Great, I'll be working on one now than.  Fair warning, it's gonna be original, and not based off of a well established universe/race; but I'm not going to make it overly complicated.

I apologize for how long this is and how I think I overdid it, but hey I put in the effort might as well put it here.

Home Planet: Their old home, which they are now exiled from and have left, was Earth. Their new home and capital planet is now Altarain.

Tech Level: They in there own known galaxy are one of the most advanced alien species. Though they have not checked back on earth or their old home galaxy after they left it.

Technology:
FTL Communications by bending space around the target point and the starting point they are able to connect the two and communicate with them in real time, with no lag. The distance of this, so far under tests so far have no limit. The only draw back is that it requires more energy the further the target is and the more information you want to send. Though the energy it takes is so small that any ship can talk with another all the way across the galaxy. This is not limited by the gravity well of planets, suns, or black holes since the energy being transmitted is so small. Due to this the Atlantican Empire has spread through out its own galaxy and even begun to move to others, with no loss of communications. Though ships using it do give off faint energy readings so they are slightly detectable while using it. As well in case of emergency all ships carry an energy battery with a distress signal that goes out and tell all the ships in the fleet where the ship is and that it is in need of help
FTL Worm Drives They use the same principle that they use for their communication as they do to move their ships. The only difference is the scale and power used to move the ships is much more then that of a message. The scale difference is so large that they can not do it in a place were a large gravity well is so not directly next to a planet, sun, or black hole. They need a fairly flat piece of space, though not to flat it can be a bit bent already. The other restriction is the amount of power it takes to open a worm hole the size of the ship and then even more energy the further the target is. This means that most of the ships do a few smaller skips instead of one large one. This is because the more power the ship has to devote to the worm drive the less it has for shields and defense systems. Not to mention that this form of travel is instantaneous they enter the worm hole that they create by bending space and appear at the other side. There is a small lag in the jump in which half the ship is in one place and half is an another, but it is not to long. This drive is one of the reasons they have taken over their galaxy and can move around to others with ease. This also why their fleets are feared because they can seem to appear almost out of nowhere. Though they have one fatal flaw that to this day they can not fix, but merely hide. The drive requires a large ring like apparatus that is larger then the ship and serves as the gate that it must go through, damage or destroy that and until it is replaced the ship can not wrap, it can just travel at just below light speed. They now hide the ring in the ship, as opposed to before, where they left it out and in the open, partly because they didn't have the technology to hide it, but still it is exposed while preparing for warp, which is another reason for small jumps so that they have shields to protect the ring.
Worm and Refrac shielding Worm shielding relays on the same bending of space as there travel and communications relay on. It creates small openings in space to absorb the incoming projectile and either send it off into nowhere, or in a capital ship send the energy to the main cannon to power it and fire it. Though if it absorbs to much can overload and either two things will happen, they will vent it bringing down the shields and worm drive leaving only weapons or it will overload to the point it causes the core to explode, which is rare. For this reason they have built the refrac shield and heavy thick hulls. The refrac shield is a shielding that does not regenerate and when enough force is applied to it will break leaving the hull exposed and vulnerable to attacks. This shielding needs to be replaced once it breaks, though it generally last for the worm shielding to come back on line, not always though. Refrac works better against kinetic forces then energy forces though it still does the job.
Atlantican Capital Shipyards -  pride of the Atlantican fleet, though they are few, they are the most impressive space stations that the Atlanctican empire has ever built. They are slightly bigger then the Earth's moon and are giant space stations that build the large ships in the Atlantican fleet. The ships are more then 30,000 meters long and are the navy's flagships and the awe inspire might of there navy. They only have more then a handful of them since they are hard to maintain, expensive, requires constant remodeling, takes a long time to build, and has a lot of crew. But even with all of that they are still worth it and show the true force of their empire, most conflicts never see them used, they are mainly for home defense.
