In the far flung future Earth stands on the brink of destruction. It has been over 1000 years since human's finally found another habitable planet in the thousands of of solar systems in the gallery's. Along the way they have met many different races, some friendly, some not so. However as Earth Mark π celebrates its 1000th birthday a new threat has emerged and this one not only seeks to create a war on Earth but a war that will spread and destroy every planet in every solid system. Through history Earth has always had countries that ally together and this is no exception, however hidden in ancient files with more lines whited out they readable there are notes of a team.  A team who's unique skills and attributes might just save the world's.

Loosely based on the movie League of extraordinary Gentleman.

Idea is that MC who will lead the group will have come looking for yours, having heard rumors, seen reports and so on. If you've seen the movie then you know these people aren't just scientist, thief's, doctors but vampires, invisible men, immortals and so on.

Would be interested in knowing how close to the actual set up for the League you would be going? All League members are, or are related to, famous characters from literature. Since this is so far in the future, the only options for those would be future based characters or descendants of famous characters. Or are you wanting to go completely OC with all the characters? Also, most League characters have extremely questionable morals. They, for the most part, aren't entirely willing in doing what they are doing and are usually offered to have their criminal records cleaned in exchange for their work. Would that be the case here or is it more up for grabs the reason they choose to join? Basically, how close to the theme and idea of the actual League are you wanting to get?

I'm looking for the more traditional type character, so ones based on famous characters from books or descendants of famous characters would be fine. Some of the original character types could work like Mrs Harker :)

Oh gosh this is no group of supers we have here! The reasons they join can be their own...I do hope for a bit of variety.

Thank you for answering. I will say that I prefer Mina from the comics to her movie adaption. She wasn't a vampire and she was just an ordinary woman with a strong presence and personality. I felt like it made her more interesting. More like a true extension of her Dracula character.

I do have an idea for a descendant of Dr. Jekyll (though more of Mr. Hyde since he was more prone to women than Jekyll was). I'll wait to see what other sorts of people put down for character ideas.

Thank you, again. ^_^

Hmmm... I've always wanted to play Ayesha from She. And she could definitely still be alive and kicking.

Ok, so...question. Presumably, supernatural creatures are allowed. Do they HAVE to be based on literary characters? Or can it be - for lack of a better term - an "OC." EG, I don't want to play a specific literary Vampire, I just want to play a Vampire. Or for example, I want to play a Succubus who isn't from a pre existing book or movie? How much freedom do we have here?

Men in general judge more by the sense of sight than by that of touch, because everyone can see but few can test by feeling. Everyone sees what you seem to be, few know what you really are; and those few do not dare take a stand against the general opinion. Therefore it is unnecessary to have all the qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

Hey Vergil.

The easy answer is not really.

Are supernatural charactera allowed - Yes.
Are generic supernatural characters allowed- No

As mentioned earlier if you based you characters from the comic and not the movie then not all the characters are supernatural just extremely talented.

To keep true to the base line of the legue I would like the characters to be based on literary characters.

Ah, ok. In which case, the character type that I wanted to play doesn't really have a literary equivalent that I'm aware of, so I'll have to give this one a miss. Good luck though!

What was it? Maybe someone else knows of one.

Oh, I highly, highly doubt it. The character I'm trying to find a game for right now is a seductive Femboy :P I was thinking of making him an Incubus or something in that vein, have his whole schtick being persuasion and seduction and smooth talking and stuff. As far as I know, that doesn't fit any well known or famous literary characters xD

Why not the descendant of an existing literary creature like that? The League comics are full of highly sexual, gender swapping, magical beings.

Honoré de Balzac's early 1800s short story "The Succubus" concerns a 1271 trial of a she-devil succubus in the guise of a woman, who, amongst other things, could use her hair to entangle victims. What if she had a child with one of her victims and that is where your character comes from?

Thomas Middleton's 1605 play A Mad World, My Masters, the philandering Master Penitent Brothel is tempted by a succubus assuming the form of his illicit partner, using song and dance in a failed attempt to seduce him. Same thing?

Kenneth Rayner Johnson's 1979 novel, The Succubus, outlines the story of a male afflicted by the incarnation of the demon Lilith. You could be the man afflicted with the demon Lilith.

Vergil Tanner

Those are certainly good ideas, though my reading was that Levi wants characters specifically based off of literary characters. If she'd allow descendants of those characters, then I might well jump in. So it would depend on what Levi says about the characters not being those literary characters, but related to them. :-)

Here is fine, I just noticed some spell errors on the code and added Skills/Talents.

That would be who the characters are based on. I.e. Dr Jekyll, Dracula.

There's no place to talk about their powers, do we put it in the description?

That being said, I am making a vampire so i wanted to talk about her powers (Hypnosis, grow long nails, can hide her fangs)? Is this okay?
