A Day in the Park

There is a BBQ in the park and the whole town is invited! But all you human puppies and kittens, and the people who love them get a special welcome. Bring your ears, bring your tails, bring your leashes, bring your collars, but most importantly bring your sexy-selves If you're an owner without a pup, maybe you can find one here. If you're a kitten without an owner, maybe today's your lucky day! There will be a little fenced off area where the pets can play and the ones who love them can come to give them pets, snuggles, and treats. There will be food and drinks; there will be mingling with friends and strangers alike. There might even be a few games! One thing is absolutely certain, though: there will be fun! So, come down and enjoy yourselves.

Welcome to Harrison Springs

When you're here, you're family. This rustic little villa overlooks one of the few sandy beaches on Cedarwood Isle. In the winter, it's covered in snow; in the summer, the sun beats hot. But all year round, love abounds. And in Harrison Springs, that love takes many, many forms. There are Daddy doms and Little girls; there are puppies and there are ponies; there are masters and there mistresses. In Harrison Springs, love comes in twos. It comes threes. It comes in fours, and it comes in fives.

No matter the form your love takes, you can be absolutely certain that you'll never be judged in our quaint little town. If you're a Little, you'll find others to befriend and Daddies or Mommies to take care of you. If you're a sweet Puppy girl, no one bat an eyelash when they see your Mistress taking you for a walk out in the park. This is a place where you can live your life however you choose to live it. Chances are, in Harrison Springs, you'll find others living their life the same way that you live yours.

Literally Paradise (Help Wanted)

Literally Paradise is a cozy little bookstore and coffee shop that overlooks Harrison Springs' sandy beach. Visitors come the books and stay for the coffee, pastries, and friendly company. There's a lounge area near the front where customers can enjoy their drinks and snacks while sharing conversation with others - whether old friends or now. A little further into the store is where you'll find row upon row of mostly raggedy old books - the newer ones are kept on racks closer to the front. There are a few ratty but comfortable chairs and sofas located strategically throughout the shop, where a curious reader may pause a while to lose his- or herself in the pages of a good book.

Upon finding something you may to may to take home, you can usually locate the store's owner at the front behind the counter. Amelia Dawes will help with whatever you need! She's a starry-eyed brunette with a sweet face and a pretty smile. Most days, she'll be seen with her hair pinned into a messy bun and her nose buried in a book.

She lives upstairs in the apartment above the shop. As quaint as the actual bookstore is, their apartment is ever cozier. But it's more than enough for a single young woman. There are two small bedrooms - the master suite has a bathroom, complete with a full-size bathtub and shower. The living room and kitchen are joined together into one big room, and the dining area is little more than an afterthought. There's another bathroom  with shower just down the hall from the living area. It isn't much, but it's enough. It's Literally Paradise.

There's a help wanted sign in the front window. Those looking for part-time or full-time work are welcome to apply within.[/left]

Fig + Sparrow is half life-style shop, half café, serving an espresso-based menu, plus loose-leaf tea, and simple, savory foods. There’s a small but excellent range of cakes, an all-day breakfast menu, lunch, with various specials, sandwiches and a separate toast menu. You have to admire a place that has a separate toast menu.

The front half of the store is given over to the retail arm, selling gifts, trinkets and various coffee-related items for the home. The back half houses the coffee shop, with two rows of seating and the counter right at the back. It’s beautifully laid-out, uncluttered and spacious, with wooden floorboards and whitewashed walls and ceilings. Although not much natural light reaches the back, the high ceiling and multiple, hanging light make it surprisingly bright. The result is a very relaxed atmosphere, with quiet, easy-listening music in the background.

Library

Harrison Springs' local public library is run by the lovely Nicolette Walsh. It's a two story building, with an open-concept main floor, while the second is divided into several rooms for various activities and conferences. There are three small rooms, big enough for a couple people but too cramped for much more than that. The two mid-size rooms are large enough for six, and there's one conference room that can comfortably accommodate up to fifteen.

Besides the typical library features - book and movie rentals - Nicolette has created something of a haven for the many Littles around Harrison Springs, along with their Mommies, Daddies, and Caretakers. She or her staff often host story-time and other similar events aimed specifically at this crowd. Petplay is also allowed in the library - though, visitors are cautioned to remember that it is still a library, and as such noise should be kept to a minimum.

For those looking to exercise their body as well as their mind, Nicolette's library offers you a chance to do just that. Whether it's yoga you're after, meditation, art and literature, the library hosts classes on each and all. Just look up front or online for the schedule. And, of course, there are a few less vanilla options for those kinksters looking to learn a little bit more about the lifestyle. BDSM classes of all types are hosted in the library as well.