Terraforming, artificial planets, and sun longevity Terrafroming some planets is relatively straight forward and easy for the Atlanticans, because they are close in nature to that of there home planet. For these ones if the planet has nature lifeforms already on it they leave them completely alone and try not to damage the environment instead live in harmony with it. If however the planet was barren before they will go about the process of completely terraforming it a liveable planet. They know how to create an atmosphere, transport life, add water, and make a completely liveable planet out of almost any planet. This plus the fact that Atlanticans are hearty and can live in extreme conditions with high birth rates and low death rates makes them spread quickly. Artificial planets are fairly straight forward since they can create the capital shipyards. The planets are made in one of two ways with a synthetic core that they then take near by asteroids from an asteroids belt and make a planet. Though if there are no near by asteroids they just create a space station along the lines of a capital shipyard and use if as civilian structure instead of a military one. The Atlanticans also have a very useful technology which is to make stars last longer and set them back so it will take long for them to supernova. This requires researching each star and keeping track of what it is made out and everything about and then attempting to make core and package that will extend its life, sometimes it also means trying to extract from the core, but that is very dangerous. This doesn't always work and but it is always worth a try instead of letting a sun going supernova.
The Crystal Net This is one of the most import technologies that the Atlanticans have ever invented and use. It is used by ever Atlantican there not a single one that doesn't have one of these. The Crystal Net was designed during the exodus from Earth though it had its start long before that. This is a crystal that at first was put inside every Atlantican as a way of preserve there mind and energy, later on with training it has been known to increase life span. This is a net that connects every Atlantican to one another and keeps them in touch a species. Now they all retain there own individuality, but this allows them to talk to each other over great distances into another minds, share feelings, and even almost flash memories and research to someone. This was meant so that if someone died none of their knowledge would be lost it would all be stored in the main Crystal Net Storage which is located on the capital planet in the government building. The crystal is also very interesting in that it is slightly alive and now lives in a symbiotic relationship with the Atlanticans. To the point that all Atlanticans are now born with a crystal inside of them. The Atlanticans can also give this crystal to other species this allows them to integrate many different species and even allows for different species to breed with one another.
Energy Core The energy core is an almost limitless supply of energy though it can be overloaded and can catastrophically fail, though they try to vent long before that happens. The core is basically a mini sun at the heart of a ship or a power plant. Most of the shielding that is used in a ship is actually on it core to keep it from destroying the ship, to help vent, or when necessary worm drive the core to prevent the lose of the ship. The mini sun is exactly why it is nearly infinite power, especially when you add in the sun longevity technology.
Weapons The standard infantry weapon is that of the All Purpose Rifle or the APR for short. It is about 2 feet long and elliptical in shape and it is smooth with no openings or trigger when it is not in use. When one wants to use it one must connect to it using their Crystal Net this prevents other races from picking it up and shooting the owner with it, which has saved many lives. Once the person has activated they put there arm inside of it and only then will you find the trigger. Once the arm is in the user can tell the gun to morph it's shape into almost anything he needs rocket launcher, flamethrower, laser, sniper rifle, machine gun, and even blades. This is due to the nanomachinces located inside the rifle that can rearrange it to make what the user wants. Nanomachines is also how they overcame the different ammo needs. The ammo for the gun is a solid block of nanomachines that is about the size of a standard rubix cube. The nanomachines then take on the shape and power of the ammo that it needs to, though of course certain types of ammo use more nanomachines then others.
Ship weapons These are general energy weapons so they use the core energy instead of ammo, though they still use other weapons. Like with the APR the guns can switch there purpose so basically just increase the size of the rifle and ammo and you have the ship guns that are not the laser cannons. The laser cannons are also special by having the ability to aim after being shot allows all guns to fire in any directions with ease.
