The World We Left Behind (Zombie Survival Game)

The year is 24 AO.

It’s been 24 years since Outbreak day, 24 years since the zombie horde rose and the old world died. We can only guess at the numbers but through talks with our allies on the radio we can guesstimate that only one percent of the human population survived the zombie horde. How could anyone have been prepared? To see that fictional enemy surface and attack with such ruthlessness. It’s still not known where it all began and the chances of us ever finding out is minor. People don’t even care about that aspect of our survival any more.

We’re done with the how and why.

We can only focus on what’s next. Now that the never-ending army of infected have lessened. It’s taken us so much but we’ve finally emerged from the worst of it.  We’ve made things manageable, not finished but manageable. Hope, nowadays we have more than those during the dark years could have imagined.

Most of us took to the seas to wait out the worse. Boats and yachts that would keep us away from the infected. Of course those ships came with a greater risk as well. ONE infected could turn a ship faster than anything else. There were some loses of course… some mistakes made that happened in the early days. Eventually however we figured it out and created the Coalition Fleet.

Ten ships, each representing a different “seat” of government. Floating nations working together while the rest of the world struggled on land. Not everyone was so lucky but those that became part of our coalition worked together to make humanity’s best chance of survival into a viable option. It worked to…

At least for a while.

We now face the threat of over population. Simply put there is not enough ROOM. Every boat added to the CF is fought over because of this.

Which brings us to Project Rebirth.

This will be our fifth iteration of Project Rebirth. On paper the goal of the project is relatively simple. To make landfall in the United States and create a self-sustaining colony. Ideally this colony will be a harbor colony, so that way the CF can dock for needed repairs and supplies. America has been picked as the most viable options with several towns designated as prime colony spots as well. Our best attempts so far have failed for reasons ranging from infected to bandits and even sheer stupidity.

The CF must have a win here.

If you are attending this meeting than you are colonist. You’ve been chosen from across the CF for your skills. You’ve been given the special designation of colonist and elected by your nation to work on this project. Agricultural, technical, or combat skills  are supremely needed for this mission, so if you’ve been chosen it is because you bring something to Project Rebirth that no one else in the CF can.

You will work with other Colonist, you will establish a footing on land, and you’ll help lead us into this new age. The people in the CF are counting on you to do this.

Hello all! Thank you for taking the time to read this! If you’ve gotten this far and you’re still interested! Welcome to my latest little project and let me break down the basics!







What’s this game about?

This game is set 24 years after a zombie outbreak. The 24 AO is the 24th year After Outbreak. The details of the initial infection have long since been lost and NOT the focus of the game. The infected are an everyday part of life (and worry) and no one is really trying to cure them anymore.

Instead the game is focused on the colony/reestablishing society vein. The floating ships where “government” still reside are stretched to their limits. The CF need to expand and wish to do that in America.

They’ve tried this before (Four Times) and hope this time will be different. The ten main ships all represent a nation and the “colonist” will be chosen from those ships. What that means is any nationality is on the table.

There will be a mayor of the colony (my character) who will be the overall in charge of the mission. The first mission will involve making landfall and clearing the spot their going to use of Zombies. Then the missions will focus on sandbox exploration/ building/ defending as they try to turn the area into a thriving colony.







FAQ



Is this a system game?



No it’s not, the issues we run into will run the gambit. You can expect everything from bandits, to resources being tight, and yes even zombies. The situations will be tense but manageable if the colonist keep their head.



Can I play A Bandit?



At this time now, you can however play a “spy” someone sent from your nation to make it work but also secure interest for your nationality IE Russia or America



Smut/Story Ratio?



I except a healthy mix of both. Later as the colony grows ever more stable the CF might ask for repopulation.

Nowadays he's rarely without his black tactical gear. However the end of the world was no excuse for a lack of style in his opinion. So when he's not kitted up he's wearing one of his usual tailored suits. He prefers to dress impeccably no matter where he is.

Much like the legend, Bond fills all the standard personality ticks from the titular character. He's rather ruthless, goal oriented, and often unconventional in his approach to tasks. He's also a big time drinker and womanizer.He cares deeply for his country and though this is a multi national endeavor is looking to secure Britain as the leaders of this new world.


