The letter is strange in more than one way. It arrived at midnight, slipped under your door in a deep blue envelope as dark as the night sky itself. It was not sealed with wax, but rather, was pinned shut with a fine silver needle, and your name is written in delicate silver script above it. It reads:

"In agreement with the Laws of our Empress, the Tailor's Union requests your presence for the reading of the final wishes of Toma Ioratos. The will will be read at sundown at the Hole in the Pocket Pawn & Alterations (Green Street, Lowmarket) on Crownsday, Huntingtide's 6th."

It is made all the stranger by the fact that you have never heard of any "Toma Ioratos," or of a Tailor's Union. A mistake? A mysterious benefactor? Only one place offers any indication of answers for you.

The City of Halikene
*its super tiny and I apologize, but the Hole in the Pocket is the blip right below "Lowmarket" on the map

Hello Elliquiy, I'm Van/Vanna/V, and I'm looking to GM a small group through a flirtatious, slightly mystery-themed storyline. Ideally, I'm looking for 2-3 players of any genders and preference who are interested in roleplaying together through a slightly tongue-in-cheek game. The main focus of the game will be social roleplay and investigation, but danger may rear its head from time to time! Recruitment will not be on a strictly first-come, first-serve basis, but I hope that we all mesh well enough that things can start quickly! Once started, I'd be asking for a at least every other day, and will try to do my best to maintain the same- if I'm in the mood and posts are showing up quickly, I may still respond.

To provide a tease, without too many spoilers, you inherit both some property and a mission from a man you've never met before, and your next few days will revolve around this mystery.

This game takes place in the fictional, slightly magepunk port city of Halikene. It's part of a larger, naval empire known as Thalar, and is roughly Mediterranean in climate. Thalar is a primarily human culture, but is also home to a significant diaspora of halflings and half-orcs. Half-elves are also present in fair numbers, but due to the ancestral war between the humans of Thalar and the nomadic, barbarian elves of the Khuri steppes, they often face social stigma as being treacherous or untrustworthy. Half-orcs, on the other hand, enjoy a more accepting world than most other settings, and have a reputation for dedication. Races outside of the usual core handful may be accepted on a case-per-case basis, but are uncommon to find in Halikene.

Note:Light Slavery Themes
In Thalar, it is not uncommon for a household to maintain a handful of so-called "house servants." These servants are, legally speaking, slaves. House servants are afforded a certain amount of protection through the law, and many see the act of taking in house servants in the modern era as a charitable act- in exchange for housing, education, and medical care, they are bound in contracts to the household. Most contracts are only for a few years, but some may extend for decades, if they are attempting to pay off great debts. In the modern age, most house servants are afforded relative autonomy, and some are even given a token "wage," but at the bottom line, a house servant is expected to do the bidding of their master.

Characters

Characters will begin play at level 4. Please use the starting array (before racial modifiers) of 16, 14, 12, 12, 10, 8. You may select up to two traits for your character, or three if you also select a drawback. You may use any Paizo official class or archetype. Humans, halflings, half-orcs, half-elves, and elves are the majority of the population in Thalar (in that order), but other races may be accepted if their character is interesting enough. I prefer character sheets in the form of Myth Weaver links, but will accept them in any readable form. Along with your character sheet, please provide the below information about your character so that I can better select prospective players. I am also looking for you to provide a "noteworthy event" that a stranger may have seen that could show off your "heroic" potential. Think of it as a writing prompt to show off your character at the most in their element!

This sounds pretty neat! With a Mediterranean climate and names like "Ioratos," is this a sort of Byzantine Greek-flavored setting? Hellenic maybe? or something else entirely and i'm reading too much into that one name?  ;D

Ooh... this sounds really intriguing...

But I've never played pathfinder and am only familiar with D&D 5e rules  What is the learning curve like?

And I'll be out of town until the end of next week.  If you'd prefer to pick your players before then, I understand.

No, it definitely is! It's actually part of a much larger world that I have developed (hence the backwards elves and orcs) but I'm not really trying to preserve the lore from that world. There's all sorts of cultures across the globe; it's a pretty 'magical' setting, and there's a pretty wide breadth of technology levels represented. Thalar is around the tech level of the renaissance, with a more magical and traditional fighting style, but there's early combustion engines and firearms just being developed on the other side of the globe.

Pathfinder (at least in terms of character creation) can be a bit more involved that 5e. I do have a little experience DMing 5e, and am willing to fall back on that if I can't get enough player interest for PF. The system is not super important, but I had created the homebrew world using PF and would have to translate anything i particularly wanted to carry over.

pdragon

Character Name: Yora Myst-Stake
Race / Class: Half-Goblin / Sorceress
Age: 20
Gender: female
Sexual Preference: bi-sexual
Big Ons: Oral of all kinds (including rimming), Anal, group, gang-bang, rough, outdoor, light bondage (no pain emphasis), pet-play, food play (particularly using cum as/on food), cum play, large cocks, unsafe sex, breeding/threat of impregnation, non-con, curvy/well endowed characters, thighs, moderate corruption/degradation.
Big Offs:heavy bondage, excessively mean doms, orgasm denial, feet, blood, guro, scat.

