TheBlackThrone

I made this game back in 2017, and I remembered that I never started it. For those who remember this game, I still have your CSes. PM me if you want them. This game will be in the Extreme section because there will be some horror elements with alien infiltration and possibly gore due to deaths from aliens and space itself. This game is also an Adult game so expect tasteful sex. I say tasteful because this isn't a smut game. It has a story that we all make. Be open to interaction, collaboration, and enriching the story because it'll only be as good as we all put into it. You won't see pictures of the Mecha in here because I was allowing the Valkyrie pilots to design their own. You don't need to have an engineering background or be nerd-heavy in science. This is all fiction. This game will require writers to be at the intermediate to advanced level.

GM Note: This role play is inspired by Norse mythology; however, it has nothing to do with gods, magic, or any of that expected in a Norse mythology-themed RP. The Norse influence is in the names of some characters, technology, the galaxy, etc. If you have ever seen the anime “Appleseed,” then you will understand how I intend to use the names. Be sure to read this game in order to understand how the Norse influence is being used.

Welcome to Midgard. This is our home until the end or…until we find Valhalla, the Promise Land. No one really knows if it exists or not, but most of us have no choice but to hope. Midgard is a space colony comprised of the remaining survivors of Earth. Yes. Earth is no more. It was destroyed well before it was invaded by Surtr and his legion of fire giants and demons. His conquering army are known as the Muspell, an enemy who we manage to escape at the sacrifice of our Valkyrie units. You’re probably thinking, “Thank God, some of us escaped.” Well, we didn’t escape in the most fair or honest of ways. The rich and the intelligent were priority. Everyone else who didn’t manage to board were left behind. That was twenty years ago (Circa ℘--denotes “Pre” 3050).

The Great Exodus is what we called that day and the years following have been designated as ℵ or the “Neo” age. Life on the colony has since been normal. It is very easy to forget that your entire world is on one enormous space ship. After high school, everyone either joins the civilian sector or the fleet. No matter what path you choose. You are contributing to the survival of the colony. Although, even when knowing the gravity of our situation not everyone is happy. A group of Doomsayers (and that’s simply what we call them regardless if they have an actual group name or not) appear every once in a while and try to endanger all life on the colony. One impersonating an engineer managed to damage one of the colony’s engines, but it hadn’t been severe enough that repairs couldn’t be made. The Doomsayers are a despicable people who believe the survivors should be destroyed and not be allowed to live for before Surtr, all the survivors did was destroy the planet. What would stop them from destroying Valhalla? The Doomsayers are often incarcerated, and depending on the gravity of their offense, ejected into space. Heh, who needs them?

Circa ℘--3050 (Timeline begins in the final year)
 • September 7 – Swedish Rocket Scientist Ymir Sturluson completes construction of the Midgard colony at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. Amidst an Earth near barren from global warming and resource wars, Sturluson begins admitting those who could afford it. Admission was $800,000 for a single person, $500,000 for a pair, and $100,000 for families greater than two family members.
 • September 8 – Protests and violent riots break out world-wide as those who can’t afford to board lament. Many poor commit suicide and go on hysterical shootouts in the streets. Terrorism explodes as saboteurs make numerous attempts to destroy the ship.
 • September 9 – Motivated by promised admission aboard the ship, the Cape Canaveral Police Department and the National Guard take violent measures to subdue the terrorists.
Circa ℘--3051
 • January 10 – The last paying customer boards Midgard. Having acquired enough money to pay off debt for Midgard’s construction, Sturluson opens admission to the rest of the world in a lengthy admission and screening process that would have taken several years.
 • April 20 – Earth becomes invaded by aliens called the Muspell.
 • April 25 – World War 3 is triggered requiring all armies on the planet to combat the fiery menace.
 • May 29 – The Valkyrie Project is started using the salvaged technology from destroyed Muspell ships.
 • August 1 – The first Valkyrie unit is created and led by Commander Freya.
 • August 10 – The Valkyrie unit manages to suppress the Muspell in order for Midgard to launch. Midgard launches into space leaving millions behind in what is known as The Great Exodus.
 • August 11 – The First Valkyrie Team, as they’ll forever be known, are left behind to hold off the Muspell as Midgard warps to safety. No one knows the fate of The First Valkyrie Team but seeing as its been twenty years since their sacrifice, they are honored as heroes.
 • September 12 – Commander Odin Rosencrantz takes command of the colony.
 • September 13 – Commander Odin declares August 10 a memorial day for those who were left behind in The Great Exodus and also are celebrated and honored on that day are The First Valkyrie Team.
Circa ℵ--3052
 • February 22 – Sturluson and other scientists advance Valkyrie technology after discovering that certain asteroids carry a rare metal ore known as “Hreidmar” or “Hreidmetal” as it is popularly called. Star clusters were also gathered as a new form of energy to power Midgard.
--3053
 • June 30 – Midgard encounters a new alien race known as Alves. Refugees from a planet also destroyed by the Muspell, Commander Odin cautiously allows the Alves sanctuary.
 • July 2 – The Alves share sustainable technology for energy and the greenhouses on Midgard as well as introduce a new type of music called “A-Trap.”
--3054
 • March 17 – More alien refugees are encountered. A small race of alien called the Svartal. The Svartal permitted similarly like the Alves to board Midgard bring to the crew advanced engineering.
--3070
 • January 13 – a brand new class of Valkyrie pilots begin their orientation. This is where the game begins.

It’s January 13, 3070, twenty years since Midgard left on The Great Exodus. A new cadet class of Valkyrie pilots are being recruited. Their first step is finding out if their minds are strong enough to accept the initial wave of mental training often called the Mind Melt because of the temporary brain dead state those who failed the initial test endure. This class of pilots will be physically and mentally tested as individuals and as a team before they are allowed to pilot their Valkyrie units. This is the very beginning of the story and where character interaction/development first begins. The game will mostly be sandbox with GM situations tossed in, specifically, the training simulations and tests. The chapter ends when the cadets graduate their training. Graduation will determine the overall rank of the characters after. Rank does not determine power or strength, but leadership position. If your character ends up a leader at the end of the chapter, then he or she will be leading the others in his or her squadron. This is all for story and character development purposes and nothing more.

