such substances in order to loosen one's tongue or silence it forever.
  • Web-weaver - Nisah is an expert at collecting secrets. They are like trinkets to her. With the vast amount of information swirling in her head she can often, with great accuracy, predict the next steps of any number of nobles to a specific end. She anticipates their hubris to her advantage. In short, the spy mistress crafted herself a splendid web of favours and relationships, many of whom do not know they even have a place on her silk tapestry until she reveals her leverage
  • Line of Nymeria – Nymeria of old was a great leader who led the Rhoynar on a great odyssey from Essos to Dorne, marrying the Prince of House Martell who was of Andal stock and uniting her people with his, forming the populace of modern Dorne. The Princess of the Rhoynar was wise, cunning, and conscientious of her role and people, traits which have over time continued to manifest in her descendants many centuries after her life.

Personality:

  • Cunning - Nisah reads people quite well. There are certain minute details in the way people carry themselves or speak which she can glean a lot from. Despite the supposed drivel that may slip from her mouth at times, she knows when to keep quiet and wait for opportunities.
  • Resourceful - Aided by her brother's deep purse, Nisah can find a myriad of ways to accomplish tasks for both her ends and those of her brother's family - by extension, this is advantageous for the true born Targaryen King.
  • Eccentric - Loves to go around barefoot and is often bereft of good footwear by choice so she can 'sense the earth'. She must have her spiced wine warm. Explicitly bathes in goat milk with roses on the full moon when its rays are most revitalizing. aAlways avoids the threshold when stepping into a room. Often caught up talking to herself or otherwise speaking out loud her inner monologue. This and many other little inklings reveal her strange nature, which has done the opposite of hinder her popularity at the brothels and courts. She is a magnetic draw for those who enjoy unexpected things in life.

History:

  • Nisah Sand is the illegitimate daughter of the former Lord Martell, from a tryst to a Salty Dornishwoman named Sura. She was born around the same time as her half-brother Ronas. Despite her status as a bastard which would have put her far on the back foot in any other part of Westeros, such a mentality is seen as archaic and destructive in Dorne. Instead of shame, she was afforded a good childhood in Sunspear where she was raised by a handful of Lord Martell's paramours and maids.
  • As such, Nisah was exposed as a young woman to all manner of appetites in life. Primarily the carefree attitude towards sexuality and merrymaking. Eventually, this led Nisah to the local brothels where she would bide her time drinking spiced wine and simply observing. This. became a habit of hers for several years.
  • When Ronas became Lord Martell with a gilded throne, she had no jealousy in her heart for him. Nor does she possess any desire to become a Lady. Rather, his inclusivity of her in all courtly matters, and their closeness as siblings, led to her taking a place at his side. She considers his judgement to be sound and offered valuable advice for her brother by acting as his Spy Mistress. Her magnetic nature and eye for subtleties have made her into a veritable wed of information.

Relationships/Connections:

  • Ronas Martell - Her half-brother and reigning Lord of Sunspear. The pair have a good, symbiotic relationship in that she respects his authority and considers him a fair Lord. He, in turn, has always afforded her a place at court and to whisper in his ear.
  • Rhaella (Targaryen) Martell - Wife of Ronas and a wholly pleasant woman to be around, even if at times, Nisah's strangeness may be considered offensive or standoffish. She also likes to watch Rhaella with her birds. Additionally, since. Rhaella's most recent miscarriage, Nisah has been brewing her herbal concoctions to soothe her body back to health. Nisah uses Rhaella's gatherings to distribute moon tea to her ladies.
  • Rohar Martell - Heir to the line and her adorable nephew. Nisah dotes on him privately as she doesn't outwardly show too much affection.

Secrets/Gossip/Notes:

  • Keeps pins in her hair.
  • In the brothel the Gilded Pearl, she learned from some of her father's paramours how to dance. Elaborate manoeuvres with silk were the most popular.
  • Loves cats.
  • She enjoys adorning herself in golden circlets, bangles, and precious stones to accompany airy dresses.

#79
Character: Lyra Stark
Title: Lady Stark, or 'She-Wolf' when Theo has had enough of her
House: Stark
Faction: Blackfyre Rebels
Player: Andronica

FC: Sai Bennett

Special skills:

  • Diplomacy - Lyra prides herself on being an exemplary host and peacemaker. She has knowledge of many traditions and treatises to enthral her brother's court. The Lady leans towards gilded words before the sword in all matters. However, should her sweetling tone abruptly change, one may have the misfortune of finding themselves on the receiving end of a biting tongue that is frightfully unnatural belonging to such a lovely woman as she.
  • Hardy Northerner- Due to the violent nature of their father's demise, she was pulled into male-centric spaces often by Theodred and learned to cut her teeth on the harshness of the world. She's a fair hand at nocking an arrow, reading the weather, and can handle a hard ride through the cold that would make many a seasoned rider lament their numb arses.
  • Wolfmother - The eldest Stark children found and claimed two dire wolf pups in the forest beyond Winterfell. The usually unpredictable beasts respond astutely to Lyra and have grown to become sleek, frightening creatures who act as an extension of the siblings. Blackwolf is an impressive size and looks capable enough to bodily take down a bear or draft horse with ease. Cressida, Lyra's dear wolf, is not so large as her littermate but her haunches reach to Lyra's hips, leaving her silky head perfectly at midline for petting. Lyra dotes on the wolves and Blackwolf is most responsive to her command to retrieve items - leaving all other hands, including Theodred's, forefeit should they try the same.

Personality:

  • Determined - Highly opinionated, and stalwart with a haughty mother-hen angle to it. When she sets herself to a task, or firmly believes she is in the right, Lyra doesn't shy away from any sort of obstacle... or person. She swallows her prey whole with all the resolve Theodred taught her.
  • Resilient - Much like the words of her house are a warning to all rather than a boast or threat, she is steadfast against the battering cold winds of life. Although certain sudden changes have pricked under her skin, such as marriage, her father's death, and the subsequent decline of her mother, she remains loyal to their family tenets and what she believes are choices in the best interest of the North.
  • Religious - Lyra holds to the worship of the Old Gods very seriously which is parly why she excels at playing hostess. She respects nature, and will typically visit the godswood at least thrice a week, more in trying times where she can be alone with Cressida her direwolf, while she ruminates on how to proceed. Lyra worships in her own private way by crafting garlands she anoints on the beams of the great hall every so often, also ensuring she keeps fresh ones going for her brother's room.

History:

  • Born in 175 AC to Lord Barthogan Stark and Lady Melaina Karstark. She is the only daughter among a pack of boys; the eldest being Theodred. She has two young brothers less than half her age, Arren and Kean, who she spent much time raising and roughhousing with. They were the last of Barthogan's issue before his death during the lengthy Skagosi rebellion.
  • After their father's death, head of House fell to Theodred. Their grieving mother retreated from court to care for her sons. When Barthogan's body could not be returned it sent their mother into a downward spiral -  his sword was recovered from the battlefield, however, as their only reminder of him. With Melaina unable to carew for her children, that duty fell to Lyra. She is fiercely protective of her two young brothers out of love, and now necessity.
  • Lyra also stepped in to assist her brother in taking up the fur mantle of the Stark name. From their Maseter she kept a good recording of politics and histories that have been a boon to Theodred's rule after so much time away from home.
  • Despite her support, Lyra was taken aback when Theo brought a very important decision to her, one which he didn't consult on her with: marriage. To his longtime friend Jaehaerys Blackfyre. While she has previous acquaintanceship with Jaehaerys, she was not particularly smitten with the idea of becoming a broodmare and let Theo know as much.

Relationships/Connections:

  • Cressida - Her she-direwolf, the absolute moon of her eye.
  • Lord Theodred Stark - Theo is her elder brother by four year but sometimes Lyra is convinced she is the elder of the pair. He taught her many practical things in the North (much to their father's occasional chagrin) to survive the bitter cold where the Starks remain vigilant to defend against the Wildlings and Skagosi. However, her ken for courtly matters and worldly wisdom have assisted with Theo's heavy shoulders. She adores him, even if he does purposefully lose her in the forest simply to sneak up and frighten her.
  • Alaric Blackwood - Known most of her life due to the frequent intermarriages between Starks and Blackwoods.
  • Jaehaerys Blackfyre - Betrothed of Lyra and longtime friend of Theo. She is... not very pleased at being newly wed but does understand the benefit it has for her house, and Jaehaerys' legitimacy. Despite her hesitation because she loves another, Lyra trusts her brother's word that Jaehaerys is an honourable man who will treat her well.
  • Gwynnon Darklyn - Lyra has a motherly doting nature and that extends even to Gwyn. Though not siblings by blood, she encouraged his outings with herself and Theo, to roughhouse and ride as all the Starks do. But in private chambers she also sees the conflict in Gwyn. She is perhaps one person who Gwyn can be themself around, truly.
  • Lady Lysandra Mormont - Having known Lysandra all her life, Lyra immensely respects that she is the female head of her House and indeed carries herself with the strength and presence of ten Lords. She is easily Lyra's best friend and confidante.
  • Lord Vernan Bolton - First cousin on her mother's side. The two get along well despite Lyra's unease at his family practices. Funnily enough, whenever Vernan comes to Winterfell, the direwolf Cressida follows him around incessantly for reasons Lyra cannot even guess at. Often the big wolf can be found at Venan's side, nosing his hand, or even with her head in his lap.
  • Lady Alysse Stark (nee Florent) - TBD

Secrets/Gossip/Notes:

  • Rumoured to sleep with Cressida in her bed, which is entirely true. There are, however, far wilder claims that Theo and Lyra feeds those who displease them to their dire-wolves and that is staunchly untrue. Still, many a lordling have shat their trousers when faced with the wolves as fierce as the siblings.
  • Loves to play with hair! Braiding, plaiting, brushing and adorning it.

