Character Name: Aishah Dominique
Also Has Answered To:
Character Species: Human
Character Gender: Female

Basic Description:
Aishah is young petty officer in training. Just out of the academy, she has her youthful attitude and her physical beauty to help her on this quest for her destiny.

Aishah is 5´2 and quite slim. Her blond hait is natural, as is most things about her. She comes from isolated colony, that believes in engineered evolution and by that reason, her genetic markers have been changed. She can emit pheromones to lower the inhibitions and strength of will from those around her, as her family was traders and merchants, they deemed it would work wonders on that trade.

Intended Rank: Doctor's assistant
Intended Role: Enlisted (Medical)

Brief Bio:
Aishah was born under the strange phenomena, as the colony was bombarded by gamma radiation, that was produced by star forming singularity. The colony was forced to move, and from there, her family toke up on mechant trade, selling their genetic and medical expertise around the vastness of space.

After years of traveling among the stars, Aishah got an opportunity to join the Fleet Academy, cause her off the charts test results on medical field and cultural knowledge's.

During the years in the academy, her first mission was one of the first contact ones and she played large part on it, as she actually had encountered spin-off of the race before and knew their language and customs.

Year after that, her first assignment as enlisted crewman she was along an
away team as an medic, but they were ambushed by local predatory beast, and commander of the mission was mutilated and she had to step up and by sheer willpower and inspiring actions, they all made out alive.

Commander McFaddon is approved.

PO1 Dominique is not.

Starfleet is like the modern military with two groups: enlisted and officers. The Academy and its numerous branches scattered throughout the Federation train potential officers, while the enlisted travel to either a local training facility or, if they are local to the Sol system, would visit the Technical Training Center on Mars. Basically it's a boot camp where you learn the basics such as discipline and naval terminology and things of that nature. Here's a handy documentary in case you're curious what you'd be doing and learning while there. https://youtu.be/pDwLsrmDBF0

Also an enlisted crewman would start off as an E-1 Recruit. A Petty Officer 1st class is an E-5. If you look starting on page 11 of the handbook, all the applicable ranks are listed :) If you want to start the game as an E-5, you would've reenlisted at least three times, with each stint being approximately 4 years or so. If you enlisted at the age of 18, you would've reenlisted at 22, 26, and 30.

Another option is instead of being an E-1, begin the game as an E-9. E-9's are Warrant Officers, and are between Enlisted and Officers. They are civilians who have specialized knowledge, which includes medicine but also engineering and other specialized disciplines, who are not commissioned officers but are still treated as enlisted, though they are the highest rank enlisted possible so they get to boss around anyone enlisted under them. A Warrant Officer would be constantly moved around based on their specialization, so my recommendation based on your profile would be a trader and doctor who offered assistance to Starfleet and became a Warrant Officer assigned to the Avenger because of your familiarity with the Triangle Region. Just a thought.

Just fix these two issues and you'll be good to go hon :)

Im good with E-1, but the rank (PO1) was given by the Star Trek char builder... so... hmm..

but which ever seems good. (beckground /trader/ was also from the char builder...as I toke "roll for X" everytime when possible), ship position and "career" aswell, all rolled by the program :)

GloomCookie

Yeah Star Trek is weird because of its older history conflicting with how things really work. For example, someone tossed in there being no money in the future so everyone's bent over backwards for it, or the line that "everyone's an officer" which makes NO sense. It's just... so stupid.

This is why I rewrote much of the Lore myself to eliminate brain bugs like the above examples.

I'd like to make a Denebolan science officer if that spots still open.

Character Name: Natala
Character Species: Denobulan
Character Gender: Female
Basic Description:  An inquisitive and eager young officer.  She is bubbly and bright, and does her duty with almost constant fascination.  She talks way too much is sometimes easily distracted from her duties. She has a very different concept of privacy then humans, and is prone to sharing too much of her personal life, and trying to find out of the personal lives of those she works with.
Intended Rank: Lieutenant
Intended Role: Chief Science Officer
Brief Bio:
Born on Denobula into a large family, three of her her four parents were environmental activists who championed new methods of environmental recovery.   Being the 12th of 13 children, she felt like she was often overlooked in favor of her older siblings.