Personality: Like most hybrids of "unsightly" races, Yora is a natural born outcast. Scorned by her father and forced to live as a recluse, she is good at closing herself off from others. Though while in most this would manifest in a gruff, cynical demeanor, Yora's is actually quite polite and benevolent. She is highly conscious of how others see her and her kind, and thus tends to treat most social interactions as a puzzle that needs to be cautiously navigated and solved, rather than a means of genuinely connecting to others, believing she has to over compensate and work to subvert expectations of her race in order to avoid scorn and discrimination. She wears a mask of care free merriment to disguise an underlying sadness, the most literal manifestation being the porcelain mask she wears to cover her face. Having taken far more after her goblin mother than her human father, she was always degraded for her inhuman appearance growing up, destroying her self image, even though, by goblin standards at least, she is actually quite beautiful. This has lead her to cover up her face and body even years after, believing she is doing others a service by covering her unsightliness.

Of course like all people with parental issues and crippling self loathing, Yora deep down yearns for love and acceptance. And despite keeping herself initially walled off, she will actually drop her guard fairly quickly if shown any level of kindness, driven by a mixture of hope and desperation that has often left her vulnerable to manipulation and betrayal. Despite all of this, she maintains a strong sense of empathy and justice, especially towards those with similar experiences to her own. By doing good she seeks to justify her existence, to show that her birth was not a mistake, but a benefit to the world in some tangible way, however small. Wanting to prove her father, and herself, wrong.

Noteworthy Event:
long
"Stop! Thieves!" a street vendor cries out as a pair of children shoulder their way through the crowded marketplace, desperately clutching their armfuls of produce as if their lives depended on it. It didn't take long for the local guards to spot the street rats and take chase. The kids are crafty, weaving between stalls and shoppers, zig zagging between buildings and alleys, knowing the guards' longer legs and stronger bodies would mean their quick capture if they allowed them a straight line of pursuit to build up speed. This fear is unfortunately well founded. As they draw further from the market and the crowds begin to thin, fewer obstacles for them to put between them and their pursuers, the guards quickly start to gain on them, and an errant turn finds themselves trapped in a dead end alleyway.

"That's enough you little cretins, end of the line" one the guard says, the trio of law enforcers already drawing their blades as they closed in. Two of them only meant it as an act to intimidate the young thieves, perhaps scare them off from attempting such a stung again. The man at the head of the group, however, had a much more malicious gleam in his eyes, "you know we were going to let you off with a warning, but then you made us sprint nearly two whole districts to catch you! Do you know how tiring this job is? Do you know how much trouble you've made for us? What happens if the next criminal we have to pursue is a crazed murderer? But we're too worn out from chasing a couple brats to stop him?"  he growled, trying to pass off his fury as justified and reasonable, but in truth he was just pissed that he had to go through so much hassle, "we can't afford to be racing across the city every time you gutter spawn want a snack, so why don't we lop off those legs? make sure you can't run next time, or maybe your arms? That way you can't steal in the first place" he said as he stalked forward, seeming to grow to giant proportions as he towered over the young boys.

The boys stood there paralyzed in fear, still clutching the armfuls of food dearly. Perhaps if they dropped it they could climb over one of the nearby walls and escape...but if they did that then all this would be for nothing, and would they even survive long enough to make a second attempt? These concerns raced through their young minds, though the only concern the guard has was for ending the pair of headaches before him, slowly bringing his blade high over his head...

"...stop..."

A strange, whispered voice suddenly echoed in the guard's head, "h-huh? who said that?" he muttered, glancing back over his shoulder, the other two guards raising their brows in confusion "said what?" they asked back.

"...put your sword down and walk away...these children are under my protection..."

The voice spoke again, the guard's head moving on a swivel as he tried to find the source of the whispers. They sounded so...close...as if someone was whispering right in his ear, no, directly into his brain! "what the fuck!? where the hell are you? show yourself. You won't be let off easily if you try to interfere with the law!" he shouted, the other guards sharing a look with each other, obviously not hearing whatever he was responding too.

"...it's you who won't be let off easily...the next time you raise that blade...there will be consequences..."

The voice replied firmly, bringing a scornful scowl to the guard's face "oh yeah? strong words from a coward hiding in the...somewhere! Why don't I just call your bluff!?" he said with a perturbed chuckle, turning back to the kids and raising his blade again, aiming to divide both of the unwanted orphans in a single chop.