Karma

Character: Gwynnon Darklyn
Title: Heir to Duskendale
House: Darklyn
Faction: Rebel… silently
Player: Karma

Special skills
  • Stealth - Gwyn’s small stature and androgynity allow him to move quietly, be ignored, and greatly change his appearance for a desired goal. He takes interest in secret passages, roads less traveled, and anyone speaking who doesn’t notice him.
  • Weaponized Naivete - Being young and looking kind has its advantages. Gwyn has a way of getting people to speak their minds and share details, due to a mix of either looking trustworthy or looking like he wouldn’t understand anyway. This affect can also lead certain types to come recklessly to his defense.
  • Knives and Bows - Arms and armor were never to be Gwyn’s realm, given his build. Even so, one must learn to protect oneself, and while he prefers to avoid violence completely at any opportunity, Gwyn has become familiar with knives and where to stick them, as well as being deadly accurate with a shortbow. However, thus far, his effectiveness in battle is merely theory, having only used these skills in practice and hunting.

Personality:
  • The unlikely heir - Gwyn never expected to inherit even minor property; he lived his youth freely, fully expecting to either be used as a marriage chip or sent to the Watch. His command of court niceties is dreadfully underdeveloped and exertions of power give him anxiety.
  • Affable - Gwyn is full of smiles and laughs under most circumstances, to an extent some consider feminine. It has won him many friends, but also causes others to not take him seriously, which was an advantage as a free-thinking foster, but may be a disadvantage as a fledgling Lord.
  • Cerebral - A book is never more than an arm’s reach away from Gwyn at any time. He reads and reads, and is quietly one of the best cyvasse players in Westeros.

History:
  • Gwynnon is the youngest child of an immensely productive Lord Darklyn. He has so many siblings that he could never be expected to inherit his father’s seat, nor would his father insult a vassal by giving their seat to Gwyn. Compounding this lack of opportunity, Gwyn was a sickly youth, causing stunted growth and late puberty, leaving him willowy and small in a family of huge, bear-like men. Often confused for a girl as a child, even as a young adult he is still confused for his sisters.
  • Without access to expected political resources and possessing none of his family’s biological resources either, Gwyn was often left alone and forgotten about. He learned to amuse himself with exploration of the mind and of his surroundings; he often impressed his family’s maester with his historical knowledge, and was also known to simply appear in rooms with no one having seen him enter.
  • Viewing him as an expendable nuisance, Lord Darklyn sent Gwyn to Winterfell to be fostered, calling in an old favor. Expecting to continue to be ignored, Gwyn was shocked by how immediately Theodred Stark took him in as a friend and compatriot. Gwyn did his best to keep up, learning to fight and ride and hunt and drink as much as his statue would allow. Theo made sure he was never left behind.
  • Over a few short years, a confluence of virulent illness, a suspicious fire in the Dun Fort, and a sparring accident left Gwyn without older brothers. After much debate with fellow lords and his maester, the ailing Lord Darklyn recalled Gwyn to formally establish him as heir to Duskendale. It was known by all, but not said, that Darklyn would have preferred any of Gwyn’s sisters to him.

Relationships/Connections:
  • Theodred Stark - Theo taught Gwyn that kindness and friendship existed in the world. Gwyn would follow him in any pursuit.
  • Lyra Stark - TBD

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Those few of keener eye have observed Gwyn in romantic contact with both men and women. His feminine aspects do him no favors at court.
  • Personal loyalties would lead Gwyn to declare for Blackfyre once his father passes - however, Duskendale is a breath away from King's Landing, and would be in grave danger if such a declaration was made without outside support.

Primarch

Character: Maron Uller
Title: Lord of Hellholt
House: Uller
Faction: Loyalist
Player: Primarch

Special skills
  • Commander: Maron rose to prominence during the 'Conquest of Dorne,' by then he was a young knight but by the end of the first year he had become the Commander of the Dornish rebellion that eventually saw tens of thousands of Iron Throne soldiers dead and Dorne free. The conflict marked Maron as one of the finest military minds of Westeros and while there have been no conflicts since there is no doubt Maron Uller is as sharp as ever.
  • Skilled Warrior: While most prominent as a military leader Maron is a skilled warrior. In his younger years he displayed significant proficiency with sword, spear, lance and bow. That being said even at his best he was considered skilled but his name was never among the great duelists of the day, and by his own admission aged has dulled his reflexes. That being said he remains hale and strong.
  • Horse Breeder: Maron Uller is a famed trainer and breeder of Sand Steeds. It is something of his passtime. A gifted steed from Maron Uller is considered a great gift, though he is notorious about refusing to lend the use or sell one of his prized studs.

Personality:
  • Pragmatic: When the armies of the Iron Throne marched on Sunspear, forced the noble Lords of Dorne to bend the knee and then left, Maron Uller looked out at his dead country men and asked them for the value of honour, when no answer came he decided honour does not win wars. Then he won a war his way. He does not care to see the world as it should be, or Septons tell him it could be. He see's it as it is and makes the decisions that will solve problems.
  • Patient: 'Knowledge and patience, the only counter to greater skill' Maron has always been patient and age has only provided him with greater patience. While this certainly applies to matters of military it is true of life in general. He has never felt the need for everything to be immediate. Sometimes the best of life is enjoyed slowly.
  • Grandfatherly: Maron has many sons and they will all say he was a difficult father but for his grandchildren he is a very different figure. One of his favourite games is to slip a candy into their pocket when they aren't paying attention, and he loves to tell them stories or to teach them to ride.

History:
  • As a young boy Maron went through all of the usual steps of a highborn youth. He was fostered as a boy, learned to be a knight, was tutored, played pranks and so on, so on. It was not only he was a boy of twenty that the Iron Throne invaded Dorne and his life changed. He was a young man by the time it started, already married and ready to start a family. Within a year of the fighting the Iron Thrones soldiers marched on Sunspear and during the fighting Maron's first wife and child were killed when a damaged roof fell in on them. Like many others he was forced to bend the knee and watch as King Daeron claimed his hostages.
  • Hostages or no Dorne would not submit. While most of the nobility was forced to behave due to the hostages the commonfolk rebelled. Maron conspired with Lord Qorgyle to assassinate Lord Lyonel Tyrell who the crown had left to control Dorne and once that was done it was effectively war again.
  • Fighting resumed in full and Maron was appointed command of the Dornish host. By this time he knew confronting the Iron Throne in the open field was of limited value and so he did what was best with war in Dorne. He vanished into the hills and the cave networks, striking at night and melting away. By the time true battle was engaged the enemy was so frazzled by expected terror attacks in the night they were fatigued and paranoid. In one instance he sent not an army of men but an army of whores. The soldiers of the Iron Throne so desperately missed the love of their wives and sisters they eagerly embraced the guests and by the hour of the bat they were so lost to lust they did not see the creeping swords in the dark.
  • While King Daeron eventually returned to Dorne and scored several victories the overall death toll for the Iron Throne was estimated by some to be as high as sixty-thousand and it was eventually time to sue for peace. In a final act of vengeance however Maron and others arranged to assassinate King Daeron during peacetalks. Three other knights of the Kingsguard were killed and the Dragon Knight was captured. As the historians tell it King Baelor walked barefoot into Dorne, escorting the Dornish hostages and retrieved the Dragonknight though only after receiving many snakebites in the process that left him unable to make the full journey back to the capital for half a year. At this point King Baelor & the Prince of Dorne arranged fresh peace, which started with the marriage of the Westerosi Prince and the Princess of Dorne, with another marriage planned for many years later, this being the eventual marriage of Prince Ronas to Princess Rhaella.
  • With the war over the somewhat freshly minted Lord Uller returned to Hellholt after years of fighting to begin putting his life back together. Over the last 35 years he has married and buried two wives, become a father to twelve children, taken to the breeding and training of horses and at least once made the journey to King's Landing.
  • Now in the year 196 Maron plans to take his fourth wife and may journey with the young Prince Ronas to King's Landing, even if the food is bland and the weather worse. Plus there's the people.

Relationships/Connections:
  • T
  • B
  • D

Secrets/Gossip:
  • It is said Maron did not spill tears for any of his wives when he was told of their passing. Only that he took a short period of time of personal solitude before resuming his duties as a Lord.
  • It is well known that Maron has many children and he was a difficult father yet now the adults compete for his favour. His daughters dote on him with affection and his sons try bring tourney glory to the House. Some claim however he intentionally sets his children against each other so only the strongest and most cunning will stand by his side. The Night's Watch and Faith of the Seven need many, but Lord Uller needs but one heir.
  • There's something about his Sand Steeds and wives that's obviously not true. Seven preserve us from sweaty handed bards.

BennyQ

Character: Ser Aydin Manderly.
Title: Ser / Knight of the Kingsguard.
House: Manderly.
Faction: Loyalist.
Player: BennyQ.

Special skills
  • Jouster – Ser Aydin has long been a fan of tournaments from a young age, with a distinguished history of participation in them. At fourteen, he was involved in squire melees, winning his first a year later. By sixteen, he was competing in jousts directly, though he did not succeed or win until he was twenty-four, unseating all challengers at an annual tourney hosted in the Riverlands. He has won three in total, though the last was ten years prior to the present date. He is a tremendous supporter of the sport, keeping track of all the big and little names involved, as well as following the tourney circuit as it moves around Westeros.
  • Observant – As a Kingsguard, Ser Aydin is used to being a wallflower, watching and observing the mingling of crowds and people in the Red Keep. He has a keen eye for detecting hidden weapons or dangers to his liege lords, while keeping full awareness and diligent adherence to his role during his long patrol and guard duties around the castle.
  • Second Skin – Ser Aydin has been a knight for almost a quarter-century, entirely at ease and comfort in even the most heaviest of armours. He is so accustomed to it’s weight that it hardly effects his stamina or endurance, except in the most arduous and severe of trials, such as a full scale battle.