Perhaps as a way of standing out from her siblings, she joined Starfleet, being the first of her considerably large family to do so.  She nearly washed out three times, finding the strength thanks to her old friend from home.  Shortly after graduation they married and she served aboard her first vessel, the USS Nelson.

Towards the end of her time aboard the Nelson, she was chosen to lead a long-term first contact team, and spent a year enjoying the hospitality of the native Qohorians.  When she returned home, she was awarded a commendation for emplacement of a long-term plan to reduce the pollution damage that had been done.

Upon her return, she spent a few months on Denobula with her husband.  They have decided to delay starting a family until they can find a husband and a wife to add to their relationship so their children can have a traditional nuclear family.

She has accepted a transfer to the USS Avenger where she's to serve as the science officer.

      Talent:
CULTURAL FLEXIBILITY
Your people are friendly, patient, and inquisitive, and you exemplify these traits. You are at ease when meeting new cultures, and adapt to unfamiliar social  structures easily. When you attempt a Task to learn about an unfamiliar culture, or to act in an appropriate manner when interacting with members of such a
culture, you reduce the Difficulty by 1.
COMPUTER EXPERTISE
Whenever you attempt a Task that involves the programming or study of a computer system, you may add a bonus d20 to
your pool.
CAUTION
You must choose a single Discipline when you select this Talent. Whenever you attempt a Task with that Discipline, and you buy one or more d20s by spending Momentum, you may re-roll a single d20. You may select this Talent multiple times, once for each Discipline. You may not select this Talent for any Discipline for which you already have the Bold Talent.
EXPEDITION EXPERT
Prior to participating in an away team mission, the character may prepare by conducting a research Task. If they  succeed, Momentum may be spent to allow the character to substitute their Science Discipline in place of any other, during any Task to navigate or transverse difficult terrain during the mission. Each point of Momentum spent from the research Task in this way allows for one such substitution.

So am I approved to begin posting?  Just double checking.

evilnerf

Tried my hand at photoshop.  It's real bad, but I think it gets the point across okay.

BlackStone

I must remember the Captain does not sleep with his crew...

Unless its from Orion.  Can we be from Orion, please?

GloomCookie

*throws a tennis ball at Blackstone* No Orions. Until you run into them at the Turnstile.

There's actually two sets of plans. One is the Miranda, the other the Avenger. Only the name is different, and that's because originally it was the Avenger class before Roddenberry said they wouldn't use such an aggressive name, so they went with the Miranda class.

BlackStone

I like the Miranda.  In the ToS timeframe she was one hell of a ship.

Captain America

Yeah I should say the prints are from FASA material not necessarily "cannon" material. I wanted to stick to Gloom's stated material as best as I could search. Granted I have not seen FASA book blueprints myself so I cannot confirm with a primary source :D

Also, on my post (oncoming) I am visiting the interesting spots of the ship. So if anyone feels they want some posting between me and they, let me know. Otherwise assume I meet the doc, report to the CO if we had not done that in the past at some point, check security, engineering, etc etc.  I'm pretty easy going on that.

Well, here's the thing.  The Avenger class isn't even in the FASA stuff (at least it's not in the FASA stuff I have).  In the FASA stuff I have the Miranda class is named the Reliant-class.

I've found passing references to a book called "Ships of Starfleet"published by Mastercom Data Center.  And I think that might be where the name comes from, but I don't have this book and can't find much info about it.   Memory Alpha lists the book in it's "Unauthorized" section, so I don't think it's even beta, or FASA canon.

What are we using for the spaceframe stats?  Just going with the stuff for the Miranda?  Should we talk about it's mechanical traits, or have those already been figured out?

Captain America

Some traits are listed in the PDF that Gloom made. Towards the end.