He'd never get the chance to swing his arm forward, however, because the second his muscles twitched the hilt of his blade would suddenly flash searing hot, "AAAGH!" he howled, the sword clattering harmlessly to the ground as he clutched his hand, the imprint of the handle burned into his skin, "wh-what? how!? you bastard!" he growled, the other guards taking a step back, their confusion quickly turning to fright at the strange phenomenon unraveling before them.

Suddenly a faintly glowing light would flicker into existence before them, slowly morphing into a ghostly, vaguely human shape.

"I said there would be consequences!!!"

The figure wailed in a whispered shriek, this time it's voice echoing through all three men's ears, the other two guards hearing the ghostly whisper for the first time, "By the gods! What is that thing?" one of them stammered, the other glaring at their blood thirsty leader, "you fool! you were provoking a vengeful spirit! and now you've called it's wrath upon all of us!" he decried, "sh-shut up! just shut up and run!" the man shouted, all three turning tail and racing away twice as fast as when they had been chasing the young thieves, the head guard not even bothering to recover his sword before fleeing.

Confused and shaken, the two boys could do nothing but stare at the glowing entity with a mixture of awe and fear, "did..did you..save us?" one of them asked. The figure turned it's "head" back towards them, before shaking it in a no, "not me, her" it whispered in their heads, pointing up towards a nearby building before winking out of existence.

With a soft thud a smaller, significantly less ethereal figure would suddenly drop down from one of the nearby rooftops. They were short, wore a mask, and had green skin? and orc? but weren't orcs supposed to be taller? "are you two alright?" the apparently female figure asked, glancing them over worriedly, "who... are you?" the other boy asked, somehow even more confused now than when he thought a ghost had saved them, "me? no one important. just someone who's glad you two are unhurt" she cooed, giving them a warm smile with her eyes, "now you two head off home, and try not to get in any more trouble along the way" she said sternly, before fishing into her purse and producing a fistful of gold, wrapping them up in a small pouch and tying it to one of the boy's wrist, "here, the guards can't stop you next time if you pay with coin..and while you're at it buy a pair of back packs, it'll be easier to get away if your arms are free, more options for climbing up high..." she instructed, giving them a knowing wink before briskly climbing her way back up the building, demonstrating her point, "oh wow..." "thank you so much!" they called, watching the masked woman vanish from sight, wondering faintly if they'd ever see her again...
What a thrill...with silence and darkness through the night....

A WIP with a long way to go... but I figure I'll get something down first and update as I go.

Character Name: Calista Otis
Race / Class: Half-elf. Class: something like a rogue
Gender: Futanari
Sexual Preference: Bi-sexual

Description: Calista was born of a transaction between an elven barbarian visiting Thalar and a human prostitute. Somehow the elven seed made its way past the precautions normally taken and impregnated her mother, who abandoned her shortly after birth.

As for the cliche of half-elves as treacherous or untrustworthy - let's just say that Calista does nothing to dispel the stereotype. But it was a lesson hard learned growing up in the streets, and she only survived this long trusting no one and being willing to do anything for the right price.

Even after she broke out of poverty, old habits die hard. She is not proud of what she did, but it had to be done, and she wouldn't be here today without it.

Would a aasimar or tiefling be. okay?

The significant event would be awakening the characters bloodline and powers publicly. Would like Aasimar but leaning towards tiefling simply because..well the stats are more balanced. You get bonus an penalty

Not really; like I said above, the "common" races in the country are human, halfling, half-orc, half-elf/elf. That said, any Paizo official race with a compelling enough character backstory will probably be accepted. (Though bear in mind, this is not Golarion, so some fluff may change around)

No personal issues with either. I honestly expect this to end up somewhere around 70/30 when it comes to story vs system, so I'm not really heartbroken about the Aasimar's power difference.

I don't know what/where Golarion is, I play primarily home brew worlds, but I'm thinking of probably a Kitsune Rogue/Bard type with monk thrown in. I was trying to make an information gathering/diplomatic character with some fighting skills. It didn't work out IRL cause that group didn't want to RP.

Character Name: Rose Dandy-Ba
Race / Class: Kitsune / Information Gatherer, Spy, Entertainer, Slave (Monk/Rogue)
Age: 23
Gender: female
Sexual Preference: submissive bi-sexual
Big Ons: Oral of all kinds, outdoor, light bondage (no pain emphasis), pet-play, large cocks, curvy/well-endowed characters, legs, size play, cock worship
Big Offs:heavy bondage, excessively mean doms, orgasm denial, blood, guro, scat, vore.
Description: Rose is on the short side, even for a Kitsune, but that's never stopped her. In her normal form, she's around four feet tall, five if you don't count her ears, with a large bushy tail. Her fur is a sandy brown most places and white on her chest and belly. In her human forms, for she has many, she is still on the short side at just shy of five feet tall and her features change based upon her assignment or task. She is fond of wearing loose flowing clothing that helps to hide her more subtle movements. She's also one to wear plenty of jewelry if she can.
Personality: Versatile, as a slave, performer, and thief Rose can blend based on the situation she's presented. Normally she's a bit more reserved and observant to folks she doesn't know, but she has a naturally curious personality and loves to learn new things and once she knows someone is very open and trusting.