Armor Personal armor and ship armor use the same technology the only thing that changes is the size, density, weight, thickness, and what each one has to stand up to. They both rely on a weave of overlaying synthetic fibers that is layer upon one another in changing directions. The armor also can become rigid or soft depending on the electric current you run through it. Rigid to stop projectiles and soft to help break falls it all depends on what the user needs. Foot soldiers have no shielding accept for light refrac on top of the armor. They can not shrink the mini sun to personal size or the worm shielding either. Which is why they generally wear a lot of armor that is quite thick, as much as the person can use with out slowing them down and a lot of refrac shielding. On foot is also when they are most vulnerable, though they make up for it with more vehicles like tanks, mechs, and power armor so they don't have to be on foot much. Though they are more vulnerable on foot they are still a force to be deal with and with their medical technology so long as they get back a crystal and some of the body they can regenerate the person, most of the time.
Day to Day Technology is quite high, providing comfortable life style for anyone who lives on one of the more developed planets. With plenty of water, food, and anything else allows Atlanticans to focus on pursuits of the mind and enjoy life. They don't have to do much work, unless they want to, which some choose to do out of a sense of having something to do or to say they tried it once. On colony worlds that are new it technology is still high though it requires more work. Cars still exist, but they run on mini generators and actually hover, as traveling on the ground is quite inefficient.
Matter Converters This allows the converting of matter and energy into other forms of matter and energy. They use this as transporter to move people from ships in orbit to the surface. This also means that they can make food on ships and transform building materials into small packs that nano machines can take and then assemble into buildings.
Body and Energy Morph Atlanticans are not set to anybody or one look anymore, they they still prefer to look how their species normally looks. This is due to the fact they can integrate different genetics into the Crystal and change they way they look and what they are. This means that a man can become a woman and vice versa. As well as a person can become more animal like it is up to the person which leads them to not really care about gender or appearances, since they can change so easily for them. The energy morph allows one to integrate with machines and become a part of them, so a helmsmen for a ship, may not have a body if he chooses and actually fly the ship by being a part of it. Or a person in a mech my just be part of it, allowing more space for parts and other things since the pilot doesn't need a place to sit. Most don't choose this since it is a weird feeling and you loose some feelings and other things, if they do do it they only do it for short periods of time.
Medicine Most technologies with this now revolve around regeneration and prevention, not in actual treatment. This is due to the fact that the crystal stores the memory and consciousness of an individual so as long as you have the crystal and that consciousness and some genetic material you can regrown the body, which lead really to the end of death of their people. The more you have to regenerate the more time it takes though. Which is why they have such a low death rate, and can spread so quickly. Another note about this is most Atlanticans don't have a copy crystal, but some do. Important figures had a backup like the Empress so if her original crystal is destroyed she can be revived, part of the reason she is still around. The other reason why they are preventive is because the Crystal Net can also be used to monitor peoples health and body functions so they basically know if something is wrong with any of them at any time. There are still diseases and illness, it is just simple for them to cure. This is because of the crystal, since it monitors all bodily functions it can point what is wrong and what it is doing allowing for a cure that can be administered to the crystal which will send it out and kill the foreign body. If it doesn't work it also records why and the doctors can look at it and improve it. Though there are some illness which not even this can cure and do end up killing both the crystal and the host Atlantican.
Nanotech They use nano machines for most tasks such as building and ammo for weapons. This is do to the wide amount of things they can do, especially when you add in a matter converter. They act in factories and can even run farms and help in research and in some cases make parachutes and armor.
Integrated Technology All of the technology that is integrated into an Atlantican is done through the Crystal Net. Since the crystal is hooked up to every single part of an Atlantican nerves, brain, muscles, and anything else. This allows control over all of these parts as well as easy time integrated things into them. Such as a computer in there head, different body parts, and anything else they have from biological to machanical.

