Only problem I possibly see is many people rushing to be Uchiha, but seems most folks have ideas of their own so that may not happen.
For me, the most interesting ninjas are Kakashi, Jiraiya and Shikamaru from the canon, because these ninjas either A) Are massively capable with little power but brilliant technique, or B) Are not Bijuu-strength, but are capable of taking one on simply because they have a variety of tricks up their sleeve.
I like the idea of a jack-of-all-trades, one who isn't overtly strong in any path, but has ability in all. Who can draw upon a variety of tools.
I think the bloodline thing is DEFINATELY something to think about, and also on the same theme -
Sasuke always banged on about "saving" his clan, but he always just goes about attacking people in order to do so.
In order to secure your bloodline, wouldn't you go about banging the shit out of everyone not related to you!? That's also something I wouldn't mind exploring.
Other vague ideas I had were based on the better parts of the canon-like those ninjas who have powers based on what ancient japanese ninjas were supposed to be able to do. I'd like to play with the "hiding-in-plain-sight" theme, and have some ninjas who are maybe incredible actors. This involves a variety of jutsu, voice projection, vocal-shocks, intimidation, summons (being able to summon one's greatest ever role) etc.