The major population on Midgard are the Humans. However, there are other minority races such as Alves and Svartal. Further detail is written below:

Human – Humans are resilient jacks of all trades. They aren’t the strongest and what they lack in strength they compensate with technology. It is because of their ingenuity that they have been able to survive or even escape into space and continue to evade the Muspell. Humans, however, are fragile. Infections, broken limbs, dismemberment, disease; these things have not been left behind. In fact, in space and with the inclusion of alien species onto Midgard, humans were forced to form immunities to diseases they have never encountered before. Sometimes, a human’s survivability relies on them losing some or all of their humanity. Because of this, human cyborgs are the most common of Cyborgs. Those humans with strong immune systems are physically stronger than those incapable of adapting. Often, they are the humans who are not Cyborgs. As Valkyries and foot soldiers, Humans have a natural affinity with weapons and technology. They may not be smarter than the Svartal when it comes to creating these things, but they know how to use them to their greatest potential.

Alves – are the most beautiful and handsome beings on Midgard. Often referred to as “Space Elves” by Humans, the Alves have a natural charm that can mesmerize those susceptible to their beauty. They have an affinity with life and exude an energy that plant life feed off of. They can also use this energy to heal others. Alves are often found in the culinary, agrarian, and medical sectors of Midgard. As Valkyries and foot soldiers, they play an important role as combat medics. While any race can fulfill the role of combat medic, it is without contest that the Alves make the best medics. Not only can they physically heal the wounded, but they can mentally heal them with their charm by soothing the mind of the afflicted.

Svartal – are more reputable for their engineering than for their short stature. They are weapons, armor, aircraft—technological geniuses. They are so smart that some Cyborgs will often challenge Svartal to hacking. The thing is, a Svartal was probably the one who made the cybernetics for the Cyborg. As foot soldiers, they are the combat engineers. You need to boot a dormant ship, quick repairs on a downed Valkyrie unit, quick repairs on a burnt-out weapon; heck, watch them build a weapon out of old rubbish. They are the most resourceful to have on a team.

After the general listing, all three races are capable of falling into the categories below.

Cyborgs – Cyborgs are humans who either lost a limb or whose organs have failed due to a weak immune system. They had to have something replaced for some reason to ensure their survival. They are often tasked with the heavy-lifting. They are the heavy weapons when on foot and when pilots of a Valkyrie unit they have the best sync with the unit’s brain. Cyborgs are quick learners, and while they tend to master the Valkyrie unit the quickest, they become so in sync with the unit that damage taken directly to the unit is felt by the pilot. Cyborgs are capable of hacking programs, but they are not capable of hacking what isn’t active. They cannot hack a broken computer or a malfunctioned door. In order for Cyborgs to hack a system, similar to how they sync with the Valkyrie, they must plug themselves into the system. Note: Cyborgs can only hack or sync with a Valkyrie unit and other machines only if they possess a cybernetic brain. If the Cyborg’s brain is still biological in its entirety, then they cannot hack or sync with the Valkyrie. They, instead, receive the same Awakening as everyone else.

Valkyrie – Depending on the amount of cybernetic augmentation a Cyborg receives, they may not be capable of receiving The Awakening. The Awakening happens to those pilots who survive the “Mind Melt” and when immediately tossed into a scenario are able to demonstrate physical and mental capabilities forced into their minds. The Awakening merely forces information into a person’s mind in a concentrated and rapid manner. The information will be martial arts, acrobatics, heightened perception, and quickened reflexes. Cyborgs with a cybernetic brain receive this information as a program download. Cyborgs without a cybernetic brain receive the information in the same manner as everyone else. Being able to make swift decisions when they are needed are crucial skills for a Valkyrie pilot.

The Valkyrie unit is the most respected unit on Midgard. They are the warriors that give their lives in order to see that the colony survives. They are the spear that thrusts into the heart of the Muspell. The First Valkyrie Team is a legendary team that every cadet strives to be like. Some of the cadets may even be descendants of the pilots, and are thus motivated to march down the same path. Not all cadets qualify for the Valkyrie unit. It requires a type of mind and that mind comes with genetics. Not even descendants of the First Valkyrie Team make it through the initial stages to their grief.

New recruits do not receive a multiple choice test or any written exam that tests their mathematical or literary skills. No; they are placed into a dark chamber filled with saline and are left to float in a desensitized state. A helmet is connected to their skull with electrodes that send multiple pulses into different areas of their brain. The visor rapidly feeds information through their eyes directly into their brain, and depending on the brain’s ability to process such information at such a speed, the recruit will either emerge in a brain dead state or coherent. If a recruit is able to show even mild coherence, then they are immediately attacked by an instructor. A recruit capable of defending him or herself will pass the test. A recruit sent to the floor by the instructor will fail. The attrition rate is: 60% brain dead, 30% coherent but still fail, and 10% coherent and pass. Clarification: Brain dead does not literally mean brain damaged. The condition is temporary.

Those that fail can still go on to support Midgard in other offensive and defensive units. Unfortunately, recruits for the Valkyrie unit are only looked at once.

Below are some examples of the Valkyrie suits accepted recruits will wear to all classes. It is important that the recruits get used to the feel of their suits before entering a unit. The suits heighten the pilots sensitivity to touch so that when they settle into the cockpit, they become one with their machine versus being overwhelmed by the hypersensitivity of the sync. Valkyrie units, although machine, are oddly sentient. It could be a result of Svartal technology but the unit and the pilot become one. The unit has even been known to react independently in defense of its pilot. That is, a pilot well-synced with his or her unit. Each Valkyrie unit is as unique as the pilot controlling them. They possess various weapon systems and even behaviors.

(Left to Right: Female Valkyrie Suit, Male Valkyrie Suit, and Heavy Suit.)

I don't care how you design the below character sheet. I left it plain for such a reason. You can use 1001fonts.com for fancy fonts to help design it. You can create multiple characters and NPCs for this game. Whatever helps you enhance the story.