Racial Traits/evolutionary path/customs/traditions etc: The first Atlanticans were actually a genetic experiment to see if they could up lift something and make it survive on another world that was harsh and unforgiving. So they mixed various genetics together to see what would happen and if the being created could survive. Earth was still vary inhospitable on land during this time, so it worked as the perfect starting ground and testing facility. A few of the aliens would stay on the planet to watch over the beings and make sure that everything was going okay. To there surprise the new beings seemed to thrive on the environment and easily survive. They were pleased with how the experiment was going and how they could create life and make it work and were thinking about doing it on a larger scale.

But what they had not counted on was the beings were actually quite smart and far more intelligent then they had planned. This came from the fact that one of the researches didn't agree with what they were doing to create a dumb cattle race, so he injected intelligence with his own genetic code into them. This made them aware quite quickly and act dumb on the outside, so they could plan how to escape from there captors. Many generations based as the one race watched there beings survive the changes of the planet and even more life coming onto land and changing the environment. They watched how they adapted and changed and were happy with it, but all this time underground they had been changing and developing making cities and even weapons and plans to get out.

It to many more generations before they were ready to carry out their plan. They didn't know how many people were watching or how they were communicating with there home planet, but they did know how to get into the research facility. They quickly took it over and set about learning as much about the other race as possible as well as how to make it appear that everything was okay. This didn't last long, but long enough for them to reverse engineer their technology and make a spaceship and begin work on the Crystal Net. About this time the Empress was born and was one of the lead researchers on the Crystal Net project as well as the first test subject. With that they loaded up as many as they could, which sadly was not all of them, into the ship and began their exodus from their home world, their captors, and creators.

Those that were left behind survived by hiding and eventually just became part of the human race. Since they were close enough genetically that they could and they did not have the Crystal Net either. So they just blended in and even started the myth of the city of Atlantis to always remind them of were they came from and what they were. Eventually that faded and now they have forgotten all the of the past and only the myth and legend remains on Earth. Though the others are still alive and strong and still growing in the universe that they call home.

The others that left spent much of their travels asleep and kept alive due to the Crystal Net as they had a long way to go. To them it would feel like minutes passed, but in actuality they had left their home star system, the cluster, and even the galaxy and ended up in a completely new one, full of its own challenges and rewards. When they awoke from their sleep they looked out upon their new home and new world. There were not that many of them, though enough for a stable population and for growth.

The Atlanticans were peaceful, at first, focusing on the growth of the colony and medical technology to increase their life span. They soon discovered how much the Crystal Net did for them and how much it helped, this lead to one advance after another in medical technology first. It gave them almost right off the bat a way to survive thousands of years without dieing. This made also the transfer of knowledge easier and more new ideas kept on flowing in as more people were born and the population boomed. The Atlanticans were happy and very peaceful with very little military and a council government. As much as they wished it to, this peace would not last and would abruptly shattered by an act of war.

The Varians were the first alien race that the Atlanticans would run into in space on their own. By the time they met them, they were vastly different from the created race they were, in fact that was long before they even left Earth. They called themselves Atlanticans and were strong genetically and had there own language and everything about them, as if they had evolved normally. This didn't matter at all to the Varians who wanted their home planet and star system and would stop at nothing to get it.

The first attack came on the outpost that they had built on the farthest planet as way to begin testing fast space drives to get to other systems. The Varians came in and without warning open fired with the one vessel they had brought in and almost destroyed the station. Luckily they didn't otherwise we might never have known about the invasion and the attack they planned. People we freaked out about this and were divided on what to do, the council was paralyzed. This is the time that the Empress took power and united the Atlantican people and made them into an empire. She mobilized everyone into military production and making the ships to fight off the incoming enemy. She even had the Sword of Atlantis, the mother ship they used to get here, refitted to be a combat ship and the flag ship of the navy.

These were the days before regeneration so those that were lost, would become nothing more then memories and saved in the Crystal Net. The battle with the Varians would be the most deadly in terms of percent that the Atlanticans would ever face. They would lose then entire fleet but the Sword of Atlantis as well as they would lose nearly 43% of the total population of the entire Atlantican Empire. They would lose all but their home planet as one colony in their star system fell silent after another. As the navy was slowly destroyed to stop the Varians and their attempt to wipe out the Atlanticans.

Eventually the final battle happened in orbit of the home planet and this was the time that unless they won, they would all die. It didn't matter how much it took so long as enough survived and they could go on that was fine. They would fight not for their own lives but those behind them on the planet surface and those yet to be born. Bombardments that missed the ships would hit the planet so they would try to take them on the ships, but still some made it through, causing death and destruction on the home planet. But eventually the guns stopped and there stood in the debris a single ship burning, beaten, but not destroyed and it was the Sword of Atlantis.

The Varians couldn't attack anymore as they were to busy with other wars and conflicts on their home fronts to worry about a foe they that was beaten. But That was not the case the Atlanticans were hurting yes, but they were reinvigorated with a new purpose, leader, and goal. They reverse engineered the technology of the Varians and began new research. They went into over time producing technology, ships, and weapons and even making more children. They were gearing up for war and they were not going to lose and they would show the Varians that if you can't kill it don't fight it.

