"Are you trying to get rid of me?" she asked laughing. "If you want to talk to Nicole alone you just have to say."

" not at all  she kissed her " I love you "

"I'll see you in a bit then," she said, heading out of the room.

"Y'know, if me and Lydia make each other half as happy as you two are," Nicole said, smiling. "I'll feel like I'm doing something right. I ought to tell Dad, the weird thing is he's met her, she actually works for the company he runs when he's not off being a superhero."

" well i am here to help, this is not the sort of thing to do on the phone you know"

[Lady Jenn]

"Well, it might be a bit late for that," came a voice, Nicole turning to see Lydia, dressed in a tank top and tight jeans, stood in the doorway, grinning at her. "I'm sorry, I asked your dad not to spoil the surprise, don't be mad at him."

"But..." she looked confused. "How did he..."

"Your dad's known I was gay since pretty much the day I met him," she replied. "And..." her face turned slightly pink. "I wanted to be traditional and get his permission to marry you, which I know is a little weird months after the event...but I didn't even need to ask. He saw me with a ring box, put two and two together and told me as long as it made us happy he'd support us no matter what." She came over and pulled her into a tight hug. "He...he called me when you got back here from the fight, said you were upset, I had a client to deal with but the minute it was finished he sent one of his old Star Brigade colleagues to pick me up. I arrived five minutes ago." She smiled at Geri. "I hope she's said nothing but nice things about me."

" only that you obviously have a very good taste is ladies. " She winked " I will leave you too to it" Katya ? We should go talk the kids maybe "

Katya was sat on the makeshift bed she had been lain on when they first brought her back, Nitro looking closely at her knee. "So...I've got a fun choice," she said, trying to smile. "He thinks there may be a way to speed up the healing of the knee, but there's no guarantee it'll work and it'll mean even more pain."

She sat with them both and hugged Katya " Mark if I were the injured one would you recommend me have it"

He thought for a moment " no but Katya can take more pain than you "

[Lady Jenn]

"I...I don't know," she said, looking away. "If you think it's for the best then yes."

[Lawshenk]

Mark looked at her " no pressure the choice is yours but you could be walking within a week "

[Lady Jenn]

"My pain threshold isn't that high," she said. "When they first attached my bionic arm they ended up having to put me under anaesthetic because the pain of attaching it was too severe for them to continue the way they would normally."

" then your be pushed down the isle rather than walk " he said happily

[Lady Jenn]

"Are you sure you're okay with this?" she asked Geri, taking her hand. "If you don't mind being my nurse for a week I'll happily take it."

" if it help you I'll do what I have to" she smiled and kissed her

[Lady Jenn]

"I just...I don't take pain well," she said, resting her head against her. "I can't do this without painkillers, I can barely walk already the amount of pain it's in."

[Lawshenk]

" I wish I could take the pain for you Hun"

[Lady Jenn]

"I think it's a better idea not to do this," Nicole said, entering the room. "If Tyler sees Kat in pain it's just going to upset him, he really cares about his future mum."

" we could head back to the coffee shop and do it there " gerri scratched her head " hey does that make me a future dad?"

[Lady Jenn]

"I just..." she started feeling a bit woozy, put a hand to her head.

"This can wait," Nitro said. "She doesn't look well and that knee problem is gonna still be there if we wait a bit." He looked at Katya. "Are you okay?" All Katya could manage in response was a shake of the head.

Gerri held her tightly " I am here hunny and I will do my best for you,"

"Isaac," Nitro called out. "Can you come check Katya out?"

"sure," Isaac said, walking over and taking a look, frowning. "I'm hoping she's just suffering the effects of having not eaten for a while. We're overdue lunch anyway so this is a good reminder."

" your joking right she is I'll and your trying to make a joke about lunch" Gerri said clearly losing it

"I'm not joking," Isaac said, sighing, as Nitro headed for the kitchen. "Most of us have barely eaten since we got back, and the alternative if this isn't lack of food..." he closed his eyes, pinching the end of his nose. "Let's just work on the best case scenario until we have a reason to think otherwise."