Full Name: First, Middle, Last
Nickname(s): Short or diminutive forms of their name? Other names?
Alias: Chapter One, probably don't have an alias yet unless their background has something worth mentioning.
Age: 18+
D.O.B.: Date of Birth. DOBs will be added to the timeline.
Gender: Male or Female.
Race: These are the only allowed races: Human, Alf, Svartal; Half-Svartal; Half-Alf; Svartalf (Svartal is the dominant trait); Alfatal (Alf is the dominant trait); or Cyborg-“x” (whatever combination). The hybrids will not be as effective in their abilities as the purebloods. The hybrids basically fulfill the need for those who want to be unique and that’s it. Purebloods are preferred over hybrids because they are the most effective in their duties.
Sexuality: Self-explanatory.
Relationship Status: This can be updated throughout the game.
Height: (Svartal 5’0” or below)
Weight:
Hair Color: Can be any color of the rainbow. If it has highlights, shaved a certain way, length, etc. Explain it here.
Eye Color: Humans have normal eye colors. Alves, Svartal, and Cyborgs can have whatever eye colors.
Occupation: New Recruit (this is the standard for everyone unless you are making a NPC or something other than a new pilot).

General Description: Scars, tattoos, body type, skin color, ear length; all of the details can be explained here. Cybernetic parts need to be described here also.

Personality: Just a general explanation. It should be more than three lines.
Likes: Non-sexual.
Dislikes: Non-sexual.

Backstory: They were most likely a child when they had to flee Earth. Explain how they fled. Was their family rich? Was their family members one of the pilots of the First Valkyrie Team (please don’t everyone choose this back story)? Were they poor and managed to sneak on board? Do not make these stories so far-fetched that they’re just unbelievable. Make the stories believable please. Also, if you can't think of anything just yet, then that is fine. You can put the backstory on hold until your character develops further. It is not a mandatory requirement to get accepted into the game.

Skills: These are talents, hobbies, or skills. Example: Cooking, dancing, martial arts, painting, singing, etc.
[li]List here[/li]
Character Relations: This doesn’t have to be filled out immediately. It can be filled out as the characters go through the class.

Notice that I didn’t include weapons or any mecha information. The reason why is in Chapter One, the recruits won’t have access to their mechas yet, and various weapons will be provided throughout the training experience. During the experience, your characters can feel out a weapon to specialize in. As for the mechas, the mechas are going to be unique and you can name them after Norse figures and give them special properties similar to those Norse figures later. In the meantime, as the characters go through training, brainstorm a Mecha and its personality because if this game reaches Chapter Two, then that portion of the character sheet will be updated.

1. Activity. If you cannot afford to actively participate in this game at this time, then don't. There is no point in creating a CS, getting it approved, posting once in the game, and realizing that you don't have time and dropping out. Why waste your time and why waste mine?
2. Game Speed. I expect the game to move only as fast as it takes for your RP partner to post. However, when there are missions, the game will move every GM post. Meaning, everyone will post once per rotation until the mission is completed.
3. Sandbox. There will be a side thread for sandboxing for those writers who have storylines or who desire more character interaction between their characters who have some chemistry. You can even come up with your own plots in this thread as long as it doesn't involve the alien threat.
4. Drama. Just don't do it. If you're having a bad day, then just come back when you're in better spirits. Do not disrupt the game with it.
5. Whatever I say goes. I do my best to be a fair GM, but I do not bend over backwards to please everyone. I don't. So if I say something is going this way, then it will. I am open to criticism and suggestions. Always open for feedback as long as it actually tries to offer a solution/improvement. However, if I make a decision that you don't like, then don't argue with me about it. You won't get far and I won't argue back. If it ever comes down to that, then you might as well leave.
6. GM Goal. My goals are to keep this game moving smoothly, create fun scenarios that players can participate in, keep the drama to a minimum if not stamp it out, and give writers a place where they can see their characters grow and allow their imaginations to run wild. That is my goal; that has been my goal forever; and every time I GM a game it never changes.
7. Have fun.
More rules may be added if necessary.

Artwork to give you an idea of what each race looks like. Also, to capture some atmosphere of this game.

Svartal

Female Svartal are tricky because they can be young-looking and you do not want to pick pictures that would make anyone think the character is underage, so you can use pics of cyberpunk women and just say in the CS their actual height.

Alves

It's not easy to find Alves or "Space Elves" without there being some fantasy influence involved. These are some examples of various Alf appearances.

#2
NPC

Full Name: Midgard Commander Lucas Zachariah Odin
Nickname(s): Fishbowl Head, Luke, Odin, The Commander
Alias: The Survivor
Age: 55
D.O.B.: 25 March 3015. Aries.
Gender: Male
Race: Cyborg-Human
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Married to Frigg
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 350 lbs (due to cybernetic body)
Hair Color: N/A
Eye Color: N/A
Occupation: Midgard Commander

General Description: Commander Odin is all machine. His head was vaporized during the Muspell invasion of Earth, but doctors discovered that his brain was still intact inside his charred skull. Using Muspell technology, doctors and scientists were able to resurrect Odin. Still to this day, they do not know if his soul resides in his body or if souls even exist. Odin lives and move for as long as his brain survives in the often joked “fishbowl” they had placed it in. His entire body is one self-sustaining machine. He is unforgettable and his new appearance strikes fear into the hearts of humans and aliens. Only few can remember what Odin used to look like. His wife and children and those being around his age remember. Odin’s skull is bright red within its container due to a chemical reaction to the broth. His voice is projected from his body as though he is speaking into a microphone. Scientists don't understand how he can speak, but his voice still sounds the way his wife remembers (thus the possibility of souls being real).

Personality: Commander Odin started in the United States Navy and never imagined he would be commanding a space force. He was such a brilliant strategist that doctors and scientists worked hard to preserve him. Thus, he was resurrected into a cybernetic golem. The commander rarely raises his voice and when he does, then clearly it is not for good reasons. He is soft-spoken, but the depth of his voice coupled with his crimson skull of a head make him come off as intimidating to most. His wife would testify that he is gentle. His crew would say otherwise.

Odin is not always seen due to sitting in meetings about the status of the colony and more meetings about strategic planning. He overlooks the creation of Valkyrie pilots and is the final decision-maker on whether a pilot is approved to fly or serve in the civilian sector. So when Valkyrie pilots receive their license, they get an autograph from the legend himself.

Odin remembers Earth. The new generation in Midgard have grown without ever knowing what Earth was. He is one of the few surviving beings that have fought directly with the Muspell and know of their strategies. Thus, he tailored the entire Valkyrie program around countering their strategies and has been strict on selection. There were pros and cons with the First Valkyrie Team and Odin made sure the cons weren’t repeated.