Though they would quickly repopulate the world and planets near by the sociological damage was still there and so were the scars. They remain there to this day as reminders of how hard and hostile the universe can be at times. It also taught them a very important less one they maintain, never think that every race you meant in space is friendly. Soon though their fleets were ready and they had the population to attack. So follow the Varian method they warped into there systems, using the warp drives they had made and proceeded to attack colony after colony. They were as ruthless as the Varians and would stop at nothing till they had conquered them. The Vaians are also one of the few races that the Atlanticans have gone to war with and after winning not integrated into the Crystal Net.

It was a long war but finally they had one and conquered them and begun there expansion into the this galaxy and settling outside the home star system. About this time they reorganized the government and how they did things now that their current enemy was gone. The council was reinstated, though the Empress remained and till lead the council; doubled research projects and funding, so a better FTL com and FTL could come about; and lastly they had military service as a mandatory requirement of every citizen, so everyone could fight if it came time to.

After the Varians the Atlantican Empire had a long peaceful period in which they expanded to other systems and regeneration technology came about. Though like before it would be shattered by war, by one of the Varians allies, this time though they were ready for war. For the next thousand of years, they were involved in conflict after conflict fighting wars that they didn't want or started, but would finish. They expanded further and further integrating more races into there own, till the bulk didn't look quite human. Eventually they found the Galactic Council that was meant to stop wars in the system with the Atlantican Empire acting as police, as by this time they ruled more then 35% of the Galaxy and were the most powerful force. Though that was what it was meant for eventually it just ended up uniting all the races under the Atlantican Empire and integrating them all into it. Eventually the Atlantican Empire ruled the entire galaxy and sure there were minor conflicts, but over all it was peaceful and far better then it was.

The Altantican Empire was researching more technology in its pursuit of knowledge, when it discovered the worm drive. This jumped them forward and even allowed extragalactic travel. With it though came new dangers and more races that they would have to interact with. As well as all the technologies they had now were developed with the help of this. Though one thing that they are still unsure about is a new race of creatures that came out during the first test, The Voiders, as they called themselves. They spoke of a conflict to come, with that in mind they receive the transmission of the free people. They go to in hopes they might get help or people of help, as they are wary, but still open to new cultures.

In general Atlanticans are very open and accepting of new ideas and cultures, they have there own but it flexible as it is made up of hundreds of different integrated species. They age to a certain point and then stop so they look constantly young, or they just regenerate to that. They look human by nature, but they can look however they want with the proper time and changes. They are quite inquisitive and always look for new knowledge and ways to have fun. They are great at reverse engineering technology and using it for there own purposes. They can only have children with one who is a part of the Crystal Net, though any race can be a part of it. Also marriage is life long and something that is eternal to them, since they bind there crystals together and share everything, to break that has been done, but is painful and leaves a void in both, so it is not done much. Due to the fact that they are made up of so many races they have wide and ranging beliefs and open to new ones. They value more mental then physical as they can change physically by choice at any time. The Atlanticans are also very open and willing to share their history which is why it is write down here and are more then happy to tell you about them, or to learn about a new race.

Preferences: Bisexual as most Atlanticans are.

History: The Empress has been around as long as the Empire has and lived through it all, she is the oldest member of the Atlantican race. She has never married, not because she doesn't want to, but because she has yet to find one worthy of spending her entire life with. She slowly rose to power and has remained so because of her soft and caring side and her cruel side and protective nature. She has wept with her people in joys and sorrows and has lived more lives then most know. Though she still acts young and doesn't like status much, which is part of the reason why she always goes to galactic events, both as a show of good will and two to have fun.

She is a fun loving person like all Atlanticans and has a huge thirst for knowledge. She mainly goes not as an Empress or at least telling people she is, partly because that means people treat her differently. She also rarely has guards as if you actually manage to kill her that is an impressive feat, considering she has lived so long and experienced so much, her body it to the height of what it can be. She doesn't like to be treated differently and hates it when people do. She worries for her people and even though she acts friendly and happy most of the time, she does have a very serious side to her.

