If there’s still any room left, I’d be interested in playing a combat role.  Not necessarily a mercenary / hired hand, but still someone you’d want on your side in a fight.

I’ve made a character for Serenity before, but that’s about it.  I’m fine with learning whatever system this game ends up using.

I will have to learn any of these systems so does not matter one way or another to me. And any science/engineering or 'face' position sounds good to me!

Updated! No idea if CaptainErotica is happy/willing to cater to such a large crew, but I'll compile the list anyways so he can determine what he's comfortable with based on the interest given:

I would guess it depends on how much of a Sandbox CE wants it to be.  The more sandbox the game the easier I find to have more players as it is partially up to them to come up with plot (at least for the interpersonal stuff).

Sure enough - and the crew of Serenity was nine, so it seems like a fortuitous number.

Just need us a Companion, and we should be plenty capable of all manner of mad-capped capers. C:)

I am actually thinking central planet ex-pat that fills the cockpit with the 'Verses version of k-pop band posters and junk from Daiso.  ;D

Love 'em already. :D

My Captain would be inspired quite heavily by Mal - his character is the main reason for my love of the series - but perhaps a little darker for her time in the Valley. Hopefully the initial similarities will help me springboard into a more unique character.

Like all good Captains and non-com officers from the war, she will be a leader and commander, but her direct manner won't win her friends among more civilised folk. Beat leave those ones to the Companion - or similar - to appropriate.

I would be interested in this I would Love to play the Cortex version but I have nothing against savage worlds.  I may be a bit rusty with savage worlds but I did enjoy the system I played the  post apoc one with  the different mutants and stuff like that.

Just want to check in real quick so you all know I’m keeping tabs on things. I live in Japan so my free time is often opposite of everyone. I think I can handle the number of players we currently have- everyone who has expressed interest at this point. If others are interested I will put them on the short list should We need a replacement or so feel like I can handle more players.

Sometime in the few days I will try and post a character creation guide and a link to the Firefly Setting Book. I also have a Discord channel that I use for gaming if anyone wants to chat there.

If you are comfortable making your character then please feel free to send it to me via PM. I think that unless anyone objects we will start with Seasoned character (4 advances). If you do not know how to create a character I will try and have a creation write up ready by this weekend or maybe meet on Discord to figure things out.

Quick question for the group.  Do we think our ship is armed?  I don’t remember the serenity having weapons but it has been a while and we don’t have to copy exactly the show.  I am good either way.

Still very new to the system, but I THINK Seasoned allows me to buy into leadership Edges, which makes sense for my Captain.

Serenity had no weapons. Think having none would mean we rely on the pilot's skill and sharp thinking to get past problems, but I'm happy to go either way on this.