TheBlackThrone

NPC

Full Name: Current Valkyrie Commander Hlin Rose Delgado
Nickname(s): Helen, Red Chin, Red Bitch, Tits, Valkyrie Mama.
Alias: Pilot of Hammer Red
Age: 34
D.O.B.: 29 April 3036. Taurus.
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Sexuality: Pansexual
Relationship Status: Single, but known for having multiple lovers.
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 165 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Grey
Occupation: Current Valkyrie Commander

General Description: Hlin is a tall and attractive Valkyrie pilot; however, her looks do not match her attitude. Her skin pigmentation changed with the introduction of the Alves but before their introduction, her skin lightened to stark-white in complexion. Doctors don’t understand why her skin changed, but as for the red pigmentation she is known for, it could be an allergic reaction to extraterrestrial antigens. Hlin applies a special ointment on her red areas that nullify the burning pain. Besides her imperfections, many subordinates find the woman at the top of their ‘wish they could’ fuck list. Her body is muscular and toned, and if it wasn't for her softer areas such as her breasts and ass, her body may have resembled a fit male's.

Personality: Hlin, better known as Helen or Commander Delgado, is a no-nonsense commander. She doesn’t look at her gender or anyone’s gender or race when she is addressing them. When she tells you to do something, you will do it or try to regardless if God made you capable or not. She doesn’t like excuses. She wants everyone to own their fuck ups and not come to her with a story for why “x” didn’t happen. For a human, her physical performance is special forces level. Her large mammories do not get in the way of her out-performing her competition in combat and fitness. She was Commander Freya’s successor for a good reason.

The commander comes off as fearless, competitive, and some even find her scary due to her imperfections. When Commander Delgado is in your face over something you failed to do, you’re either shaking or feeling aroused. Men and women subordinates have both fallen for her, and she is known to secretly call lovers to her bed. Being a feared commander can be lonely and stressful at the top, subordinates dream of being the next one called to her bed so that she can vent her frustrations. Her promiscuous nature could be the reason why she has yet to marry. She is strong and independent, and she can get sex whenever she needs to.

Backstory: To be discovered in game. What is known is that she was second-in-command to Commander Freya.

TheBlackThrone

NPC

Full Name: Valkyrie Instructor Shin Bragi
Nickname(s): None; some may be acquired in game.
Alias: Pilot of Gjallarhorn
Age: 25
D.O.B.: 5 October 3045. Libra.
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Sexuality: Hetersoexual
Relationship Status: Single, not looking.
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 165 lbs
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Occupation: Valkyrie Instructor

General Description: Instructor Bragi often has a very scrutinizing look on his face as though he is constantly assessing others. He wears cool smiles and doesn’t seem like the type to be bothered by people easily. He likes to wear comfortable clothing, but recruits will often see him wearing his instructor uniform comprised of a long, black jacket, black pants, and boots. Beneath those clothes is the cut and lean body of a martial artist.

Personality: Instructor Bragi can be infuriating to some recruits. He often wears a smug smile, and no matter how upset recruits get, he is an instructor for a reason. He might be a little full of himself but his skills back up his arrogant behavior. He likes to punish the unruly recruits but not in an abusive manner. He just likes to make his classes hard because toughening the recruits will weed out the weaklings. Even after recruits survive Awakening, some have quit because they couldn’t stand Instructor Bragi and his training. He will admit his training his tough, but it is necessary for linking with the Valkyrie unit can put an extreme level of stress on the mind and body, both need to be resilient.

Instructor Bragi is always assessing new recruits. He searches for the weaklings and will insensitively try to weed them out unless they prove him otherwise. In class, Instructor Bragi is a competent fighter, “competent” may be an understatement. He takes martial arts very seriously, especially the discipline behind it. Recruits will discover that he is merciless. He will knock recruits unconscious during spars. The only thing he won’t do is break their limbs, but he will dislocate them because…well…those are easier to fix. Pain is a lesson learned.

Recruits can expect to be crawling and dragging their bodies back to their quarters after lessons with him.

Dislikes: Non-sexual.

Backstory: Note: This is rough. Like very rough. Basically my brain on caffeine. Not all of these ideas will make it into Wyatt's final backstory. I could also use some opinions, tbh.

The Archibald family was very rich on Earth (I'm thinking they ran an oil/mining/gold company of some sort? Oil is definitely gone on Earth 3050 but maybe something like that. Now on the fleet they help find rare minerals? Open to suggestions though). They easily paid for their families survival, and could have paid for others, but they politely refused. Money is earned, not shared, or so goes the Archibald model. Their daughter was somewhere between 2-5 years old when they left Earth, and to this day, bares a lot of guilt for how her parents didn't aid other humans (including most of their friends and employees).

Wyatt's parents are married, alive and well off. Wyatt was once a very promising socialite in her teenage years (perhaps being groomed to be a politician or delegate of some sort, or someone's trophy wife to increase the human population? Does the game need one of those?) But in her teenage years had a 'fall from grace'. (I'm not sure what this fall was yet, but it was bad enough that Wyatt has some trauma and some serious anger management issues now, and it definitely ended any chance of her having a professional, prim and proper career). Maybe she suffered an injury in the trauma? Now I'm just rapid firing ideas. Okay. So.

The fall from grace was one year ago. Due to her angry and destructive outbursts, Wyatt has spent the last year in weekly therapy. (Does she also take medication? I feel like no, because that might complicate things in this game). So it's just like behavioral techniques and strange, weird self talk (cue Wyatt's vivid imagination). She's not the most structured or dexterous cadet, and everyone knows her father paid for her to be in the new class of recruits. But this class might be Wyatt's last chance to prove she's not broken beyond repair.

Skills:

 • Fist Fighting - Wyatt has trouble managing all of her emotions, but her anger management is by far the worst. When she gets upset, she has a tendency to punch her surroundings, or on rarer occasions, other people. Over time, her punches have gotten rather strong and calculated, similar to a boxer. However, they have also earned her weekly therapy and the cruel nickname, 'Locomotion'.
 • Detail-Orientated
 • Bargaining - Wyatt is a member of the Archibald family. She knows there is nothing in the galaxy that money cannot buy, including the right to live. Given her financial status, and her less-than-stellar reputation, she has developed a knack for haggling and persuading others in order to get whatever she desires - even if other people don't like or necessarily trust her.
 • Avid Reader -
 • Vivid Imagination -

Character Relations: Always Open.

