The Man behind ALW( プロレス)

The story of ALW (❥ ALL LOVERSプロレス Pro-Wrestling) promotion goes back to a promise made between two brothers. The Shinobu brothers. Saitou and Date.

Shinobu Saitou,  the co-founder and CEO of ❥ ALL LOVERS took up the mantle following the death of his younger brother, Date. In their youth, Date and Saitou grew up with a reverence for and love of professional wrestling which carried into adulthood. Of the two, Date ultimately pursued his passion of becoming a Puroresu (プロレス) professional wrestler. Saitou on the other hand became disillusioned after failing his training and turned to the Japanese underworld.

Date and Saitou were not men born into wealth, rather they were men of meager beginnings who founded their ambitious startup from blood, sweat and turmoil. It's no secret ALW owes much of its beginnings to help from the Yakuza, Saitou doesn't disavow his past dealings, although these days Saitou has firmly established himself as a legitimate businessman, Saitou used his promotion to give back to the disenfranchised, waywards and delinquents looking for opportunities outside the underworld. This is his contribution, ALW is his debt to his younger brother that could not live to see his dream realized.

What is ALW?( プロレス)

I wanted to run a one-on-one roleplay in the classifieds but I felt like my overall idea works much better as a group project.  So here's my pitch to E. Professional Wrestling and Romantic Drama's. What if there was a wrestling promotion that merged the two into a single source? Basically,  booking would incorporate a heavy romance-based theme. Your tag team partner is your lover...basically. There is no inter-gender barrier, anyone is allowed to wrestle anyone regardless of sex, and wrestlers of any sexual orientation and  identity can form teams.  A wrestling promotion where nearly everyone is romantically involved, that doesn't mean there aren't breakups and complicated situations, as is the case of most normal relationships, relationships are left up to the players to form, but there will be a sort of "Idol" -like element where the fanbase gets to interact with and even influence some of the creative decisions.  There is no breaking Kayfabe, so mind you, the relationships are REAL, or that's what the fans expect.

The promotion will be based in Tokyo, and the setting will reflect the puroresu aesthetic and kind of feel of Japanese based Wrestling. There's nothing the Japanese love more than a gimmick. I expect the stories to get a little racy and intense but bare in mind this isn't straight out porn. This is a serious professional based promotion. I don't mind players setting up special "Dark Matches" if it comes to that.

Right now I'm just trying to field for who might be interested in joining this Romance-based Wrestling Promotion (haven't thought of an appropriate name yet? any suggestions? ALL LOVERS WRESTLING?)

What to Expect

Due to recent successes and a unique take on the professional wrestling model, ALW has grown steadily since inception. ALW has secured several contracts across top bidding streaming and televised platforms, it is a burgeoning business model with a promising upside, at the sametime it is a relative newcomer to the wrestling scene and is still in the growing stages of a longterm Enterprise. ALW can be thought of as a very powerful but still unstable child. In many ways, ALW is the underdeveloped jewel of the East. Some see it's premise and selling point as "too niche" to be viable. However, it's appeal is something that can't be overlooked either.

This is the fastest growing wrestling promotion in the East, with a plethora of Wrestling talent unlike anywhere else in the world.  ❥  ALW has become the go-to spot for the most sought after Independent Wrestlers,  and for good reason, ALW follows a longterm model for retaining talent and relations, treat your wrestlers like extended family, going back to the old honor system.  It's a business but foremost it's a place where a wrestler can go to redefine themselves, it is a source of creative autonomy.

As of now, ALW is in the precipice of a new era of wrestling unlike any before it. Saitou seeks to be at the head of the curve, as such he's broadened his business to compete overseas.  ❥ ALW is in the stages of a takeover. Will ALW reach its full potential?

Matchmaking plays out similar to most promotions, with the exception of this being mixed gender promotion. Women (Joshi) can challenge their male counterparts , and vice versa, matches are booked in Pre-arranged outcomes based off heat(how popular a character is with the fandom) , stories and other contributing factors. In most promotions, the promotion is built around the "Top Guy", one wrestler who stands "above" the rest but this being puroresu and a different kind of promotion in itself, works a little different. There are tiers and cards (upper, middle, lower), but what matters even more is achieving success with your partner or group. There are 5 divisions championships per gender, 2 of which are tag-based.

I'm glad this is starting to gain some traction. Another thing worth noting, I'm not sure if I want to accept well known wrestlers from other promotions, but a TNA repackage is completely acceptable if that makes sense.  So, in other words, just change the name unless it's someone like Cena who is too well known to be anything else.(honestly, don't be that guy)
