*wonders where Glyph ran off to*

Offline kckolbe

I think I will pass.  Great game, though.

We haven't moved far my friend.  You can easily catch up.  Welcome back by the way buddy.

Offline CrazyIvan

so does your character still look horse like? If so Michelle would defiantly pick up on it and might talk to you.

Offline CrazyIvan

I think that was my last post of the night and i will be off to bed. Though before I do one quick think, Vergil. The thing about tech she never said she only thought that so unless you can read minds she said nothing about technology.

Oh crap, sorry sorry, but I didn't mean it like that.  I'll try to say that he was explaining that whole deal in case anyone was wondering and wanted to explain it before a thousand questions came up from everyone lol.  If that won't work I'll just delete the tech part.

Offline CrazyIvan

That is fine, I was just wondering if that was directed at the thought she had or something else.

Offline TheGlyphstone

Glyph is very confused at what is going on IC on the station still, and where he's supposed to make an entrance now - some interaction with station personnel for directions would be nice.

We're in Afterlife, trying to get everyone together Glyph.  A message was sent to any late arrivals to gather at the place, or at least if I didn't say so in the IC I planned to do so at any rate.  The message will include a map of the place but once we're all there, we'll head back to the docks and if you're riding on the Dauntless or just following the ship through FTL, it doesn't matter since the FTL route will be uploaded to everyone's onboard computers so your people's ships can follow in good faith...except perhaps Shakar lol.  Kidding Elfguy, but if it was up to John, he'd probably be sure to omit your gal from the same privileges lol.

Online elfguy

Shakar will probably ride with the others and let her own slaves pilot her ship. Anything to get a look at other races fire power ;)

Offline Idachan

Oh Elfguy, why do I get the distinct feeling that when we go Diablos Shakar will be sending a flood of messages home all saying "NO DEFENCES WHAT SO EVER!!!"

Yes Avelo still has the equine features and golden coloring. the things that have changed: he lost about 3 inches, lost the hooves gained feet, lost some muscle, but became more hansome as a result because it rounded off the edges. his lost muscle mass has caused him to compensate with a heavier combat training regimen, and practicing his so called "godly powers." *snicker*

and Elfguy... the idea of your race of master slavers running into the Aligari... it would give them a head trip. two races that control their lessers, one with threats, violence, and intimidation, the other with proppaganda, theology, and psychology.
though I wonder who has more control....
Avelo's people jump even before he says jump.
Diffrence is he actually cares for everyone under his command, as a so called demi-god the chain of command always stops at him, and he can't pass blame farther up the chain.

Did I miss telepathic or empathic on anyone's character sheet?

Offline PeacethatPowerbrings

I didn't really add it, but as long as telepathy is of the scientifically grounded variety, any Var would be able to pick it up like any number of other signals.

Offline CrazyIvan

that may be true, but you would not be able to pick up on everything. Though Michelle has a Crystal Net inside of her and allows her to talk and communicate with everyone in her empire, it does not show up on scanners or other systems that are not designed specifically for that. As the Crystal is alive and hides itself inside of her and the signal it sends out.

Offline PeacethatPowerbrings

Oh, sure the var couldn't pick up on a signal that they couldn't detect, but telepathy would be a less specific broadcast, more like a radio then a tight-beam. The Var use a hard-wired ansible system to communicate instantaneously which similarly, couldn't be intercepted without prior knowledge, so, if they had the time or opportunity to figure out the Crystal Net, they could pick up on that as well.

One aspect of the Var is their adaptability, once they know what they're looking for, their approach guarantees them a solution to any problem, given some time. So, I guess on that note, if I were the Atlanticans, I'd keep the Chrystal net very, very secret, as the Var do with their ansibles.

Offline TheGlyphstone

Okay, finally posted. Argh, so many walls of text to sort through...

Offline CrazyIvan

The Atlanticans are also very adaptable and the Crystal Net is not like a radio, which is good. It is focused and pinpoint mention you have to know exactly were it is to sense it. As well as they move the signal through holes in space to the other point. They open up inside of the crystal itself and open in another crystal at the other end, never leaving the body.

The Crystal Net is very secretive, though not by choice sometimes. The crystal's are more like living creatures that live in a symbiotic relationship with the atlanticans or other hosts. There is no way to study a dead crystal in a dead host as it will just turn to dust. The crystals are secretive, since the host is the only protection they have. Though they are not alive at the same time and can only truly be understood by being hooked up to the Net and having one in you. Which would then make you an Atlantican and not whatever you were a t one point.

I agree that you should also keep that secret as you can tell the Atlanticans are very curious, smart, and adaptable making it easy to get new techs and understand it. As like the Var they can all talk with one another and seek knowledge.

Offline Hunter

I'm gonna take that as a no.   ;D

Offline PeacethatPowerbrings

See, now you've just got me envisioning intergalactic war between two incredibly advanced technological empires.  ;D

Offline PeacethatPowerbrings

Also, that was a yes for the Var, given that they'd have encountered humans capable of it, and therefore, figured out the process for sending and recieving.

Offline CrazyIvan

The Atlanticans are not telepathic, though they do possess extremely strong mental defenses as they integrated into their genetics. They faced mind readers before and since then have tried to make it harder, though not impossible, to sense what an Atlantican is feeling or thinking. It also helps that the Crystal serves as a second hub for information and knowledge which is not a brain and one would have to be connected to it to understand it. It is like a computer in a way that has no internet access and is completely isolated to the user.

Offline CrazyIvan

Also a war between the Var and Atlanticans would be very interesting, though with how they are. I can envision them being good allies instead of enemies. They both seek knowledge and seem to be friendly.

Oh and one more note, sorry about the huge wall of text.

Hey Glyph, glad to have you back again lol.  Also, sorry I had to disappear again while everyone was working hard to get stuff up for this.  Anyway, I have a job interview Tuesday so I do not know what my hours might be if I get the job or anything, but I thought I'd let everyone know my posting might be a bit more sporadic than what it has been of late until I adjust, if I get the job of course lol.