Noteworthy Event: Rose isn't sure where she's from, she just knew that she didn't look like any of the other kitsune that were to being sold on the slaver's block. That was what caught his eye he later told her as she was bent over backward gasping for breath. He'd purchased the large-eared fox person despite her runty size. He was a hard taskmaster, and most of his lessons ended up with painful experiences. But she was learning, and that was the important thing. He had wanted someone who wouldn't be observed to closely. He drilled all of it into her and more before selling her off again to an enterprising young man in another city who required her unique talents, whether she wanted them or not. It was safe to say that her old master made her into the woman she is today.

Character Name: Nisha Pelrue (the Silvered [-Eyed, -Tongued, -Haired)
Race / Class: Aasimar/ Enchantress (Manipulator)
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Sexual Preference: Bi-sexual
Big Ons / Big Offs: ONs: light bondage, groups
OFFs: No underage, no scat, no golden showers, Vore

Personality: Manipulative and self-absorbed are some of the words that first come to mind with Nisha, till you see her actions don’t always benefit just her. When not working on a particular goal, she is cheerful, flirtatious and even a bit ‘bubbly’ in her manner. Right now, she is a well regarded Courtesan and ‘fixer’, most often for the Church of Arshea or folks of similar interests. She tends to manipulates events to tend to others, parties to help repair the orphanage she grew up in, coaxing an ‘endowment’ to help supplement the guard in Lowmarket or get a boy or girl into a home as a house servant to assist a family in need of fewer mouths in the home. In exchange, they get a livelihood and she gets ears in useful places.
Noteworthy Event: Nisha had once been Nishawn, a gutter rat from the docks, whose life turned around when he stumbled into a ‘high rite’ of the Church of Arshea (less polite folk would use the word ‘orgy’). Being young, male and relatively handsome and charming, he was surprised by the next morning to find the ritual had worked and he was now a she, an ‘god(dess)’ (Arshea has both male and female forms) blooded woman that the Church elders took in hand and taught the new woman the faith and how to use her powers, apprenticing her to an enchantress with links to the church.

I'm thrilled with the uptick in attention to the thread today- once the submissions that are in as partials are all complete, I'll make my review (assuming no one else applies, but who knows) and let you know who has been accepted.

I would like to preface this game by saying that I will be unavailable this weekend, as I am attending my first-ever LARP, but plan to start the game next week if possible!

I don't rightly know and have limited access to the SRD at work. Not sure if it's helpful, but I do know that it only costs 2,500gp to have a Reduce Person spell made permanent on your character (well, not know, but am pretty sure it's the same cost as doing it for Enlarge, which I've done before).

Looks like to determine that it's 1(Spell level) x 7(Caster level) x 2,000 or 14,000 GP. lol WAY more expensive than I figured it would be.

As a slave to the Despoina Illythaea, he was trained to give life and create beauty; He has a deep empathic streak for those who suffer, and a deep fondness for all forms of artistry. This background also makes him somewhat naive, and adverse to conflict or combat. After the despoina died however - despite his ministrations - he was released with a small stipend, and has since been tending the ill of Halikene; in the courts of this he has learned that sometimes one needs to present force, if at least to defend yourself or protect others. He's honest, but not blunt; the mistress hated liars, but she hated frankness almost as much. Kailen harbors a distrust for authority; even though he had a good life for a slave, he was still a slave, and was still stolen from his home. He's hardly a radical, or even that political - he simply does not believe that the honestiores actually deserve a higher station; after all, he was a slave, yet the power of a goddess wells from his hands! Speaking of, he does not see himself as a "priest" or the like; rather, he understands that a power - and its burden - has been given to him to make the world a better place. Whether that actually comes fro ma Goddess (Kailen aligns himself with Shelyn, after all) or somewhere else is genuinely a mystery; one he wonders at, but has as of yet not pursued.

Noteworthy Event: Recently, Kailen intervened in a street brawl; a man was attacking a beggar, claiming the beggar had stolen from him. Kailen interposed himself to protect the beggar, and was assaulted as well. As it turns out, Kailen isn't as fragile as some might think; he took some blows, but in the end, the bully was the one laying on the cobbles. After that, Kailen took it upon himself to heal the victim and help him to safety - then came back to do the same for the attacker. People remembered less the unlikely victory, and more the slight young man's willingness to stand up, and then help even his former enemy.