I've wanted to play the rich kid with anger management issues for a while now, so there you go. I have questions, a lot of them like usual. First and foremost, what was the economy like on Earth prior to 3050? Wyatt's family is rich, but not technologically inclined (that requires a level of intelligence that none of them have). Usually, I'd have her family fortune in oil mining, but because oil is a limited resource now, I don't think it makes sense for oil to exist in Earth 3000+. So I need a very useful and lucrative equivalent.

Also, I would love to hear feedback on Wyatt/her backstory. She's angry, but not mean. She's not going to go out of her way to fight someone, especially if they are visibly weaker than her. But she does love a challenge, and she's definitely destroyed a lot of public property on Midgard in her temper tantrums (I'm thinking she might have a reluctant Svartal BFF who routinely cleans up her messes without judgment). Also, if you guys are interested, her therapist and the main author of the books she reads can definitely be NPCs that I play. :)

I also made all of her skills things that should grow and develop throughout the chapters. For example, avid reader might lend her to reading manuals or mission documents. Or, her vivid imagination might lead her to out of the box tactical planning. Also, if any other character(s) want to teach her how to actually fight, and not just throw down like a boxer, I'd be totally up for that.

Oh! And for FCs, do you want art renderings only? Or real people too? 'Cause I have both. ;3

I'm also working on a character idea. Thinking an Alf wannabe Combat Medic with a strong will to aid others and vast amounts of empathy, though a little behind in terms of battle prowess. Would that sort of idea work?

Here's a sketch of a human recruit. Her name's Wyatt and she's got issues, but a lot of room to grow.

I keep things simple. If she wants to invest in energy that is something that will only keep creatively innovating. Her family would have had it easy boarding Midgard.

Also, I would love to hear feedback on Wyatt/her backstory. She's angry, but not mean. She's not going to go out of her way to fight someone, especially if they are visibly weaker than her. She needs to have something Norse in her name. This is a Norse-themed game.

Because this was such a sci-fi setting, I couldn't imagine people having FCs to match the theme. So people can freely just use whatever art that closely matches what they envision.

Full Name: Thor Aubrey Kincaid
Nickname(s): Tiny, Metal-Head, TAC(pronounced Taah-k)
Alias: (Soon to be)Pilot of Mjölnir
Age: 18
D.O.B.: 12-20-3052
Gender: Male
Race: Cybernetic Human
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Single
Height: 6'6
Weight: 300+lbs(Due to arms, legs, and spine augments)
Hair Color: He has a patch of  black and gold dreadlocks on the top of his head. Only the top of his head is dreaded; the rest is undercut and shaved low.
Eye Color: Thor's right eye is purple, while his left eye is red. Both have been replaced with cybernetic optics.
Occupation: New Recruit

General Description: Thor is tall; very tall at 6'6. Despite his parents both having, dark tanned skin, Thor's is somewhat pale due to having being born on Midgard, not Earth. He is heavily muscled from a lifetime of training under his parents to prepare him for when he joined the fleet. He's got quite a few tattoos, with barely any skin left. In fact, he has so much ink they had to make copies so the pattern could be reapplied after his cybernetic upgrades. Both arms and legs have been replaced with cybernetics and connected directly to his nerves so he can still experience sensations. Synthflesh and specially designed materials make the prosthetic's almost indistinguishable from normal flesh and bone. He has also had his spine reinforced to handle the strain of moving heavy loads. A portion of his brain has also been converted so he can hack systems. When not in uniform or his Valkyrie, he tends to dress "punky" if that's a good description. Jeans with tears in them, stenciled or customized shoes, denim vests with spikes and neon patches, etc... He has no problem dressing to the nines for the right occasion, but often likes to be as comfortable as possible.

Personality: Balder's something of a playful guy, despite his massive size and intimidation factor. He likes to joke around, make people laugh, play pranks, and generally anything that makes him and others smile. However, when it's time to get serious, he has no problem flipping that switch and turning from relaxed to tactical in a moment's notice. Even then, he still has somewhat of a sarcastic flare, but if you can't joke about life-threatening combat missions, then what's the point?

He's been told sometimes his humor gets a little dark, but he's been through some shit so meh. As he was born very well off, he has always hated seeing the less fortunate abused, and steps in to stop any incident he can help with. The big guy has to stick up for the little guy, right? He's a flirt, no skirting around that. Something of a lady killer, Balder simply loves the fairer sex. A good woman and a good time are the only things that can temporarily distract him from his otherwise unwavering duty and loyalty to the cause.

His dedication to Midgard, and his family name have pushed him to surrender his body to the cause, willingly undergoing cybernetic upgrades after a severe accident so he can be a better soldier and do his best at protecting his people.  There are times when he has flashbacks to the accident, or angry bouts when he realizes he's about half robot at this point. But they never last long as he always forces himself to remember that soldiers sacrifice...he just had to make his first one a little earlier than expected. During one of his surgeries, he had an epiphany, that if he was lucky enough to be alive after willfully staring death in the face to save innocent lives, then he should enjoy his own, no matter what state he was in. It was that moment that resulted in him mostly returning to his previous mentality before the accident.

Likes: Women(and most aspects that come with them), Music, Good Food, Adrenaline(anything to get it pumping), Fighting, Shooting things, blowing shit up, alcohol and certain types of drugs(was addicted to painkillers and cyber-stabilizers for a while), Good Friends.
Dislikes: Muspell, Surtr(Sheer hatred), bugs, Evil men, assholes, bullies, users and abusers, people who give up(because he was almost one, it strikes a sharp note)

Backstory: Back when Earth was still a thing, a young man by the name of Aubrey Kincaid joined the military. He fought and he fought and he fought, until he was just...tired. Aubrey settled down, had a family, lived life. A few years after retirement though, the itch found him and he ended up using a lot of savings, and taking out a few loans on a longshot. A Private Military Corporation owned, created, and operated by Aubrey. Due to having almost three decades of military service under his belt, and a shitload of connections and favors owed, it wasn't hard to get all the necessary things going. In under three years, the "Black Gate" PMC grew like wildfire.

