Procuring or pandering is the facilitation or provision of a prostitute or sex worker in the arrangement of a sex act with a customer. A procurer, colloquially called a pimp (if male) or a madam (if female), is an agent for prostitutes who collects part of their earnings. The procurer may receive this money in return for advertising services, physical protection, or for providing, and possibly monopolizing, a location where the prostitute may engage clients. Like prostitution, the legality of certain actions of a madam or a pimp vary from one region to the next.

Examples of procuring include:
-trafficking a person into a country for the purpose of soliciting sex
-operating a prostitution business
-transporting a prostitute to the location of their arrangement
-deriving financial gain from the prostitution of another

              So what does Pimping have to do with me and how do I sign up? Is what you're probably asking yourself.  It's not as easy as you think. Pimping is hard work (counting money, dealing with difficult clients, rival pimps,  errant employees, etc ), either you're born in the game or you aren't. It's that simple. Interpersonal and management skills are must haves. Above all, a madam or pimp has to keep their pimp game strong. Effectively guiding and motivating their workers to their productive potential. Contrary to popular belief, all pimps are not the same, there are pimps who barely fit the notion of what a pimp is suppose to embody according to "the rules of the game" , and there are pimps who look and play the part, the nuances of these differences I will discuss in detail further along. Simply put, this experience is about what kind of madam, pimp or prostitute you want to be within the sex market. All types are encouraged, and welcomed. So whether you're Hugh Hefner or the square down the lane , or something (else) or in between...there's something for you here.

Generally speaking, pimps fall into three different categories defined by how they approach their talent: Gorilla Pimp, Romeo Pimp, and CEO pimp, according to Sowers Education Group. However, this definition can probably be expanded to include 4 or 5 groups, depending on their function (mileage will vary) . We'll start with the most renown  example in current popular media, the gorilla pimp.

1. Gorilla Pimps

Gorilla pimps (also called Godzilla pimps) are identified by the use of force and physical abuse unleashed on their victim. They typically use kidnapping, violence, drugs, and blackmail to control and subdue.

2. Romeo Pimp

Romeo pimps use sweet talk, compliments, gifts, and romance to attract a victim.
Target Prey—Romeo pimps typically target young girls looking for love and acceptance, runaways in need of shelter and protection, or those naïve and trusting who believe the lies the Romeo pimp tells them.

Who to Watch for—“Guys who fall in love too quickly, guys or girls (recruiters) who encourage teens to run away from home, promising a happier life,” according to Sowers Education Group.



3. CEO Pimps

CEO pimps approach sexual exploitation and prostitution as a business, the buying and selling of human beings as a transaction and their victims as property.

Target Prey—CEO pimps look for potential victims who are looking for a career in acting or modeling, especially naïve young women away from home.

4. Hollywood Pimps



Not to be mistaken for CEO pimps. Hollywood pimps primarily operate in the fashion, film and art industry. Monetary gain may not be the "end game' for a Hollywood pimp.  You can imagine that they derive a certain satisfaction in "making stars". As the saying goes. "Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul. ...





5. Anti-Pimp/Unorthodox Pimps

If such a thing exist, they would occupy a space entirely of their own. They don't follow "the rules" so to speak. Or perhaps they are pimps in a sense, but opposing certain aspects of the "culture" in another. I.E. A pimp who identifies as a feminist or egalitarian. Or a pimp who occupies a position one wouldn't usually expect. A kind of unconventional pimp. A pimp who isn't a pimp by blood or relation, but of circumstances.

Monterris is a very astute guy, prior to making pimping his full-time commitment, he worked in Corporate America for some time. He understands people, he understands the world in which he operates, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty if necessary, but he prefers a diplomatic approach. Monterris possesses a sort of natural magnetism that draws people from all corners. He has friends across the spectrum from Wallstreet to The Bluff.

I was leaning towards it being the latter (North, South, East and West, but also divisions based on philosophical approach. The Gorilla's vs the CEOs vs the Romeos, etc,   factions and alliances.), but I wanted to implement some plot related precedents  from time-to-time to keep things fresh. Starting at the Annual Player's Ball Convention)   I'm a big fan of the Wire's storytelling, but even broader, not isolated to just one city or one kind of community.