Biography

Strange as it sounded, the works of Ian Fleming "bond" led to the birth of the Double O program within MI6. This program was pretty straightforward and almost a carbon copy of the program within the books. A "License to kill" those who would see Britain hurt or worse.

Those in charge went all in on the program. People employed within this program were given the same designation and 007 was Bond. To everyone surprise this tact worked, and "James Bond" became the government's greatest secret weapon against acts of terrorism. There have been at least four Bonds, and they've all eventually died a horrible death at the hands of the person who got the better of them.

Isaac is the latest, pulled from what remained of British Special Forces after the outbreak. Most of his missions have involved routing out traitors within the British Ship. Other than that he's been on a few missions back to infected London to procure information MI6 still needed. Within the entire CF he is the one who has logged the most combat hours against the infected. For that reason alone the British government lobbied that he be the new commander.

There's no real place for fancy gadgets in a zombie apocalypse... that being said he's known to carry a special watch that releases a sonic pulse. This sonic pulse attracts zombies within a ten mile radius to the watch.

Personality


Adachi is an honorable man who speaks passionately about his job and his task within the colony. He is loyal to Chinese Government above anything else and acts as their eyes and ears. Aside from that, he lives and embodies the Bushi code of the samurai. He is spiritual in that regard and holds strong to his convictions. He rarely relaxes and instead is always quick to offer his services and help within the colony.



Biography

The how and why of the matter has never been clear. Some say he was a Yakuza hitman, while others say he trained as an Assassin in a secret monastery dedicated to such things. Rumors of his origins and training run the gambit but he's never confirmed nor denied anything. The only thing officially known about him is that he's highly distinguished within Chinese intelligence for his abilities. He's primarily used or was used as a scout, someone to slip behind enemy lines and get intelligence or cause chaos.

He's been chosen for this mission to fulfill a very specific task. He's to act as the colony's scout. Going out beyond the safe walls of the colony to find targets of interest and things the colony needs.

     Ooh, I wanna play a Russian carpenter/mechanic. Tall, strong, and female. 26 years old, she had been two when the Outbreak had occurred. Her name was lost to the ages as she was collected by a kind kinsman. She was dubbed Anna, but as she grew, she chose Atilla. She needed to be strong as on ship she was often pushed into close quarters with men, strong men who didn't always take no for an answer. Her adopted father had been a wrestler, powerfully built, but lacking true skills to be useful as anything more than a fighter. He sought the skills of construction and mechanical repair. As her strength grew she found herself being asked to help with mechanic and carpentry duties. These skills she took to heart, though she found that her strength was also sought to be able to take down the zombies. She thought that these would be good skills as well, though she was only ok with the guns, she preferred the greater control she had from her 42" wrecking bar, 30" long handled wrench, or 12 lb sledge.

      Her first plan is to establish a wall, funnel points to channel the incoming troubles to kill yards, and control points. layers of defense. She suggested Galveston, and various coastal islands. This would give them a foothold and crop land. Though the coast surrounding the island gave 180 degree threat from Z's washing ashore. Though this would also give them a sheltered dock for the ships.

Tall with a little bit of stomach pudge and touching thighs, she is mostly in shape for a hacker who spends most of her time behind a screen or digging for tiny parts or fixing her drone. Her fingers show wear from digging through small machine parts and working with them.

Personality: Serenity prefers to be lighthearted, the world is odd, in shambles, and everyone has a million reasons to be depressed, so why add to it? She tries her hardest to bring a smile to peoples faces, which leads to her often making a fool of herself. Unless you really know Serenity, one might think she was actually a ditz with no brains in her head as she does speak and act stupidly. Once you do get to know her though, she is actually a wiz at computers, technology, and minor repairs of previous technology. She has even made a few little "pets" she keeps in her back pack or pockets. Overly odd and with a goofy smile on her face, she is excitable and tries to be the ray of sunshine in every ones life. However, she has no real experience with males, she only got her first kiss by accident and the last time she tried to be sexual she giggled nervously and he took offense to it.