Personality:
  • Northerner – Born to House Manderly of White Harbour, Ser Aydin shares many traits with Northerners, if not their religion. He can be very quick to anger, manifesting most in physical violence, and he is slow to forgive or forget a transgression.
  • Lustful – His early victories in tourneys was quite an introduction to the feminine attentions that such a status could bring. And Ser Aydin has always liked that attention. Even being appointed to the Kingsguard has not slowed him down, breaking his oath of celibacy quite often to enjoy the pleasures of the capital and wherever else his duties might send him, in Westeros or Essos.
  • Honourable – At least where fighting is concerned. All duels, fights, combats, jousts should be conducted fairly, between the competitors only, with no foul tricks or tactics like poisoning, magic, or numerical advantages.

History:
  • Aydin was born in 159AC to Lord Dyron Manderly and Lady Kehlsie Royce of the Vale. The third son of four children, Aydin’s prospects were moot outside of a career as a Septon, Maester, the Wall, or Knighthood. The bloody spectacle that are tourney melees in the North soon caught his attentions, enthralled by the danger and the praise and esteem each winner got. He spent hours as a child memorizing long lists of melee victors in the North, with their epic or humorous epitaphs, dreaming up what his might be one day.
  • He finally managed to gain his father’s approval and blessing to be taken on by a squire by a Vale knight who was traveling through White Harbour at the time. Under Ser Bailin Coldwater, Aydin traveled all over Westeros, from the Neck to the Dornish marshes, watching and learning from Ser Bailin as he participated and fought in the tourney circuit, moving from one castle to the next as new tournaments were hosted and then ended. He won his first squire’s melee, an event often disregarded and held on the fringes of a joust at a tourney in the Reach. He suffered many injuries, though none ever grievous, and continued to learn from these scars and wounds as he traveled, now knighted himself by Ser Bailin at the age of eighteen.
  • It would be many years before Ser Aydin achieved success in he lists, eventually coming to the attentions of King Aegon IV during the last years of his reign in the early 180s AC, where Ser Aydin won a royal tournament held near Summerhall. As a reward Ser Aydin was granted any boon he might want from the King, whether it be a favorable marriage, lands, or wealth. Ser Aydin instead requested to be given a spot in the Kingsguard, one of seven knights who’s duty it was to protect the King and his family. Ser Aydin felt it was the highest honour any knight could achieve and would secure the legacy he always dreamed about as a child.
  • He was not at all troubled by the oaths a Kingsguard had to make, as he was not in line for any title or land. And in regards to marriage, he was not keen on being tied down with one woman, having enjoyed the attentions of several over the course of his career as a squire and young knight. In his early twenties, as a Kingsguard now, he had no intentions of stopping, indeed seeing King Aegon IV’s own prolific manner as an example to follow, not something to be avoided. He does however understand the gravity of his position and practices extreme discretion when out on his galivanting.
  • For two decades, Ser Aydin has served with distinction and loyalty as a Kingsguard at court, but the actions of King Aegon IV legitimizing many of his bastards soon turned his mood sour, as he correctly predicted how this might tear the realm apart. He was still a Knight, despite his sin of lust, and he still had a duty to the common people who would suffer under any sort of conflict, as many did in the previous civil war waged by Targaryens. The new King has done little to impress upon Ser Aydin why he should be worthy of his loyalty thus far, having invited a bunch of foreign Dornishmen into the capital and giving them positions at court, thus allowing the knight’s bitterness and disillusionment to grow and swell, potentially becoming a viper within the Red Keep, rather than someone who ought to keep them out.

Relationships/Connections:
    TBD

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Prolific – Ser Aydin has left behind him a trail of bastards, from the North all the way to the Dornish frontier. He is not aware of their existence, as none of the mothers have attempted to contact him, most being peasant or commoner women with no means to chase him down. Others might have heard though and it could be a stain put upon his personal honour as a warrior.

BennyQ

Character: Ronas Nymeros Martell.
Title: Prince of Dorne.
House: Nymeros Martell.
Faction: Loyalist.
Player: BennyQ.

Special skills
  • Prince of Dorne – As the Ruling Prince of Dorne, Ronas can call upon the assets and aid of all the vassals under his rule, able to command large forces on land and to bring significant resources to bear for whatever project or concern might trouble the Prince’s mind and councils. A robust economy of exotic fruits, spices, and Dornish wine fills the coffers of the Kingdom, allowing the Prince to fund armies and mercenaries or utilize this wealth for influence or espionage abroad. As the foremost lord and noble of Dorne, he has received training from some of the best warriors in Dorne and even abroad, learning  a basic proficiency in a number of weapons, specifically the spear and scimitar.
  • Eidetic Memory – Ronas possesses a highly accurate memory, allowing him to recall even the most smallest and fringe details with amazing precision. This is great for remembering facts presented in written format. While his recall is greater than the average, it is not perfect and can occasionally lead to discrepancies as is common with the dubious nature of memories and consciousness. This has given him an advanced skill in governance, in regards to complex matters like farming, taxation, trade, engineering, or construction, able to maintain a smooth flow of logistics and supply to whatever project may have caught his attentions.

Personality:
  • Pragmatist. – Ronas follows a “reason before honour” philosophy, knowing that pride or excessive emotion in a ruler such as him can lead to deadly or fatal consequences, not only for himself but for the smallfolk under his rule, to whom he has a duty. He is calculating with his actions and never likes to rush into any agreement without heavy deliberation and thought, by himself or with council.
  • Intelligent – Ronas is well read and versed in a variety of topics, from matters of rule and authority to art and sciences. He takes the time to analyze and strategize the various approaches to a problem and rarely rushes headlong into a problem without taking the time to ponder all it’s facet. This can lead to a measure of delay in some cases, but the caution and practicality of his solutions are often more longer lasting.
  • Sharp-Tongued – Being a man with many responsibilities and not enough hours in the day, Ronas can often be short-tempered and easily annoyed, which results in not very kind verbal rebukes and lashings to those who might have inconvenienced him in some way. He can be very severe and critical of those he deems lacking in certain qualities or respect. Outside of work and duty however he is quite approachable and sociable, being fast to laugh as quick as he might be fast to critique.

History:
  • Ronas Nymeros Martell was born in 168AC to his father, Prince Rolyn Nymeros Martell, and mother, Lady Jeyna Qorgyle. He had two younger brothers who did not survive beyond childhood, leaving Ronas to reach manhood as practically an only child. He received the typical upbringing of a noble of Westeros, learning from his Maesters how to read and write, while receiving weapons training by his father’s Master-At-Arms, becoming proficient with the curved sword and spear as is the typical fighting style in Dorne. Despite his budding skill, it was also impressed upon him that as Prince of Dorne, his primary role is not to be on the battlefield but at the helm of his Kingdom, guiding all the land through peace time and war, leaving the fighting to those who dedicate their everyday life to the art.
  • As a young man, he went with his mother to tour the various Free Cities of Esso, learning much about the culture and the way of the world. Upon his return, he went to Hellholt to further his studies under Lord Uller, learning how to manage the economy and stewardship of the Realm, as well as leadership of soldiers in combat. He learned many ideas and concepts in which to apply across his own realm. He learned to speak many languages and became a man of the world after visiting a few of the brothels they had there and in other places.
  • A series of afflictions soon came upon his father, necessitating Ronas’ return home, where he discovered his father was engaging in a series of diplomatic overtures with the Iron Throne, an attempt to end several decades of endemic warfare with the Seven Kingdoms, the latest of which had seen Dorne briefly occupied by invading armies, which were soon repulsed and driven out after much devastation. These negotiations eventually led to the Dornish kingdom finally bending the knee to the ruling Targaryens, in exchange for various privileges and concessions, some of which are not enjoyed even by the other seven kingdoms and their paramount Houses. In exchange for traveling to King’s Landing with his father to bend the knee, it was promised that Ronas would receive a Targaryen bride to consolidate the new alliance.
  • However, the marriage was delayed with the passing of Prince Rolyn in in 190AC, with Ronas ascending to the Princedom at age twenty-two. His mother soon returned to her ancestral seat and home, finding Sunspear to be too depressive after losing her husband of many decades, leaving Ronas to shape his court as he wished without oversight or management from others. In 192AC, his bride, Princess Rhaella Targaryen, arrived in Sunspear to complete the arrangement and she and Ronas were wedded that year, soon blessed by the birth of a son and heir, Prince Rohar Nymeros Martell. Unfortunately, further efforts to conceive have been met with tragedy as the Princess Rhaella soon suffered back to back miscarriages.
  • In 196AC, Ronas looks to return to King’s Landing to further take control of some of the concessions gained by his late father’s negotiations with the Iron Throne, some of which include court positions for his fellow Dornish lords while also looking to gain a Small Council seat or two to continue the spread of Dornish influences.

Relationships/Connections:
  • Princess Rhaella Targaryen – His wife of four years. They have one son already, Prince Rohar Nymeros Martell, conceived on their wedding night and born under a year after their marriage. He has gifted her many things, from silks and Dornish dresses, to birds and horses, and being mindful of her absence from her own home, has even ordered the construction of a complex of water gardens and private palace near Sunspear for her use.
  • Nisah Sand - His bastard half-sister, though despite her status she has been given a place and privilege at the court of Sunspear. Ronas has a distinct respect for her skillset, providing her a home and means to practice her work, while in turn receiving the fruits of her labours in the form of whispers.