She picked up the communications one of her extragalactic travels and hoped that they could help each other. Since They were so string now they have gone back to their peaceful way of doing things and wanted to help as many as possible. She has not decided whether they will act like a big power or just a small one, by hiding what they really are, she will wait and see. She left her home and now comes to this system to see what I is about, in a small destroyer class ship with a few escorts and people to help build good will.





I think I went overboard but I had so much fun writing it I just couldn't stop. Also if you read the whole thing I must congratulate you on making it to the end. Tell me what you think of the race and anything else I will gladly accept any comments you have, sinc eI am using it for something else and like your ideas and input. Oh, and Vergil1989 you said I shouldn't worry about making to long because you would be fine with it, hope that is true. And don't say I didn't warn you either I said it would be long.

I actually didn't read it from start to finish but I read the majority of it and I must say I am truly in awe of your genius my friend.  You are an excellent writer, and other than a few grammar errors here and there, you got your point across gloriously.  You are more than accepted to proceed to the IC, my Atlantican friend.

Ok, the basic summary is this.

Omega, as seen in Mass Effect 2, is the Neutral Zone to where all of the representatives will go before moving onto the next stage of the journey, which is the Capital, where the meeting is going to be held.  There is two reasons I do this.  One, to give a place for us to start, and two, to learn more about the characters we're bringing deeper into Council Space.  The Terminus System is on the very edge of Council Space, outside of their jurisdiction and so was the perfect place to set up our Neutral Zone or so I'll explain to everyone once we gather in a safer place lol.  Right now there's a firefight between the Blood Pack, Nyarly's group, and my own with Ironwolf's PC and Elfguy's assisting in the fight against the Krogan and Asari mercenaries.  Glyphstone and Hunter have yet to actually arrive at the station.  Otherwise, there's not a lot going on.

Btw just wanted to make a small change to my character. I think I mentioned at one point somewhere that she had a blaster handgun on her. She doesn't, her only weapon is a long curved blade that she carries in a holster on her back. why only women right now I count 3 woman - humanish characters Elfguy, Nyarly, and me, 1 woman - tree cat, 2 male humans, 1 male horse/human, and then two other people writing up characters that are going to be female I think. Bringing the count to 6 women and 3 males if I did my math correctly, which I hope I did.

Still working on my character profile, although it's done for the most part.  Mmmmm, are you looking to make this balance out, I'm not really up to making a male character for this game since I already have most of my girls info together.  But I can refrain from actually joining until more men join if you like.

The Var were intially a faction of scientist humans. However, their approach to the limitations of their technological development drove them to find an alternate solution. This came in the form of a brute-force approach, relying on mass-computation to provide for an unprecedented level of information analysis. The Var still exist as a science-focused species, but are composed entirely of artificial bodies, with human-like minds. Each Var is capable of communicating with the home-world, which still serves as the computing hub for the entire Var race, and co-ordinates all other technological centers.

The Var possess no hierarchy and operate as a kind of pure democracy. Because of their current form, they abandoned most of the precepts of human tradition, though, because of the nature of their society, they all hold certain values as sacrosanct, with an explicit social contract binding the extent of their freedom, though their individual freedoms are some of the least limited of any race.

Because of their current state, the Var ceased to evolve in a meaningful sense, though they do adapt at an astounding pace to any external development they encounter, and can, through sheer computational brute-force improve on almost any technology in the known universe.

The Var language is almost unintelligible to other races, even by linguists, as their words have extremely lax definitions. As such, they communicate in the languages of other races when in the company of anyone not of Var origin.

History: Created on the Var homeworld, Chloe is actually composed of far more bio-mechanical, and life-like components than is usual for a Var. Holy crap, that is a good PC my friend.  I am a little confused by the tech and culture and what does pansexual mean?  It's good it just needs to be explained a bit is all for the less intelligent of us lol.  Anyway, you're approved, so go ahead and post in the Character Thread and the IC as you see fit, just explain your stuff a bit for us is all.