The Den: Pet Boutique

Pet Boutique

Owned by Cecilia Ann Smith. A kink store specifically targeting pet-play of various sorts. Leashes, paws, treats, cute little ears, and butt-plug tails are all sold here! All treats are made by Cecelia and pets of both the two legged and four legged varieties are welcome during store hours.  Need a place for your pet to rest while out and about?  Pet sitting services will soon be offered but please keep in mind that pets need to be well mannered and able to communicate in an appropriate manner during their stay.  Services are only offered during store hours with the pet staying in the designated area.  Water and snacks are provided.

The Beach

The Harrison Springs beach is open year round, though it sees few visitors except during the height of summer. Even in the spring and fall, but especially the winter, the water is far too cold for swimmers. And from November until the spring thaw, the sand is covered by heavy snow.

Besides a great place to swim, the beach is a great place for a picnic or a romantic hike. There are miles and miles of walking trails, and perhaps even a few temporary refreshment booths setup along the water. The beach has also proved to be a popular venue where people will host parties and other big events. The town itself throws holiday celebrations at the beach, many of these including fireworks, bonfires, and town-wide BBQs.

'Pet' Park

The Harrison Springs 'pet' park is subdivided into two main areas, which are separated by a wooded area in the middle with a path running through it. The western side is where dog-owners can take their animals for a long walk out in the sun. The eastern park is for a different sort of pet. Here you'll find puppy girls and pony boys, sweet little kittens, and other human pets of various sorts along with their owners. Just remember, leashes are optional!

Both the western and eastern side are open, grassy fields with only a few trees littered here and there. The parks are outfitted with picnic tables, benches, and a cobblestone walking path. There are also public restrooms on both sides, a changing area, and a couple sheltered outdoor dining areas.

Harrison Falls

Following a small creek out of town, you'll find yourself on a pathway leading into a thick forest that, upon entering, you'll wonder if you've left the world behind in favour of a fairytale all your own. The trees and shrubbery surrounding you block the sounds of civilization, and instead you will be greeted by the noises of nature. Birds will sing their sweet songs, and a babbling brook will guide you along the path. Eventually, you'll come to an opening where a cascading waterfall opens up into a serene little pool. Surrounding the pool is an expansive meadow cut-out of the otherwise thick forest. Harrison Falls has been the setting for many a romantic date or friendly picnic. Occasionally, visitors will take advantage of the forest's privacy to engage in more . . . amorous activities. Whatever your reason for visiting the Falls, you will not be disappointed. And the near 5 kilometre hike (one-way) is absolutely worth the trek. 

Overview

Time Period: Current

First of all, I apologize if there's another game out there like this one! It's a sandbox game without any story arc, except the individual ones created by the players and characters that join. Our setting is an autonomous island where people seeking to live alternative lifestyles can go to live them both safely and publicly with other like-minded people. Particularly, there will be a lot of BDSM style relationships that might not be so easily accepted elsewhere in society. That is, Puppy Play, Pony Play, Mommy and Daddy Dom(mes) along with their Littles will be common. Domestic discipline, polyamory, and all sorts of other things are just as welcome.

Anyone who'd like to join can come with an unattached character who will need to find whatever he or she is looking for in-game. Or you're welcome to create characters who have pre-existing relationships that you established OOC with another interested party. It's pretty open.

If you do create a single character, please make sure you provide a brief description of what sort of play you're seeking for that character. Is he a Daddy dom looking for a little? A dominatrix looking for Pony-boy? Is she dominant or submissive? Maybe a switch? Does he like Domestic Discipline? Or is she just a general kinkster who's open to just about anything and everything BDSM? This will make it a little easier to find partners, I think.

Another thing I'd really like to emphasize here is the community interaction among like-minded kinksters, many of whom are actively living 24/7 BDSM lifestyles. It's a small-town where just about everyone knows everyone else. People know what their friends and neighbours are into. They know their roles. This means that if a dominant is out taking her Puppy Girl for a walk, another person might come up and scritch the Puppy Girl's chin, give her a treat. If a submissive in a DD or MD/lg relationship is found by another dominant doing something he or she shouldn't, that dominant will know if she can deal with the submissive's behaviour personally, or if she should take the submissive home where his or her lifestyle Dom(me) can deal with it. Hopefully you get what I'm trying to convey here! But if not, please feel free to ask any questions!



Who Can Join?