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Dornish love to fight and fuck, fuck and fight. Nobody can look at the Prince of Dorne, the epitome of what it means to be Dornish, and think that man doesn’t have a significant body count on both matters. It is the way and privilege for young lords with ample coin to spread a few wild oats around, is it not?
  • Some might think increasing Dornish influence at court is not genuinely being appreciated by the Dornish as a means of building new partnerships and alliances with the Seven Kingdoms, but their attempt to undermine the internal cohesion of a Realm they had been at war with on and off for centuries. Fighting one or two smaller kingdoms instead of all Seven Kingdoms combined would be very advantageous for the Dornish.

BennyQ

Character: Vernan Bolton.
Title: Lord of the Dreadfort.
House: Bolton.
Faction: Blackfyre.
Player: BennyQ.

Special skills
  • Bane of Wildlings – Vernan lives by a philosophy that idleness creates weakness. How can one be ready for the wolves when they live amongst puppies? Vernan has been trained with a variety of weapons and seeks all and every opportunity to put it to the test. He makes it an annual sport to go north towards the Wall, to purposely hunt or repel Wildling raiders to test himself in the most severe of combats. When there are no Wildlings however, sometimes the occasional peasant or serf might suffice for a good hunt. With a fighting, running chance of course. It wouldn’t be fair, or educational, otherwise.
  • Flayer – The ancient tradition of the Red Kings of the Dreadfort, continued still by the current day Boltons, Vernan got his first taste under the purview of his willful father as a youngster, skinning animals at first, then on fresh cadavers, and finally living prey. They say a naked man has few secrets but a flayed man has none. And in Vernan’s experience, this has been true. He understands though this is not acceptable by the wider Westerosi standards so he does not boast of it, but the icy aura of death still follows him everywhere. And cats. Cats know when a predator like Vernan comes through, they follow, for there is bound to be collateral for them to pick up after such a dealer in death goes by.
  • Warrior – Years of seeking challenges and combats with available foes has made Vernan into a hardened warrior, bearing scars both physical and mentally. His primary weapon of choice is the longsword, while also being experienced in fighting on foot and by horseback. Also a duelist, whenever possible, Vernan will tell his guards and retainers to hold back while he deals with combatants directly. He has also participated in several melee tourneys as are hosted in the north, very bloody affairs, in some of which he has garnered success and triumphs, whereas others have left him bloody and bruised, but emerging from either victories or losses with a new heart and new lessons learned about his strengths and weaknesses.

Personality:
  • Reserved – Purposefully going out and seeking challenges of survival and endurance have given Vernan extraordinarily strong mental guards. Unlike most Northerners, who are slow of mind and quick to anger, Vernan retains an ability to keep his thoughts cool and his focus directed, not letting emotion rule him but rather the other way around.
  • Cruel – Life is hard in the North and only the strong and the able can survive through Winter without help or aid. Fate has snatched Vernan’s father, mother, and siblings away in various tragedies, further deepening his emotional unavailability. Vernan has come to assume the whole world follows this “kill or be killed” mentality and if one isn’t the biggest predator in the room, they are bound to become prey. And if there is a bigger predator in the room? Best try and make oneself symbiotic to their plans.
  • Oath-Keeper – Oaths are held in very high regard and importance in the North and Vernan adheres to such principles, in that he will always keep a promise or follow an oath to it’s utmost conclusion. He does not make them lightly, nor does he like being put in a position where he has to give a guarantee. This can at times make him very aloof and non-committal. But on the other hand, if he can be compelled to make a promise, it is a surety he will keep it to the end.

History:
  • Vernan Bolton was born in 166AC, to Lord Rayden Bolton and Lady Aymee Karstark (who’s mother was a Stark, so through his maternal grandmother, Vernan has one-quarter Stark blood). He was the oldest of three children, having a younger brother and younger sister. He received a thorough education as is common amongst the Northern lords, which is more hands-on than most other places. He was taught to read and write and was instilled to talk proper Westorsi, with formalities and decorum, as poor language is a token of low and commoner blood, as his father used to say.
  • Vernan’s mother died during his youth, when her boat upturned in the Weeping Water, the cold river that runs near the Dreadfort. Though rescued from the waters, she later succumbed to hypothermia that night, with Vernan witnessing the slow passing. It left a considerable mark on his impressionable mind that the North, and the world, was not a hospitable place. And kindness and compassion, as his mother espoused, would not succor oneself from these dangers. Only a like-mind and close heartedness like the world around was the only deliverance from such a fate.
  • Under the full tutelage of his proud and overbearing father, Vernan’s education undertook drastic changes, as the circle around him came under the full dominion of Lord Rayden Bolton’s will. Vernan was taught to use the sword, spear, and bow, became very skilled with knives, and was instilled with an “eye-for-an-eye” mentality. Cruel perhaps, but Lord Rayden had another son and could afford to be hard on his eldest, to mold him into what the North needed him to be. Vernan survived those first deadly years under a stern and unrelenting father, but in the course of his education his other siblings were neglected, leading to find his younger brother Travan passing due to sickness, aggravated by his father’s mistrust of Maesters after Lady Aymee’s situation had been bungled.
  • It came to pass one year when Lord Rayden, aging and growing less robust in his advancing age, was thrown from his horse and suffered a bad fall in the woods, when traveling with his son along the boundaries of their fief. Had Vernan raced to return his father to help and aid, he might have been saved. But recalling the very same lessons Rayden had taught him about not relying on aide or others, Vernan stood by and watched…as his father passed away in slow agony and death. No one questioned the whys or hows when Vernan returned with his father’s body on the rear of his horse, giving a brief explanation of the accident. From that time onwards, Vernan ruled as Lord of the Dreadfort and head of House Bolton, working to make it the foremost vassal and banner of the North.
  • Outside of Winterfell, Lord Vernan Bolton commands the largest force in the north, with a disciplined shield wall, trained archers, and a strong force of cavalry. He also commands a strong naval watch and along with the Karstarks, has personally launched punitive raids against the Isle of Skagos in retribution for cannibal assaults on the North, which is where he earned several of his facial scars, learning the hard lesson that while the Isle may be overwhelmed, it could not be truly conquered. He has also enthusiastically volunteered to lead expeditions northwards to assist the Night’s Watch whenever Wildlings break through to raid the northerly houses and lands.
  • In 194AC, while travelling in the north close to the Last Hearth, Vernan came upon a maiden in the wilds, who turned out to be a daughter of House Umber, Lady Sanira. There was an instant spark of attraction and the two lay with one another many times that season, though soon their illicit tryst was discovered by her relatives, in whose land Vernan was travelling with few guards and men, and they impressed upon him that he must honour Sanira with marriage or face their wrath for disrespecting the virtue of their House. Vernan…agreed, and with good measure, as their coupling soon produced a child, Lady Vivienne Bolton, soon after the marriage in 195AC.

Relationships/Connections:
  • Lady Sanira Umber - His wife of present, he met her while ranging far in the north, near the Last Hearth, in search of Wildlings and other raiders. The two had a spark of attraction that was purely physical at first, though it was discovered by her relatives and the two were compelled to wed. They have a daughter, Vivienne Bolton, who is currently the heiress to the Dreadfort until a son should be born to Vernan. Despite being his wife, she is still a total stranger to him and he is learning new and surprising things about her almost daily.
  • Lord Theodred Stark – Vernan’s present day liege lord, prior to Theodred’s ascension, Vernan had served for many years under his father, Lord Barthogan Stark. When the Skagosi rose up in rebellion, Vernan went with the expedition to repel the invaders, serving alongside the younger Theodred Stark on the campaign and in battle. Through their sister Karstark mothers, Vernan and Theodred are first cousins with one another.
  • Lady Lyra Stark – The sister of the Lord of Winterfell, Vernan knows of her by sight and repute, having attended many official functions in the North where he has had a passing greeting and interaction with her. Through their sister Karstark mothers, Vernan and Lyra are first cousins with one another.

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Flayer – While suspected, and indeed true, Vernan has taken great pains not to let it be seen by anyone outside his land or House. It is also rumoured, as a loyalty test, that those that serve under him not only swear their fealty oaths, but demonstrate their pledge by flaying bits of their finger to him. This could be considered illicit blood magic and ritual, something that is looked down upon in Westorsi society.
  • Terrible Poet – Need more be said? He’s terrible at it, but does it out of some longing for his mother’s memory, but knows people would mock and laugh if they ever read one.
  • Illicit Affair - His child, Lady Vivienne, was born five or six months after Vernan and Sanira’s marriage. Anyone can do the math and see there was something untoward doing on prior. Another facet of this is that the formidable Lord Bolton was successfully intimidated by House Umber and compelled to marry Sanira Umber, something he will be loathe to admit ever happened.

Sirian Eve

#87
Character: The Great Bastard Seastar
Title: Lady Isylas (ice-ill-less) Seastar,
House: Blackfyre
Faction: Rebel
Player: Sirian Eve

Special skills
  • Herbalist: To put it simply Isylas was trained in the art of potion making. Making poisons undetectable is her study. There is one particular poison cultivated among her people called the tears of Lys. It is deadly and very hard to trace.
  • Dragon Glass candles: This ancient art was taught to her at a young age. Dragon glass candles can be used in divination. Sorcerers would use it to extend their sight beyond the horizon. She often uses it in her meditation practices.
  • Blood magic: Though she has not mastered it as well as the blood mages, she has proven to be very skillful when her pet cat died, she used blood magic to bring it back to life, unfortunately it died days later. Since then she has studied ways to use blood magic in various ways to reach her personal goals.