Highly professional and courteous service, as well as the best soldiers money could buy quickly shot it to the tops of the private sector. So much so in fact that by the time Midgard was built, he had more than enough money to provide his family and several friends and their families safe passage. However, the man couldn't throw away his pride or his need to protect his planet. He stayed behind, becoming one of the first of the Valkyrie and fighting off the Muspell so the rest of humanity could live on. His name is still talked about to this day. Aubrey's son, Maurice, and his wife Alandra had a son in 2052 named Thor.

Maurice and Alandra had both been high ranking members of Black Gate; helping Aubrey run the company, and as such decided that since their son was going to join the Fleet when he grew up, they may as well prepare him. So from the time he could walk, he trained. Combat lessons, strategy, marksmanship. Everything a soldier would need to know, they crammed into him, knowing one day he would make them and his grandfather proud. His father always told him, "The name means nothing if you don't honor it". He said it all the time when they talked about Grandpa Aubrey and what he'd done. Once he got old enough to truly understand what his dad meant, Thor fell into it himself full-tilt.

He pushed himself in everything they taught him, made sure he got good grades in school, etc... He wanted to live up to the Kincaid name, and to make his grandfathers sacrifice wasn't in vain. To really make use of the chance he and his fellow Valkyr gave all of humanity when they sacrificed themselves to hold the line and let them escape Earth. Growing up he'd had the best schooling, and when he turned fourteen, he was enrolled in one of Midgard's top military academies to further prepare him for military life, Jotunheim Officer Academy, colloquially known as simply Jotunhueim or the "Hall of Giants". Not long before it was time for him to graduate, Thor was involved in a car accident. This was the defining moment that nearly ruined his life after almost ending it. He was walking home and out of nowhere a drunk driver swerved around the corner toward him and a small group of people crossing the street.

Almost everybody scattered but himself, and the mother with a two seat baby stroller and a toddler holding her hand being difficult. Without any hesitation, Thor scooped the child up into his mothers arms and pushed her out of the way. Then he pushed the stroller after them. Right as he took a step to move himself to safety, he felt more pain than he'd ever experienced and his world went black. He woke up in the hospital several weeks later and got perhaps the best and worst news possible. The driver had been caught, and would be charged to the fullest extent of the law for multiple counts of public endangerment, one count of vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, and more that he didn't really care about. And the family he'd saved stopped by from time to time to check on him. They'd become very close to his family after he nearly lost his life making sure they kept theirs. The bad news though hit so much harder. He would live, but he would never be the same. The damage to his body had been extensive, and they'd even had to keep him in a coma to perform the life saving surgery to piece his shattered bones and obliterated organs back together.

The doctors told him that at best, he might get back to a quarter of the functionality he once had, but he would never run, jump, or fight for Midgard like he'd wanted. The next few months were his lowest, and depression turned into hatred for the driver, then self-loathing for himself when he found it hard to be in the same room with the people he'd helped. Suicide crossed his mind more than once when he realized he'd gone from being one of the most physically capable  and nicest people he knew, to being too weak to throw something across the room and shatter in against a wall in a fit of rage, and that he'd become a miser who only wanted it all to end. When he was nearly about to tip over the edge, a blessing landed in his lap, and a friend of his families told his parents about some bleeding-edge cybernetics that had been seeing impressive approval ratings with users; mainly soldiers and heavy workers.

It was very expensive, but it would allow him to follow his dream and his families, and fight the Muspell.  It was a unanimous decision to get the surgery, and in a few short weeks he underwent the first of several operations to replace his shattered body with cybernetics. Both arms and legs were replaced, and his spine and skeletal structure were reinforced as well to handle the forces his body would be put under. Finally, he opted to have a portion of his brain cyberized, so he could take full advantage of his new body and the armor he soon hoped to be wearing. The surgery was a complete success, and Thor has spent the last year training harder than he ever has to get used to the cybernetics and how his new frame operates. Now, shortly after graduation, he has gotten used to his upgrades and is ready for the Awakening. He wants to follow in his grandfather's footsteps. He wants to be a Valkyrie.

Skills:

 • CQC - Thor was taught how to fight from a young age, and has been trained in multiple styles of melee combat and martial arts. Krav Maga, BJJ, MMA, and others just to name a few.
 • Tactics -  He has studied all the legendary strategists throughout history, as well as taken multiple leadership and strategy courses to prepare himself for life as a Valkyrie.
 • Marksmanship - Similar to everything else in his military-oriented lifestyle, Thor was given access to firearms and underwent a lifetime of training to make sure he was as prepared as possible for the front lines. He is a crack shot in a fight and maintains his calm so as to not effect his accuracy, even in high-intensity situations.
 • Parkour - One of the few things not related to combat, but still damn useful. Thor got it into his head at a young age that a highly mobile soldier would be far more effective than a clunky guy who could barely get around in his armor. He has trained in Parkour to train his body to move as quickly and efficiently as possible through any environment as a way to better his effectiveness in a fight.
 • Musician - While his hope and dream has always been to fight for humanity, Thor discovered he had a natural talent for music. He had a surprisingly pleasant singing voice, and taught himself to play guitar through online videos. He plays to escape from reality sometimes, or to help keep people around him in a good mood with some catchy tunes.

Character Relations:
Commander Odin - Lucas Odin and Aubrey Kincaid both served in the Navy together, going through hell and highwater until Aubrey's retirement from the military and entrance into the private sector. However, they remained good friends and Aubrey even gave the military(primarily Navy) huge discounts when it came to hiring out Black Gate for operations they themselves couldn't do or couldn't be seen doing. When Surtr arrived with the Muspell, Aubrey answered Odin's call and fought for him as a Valkyrie. While Aubrey died in combat, the two families had been close since the two men had been friends and brothers in arms, and have kept in close contact since, with even the contracts staying valid and them coming together from time to time for civilian get togethers and such. Thor looks up to Odin as a shining example of what a soldier and patriot is. He sees him as an uncle figure, and hopes to make him proud by becoming a Valkryie and carrying the Kincaid name into glory in the future. Thor is one of the few people who has seen what Odin actually looks like and isn't bothered by his new visage.