Biography: Serenity was raised by her father, her mother died before zombies by only a few months. Her father, Stephan, somehow survived with a new born thanks to his old gang members that mostly raised Serenity even to this day. Not many know that her father and the small group that come on with them were actually from a gang as they decided to let that all die just as most of the thoughts of the human race. Stephan taught her to trust what she was good at, never take anything as no one gives anything for nothing, and more importantly; how to use a gun and raptor claws in a fight.

When she was a young teenager, she found a love for technology. Stephan didn't understand it, but was happy to support her in whatever she was good at. Letting her grow, she joined a small group of people who taught her anything and everything about computers, hacking, technology, how to build technology and how to fix anything she may come in contact with. Like a sponge, she soaked it all up and quickly started to become the best technologist in the United States ship. Even working to make some cell phones work, at least turning on and playing some games on them.

At 17, she created Pygmy, her little drone that she equipped with a camera and sharpened blades that could cut through almost anything. She spent most of her time working on Pygmy and learning how to code better. Boys were not really a blip on her radar and that's how her father liked it. While he did push for her looking for a boyfriend from 19-21, he let her be when he realized she was nothing like what he was used to from females and let her be. Constantly supporting her and giving her this odd look as she seemed to grow into her mothers twin.

Equipment: Her drone, the cell phone she turned into her controller for the drone, a kit to keep her Pygmy in the air and fix or at least get into any technical machine, a bit of oil, gas, and lubricant (again for technical machines), a filter as you drink canteen, a first aid kit, her glock, and a sling shot she is just learning how to use accurately.

Skills: Anything technology, from fixing cell phones to moving around electricity to small robotics. She does know how to do a bit of electrician work as well as basic wiring. Because of her fathers past, she does also know a little bit about guns like how to pull them apart, clean them, and put them back together. A finer skill that may not be as useful on the outside is that she is a great hacker and knows some minor cooking.

Quick wit and a powerful build often kept her safer than her father’s wrestling teachings, she had used those a time or two also, though she was smarter than to try using the flashy wrestling moves with anything undead. .

       Her adopted father had been a wrestler, powerfully built, but lacking true skills to be useful as anything more than a fighter. He sought the skills of construction and mechanical repair. As her strength grew she found herself being asked to help with mechanic and carpentry duties. These skills she took to heart, though she found that her strength was also sought to be able to take down the zombies. She thought that these would be good skills as well, though she was only ok with the guns, she preferred the greater control she had from her 42" wrecking bar, 30" long handled wrench, or 32” 8lb sledge.

Personality

      Raised among the rough and tumble construction and mechanics crews of the Russian fuel tanker, which had become the Russian peoples housing as the fuel tank emptied. She is quick witted, with an acidic wit able to burn the hardest humor. Though she prefers to bounce joyfully through her day as she looks down upon those she works with. She understands that the guys look at her breasts a lot, but when they are between your eyes and theirs, what other landscape have they to work with.


Biography
     A two year old gathered by a fellow Russian, her new father, a wrestler of the professional entertainment league, they snuck place to place after the Outbreak. Finding themselves on the docks Vladislav tossed her to the crew of a tug, one that allowed him aboard as they pushed the cruise ship from the docks. Unfortunately the cruise ship was overcome before dawn, apparently one of the bitten had made it aboard. The tug had been following, but none of those that leaped from the ship were allowed onboard, though most didn’t survive the fall.

      She was raised on the flotilla bearing three Russian craft including their tug, a french cargo transport, a Portuguese fishing vessel and a Russian military fuel tanker. A thousand days passed as they survived in the sun and sea, though the food issues were met by the fishing vessel, russian MREs, and scavenged food. They had tried to raise gardens on the fuel tanker’s deck, though the first storm that hit the flotilla washed their crop away.

     After a year and three months, the self-sustaining ships found that they were actually beginning to prosper. They had what others needed, space, and food. They found themselves strengthened as they joined the CF, for now there were more ships and people to defend them, and they were able to offer needed skills and craft.