Personality:
  • Idealistic: She can be a bit naive when it comes to thinking even the forces of nature can be cheated. All blood mages know that blood magic comes with a sacrifice. Isylas thinks as long as it’s equal in value death doesn’t have to be the only sacrifice made. That attitude can get her into trouble. She believes in creating her own rules as she sees it as “the best way forward.”
  • Independence: She takes after her Lysene roots when it comes to her independence and taking care of her own destiny.
  • Worldly: Isylas always cultivated knowledge of other places, people, languages and culture. She finds it fascinating which is why she has always be curious, even if her curiosity is troublesome

History:
  • The Great Bastard of Lysene/Valaryian heritage: She was born to a Lysene noblewoman of Valyrian stock in 174 AC. Her mother was a student of many things most well bred women in Westeros would clutch their pearls at. She was born into mixed cultures and the free atmosphere allowed her to develop her tastes in art, culture, commerce and mysticism. Her mother was rumored to be a well known courtesan from Lys who seduced the King, but that was supposedly a rumor started at court. Truth be told he summoned her mother to court and took her as a mistress. Her mother was well known for her seductive ways and exotic features and dabbling in the dark arts as well.
  • When her mother died giving birth to who would have been her younger brother, if the infant had not passed, she was summoned back to Lys by her aunts and uncles at the age of 8. One of her aunts was actually a practitioner of the dark arts, she worshiped the Lord of Light and paid reverence to the old gods. Under her care Isylas was taught the same. She became a student of mysticism, but kept it discreet. When she wasn’t training in arts and culture, one could find her out by the sea watching the sailors dock. She has a great love for the sea.
  • She had the fortune of growing up in a place where news could pass swiftly from ear to ear. Since Aegon IV passed, there had been rumors brewing of war, talks of rebellion. The trade routes were used for such communications, even among the free cities. In years her mother’s house had grown fortunate with trade. Her uncles were seamen and would bring back treasures to amplify the support of their house. It seemed as if they were always preparing for something. Her family is a large exporter of perfumery, a trade Iyslas had grown fond of. Her perfumes had grown in popularity among not only the free cities but in various parts of the known world.

Relationships/Connections: TBD
  • Jaehaerys Blackfyre: She first met Jaehearys as a child when her family was living in Westeros. She supports her brother’s claim to his inheritance and birthright.

Secrets/Gossip:
  • She’s developed an immunity to the Tears of Lys due to microdosing on it for years.
  • She practices dark magic, especially necromancy and has been known to bathe in the blood of her enemies to maintain her power, whether that is true has yet to be told.
  • Isylas has a beautiful singing voice and can enchant men with it. The siren song is what it’s rumored to be called. In Lys, it is known as the song of the sea.

Appearance: Isylas has silver hair curly hair and hazel eyes with speckles of amethyst in them.

CURRENT STATUS: Unavailable

Miss Nyx

#88
Character: Viserys and Visenya Targaryen
Title: Prince Viserys Targaryen, Hand of the King, Viserys Lightfoot, the White Knight of King's Landing.
Princess Visenya Targaryen, the Silver-tongued Dragon, Visenya Frostborn, the White Rose of Dragonstone.
House: Targaryen.
Faction: Loyalists.
Player: Miss Nyx

Special skills:
  • Valyrian Magic: It is said that the twins hold resistance to heat and flame as many trueborn Targaryens do, and are comfortable exposed to great warmth and high temperatures.
  • Peculiar Bond: Born soon after Visenya, rare is the time Viserys cannot be found in her presence. Even more curious, when he is not, it is said that Viserys can steal glimpses of the world from his sister's eyes, and she from his. He and Visenya are bound together by birth and fate and it is rumored that they also share dreams and knowledge, tethered together as one soul split between two bodies.
Viserys:
  • Ambidextrous, Impressive Reflexes: Pivotal key points of Viserys' existence as a knight rely on the fact that he is slight of build and disturbingly quick on his feet... and that he can wield a blade with either hand. While he favors the left and is in fact naturally left handed having been forced to train and study beneath right-handed men have lent him a rarely seen talent among many knights. Viserys will switch his sword and shield which often times gives him an advantage against his foes, who are not at all accustom to fighting left-handed swordsmen. While he remains ever more talented with a bow and has little physical strength to brag of, Viserys preys upon most fighter's difficulty in sorting out his fighting style when he attacks from a reverse position than they are accustom to engaging.

Visenya:
  • Silver-tongued: Visenya is said to have a voice like song, silky and wispy in a way that makes it difficult to ignore her. Pair it with her talent for observing and gathering rumors and whispers? Visenya is a master at speechcraft. She seems to know just what to say to bring people into her web, to entice them and make them feel comfort by her presence. Just as well, her words can become deadly and piercing, and leave lasting effect in such a way that her insults and the insecurities she can dig into leave wounds upon the mind and spirit that fester and ache, like poison beneath the flesh.

Personality:
Viserys: A kind and gentle nature envelops Viserys, and he is revered as a man of beauty through to his core. He is generous, intelligent and worldly. He will sit and speak with the small folk and enjoys having their favor; there is no denying Viserys is well received among the people of King's Landing. A sharp contrast to how he behaves in public however would make Viserys airy and careless of the political working, with an appetite for attention and glory, though no true desire to hold power. He enjoys the titles and the renowned but he does not wish to work for it and would instead prefer to do as he pleases at all times. Rumors that he is a man with a sharp temper behind closed doors and a lustful nature are kept well under wraps... it would not do for a Targaryen trueborn Prince to have such an unflattering reputation sullying his father's good name and esteem.

Visenya: A queer and unusual sort, Visenya seems uncomfortable in the company of her peers and would instead prefer to sit on her own some place in peace and silence. She is a worldly woman but only by the graces that have been allowed to her at her twin brother's side--she is a keeper of knowledge and covets those who have sharp minds and secrets to share with her. Her time is often spent in travel of the realms attending the Ladies of their allies if she is not in travel with Viserys, otherwise she fears she may have gone mad from the tedious and boring existence expected of all high born women, embroidering and darning with nothing but the sounds of the sea to keep her company holed up in the Red Keep. Visenya is known for a capricious nature and unlike her brother, she wears her temper on her sleeve. She enjoys her position of authority and will be sharp to bring about pain and misery upon those who displease her. She has a highly sadistic nature, and it can be questioned whether Visenya had the capacity for affection toward anyone who is not her twin brother... and even then, her love of Viserys is second to her own personal agendas.

History:
  • Born to Baelon II Targaryen, the youngest brother of Aegon IV, the twins are the eldest of Baelon’s issue. Visenya is older than Viserys by nearly ten minutes, and they were born the final snow of spring of 175 AC, on Dragonstone. Their mother passed five short years later due to complications bringing her final child into the world and Baelon, having little interest in rearing his young while grieving the death of his true love Maegella Velaryon, would have his youth reared by nurse maidens until their eighth name day at which point he and his brood relocated from their family's ancestral home to King's Landing to further their educations.

Viserys was an eager and studious youth who took much more interest in tagging along after his older cousins and half-cousins and the other Noble youth who fluctuated in visit to King’s Landing. He is said to have performed poorly as a squire, but excelled marvelously at archery and riding. Visenya was regarded as a queer and reclusive youth who found it difficult to connect with other children. Through her infancy she was noted as oddly quiet and pensive, a girl who neither cried nor smiled, and as she grew you a young woman she was marked for her exceptional beauty but cold and rather sadistic demeanor.

The twins were raised in earnest among their kin with Visenya often shirking her maiden duties to trail along after Viserys. Attempts to part the twins were often met with much scrutiny and aggression from either of them, as such, it was often excused that Visenya keep her twin's company and as first cousins of the Targaryen's sitting the throne the only word either of them would bother to heed would be that of Aegon, their uncle Aemon or their cousins in any case. As Viserys aged from boy to man it became glaringly obvious that he was not much the make of a warrior, as such his father Baelon employed all manner of fine tutors in order to bring the youth to par with those of his namesake. It is rumored greatly against Viserys' desires has he been forced into the position of a knight over existing in the realm as a Lord of leisure, and with rigorous aggression to make the boy into a man that would force a wedge between himself and the stoic and rigid Baelon, he made an acceptable name for himself as a tourney knight.

Relationships/Connections:
TBD.

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Viserys is said to be actively poisoning his father, Baelon Targaryen, and keeps him subdued as means of controlling him as punishment for forcing him to act as a Knight of the Realm. When Baelon Targaryen fell sickly shortly after the twins' eighteenth nameday, he came to their cousin the King and resigned of his position as Hand of the King with a strong recommendation that his son succeed him. Though Viserys has no such stable authority beyond his own intelligence and the bond of blood he shares with their King it was deemed acceptable, and he sits the Small Council as the King's young Hand at present.
  • It is rumored Viserys receives council from a trusted older ally in matters involving the Small Council, as such, the secrets and confidential information shared there are not kept strictly between those chosen by the King to have such knowledge. It is certain a liability if it is true.
  • Viserys is rumored not only for a lustful nature, but having sired many bastards whom were promptly disposed of. Such rumors extend that he is unusually fond of his twin sister, though these allegations are considered most offensive, and he has ordered prompt executions of those who would dare to utter such insult.
  • Visenya's handmaidens are rumored to act in part as her eyes and ears around the castle, and it is said she makes her friendships among those who whisper in the dark. Visenya Targaryen may hold the secrets of countless Lords hostage in hopes of staving off betrothal, and to the date, has pressured her brother to ward away any Lords hoping to draw themselves closer to Targaryen favor by having him dismiss betrothals presented to her.
  • A rumor surrounds her visitation of her cousin Rhaella Targaryen in Dorne that Visenya took up with a Dornish Knight and maintains a secretive romance between them, and that they meet at the Step Stones, though there is nothing to suggest such a union is true.