Vidar Siegfried Wagner - Will be fleshed out after they meet in-game(good friend and fellow enjoyer of life)

CS is complete. I may continue to tweak him.

Full Name: Vidar Siegfried Wagner
Nickname(s): Vid, Sieg, Fool - he prefers to go by his middle name Siegfried.
Alias: None yet.
Age: 23
D.O.B.: 13 November 3047. Scorpio.
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Single, and always interested.
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 192 lbs
Hair Color: Copper
Eye Color: Hazel
Occupation: New Recruit

General Description: Tall with a lean and cut build versus one broad and overweight with muscle. His complexion is a creamy beige and his hair is an odd brown color. In certain lighting, he appears to be a ginger. When he isn’t wearing the uniform, Sieg will often be found wearing comfortable clothing: T-shirts, basketball shorts, sweat pants, sneakers, tank top when he’s working out, sandals when he’s being lazy, hoodies and beanies. He does have nice, casual clothes for outings, but those are for special occasions and people. Sieg has bright eyes and a very approachable countenance. He seems like a friendly guy, and at times, he will wear a smirk of mischief. He has the fresh face of a new recruit.

Personality: Siegfried approaches challenges with a smile and shatters tension with a joke. No matter the dire situation, he always has a joke or wise-crack tucked away in his reserve like a spare magazine. He tries to be brave when others are nervous in order to give his team hope. When things get tough, he gets tougher, and he won’t give up on a test unless he is certain he can’t win. However, if he has a chance to defy fate, then he will.

The man is a risk-taker. He is even one romantically. He is called a big fool because he will try to get with women who are out of his league. He appreciates a lovely face and body, and with him, chivalry is not dead. He will try to be smooth with a woman he is interested in, throwing bait into the water and hoping they take it. The female recruits should watch out because he can’t be trusted!

Siegfried, while he likes challenges, if his heart isn’t into it, then he will lazily roll over and give up. He doesn’t like his time wasted, especially if there are better things he could do with his time—such as procrastinate on a test. He is a master procrastinator when it comes to things he’s not interested in. He has a lot of potential to be a smart guy, but he just spends his energy in the wrong places.

Likes: The three Bs: booze, boobs, and booty. He likes taking risks and so he is not against pranks or mischief. He is also a shameless flirt. He believes he has more game than he really does at times. He likes to train (got to look good for the babes); his favorite food is pizza; and he likes to observe nature (to include beautiful women in their simulated habitat).
Dislikes: Bullies, instigators, healthy pizza (blasphemy), weak-ass drinks, and sadistic bastards.

Backstory: Siegfried was born to Jessie and Rebecca Wagner in Alabama. He didn’t remember anything about The Great Exodus nor his parents. He hadn’t been born into a wealthy family and had only been a baby, handed to fortunate folks who had managed to board the ship when the doors were closing. His new foster family, Brandt and Chloe Larsen, raised him as though he were one of their own. That is…until he grew older. Siegfried was the adopted brother of Elof and Kari, both older than him. Both Elof and Kari took school seriously and often competed for honors, while Siegfried…he didn’t give a fuuu~ck. The boy was nonchalant and aloof. He always did what he wanted to do and scraped through school with Cs. The Larsens were always upset with him, calling him dumb and going on rants about how it was because he was adopted from a family of morons. Siegfried often argued with his family and would runaway only to be returned to them again and again by the cops. He kept planning his elaborate escapes even going as far to live in the basement of his friend, Nick. Nick’s sister discovered him, and he was sent back to his shit parents. Mr. Larsen had already decided Siegfried’s fate well before he even reached high school. As soon as he graduated he was out of the house, and he didn’t care where he went at that point. He was over 18 and legal.

Before that though…Siegfried stayed out late, hanging with his friends and smoking some cannabis that managed to make it to Midgard. The drug was expensive due to its scarcity in the colony. He and his friends hung out, messed with girls, and got wasted when they should have been studying for exams. Siegfried made it a habit to run from the Midgard Police when they attempted to bust their parties. Now, by the time Siegfried made it to graduation day, Mr. Larsen had had it up to his ears with Siegfried. There was no graduation celebration or gifts. Siegfried returned home to find his bags packed and waiting on the step for him. He was officially kicked out. Fuck’em.

Rather than try to scrape up money for an apartment, Siegfried went straight to the recruiting office. The recruiter laughed at his pitiful high school transcript and wanted to suggest he get a welding job in the civilian sector (thinking he was too stupid for the force). Siegfried made a 100-credit bet with the recruiter that he would pass the Valkyrie unit’s basic entry fitness test. Entertained, the recruiter accepted his bet and was actually impressed when Siegfried managed to pass by the skin of his teeth. Holding true to his word, the recruiter enlisted Siegfried into the force. He had zero faith that he would pass The Awakening, but he only cared about increasing his recruitment numbers. Siegfried moved into the Valkyrie barracks and has since started his new life as a recruit.

Skills:
 • Master Procrastinator
 • Hold his liquor
 • Comebacks
 • Okay, so he's just a fucking loser. Sue him.

Okay, I think she's all sorted now! May still add small details, but for right now she's good to go!

Valkyrie Recruit Nygard
Played by xPeachyPuff

○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
Full Name: Lovisa Seri Nygard
Nickname(s): Love, Lovi
Alias: N/A
Age: 19 Years Old
D.O.B.: 14th October. Libra.
Gender: Female
Race: Alf
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Single
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 120lbs
Hair Color: Pale Blonde
Eye Color: Vibrant, sky-blue
Occupation: New Recruit

General Description: Lovisa's build is petite, though not without its generous curves despite her height, and is on the slightly more athletic side of the spectrum, though not nearly as much as many of her fellow recruits and superiors. Her skin is pale and mostly unmarred, other than a strange tattoo running down the centre of the inside of her right forearm, cutting off just before her wrist. As expected of her race, her ears are elongated and pointed, extending around 4.5 inches in length. She holds herself quite meekly and insecurely, which can often be looked down upon as weak. When she's not in the standard uniform, Lovisa likes to wear feminine clothing such as floral dresses and playsuits, though is a big fan of experimenting with clothing and will try anything once...at least in her own company or rare occasions. Most of what she settles on wearing in public is less attention drawing and can be somewhat plain, though she hopes one day she can get over her anxiety and wear what she wants.