This game is pretty open! However, all characters must be human and 18+. No magic, no SciFi, no superpowers. It's a modern, realistic world. Males, Females, and Trans characters are welcome. The game is very much LGBTQ Friendly.

As noted, you can come with a single character or one with established relationships. She can be a longtime resident or a total newcomer.

Each character needs to either have an occupation or a reason why he doesn't need one. It's not free to live in the town! You're encouraged to setup little businesses of your own. (Please don't make a bookstore, though. That's what I'm going to do for my character.)

You can have a maximum of three characters. But if you're going to make more than one, please try to keep in mind the other characters that are currently in-game and what might be needed to make our community a little more lively and vibrant.



Setting

Cedarwood Isle is a small, autonomous island located somewhere off the North East coast of the United States. Its founders sought to create a safe place where people seeking alternative lifestyles could go to settle down and live their lives. Anyone, however, is welcome as long as they are open-minded, non-judgmental, and certainly non-violent. It is a peaceful place and a safe place.

There are several villages scattered around the island. The smallest of these - and the one where this game is set - is a hillside villa overlooking a sandy beach and surrounded by forest. Harrison Springs - named after its founder and current mayor - is home to a few hundred residents, many of whom are actively living the most alternative of the alternative lifestyles.

It is not uncommon is this quaint little town to see people crawling along on all fours at the end of their partner's leash. There are no rules restricting public nudity, though it is generally expected that most people will be clothed most of the time. There are human puppies, human ponies; there are Mommy Dommes and Daddy Dommes, their boys and their girls. There are, however, no children allowed in the town (this includes the 16-18 range that E allows; everyone must be 18+). Many, but not all, of the residents here live 24/7 BDSM lifestyles. Others restrict their kink to the bedroom. There are dominants, there are submissives, and there are switches. Some people are monogamous, others polyamorous. Some people might be single, others marred. Harrison Springs is home to all sorts of relationships, and the residents are all very open about how they live.

Given its small population, most residents - except the newest - know each other quite well and generally aware of what lifestyle their friends and neighbours live, their roles, and their limits. These limits are very important, and many of the town's bylaws are specifically designed to protect its residents from their limits being pushed. However, the town's one-or-two police officers have rarely found cause to reinforce them. People in Harrison Springs are generally all very supportive of one another!

Putting the above-mentioned aspects aside, Harrison Springs is an otherwise typical small-town. There are bookstores, a grocery store, a library, a pub or two, and other various entertainment venues, along with restaurants, a firestation, and a governmental building. People work for a living, just like they would do in any other town - except, perhaps, a few who are supported by a partner or family member.

Despite its openness, not everything is allowed. Bestiality is banned. Rape is as much a crime here as anywhere else. As mentioned above, no one under the age of 18 is ever permitted inside the town. Limits of others must always be respected. And other extreme kinks that might squick some residents out are strictly prohibited to any public areas. These include such things as bathroom play, blood, and severe bondage/pain play. Public sex is allowed, but it's generally expected that residents keep it to at least semi-private areas. Finally, each private establishment (including, but not restricted to residences) has the right to ban certain practices inside.



Climate and Geography

The island itself is relatively small, but its space vast enough that its 6 or 7 small villages are each far beyond walking distance from the others. The landscape consists mostly of rolling grass hills, interspersed with dense pockets of both deciduous and coniferous forests.

Cedarwood Isle has a temperate climate, with cold winters and warm summers. The spring and fall, however, are entirely unpredictable. In the summer, the usually plenty warm enough for swimming for those who enjoy that sort of thing. In the winter, everything is covered in snow and ice.



Rules and Expectations:

First of all, this game is intended to be relatively open and self-sustaining. It's a sandbox world with a general theme that we can all play around and have fun. But you as players need to be somewhat autonomous. I'm here to help, and hopefully to play a lot!, but I want this game to be able to run on its own once it gets going.

This shouldn't need saying, but please respect the limits of all other players and their characters in the game. This refers both to sexual orientation and specific kinks.

Conversely, kink-shaming and belittling of any other kind will also not be tolerated. If you're not into something, that's fine. Disrespect is not. This game will rely heavily on community interaction. Therefore, characters who refuse to interact and be friendly with others based on their sexual preferences or certain kinks will not be welcome.

I'm not going to be super picky with the characters I accept into the game, but just keep in mind that I won't be forcing anyone to play with anyone else. So, the more appealing your character, the more likely he or she will be to get partners.

As noted above, but worth saying again, is that no underage characters are allowed whatsoever. 18+ only.

Bestiality is not allowed. Rape is not allowed. Most other extreme kinks are allowed, but all scenes including them should be tagged appropriately.