Bepi

Character: Sanira Bolton (née Umber)
Title: Lady of the Dreadfort
House: Bolton
Faction: Blackfyre
Player: Bepi

Special skills
  • Phytotoxicology:One of her most sought after hobbies, she has whatever she can get on the topic. She has a small indoor garden of various plants that she tends to very carefully and often relies on the House maester to bounce her findings and ideas off of. While not an expert, she can navigate many of these species of plants by sight alone. She keeps extensive notes and journals on the topics and is often updating them. They stay locked in the small closed off garden within the Dreadfort, with her holding a key on her person at all times. The House maester and her husband carry the only other two keys to that room that she knows of. Currently she is trying to extend her reach on this topic to some of the other provinces, using connections where she can to safely add them to her collection. In order to test some of the effects, she will often use the cats that follow her husband around, being sure to dispose of them afterwards as they seem to be a never ending source.
  • Archery:Being a woman in the North, she is granted some leeway with weapon use, but never found a taste for steel, rather focusing her attention on archery. She is practiced enough in bow and arrow to compete in competitions (placing mid to top tier) but does not hold the patience for hunting with them, particularly on horseback. That being referenced, however, she will always have one on her when riding out, for appearances sake. Her bow is light in pound and her arrows tend to favour crow and owl feathers.
  • Courtly Graces:Born as the only Umber female in the main and current line, she was given a proper education in courtly fineries and graces. This includes dancing, reading, writing and the ever important topic of conversation. She can navigate a full event with ease, usually leading the conversation as far as her Lord husband is concerned. She tends to favour a bolder approach versus playing coy and lilting. She does her best to keep up with politics and current events, but is aware that is not something a woman needs to know, particularly in the North.
  • Thick Skin:It is rumoured that women in the North have a thicker skin and being born an Umber puts her further North than most. She can handle harsh words and her own life experience has only hardened her to them. She also has a rather high pain tolerance, a youth of tramping through brambles and falling from horses giving her this small edge that would greatly benefit her in her adult, and married, life. This particular skill does not lend itself towards jealousy however, but she puts on a good show.

Personality:
  • Empathetic:While often linked to those who would use this to spread comfort and betterment, she instead will often use it to read a person’s particular temperament in the moment. This has come in handy on several occasions as she has a tendency to speak her mind if a particular chord is struck with her. Currently it is most useful for her Lord husband, doing what she can to guide him towards her. She hopes to help him with this little personality trait once they are closer, navigating functions and courts alike.
  • Cold: At her most base level, she can be quite uncaring if she has been slighted, though this has been slowly lending itself to her Lord husband as well. She does not tend to forget a snub and will often target that person until she sees them as rectified. She leans towards a ‘kill them with kindness’ approach only to make something of a public spectacle of them, while making it seem as if it is their fault. This particular personality trait also comes to hurt herself as she will often say harsh things in moments of passion (leaning fiery) with her Lord husband.
  • Liar:When you have nothing to offer, make yourself interesting. With that in mind, she will often sprinkle small half-truths and other lies in her stories. Whether this points to her enemies (real or imagined)is known to her. She enjoys a bit of chaos in her life and it is all the more fun if she is the one who is controlling it. Stories are written by the bold and no one has ever called Sanira shy before.
  • Charitable:Purely for appearances sake, she will often make donations to various orphanages or poor homes as needed. Let it not be said that the Bolton’s do not pay their dues. Reverence is also paid in the form of coin as needed. A bit of a marketing front to battle her Lord husband’s general quiet and less seen face.

History:
  • Born in 172 during a mild season, had a relatively easy birth considering. Is the middle child and only daughter of the House Umber main line (she has several female cousins)
  • Was given a proper education as she was to be essentially groomed for a big maneuver to secure alliances with her family.
  • Won her first archery tourney at age fifteen. An honest win and put her forward in the eyes of potential suitors, her Father and Uncle fielded these with care
  • Marriage seeking proved to take longer and by age twenty-two she was still unwed (due to being choosy on her part in the play of politics)
  • Talks came into play with House Blackwood (a shock to Sanira) between her and Alaric Blackwood to be wed in a years time, placing her far from home
  • On a lone ride on her lands she stumbled upon Lord Vernan Bolton, someone who she had only seen in passing before. They exchanged little words but instead lay together (partly in defiance of her betrothal), the continued meeting several more times with Sanira missing her monthly courses and not saying anything
  • Their last secret liaison was sloppy and led to them being found out by Sanira’s Father and brothers directly.
  • It was then that Sanira disclosed to her Father and Vernan that she was indeed pregnant and it was Bolton’s, he was then strong-armed into marriage with Sanira
  • With her engagement to Alaric Blackwood dissolved, she married Bolton at age twenty-three and gave birth to their daughter six months later (to some speculation from gossip-hounds)
  • With the growing turmoil, Sanira firmly backs Blackfyre though understands that she should keep her tongue out of that man's talk

Relationships/Connections:
  • Lord Vernan Bolton: Lord Husband and Father to her daughter (Vivienne Bolton) The two met quite by lust and an accidental pregnancy caused their somewhat forced marriage. She knows a male heir and a spare should be what is required, but she is finding she barely knows the man whose bed she fell into, making her expected wifely duties hard to come by.
  • OPEN
  • OPEN

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Illicit Affair (gossip)- Her daughter (Vivienne Bolton) was born six monthS after the official marriage to Vernan Bolton. This clearly marks her as tumbling with him before they were married before the Old Gods. It is thought that she did this intentionally, to force him into marriage as he would have been her choice. She has not voiced if this is true or not.
  • Addiction (secret)- During the birth of her daughter she was given light amounts of milk of the poppy to help ease her with the pain of childbirth. Even those small bits of the medicine affected her and once Vivienne was screaming into the night as she was born, Sanira accepted more and more of the milk. She developed an addiction to it and has since been weaned off, under the careful observation of the House maester. She will tend to hoard the tonic if she can, allowing herself small sips of it when she can.
  • Assumed Wandering Eye- Due to the openness of her courtly nature and the bolder stance she takes over shyness, it has been thought that she is fielding the courts for a lover or quiet liaison. She favours touch when she is talking to someone so a lingering hand on another's arm could set tongues wagging. She has no intention of such things, but merely sees it as part of her own little arsenal.

CyrodilicBrandy

#90
Character: Nellene Butterwell
Title: Lady Tully
House: Tully by marriage, Butterwell by birth
Faction: Personally undecided, her late husband leaned towards, but had not declared as, Loyalist
Player: CyrodilicBrandy

Special skills
  • Social butterfly - Nellene loves interacting with people, thriving and even glowing upon positive attention. Although not especially witty, her seemingly artless manner has, on occasion, allowed Nell to be brought into their confidence.
  • Some innate diplomacy - For much of her life, very little truly phased Nelle (her brother's birth and panic over the conception of her son aside) - when faced with argumentative or otherwise hot-tempered individuals, she's found that she can often soothe or cool such tempers, even as someone with minimal professional inter-personal politics training. She simply enjoys interacting with people and has made it part of her role as Lady Tully to communicate in ways that do not offend at all, or minimally.

Personality:
  • Due to her somewhat pampered upbringing, Nell finds pleasures in the little material things in life, and thrives under positive attention. For all that, she's not vain and especially materialistic - she merely enjoys what she can get when she can get it.
  • Although Nellene is not a lackwit by any means, she was never raised to have a formidable mind for political doings, whether that concerns intrigues, inter-house relations and the like. As a social butterfly with an apparent lack of guile, she's heard her fair share of gossip but never shared it on - who knows what secrets are held in her mind?

History:
  • Born to Landon Butterworth and Maryam Butterworth (née Darry) in 170 AC, Nellene's birth was not easy on her mother, for Nell found herself screaming and squalling in a carriage somewhere between Maidenpool and  Darry. Premature but not dangerously so, Nellene was naturally a small infant and didn't grow much as a child. Maryam and Landon were unable to have another child for many years, and so in the first few years of her life, Nell found herself quite cossetted, collecting treats and trinkets which were physical tokens of her parents' affections for her. When her younger brother Lennox, was born, a good deal of attention was switched to the Butterworth heir, something that took Nell quite some time to reconcile. It was not until Nelle turned thirteen and talks about her nuptial future were beginning did she let go of her sibling-related resentment to her six year old brother.
  • Nellene was lucky - she was betrothed once at fourteen, to her future husband Lord Edwin Tully, who was some thirty years her senior. He was not in the best of health, and not exactly handsome, but he was kind enough to Nell that she very quickly began to respect him and his steady nature, a perfect foil to her own extroversion. For his part, he put up with the young Lady Tully's respectable antics with the air of an indulgent uncle - although neither of them fell deeply in love with the other, they had a gentle affection for one another. Sadly, throughout their decade of marriage, only one son and heir was born - something that Edwin Tully ensured Nellene did not blame herself for. He was, after all, physically unwell at the best of times, and bedridden at the worst. Little Brynden Tully was, physically, a carbon copy of his mother, and Nell showers the young boy with affection daily, ignoring disapproval that she mothers the boy too much for him to grow into a man. In truth, Brynden is not Edwin's true son, but rather the natural son of a Frey lordling, and thus is actually Brynden Rivers. Nellene never told her husband the truth, apparently allowing him to be content with the idea that he was finally able to produce an heir - as to whether Edwin ever found out before his death, Nell does not know.
  • Almost a year ago, Edwin began to deteriorate, eventually not even able to physically use the chamber pot by himself. With Nell at his side at the beginning, eventually Edwin pushed her away as he crept ever closer to his death - his temper was no longer steady and indulgent, and he wished that she simply remember him as he was during their marriage, not as he was on his deathbed. As such, Nell was not with him when he eventually passed, leaving the twenty five year old Lady Tully and the almost five year old little Lord Tully behind. This leaves Riverrun in an interesting - some might say precarious - position, with the rumblings of dissent elsewhere in the Seven Kingdoms. Lady Tully, through her years in the role, has earned respect from those around her, but she has little to no experience actually wielding any real authority. She faces manipulation from those closest to her, well-meaning or otherwise, but above all, she feels a buried and unsettling fear for her son - should his paternity be uncovered, or even contested, the little lord's position could be tumbled entirely. Despite putting a brave fave on things through her period of mourning and transition, Nelle has come to the realisation that she will have to become proficient in all of the pressing matters of her role - immediately.