     Vladislav began learning how to build and repair things, his strength offered him the necessary entry as others always needed a helping hand. Seeing how the sailors looked to the women of the various craft, Vladislav taught his daughter of wrestling and fighting, though it was an undisciplined style, but a punch is a punch, a kick is a kick. She hung near him and learned the technical aspects of building, supporting and repairing structures and machines. She grew tall, strong, and knowledgeable. Aside from the first mission which is the one involving clearing the colony site of any lingering zombies this will be a sandbox game.

General Appearance:
Blonde, buxom, and happy, her cheeks held laugh lines and joy. Strength flowed in those arms, back and legs. A powerful and shapely ass and thighs draw as many eyes as her height and strength could turn away.




Personality and History
      Her name was lost to the ages as she was collected by a kind kinsman. She was dubbed Anna, but as she grew, she chose Atilla. She needed to be strong as on ship she was often pushed into close quarters with men, strong men who didn't always take no for an answer. Quick wit and a powerful build often kept her safer than her father’s wrestling teachings, she had used those a time or two also, though she was smarter than to try using the flashy wrestling moves with anything undead. .

       Her adopted father had been a wrestler, powerfully built, but lacking true skills to be useful as anything more than a fighter. He sought the skills of construction and mechanical repair. As her strength grew she found herself being asked to help with mechanic and carpentry duties. These skills she took to heart, though she found that her strength was also sought to be able to take down the zombies. She thought that these would be good skills as well, though she was only ok with the guns, she preferred the greater control she had from her 42" wrecking bar, 30" long handled wrench, or 32” 8lb sledge.

      Her first plan is to establish a wall, funnel points to channel the incoming troubles to kill yards, and control points. layers of defense. She suggested Galveston, and various coastal islands. This would give them a foothold and crop land. Though the coast surrounding the island gave 180 degree threat from Z's washing ashore. Though this would also give them a sheltered dock for the ships.



Personality

      Raised among the rough and tumble construction and mechanics crews of the Russian fuel tanker, which had become the Russian peoples housing as the fuel tank emptied. She is quick witted, with an acidic wit able to burn the hardest humor. Though she prefers to bounce joyfully through her day as she looks down upon those she works with. She understands that the guys look at her breasts a lot, but when they are between your eyes and theirs, what other landscape have they to work with.


Biography
     A two year old gathered by a fellow Russian, her new father, a wrestler of the professional entertainment league, they snuck place to place after the Outbreak. Finding themselves on the docks Vladislav tossed her to the crew of a tug, one that allowed him aboard as they pushed the cruise ship from the docks. Unfortunately the cruise ship was overcome before dawn, apparently one of the bitten had made it aboard. The tug had been following, but none of those that leaped from the ship were allowed onboard, though most didn’t survive the fall.

      She was raised on the flotilla bearing three Russian craft including their tug, a french cargo transport, a Portuguese fishing vessel and a Russian military fuel tanker. A thousand days passed as they survived in the sun and sea, though the food issues were met by the fishing vessel, russian MREs, and scavenged food. They had tried to raise gardens on the fuel tanker’s deck, though the first storm that hit the flotilla washed their crop away.

     Vladislav began learning how to build and repair things, his strength offered him the necessary entry as others always needed a helping hand. Seeing how the sailors looked to the women of the various craft, Vladislav taught his daughter of wrestling and fighting, though it was an undisciplined style, but a punch is a punch, a kick is a kick. She hung near him and learned the technical aspects of building, supporting and repairing structures and machines. She grew tall, strong, and knowledgeable. This is approved though there are some caveats

At some point with the 24 years they would have joined the CF and the international fleets. IE Russia is part of this collection of floating countries and has it's own seat of power and everything. At this point everyone who is a colonist is coming from the ships and CF.

     Caveats made, they entered after successfully surviving for over a year, they entered from a strong footing, able to provide food, fuel, and living space. That said, old prejudice and former perceptions quickly put the Russian, French, and Portuguese consolidated under the Russian seat into a significantly lesser importance. As their nations were weaker internationally before the Outbreak, the prejudice still puts them in the weaker seat.

How is everyone doing? Looking forward to this game, what kind of kick-off schedule and posting rate are we looking for in this game? I can often do three to five posts a week with the opportunity for more sporadically in bursts.

Right now it's more of a wait for people! I have high hope for the game! want to make sure we get enough men and women for the colony!