Personality: A little on the timid side, Lovisa can be fairly quiet and bashful when you first meet her. However, when you dig a little deeper, she'd a bubbly, expressive, albeit still doubtful and somewhat shy character with a curiosity and passion for others. She's a hard worker, determined, with a strong sense of empathy and commitment, often pushing herself beyond her limits for the betterment of herself and her comrades. Her empathy can sometimes be seen as a hindrance in the eyes of others, though she is a firm believer that it makes her not only a better person, but a better teammate. Lovisa can often be fairly sensitive, lingering on what has been said to her and letting it get to her, but she does her best to push past that and clear up any misunderstandings, even it it takes her a little more time than most to do so. Always the generous one, she's willing to go without if it means someone else is in a better state because of it, even willing to exhaust herself through healing if more than one of her comrades are in need. She's a protector at heart and even though she struggles with social interactions, shes driven to overcome her flaws and bring her dream of becoming a Valkyrie pilot to fruition.

Likes: Music, Dance, Romance Novels & Movies, Sweet Food, Plant-Life, Animals, Firearm Training (Even though she's not the best), Fruity Alcoholic Beverages (though she can't hold her drink)
Dislikes: Seeing Someone Injured, Sparring, Bitter Tastes, Being put on the spot, Too much attention, Overly critical people

Backstory: Their world was already on the brink of extinction when the humans came, thanks to what they would later learn was a mutual enemy; the Muspell. While a small semblance of their people remaining clinging to the crumbling rock beneath their feet, the Midgard came to relieve them of some of their troubles, allowing refugees aboard, sharing their wondrous stories and constructions with one another to build a fruitful, new, cross-species relationship born of generosity and cordiality. Lovisa was but a babe at the time the sky aliens with their rounded ears and their spaceship appeared on their home world, an orphan left without parents on a burning planet of ruins and ashes. She was in the care of a much older woman, Hilde Eklund, who was lucky enough to get the two of them aboard the Midgard before they continued their journey. Due to complications with her health, as well as the strenuous period of adjusting to such a new environment, Hilde passed away less than a year later, leaving Lovisa alone among a sea of unfamiliar aliens. She was placed into a permanent care facility of sorts; a residence where she could stay and be tended to by the humans there, though the majority of the other children simply spent their days 'visiting' while their parents worked. There were a couple of other children like her, ones that didn't have homes or parents to return to, but it was more akin to a day-care than an orphanage.

During her years within the children's centre, Lovisa was looked down on quite a bit due to her differences from the majority of the human children. They picked on her for her ears and other such things, as children do, but being the sensitive soul she was, Lovisa took it all to heart and it moulded her into the non-confrontational, insecure woman she would later become. That being said, she was always very bright and excelled in her studies, she was always offering to help those around her, even if they belittled her, and she always stood up for those in need. The Valkyrie Pilots were epic stories all the children were taught growing up, and it became a dream of hers to one day be able to aid the people of Midgard in such a way, as well as claim some justice for her people who fell at the Muspell's hands. With her innate healing abilities that only Alves seemed to be able to manifest, her expression of interest in the program and her determination, albeit hidden behind her general uncertainty, Lovisa was suggested for the military program and at the age of 16 began training there. It wasn't easy by any means and she certainly didn't match up to many of the expectations of those around her, but her willingness to learn, her perseverance and dedication, her ability to step up when one of her teammates were on the line and her ability to soothe even the fieriest of allies finally got her a recommendation to the Valkyrie program despite her lacking in physical and battle-ready prowess.

Skills:
 • Healing: Her innate healing abilities come in handy, and though extensive use of this can exhaust her, she is skilled in pushing beyond her limits for certain situations
 • First Aid/Medicine: Lovisa has learned a lot about conventional medicines and first aid, eclipsing all species that are currently aboard Midgard.
 • Dancing: Dance has always been something that accompanied good music, a hobby that has helped her calm herself and retreat to her own little world for some much needed R&R on occasion. Alves are naturally very graceful and her ability to seemingly absorb music and manipulate it with her body is a few steps away from being magical.
 • Flexibility: Despite her lacking physical prowess, Lovisa is very flexible and is able to get herself into tight spaces very easily.
 • Studious: Having always excelled in written and mental work, Lovisa is extremely bright and enjoys studying in general. She easily picks things up in this regard, and can conceive more than most think from simply looking at her.

Yes to that first thing, and I noticed. Instead of just dumping the whole thing I'm editing it as I go to get it up to snuff.
I'll probably get a connection to Siegfried up when I finish the edits.

Wired - Like Throne said, the family could be energy barons of a sort, or her family could have provided the tools or something that helped discover the supermetal that the scientists have been using to upgrade the Valkyrie.

Throne - Do you want Sieg and Thor to have met when they were younger like kids/teens, or at the academy?

They are just starting Valkyrie training. They would have to meet in Chapter One.

I finished my wip.

Poor Lovisa, while she will be greatly protected, Siegfried will flirt with her a lot.

Hahaha, I can't wait to see her reaction.

There's another facet of Sieg and Thor's relationship right there. They both love basically any and all women(with exceptions) and will probably end up competing for a few lol.

I'm cool with them rooming together and taking the bottom bunk. That'll just make it easier when he has to pee at night. Sieg's gonna wish he had his own cybernetics when he gets tired of climbing up and down that ladder all boot camp lol.

Also I finished him up.

And I think Lovi will enjoy being around humans who pretty much give no shit what race(color or species) she is because she's pretty and competent...like any sane person should be lol.

Nah. I changed my mind. They won't live the bay life. They will have separate rooms and share a common area (pod). They are a step above the regular forces.

Therefore, I'll be pairing up characters as they join or if the players have a preference.

For sure! She doesn't believe that all humans are like that, but it has definitely has some lasting effects on her. I'm looking forward to seeing them all interact :D

So, no shared rooms but all of our recruits will share a common space? Or do you mean it will be two characters to a common space with separate rooms? I think I've confused myself x'D

Also I think my girl is good to go now. May still add some small details here and there but otherwise, she's pretty finished. Any feedback or edits I need to make, just let me know!