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Those who would believe Lady Tully to be greedy might readily believe that she 'helped' her husband pass on sooner than he might otherwise have done so. / Gossip
  • According to some voices, Nellene was quietly trying to push Lord Tully towards supporting the Rebellion - despite Lady Tully showing little aptitude in intrigues to date. / Gossip
  • Her son, Brynden Tully, is not her husband's true heir, but rather the bastard son of a Waldar Frey following a gathering in which Nellene allowed herself to be seduced by said Frey - although she did not complain too much. Only when she discovered she was possibly with child did she panic and resume relations with her husband who'd recently recovered from a spate of sickness. / Secret

Crane

Character: Alaric Blackwood
Title: Heir of Raventree Hall
House: Blackwook
Faction: Loyalists
Player: Crane
FC: Luke Pasquialino

Special skills:

  • Strategy and tactics: As the result of years of study, Alaric has a keen intellect to compensate for his mediocre talent with sword and lance. From a young age, his father saw value in an educated second son, whether to send him to the Citadel to become a Maester to avoid any conflict in succession, or to increase Alaric's own marriage prospects. As a young, Alaric devoured volumes concerning wars throughout the Riverlands, battles among the Aeries, resistance against the Ironborn, the conquests of Aegon the Dragon and Daeron's Conquest of Dorne. He is a keen player of wargames, one of the few places where he feels at peace testing himself.
  • Archery: Surprising none for a house centered about avians, the Blackwoods are avidd hunters and falconers. While Alaric has little skill with common warrior arms, he takes after his ancestor Alysanne Blackwood in using a bow. One of the few places Alaric and his father have been able to bond is during hunts.
  • Woodcarving: while hardly a craftsman, Alaric is a talented woodcarver and frequently carves figurines or mementos to express how he is feeling at any given time.

Personality:

  • withdrawn- Alaric is not said to be friendly and there are many who doubted his wits when he was young for his reserved personality. Alaric has difficulty socializing and expressing himself without a deep well of trust between him and others, as compared to some of his more outgoing and charming family members. Underneath this stoicism, you will find a man who is kind and decent, who truly feels for others and who will do anything for those he loves.
  • Honor- House Blackwood prizes its descent from the First Men and is one of the few Houses south of the Neck to honor the Old Gods. Alaric was instilled with a deep belief in honor and holding to one's word as their bond. Once he gives an oath, Alaric holds to it with a drive that is unshakeable. The Blackwoods are nothing without their integrity.
  • Anxiety- Alaric was never meant to be the heir of Raventree Hall. Thrust unexpectedly into the spotlight, he is aware that he is something of a laughingstock and considered a weak heir. His late brother Hoster was the heir every House could want, as opposed to bookish, weak Alaric. he is the heir of an ancient house and fears he will bring it to ruin with the paths he choose. For the sake of honor, he worries how he will be remembered by history and recorded by the Maesters.

History:

  • The second son of Lord Reynald Blackwood and his wife, Genna Blackwood. The Blackwoods had prospered through their loyalty to the Iron Throne and the favor of the Targaryens after King Aegon IV famously took a Blackwood as one of his favorite mistresses, with the Blackwoods still well loved at Court as a result. The House now claims further descent from the maternal line from the daughters of Cregan Stark and Alysanne "Black Aly" Blackwood. As First Men who worship the Old Gods, the Blackwoods had close ties to the Northern houses.
  • Alaric was the second son behind his elder brother Hoster. Hoster was everything a father could want in an heir. Strong, athletic, a warrior and rider and jouster. If the Blackwoods followed the tradition of knighthood, Hoster would have been a famed warrior through the Riverlands. Alaric loved his brother and harbored no higher ambition than to be the honorable right hand of Hoster.
  • It was at a tournament that everything would change. Lord Reynald had recently suffered a hunting accident that shattered his leg. Hoster sought to impress their father in the resulting tourney and bring joy to the despondent Lord Reynal, only to lose a tilt and be thrown from his saddle to land upon his head, a fatal accident. Overnight, Alaric became heir to the House, with his now crippled father foisting all expectations and responsibilties upon him
  • Reynald was not a cruel or uncaring man, and through skilled negotiation, he wasted little time in finding his son a potential match in Lay Lyra Stark. While hesitant, Alaric and Lyra shared a tender and warm relationship, with Alaric knowing true happiness for a time. But the betrothal was never formalized and Theodred made another match for Lyra to the rage of Reynald and the sorrow of Alaric.
  • A new match was proposed to Lady Sani of House Umber. Alaric is unable to defy his father and feels he must do what he must for honor and the name of the House, all while he knows he is mocked by the Riverlands and outside the Seven Kingdoms. Though he tries to dedicate himself to further training of arms, he is unable to advance beyond his skill level.
  • Reynald is ailing and infirm, forcing Alaric to take more responsibilities in Raventree Hall. He is dedicated to proving himself and achieving a name that will be etched into history, wash away his own shame and insecurities. If War comes, Alaric is ready to fight, even against those he loves and admires. His word is given and he will defend the Iron Throne. And perhaps prove his worth to himself.
Relationships/Connections:

  • Lady Lyra Stark - Alaric and Lyra were extremely close and she was one of the few people besides his late brother Hoster to ever bring him joy. Alaric loved her deeply and still does, though he is unable to muster the courage to contradict Reynald when his father talks coldly of her. Alaric knows Jaehaerys is all he is not: strong, brave, capable at arms, and privately wonders if the choice was not an accurate one. Even so, he still yearns to see Lyra again.
  • Lord Theodred Stark: As distant kin, the two spent time together in youth and Theodred recognized Alaric's worth. The two were close and feelings of kinship and warmth remain strong between them despite being on opposite sides.
  • Lady Sani Umber: Alaric's new fiancee. There are little emotions between them beyond duty, but Alaric has promised himself to try and love her. He will try very hard.

Secrets/Gossip:

  • Alaric is known to many, but loved by few. He is considered a pale replacement for his brother by Westeros at large. There are those who jest that when Reynald inevitably passes, his bones will need to do the ruling for
  • There are a number of mocking japes for his broken betrothal and more than a few cruel comments concerning his current betrothal to Lady Sani.
  • Alaric is a deep believer in the Old Gods, which does not help his popularity among the many others who support the Seven

ChaoticWake

Character: Lysandra Mormont
Title: Head of House Mormont
House: Mormont
Faction: Stark, and by proxy Blackfyre
Player: WLA

Special skills
  • Hand to Hand CombatLysandra was taught how to handle a blade as soon as she was able to stand on her own two feet. She has taken up the sword of her forefathers, Longclaw...a Valyrian Steel sword that has been in House Mormont's possession since its founding.
  • Archery - It was told to Lysandra long ago that bows and poisons were womens weapons. While never having gotten an eye for poisons, Lysandra still has a good eye for the long bow. She is able to unseat a knight at a half-mile out.
  • War and Seiges - Long has it been said that a single fighter from Bear Island is worth ten mainlanders. Lysandra has worked hard to make that so. It's hard enough being a woman in a mans world, but Northerners are no strangers to hardships. Lysandra hasn't ever lived through a seige, but she has studied all the great ones. She's also been fighting and leading men since she was 15.

Personality:
  • Blunt - Lysandra doesn't mince words, and she doesn't hide her feelings. You will know exactly what she thinks of a person or their motives as soon as she opens her mouth.
  • Honest - Being blunt means you can say what you mean and mean what you say. While Lysandra may not trust many mainlanders, those that she does trust have rightfully earned it.
  • Passionate - There are few people in the world with great drives. When Lysandra is set to something, she will move heaven and earth to make it so. Her passion is seen in her fighting prowess, her "diplomacy", and with those she loves.

History:
  • Lysandra is the daughter of Joren Mormont. She's worked hard to prove her worth as the firstborn child. While not a son, Mormont traditions have given much as much attention to women in combat as men. The women of Bear Island are expected to hold their own just as much as any man, especially since raids can come often from either Wildlings or pirates from the Iron Islands.
  • She grew up learning to fight. Joren never knew if he would ever have a son, so he made sure his only daughter know how to hand the business of running a Noble House.  With Joren's death, Lysandra has ascended to be the head of House Mormont. There is a chance that there is a Snow bastard from Joren's line, but to this day Lysandra is unaware of any.
  • During a hunting expedition, Joren was cut down by raiding Wildlings. The Wildlings were all eventually caught and put to the sword, however the mild bias she had towards the people north of the Wall has now flowered into an almost visceral hatred.
  • For centuries, House Mormont has only known one House to be of servitude to, and that has always been House Stark. With this history in mind, Lysandra continues to be a strong vassal to House Stark, and thus has thrown her support behind the Blackfyre claim.

