elcome from Count and Countess Daough.
You have been invited to the Masquerade ball! Come inside the castle with your costumes and masks on. No peeking under masks until after midnight!

The castle doors will open at 9pm and stay open until the next day, so please dance and eat and stay awhile. Your invitations will come to you in the mail and you may come alone or bring a plus one. There are many rooms available to you inside of the castle. We have a banquet hall set up with a feast that will be supplied with any food you can imagine. There are bedrooms, and staterooms with plush furniture. There is a courtyard and garden as well if you need some fresh air. The banquet will start one hour after dancing begins and then the whole castle is yours.

Please enjoy yourself on this magical night of dancing, frivolity and mystery!

As with all games we do have some rules:
1. All E rules are of course in effect during this game!
2. No God-Modding please. If you can’t move the story along without doing so please just make your reply shorter or PM your partner for permission!
3. Please ask permission before you do anything to another character.
4. No attitude, if someone tells you to stop something please just stop. We don’t want any squabbling. This is a game!
5. Please no more than 2 characters per person.
6. Please do not ignore another character, if you do not wish for your character to spend a lot of time interacting with that other character find a way to move on but make it believable within the story and try not to be rude!
7. If you do not reply within 24 hours to the characters interacting with you we will move the story along without you.
8. If you need to drop out your character becomes the ours and we will play them to the completion of the story. We do not wish to take over another person’s character but if you cannot continue the story we will do so for the sake of others playing in the group.

Short Bio: Sebastian McDonald is a young, up and coming accountant working at the local firm in town. He looks forward to the annual masquerade balls as a chance to become someone else through a mask and add a sense of mystery to his currently non-existent love life.

They have a very open and polyamorus relationship and enjoy throwing large balls and gala's in their home.

Short Bio: Imogen is the only daughter of a a pair of international socialites who have turned recently turned recluse; their reasons are unknown to the public and their beloved daughter has not made a statement. Imogen herself mostly makes a living money through her family's investments and her participation in the fashion industry.

Reason For Invite: Rumors swirl that her father has wasted no time in introducing his of-age debutante daughter to high society - whether to find her modeling contacts, a husband, or as other scandalous rumors suggest, to auction off her virginity or offer her up to a secret society, whatever that might mean. Rumors seesaw between speculation her father was able to secure an invitation to her in part as a favor from a past gray-market business relationship with Count Titus, or the simpler explanation that the young model has been invited to serve as eye and arm candy for the event, upon the recommendation of a photographer or artist of which the hosts have been patrons.

Short Bio: Elia grew up as a military brat with a stern father, Claude Benoit, stationed abroad. Her father left the service soon after her birth, and pivoted into the business world with shocking velocity. Rumors (and a certain amount of law enforcement intelligence never able to be proved) suggest he leveraged contacts on both sides of previous military conflicts to position himself as an invaluable gray-market power broker in private security and certain import-export markets, and that from a distance he runs a private mercenary company which salutes only the highest bidder. In any case, Claude took pains to sequester his wife and daughter - and supposedly several mistresses - from his work life. Elia grew up learning ballet, singing, and as a teenager had some success as a model, but mostly in the low paying art world. Now of age, Elia seeks to make a name for herself as a professional model, knowing full well how cutthroat it can be and the intrigue and favors often involved in the way the game is played.

Short Bio: Marieme was born in Montreal, Canada to an affluent family with strong ties in the business world. She received the finest education in medicine and earned herself a specialisation in hematology. She married shortly after beginning her practice to the vice-president of an accounting firm. Marieme has been widowed for just over a year after a relatively short marriage that was mired in scandal. Though the authorities found no evidence of her involvement in her husband's sudden death, she remains the subject of some minor suspicion within her social circles.

Reason For Invite: She is the Ambassador's daughter and heiress to a massive fortune back home, a fashion icon to the foreign country and thus often in the media's spotlight as a local celebrity.

Short Bio: Moved to the country as a little girl, Isobelle has only truly known this as her home. Her father is constantly working in his political career and mother was often depressed, leaving the child to fend for herself through the difficult years of growing up. She became obsessed with fashion, design, and gulping down the attention she received the young woman uses it to her advantage by traveling to many countries for shows, and is on the cusp of launching her own line of formal gowns. The night of the masquerade is one of her own creations. In her spare time she is often found indulging in dark delights as a product of her wealth and celebrity status, a wild card of amusement for people who follow her lifestyle closely.

Character Faceclaim or Description: 5'10 and lithely built, Auden is hardly the most imposing person in the room. But he carries himself with a sort of careless confidence that comes from being bored and raised with too much money. He is fickle and doesn't maintain a personal style, rather choosing to wear whatever catches his interest that day. He can hardly be reigned in to follow society's rules of dress and can be one day in a subdued suit and the next in something from the 1980's gothic scene.
Costume: He decided his costume would be in drag with a blue and gold dress with a set of delicate wings and an appropriate mask. And if any man found themselves in a little too deep with him and didn't catch on to the obvious hint that he was a fairy well... that's their problem, isn't it?
Reason For Invite: Perhaps there was something about his appearance that caught the hosts' eye, or maybe it was the rumors swirling around about how the Burlesons' youngest boy had gotten into all sorts of trouble in the 5 years since he'd been sent away to school?
Short Bio: Auden was the youngest son but 4th born of 6 in the Burleson's youngest generation. His father was of an established family in the area and had taken his wife from among the nouveau riche Stoughtons several states away - far enough to avoid much of the gossip from such a match. Burlesons in the past had a sturdy reputation as philanthropists and were active in the community to the point that it might make you sick to hear their name but Auden's father was happy to settle into as normal a family life as he could muster and give up his mother and grandmother's love of being in the paper. Auden threw a few wrenches into the mix with his troublesome behavior and eventually his parents sent him off to boarding school as much for his benefit as for theirs. Now that he's freshly 19 and back home, he seems to have lost a lot of his defiant behavior though he's still anything but the boring final piece of the family puzzle daddy would prefer him to be.
