The Resistance (UN/NC/BON)
Paris, early 1943. The resistance movement is in full-swing, and Antoinette Gerard is smack-dab in the middle of it. Her father, a German sympathizer, holds a minor position in the Nazi Headquarters. Through him, and with a number of bribes, Antoinette has managed to secure a secretarial position. It is through sheer luck that she catches the eye of a higher-ranking officer in the Nazi party, and when he approaches her wanting a romantic liaison, she takes the opportunity to gain what information she can and pass it on to her friends in the Resistance.
I can see this going in a few different directions:
A. Antoinette's contact in the Resistance is her dear friend Guy (the name is not set in stone). He is passionate about his cause, and has been holding a candle for Antoinette for several years. She does not see him as anything more than a friend, and when she reveals her relationship with the German officer, his jealousy flares with dangerous passion; non-con antics ensue.
B. She develops real feelings for the German officer, and struggles with her love for him as well as her belief in the Resistance and their Cause, especially when they begin to overlap. Things turn deadly when Antoinette's involvement in the Resistance is uncovered, and the man she has fallen in love with has her arrested. She is questioned repeatedly, perhaps tortured, and imprisoned. What happens after that is up for discussion.
Mail Order Bride (UN/NC, M/F)
Katerina thought she was coming west to start a new life for herself. It had always been her dream to open a shop of her own, where she could do what she had always loved: sewing and creating ladies' fashions. Having recently lost her parents to influenza, she had very few prospects in New York City until her friend Elizabeth brought her an advertisement from the newspaper speaking of opportunities in the West for strong, self-sufficient women. It took very little thought for Katerina to sign up for the trip. Scrimping and saving, the two young women set out for the West with a group of ten other women. Katerina would make it; Elizabeth would not.
Arriving in the small mining town of Panther Creek, the reality of Katerina's situation came to light. It was little more than an bride auction. She saw young women unused to hard work given to burly miners and married on the spot, and older women married to widowers with several young children to look after. So when Katerina was chosen by a well-dressed, clean, coldly handsome man, she was grateful for her good luck. Or so she thought...