Relationships/Connections:
  • Theodred Stark - TBD
  • Lyra Stark - TBD

Secrets/Gossip:
  • It's rumored that many paramours have come from southern Houses in order to court Lady Mormont. None have been accepted, and some say that Lysandra has even gelded the weaker southern boys for their arrogance.
  • Even though it was her fathers dying wish, word has it that Lysandra does not like the mantle of power. Leadership is a heavy mantle, and a few in opposition think she isn't strong enough to hold it up.
  • There are many times when the Ironborn come to reave on bear Island. Rumors fly that Lysandra herself has led the vanguard many times against them, fighting with the savagery of her sigil: The Grizzly.
  • Legends are that the Mormonts trace their line back to the First Men, and that they gained their sigil by eating raw bear meat and drinking bear blood in order to gain strength.

GnothiSeauton

#93
Character:  Aemon Rivers
Title:  Ser Aemon Rivers
House:  Bastard of House Targaryen, including additional loyalty to House Blackwood
Faction:  Targaryen/Loyalist
Player:  GnothiSeauton

Special skills
  • Warg:  Aemon is a warg, often favoring a raven he keeps at his side.  This is unknown to all around him, as such abilities often are more frightening and challenging to comprehend to many.
  • Skilled Archer:  Aemon is very adept with a bow, favoring one fashioned from a weirwood branch he made himself.  He has won many tournaments and archery contests with his skills and training.
  • Dark Sister:  Aemon wields one of the ancient Targaryen Valyrian steel swords Dark Sister, and as such is said to have a far superior blade than more.

Personality:
  • Aemon favors a mysterious air about him.  There are many rumors and gossips abound about him, and such whispers and tales are not easily dismissed by him.  Often he finds these legends and tales create an intimidating sense around him, and helps to gain what he wants and needs.
  • Family loyalty is extremely important, as is duty and honor to the realm.  Rather than give in to the Blackfyre sentiments shared by many of his bastard brothers, Aemon favors the Targaryen line and his bastardy.  To go further, Aemon has a deep love and affection for House Blackwood and the history from which he has from his mother’s side.
  • He is often not someone who is eager to throw himself into a fight.  Aemon is a strategist, cunning and clever as he tries to anticipate his opponents’ moves before they make them.

History:
  • Aemon Rivers was born a bastard to King Aegon IV and the king’s mistress, Alaena Blackwood.
  • His childhood was not easy with his half brothers and sisters, many of whom resented and made japes of him due to his appearance being extremely pale and affected easily by sunlight.  These treatments often drove him to make himself into a better and more adept individual, throwing himself into studies and training in the yard with sword and archery.
  • Though his mother was eventually dismissed for a younger, prettier woman, Aemon still remained at court, and was favored by the household servants and guards who held his mother in high regard.  It was this connection with the more common folk that Aemon developed a deep respect for them and the respect they showed to him.
  • When he was six and ten, Aemon set off to Oldtown and the Citadel where he initially sought to be a maester.  After six years, Aemon began to forge a chain of his own as an acolyte through his studies, albeit small, containing links for ravenry, history, astronomy, and medicine.  However, Aemon refused to take his vows.  The reasons why are a topic for gossip.
  • For a number of years Aemon has spent his time traversing the realm, visiting and learning of historical and significant places.  He has traveled from Dorne to the Wall and back again in his tour, but in recent years has begun to stay closer to King's Landing as plots and intrigues begin to swirl.

Relationships/Connections:
  • Work
  • In
  • Progress

Secrets/Gossip:
  • Some have whispered that Aemon possesses dark magic.  This is a rumor he does not deny or confirm, instead playing into it to keep people wondering.  He has often inked ancient runes upon his face to further play into the role.
  • There are many rumors as to what made Aemon forgo taking the oath of being a Maester.  Some say it is for sinister reasons, others to learn secrets in the Citadel.  Some have said that he failed the Obsidian Candle test required of all acolytes.  A few have said that it was for love.

Crane

Character: Lord Erik Dayne
Title: Lord Dayne, Sword of the Morning
House: Dayne
Faction: Loyalists
Player: Crane
FC: Richard Armitage

Special skills:

  • Swordplay and War- As a member of the famed Dayne family of the Dornish Marches, Erik received the training of Starfall's Master of Arms at an early age. An anointed knight after years as a squire, Erik trained rigorously to match the high expectations of the stories legacy extending back to the Dayne kings of old. After proving himself, Erik achieved the coveted title "Sword of the Morning," permitted to bear the ancestral Greatsword of House Dayne: Dawn. While still a skilled warrior, Erik hides his most recent wound and deteriorated stamina and skill, though he possesses a keen strategic mind after years of battle.
  • Study and adjudication - The Daynes were kings in days of old and Ser Davos Dayne was the third husband of none other than Princess Nymeriah herself who ruled as her final Prince Consort. Since then, the Daynes have prided themselves on knowledge and justice. As a young man, Erik was given education by his House. Well-versed in history and law, Erik attempts to be a wise adjudicator to those within the Dayne lands and a valuable support to both House Martell and the Iron Throne.
  • Poetry- In addition to martial tactics and legalities, Erik privately studied literature and poetry for one reason; he could tell his intended, the Lady Rowena adored it. While certainly no great singer, he enjoys any opportunity to make his wife smile with verses he composes about her.

Personality:

  • Kind- The Daynes have a history off being approachable and even humble for such an ancient and storied house. It is rumored that many Daynes are comfortable with smallfolk and spend time amongst them so to best understand their needs. While a stern man and warrior, Erik has a kind heart and is devoted to justice and prosperity for his land and people.
  • Stubborn- When Erik makes a decision, it is very difficult to sway him from it. When he sees a cause as just, it is a cause he will commit to wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, this can also amount to a course that is hazardous to his health if he deems it just or necessary. Only his wife can sway him. And even then, only so much. Erik can be impulsive and even hotheaded when given to a path he has dedicated himself to.
  • Self conscious- Erik is not the first Sword of the Morning. In fact, he is highly aware of the legacy in which he has inherited. Many men have borne Dawn and most have been forgotten by all but the most learned of Westeros. Many of his predecessors fought against the Targaryen Dynasty, while Erik is one of the first to inherit the blade after the unification of Dorne. He wonders if there are any great deeds to perform, or if he is meant to simply be a placeholder and fade from history, all while his skills steadily diminish.
  • Loyal: Erik finds it passing strange that but a generation prior, the Targaryens were his people's mortal foes. Nevertheless, he follows House Martell and has seen enough of combat to know that peace is far preferable. Whatever else, his family's marriage ties to House Targaryen ensures that Erik would give his life for the Iron Throne if need be.

History:

  • In 169AC Lord Davos Dayne and his wife Sylva Dayne (nee Yronwood) welcomed Erik into the world, the first son of five children. As the eldest son of House Dayne, Erik had a host of expectations placed upon him from the start. Brought up in the comforts of Starfall, he was trained by the Dayne Master of Arms and per Dornish tradition, was expected to be fostered in another house.
  • Because of Dorne's recent warmer relations with the the Iron Throne, many Dornish traveled to the other Kingdoms and particularly the Red Keep. Erik became a squire to Ser Quentyn Yronwood, who took him to the Red Keep where the two remained for a time. Yronwood encouraged Erik to engage in tourneys to prove his mettle, soon knighting the young Dayne.
  • A talented young warrior, Erik relished the chance to prove himself. Hearing of a tournament hosted by Lord Arryn, the Warden of the East, he traveled to the Vale of Arryn for the first time. It was there he would meet the Lady Rowena.
  • The two proved fond of one another, with Erik seeing that Rowena valued not just strength of arms and gallantry, but learning and culture as well. The two entered a warm courtship an Erik proved himself in the joust after asking for her favor. Soon after the tourney, Erik was insulted by a young warrior of House Corbray, prompting Erik to challenge the other knight to a duel. Erik challenged the other youth to a duel. Though triumphant, Rowena intervened and requested the young Corbray be spared. Erik overcame his temper and spared his opponent, proving to Lady Rowena that he was not just a strong and learned man, but one capable of mercy as well. The two entered a betrothal shortly after.
  • During the betrothal period, Erik assisted theVale's knights in battles against the mountain clans, fostering warn relations to other knights in the kingdom. He and Lady Rowena were soon wed at the Eyrie and set back for Starfall. The happiness was soon sullied when he learned his father had been killed in a battle off the coast of Dorne with a group of Lyseni and Myrish pirates. After a brief stay back in Starfall, Erik bid his new bride farewell and led an expedition to end any predations off the Dornish coast. For the task, he was gifted Dawn as the finest warrior of House Dayne.
  • Unfortunately, the battle that saw his triumph and being named Sword of the Morning led to Erik sustaining a wound from the Myrish captain in a final duel. Though his Maester healed him best he could, Erik finds it harder to wield a sword and using Dawn causes him great pain. He fears the day will come when he can no longer prove worthy of the title he bears.
Relationships/Connections:

  • Lady Rowena Dayne - His Rowe, his Star. Though newly wed, Erik is deeply in love with his beloved wife. Knowing Rowena would not be content with a man who only bore martial prowess to the marriage, Erik dedicated himself to learning and poetry, dedicating himself to being the best man he could. He is utterly dedicated to Rowena and would gladly lay down his life for her if need be. He has dedicated much to making Starfall feel like a home for her and knows she is a wise and capable Lady Dayne.
  • TBD

Secrets/Gossip:

  • A few months ago Erik suffered a wound at the hand of Essos pirates. This wound is not public knowledge.
  • Erik commissioned a custom sigil for Rowena: the Arryn family falcon soaring above a starry field. They keep it strung above their marriage bed.
  • The ironclad loyalty of the Daynes to the Iron Throne is the subject of some frustration in and out of Dorne. Many in the Seven Kingdoms have not forgotten the Dornish resistance that slew King Daeron I years ago. And many in Dorne have not forgotten the days when Dragons descended to burn Dorne in turn. Some wounds are slow to heal and taking a bride from the Vale of Arryn might be controversial for staunch Dornish nationalists.
