Okay... maybe one cookie... but please be careful about what players are told, please keep it to a minimum and on a need to know basis.

Starting out naked and helpless is definitely my bag.

Hell, that's how I start every day when I roll out of bed LOL

Hobbes, would you consider allowing us to 'buy' special abilities with our points? Say I want low-light vision for an elf concept. Maybe that is worth 5 points. I know that is more work for you, but it would allow peeps to create non-humans while keeping things balanced.

I am very interested in the concept of bare ass survival with the added thread of potentially dangerous monsters and beasts. I've noticed that you're trying not to give away anything which is good, but I would like to know if there is at least the possibility of overcoming some of these monsters. Regular wild animals are dangerous enough when you've got nothing, but there are ways to get out on top. Most monsters are generally even more powerful so I just want to know we're meant to just be fodder and make the hunt or conquest exciting for them, or if it's possible to get out on top if you play it smart, lay traps or what have you.

I don't know... that seems like a very slippery slope... I don't know if I could implement it fairly...

I can't give details or even broad information about the monsters, but I specifically won't say that the monster can't be dealt with in one way or another... does that not answer your question in a way that you can infer the answer? I'm realizing that it's pretty hard to give people information they need without giving spoilers.

No, this is fine. I don't need any specific information I just want to know in a very broad sense what I'd be stepping into if joining this game, so that I don't spend weeks plotting and planning and working up to something when it's already been determined that there is no chance of success because we're only meant to be game, know what I mean?

Hi everyone. I'm interested, especially the secrets the GM is holding back, that makes me very curious.

I have a character idea, she's one that was used in a sci-fi game recently but which sadly only lasted a few pages, but those few pages allowed me to build a solid background for her. She'll be from a planet with tech that is in advance of Earth at 2017, but not fantasy SF levels, probably what we'll have by 2100.

Her species however is actually quite tribal in nature and they live in rural communities.

She's an equine.

In the original game I didn't express her height though she is big and bulky and might be equated to a horse walking upright, but with human styled arms as forelimbs. Now if that body mass is too great, Hobbes, I can make her slighter and perhaps have her as a pony (juvenile) but to me part of the joy of playing her is that she's pretty big - perhaps 8' to 9' tall? I can reduce that as I said but unless its a deal-breaker would rather keep the dimensions.

Her other major feature is that she's what she calls a "Genmix". She has the breasts of a human female, though very large to match her bulk but the genitals of a male horse. I consider her female though from a personality POV. She is fine receiving anal sex and in her species the waste products are not faeces but a cloudy semi-sticky liquid, something very much like a mix between human semen and anal lube. Yes - you spotted it - this is a simple device to allow always-clean anal sex with her ;)

I think I can respond to that much better actually! I don't plan on putting any unwinnable challenges in front of the players, so long as you can find a way to use the resources you have available to you to win, even if it's in a way I haven't thought of myself, you can win, it won't always be easy and sometimes you'll just have bad luck but there's never going to be guaranteed failure.

Well I hope my secrets are worthy of your interest. Eight foot is pushing it, but so long as it's within what is possible for a human it's perfectly acceptable, though I'd prefer no one getting too close to any extremes.

As far as waste goes that's something I've been thinking about... I'm far from fond of it and I have a few ideas on how to deal with it in the game. How do players feel about waste?

Honestly? probably not, it's one of those things that the chars are imagined to just "step off screen to do" really.

If my "easy kleen anal sex" trick is what inspired this discussion we could have something in the water that has the same effect. Everyone's bowels only produce a cloudy sticky lube that lacks taste or odour beyond a slight saltiness and a wheaty/yeasty scent like male semen. We get guaranteed clean bum fucking all the time, with built-in lube!

I'll keep my equine lady to just under 8' then. With hooves on her hind legs she isn't going to be climbing any trees to grab coconuts or bananas that's for sure so she has built in weaknesses to go with her strength and bulk.

Here's the sort of numbers I was thinking of to go with her, plus my justifications.

Strength 17 [she's simply big, muscular and tough]
Speed 15 [as part equine she can run like the wind, but her size and weight mean she can never be an Usain Bolt]
Survival 12 [coming from a semi-tribal herd-like social culture she knows a bit about herbs, plants, cooking, hydration and so on but she's no expert]
Intelligence 9 [average]
Will 9 [average]
Endurance 14 [fairly tough due to her physique but no Houdini]
Lust 19 [...er, her race are EXTREMELY sexual]

JoanieSappho

Solid waste, nope. Liquid waste .... eh ... from a female, kinda sorta yes.

Hobbes1266

Or people on the island just don't produce waste for some reason that could potentially be investigated further by players...

Snake

Hobbes1266

Still going to need to eat. I just wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be any problems if characters didn't produce waste for an unknown reason.

pdragon

I feel like having all that stuff just be taken care of off screen and have everyone just be adequately clean would be a fine enough way to handle it. I don't think this is something that really needs a convoluted explanation or any kind of "mystery" behind it.

I would prefer we treat waste like most shows treat it, we all know it happens but it happens off screen.

Snake

Everyone poops. just nobody cops a squat in front of everyone else. I'm sure the plants don't mind the extra fertilizer. I'd worry more about what you're going to use after you've finished ..... unless we get an infinite supply of toliet paper we poof in from hyperspace.

It could be something made into a plot related thing of course. As suggested it could be something for those of us more inquisitive and scholarly to pursue as an alternative motivation from simply getting the hell out of there.

Uhm... I don't remember if it's been mentioned before, but is it alright to play a Hermaphrodite?

Hobbes1266

Okay, I'm fine with waste just being taken care of off screen, but everyone should have to deal with it in the same way.

There are no rules against it

GentleBlueberry

I'm in the contingent of prospective players who don't want to address waste in any capacity, or as little as possible. There will still be plenty of survival considerations to roleplay without the uncomfortable hassle of waste disposal.

Haibane

I think off screen is best, it looks like its a subject no-one wants to have as RP content so my vote is we just effectively ignore it (the "hand-wavey" method of GMing) and move forwards with more interesting stuff!
