We should probably create an OOC, BTW. Tihs is still in the GM Seeking Players board.

Also, @Zaer: What is the ruling on the Frugal Crafter Feat and Hedge Mage Trait stack? Is it multiplicative or an additive reduction? eg: 31.66% or 28.33% of original cost?
Like what you see? I am currently looking for new plots!

Detailed List of O/Os and Plot Seeds

All of my image links were previously photobucket and broken -- I'm fixing them as I use the avatars again, or for current games. Please let me know if there is something that needs updating!

Zaer Darkwail

I create OOC in tomorrow, for now the OOC chatter keeps thread up and so game advertised.

Anyways on Frugal Crafter Feat and Hedge Mage stacking; they stack as other is from trait and other is from a feat. Formula wise; base price / 3 * 0.95 * 0.95

Krys

Makes sense Zaer.

To others: is a potential $400k worth to skip on extremely fashionable (my least valuable trait)? That's skipping pn +1 on three skills AND one new class skills. so basically +6 to skills.

English isn't my native language. I'm deeply rooted in a culture with significantly different (much more direct) communcation strategies than typical for the extremely polite british or canadian cultures, or the "optimistic" approach often used in the USA. Additionally, I'm not neurotypical in several ways, warping my perception and communication to an even further degree.

But: my english is JUST good enough to lull many readers into a false sense of security. Think of it as the communicative equivalent to "false friends words" which, while extremely similar in outward appearance in two languages, mean something slightly but importantly different. Like "I want to become a steak" makes perfect sense to a german... that still would prefer not to be butchered.

So please, if you perceive my words as rude, my intentions as unemotional or just weird: ask me. I'm not always successful in my attempts to correctly guess the fluff and embellishments needed for successful communication. Not in my native german tongue, much less so in english. Please do not interpret them as bad intent, but feel free to ask for clarifications. I'll try my best to solve such misunderstandings, and learn to prevent them.

Taht's a good thought, the more we bullshit here and discuss stuff the more advertising it gets.

BTW: I am interested in having Sano be a sibling or cousin to someone else here, is anyone else up for that?

Search through this thread, somewhere I explaned that Viktoria jr. does have a (RL) relative that is in the Iskardian guild. That person is either early 40s (uncle/aunt), or around her age (cousin). If the older, that person is responsible for getting Viktoria sr. into the guild. If the younger, it's a heir to that guild founder.

I remember reading that. but I'm not sure if Sano fits the cousin angle. He could be but he's not sure.

Adding in a few minions to my sheet in case anyone has any particular requests:

Nice, just add bit more personality/background info on the thralls. Also did you take account if you bought one cohort, you get another cohort for free? You as thrallmaster lots thrall discounts.

Definitely planning to flesh them out a bit more as I go  ;D

I did not, actually!  I was paying for both of the Thralls, I just went back to re-read your post and apparently I missed that bit, haha!

That's certainly handy, thanks for the reminder  :)

firepyre: Aha, okay. Now I understand it better. Now normally you cannot cast magic jar on said golem because it has no mental stats (it's just a animated object) and thus not able possessed. However with awakened it does have mental stats and thus subjective for anything which asks will saves and such. It has magic immunity, however malevolence is supernatural ability and so it ignores magic immunity which works only on spells/powers which check for spell resistance.

So you can use ghosts possess the constructs....but I wonder why? As your idea is a 'ghost inside a sword' then what for you need a construct? Told hold the sword and then attack with it, get body destroyed and then someone claims the sword sort scenario?

If you want simply spirits bound into swords I can allow ghosts possess items (how fiends can possess items and turn them cursed like 3.5 fiend of possession or some demons can do). If you apply ghost touch on said weapons then ghosts can wield them in fight but if you want them to fly, then just as ghost yourself you can use telekinesis for it (or your cohorts).

I say much easier (and less headache) is to just buy the swords as they are, add sentience/inteligence to each sword (I am sure there is gp cost for that) and ably them a unique ability which gives them Dancing property, however with unlimited duration and tied to where owner (your char) is located at. Each sword can individually attack once (with your modifiers) but can free action 'swap' to your hand if you so desire (and free action depart and thus attack same turn as swap was done).

If it seems complicated, you're overthinking it. It's pretty simple, and just like any other cohort. Ghosts have rules that cover everything I've talked about built in. They are just cohorts, same as any other.

I feel like this risks being confusing again, but here's my first draft trying to reexplain the ghosts.

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Pathfinder's rules for dancing are pretty mediocre. Dancing weapons can't posess enemies or benefit from teamwork feats, or make AoOs, or anything else that makes cohorts really useful.

The golems are not posessed by the ghosts. They are the ghosts. The ghost is a ghost of a golem.

The golem is the incorporeal form that wields the blade while it is out. Because it's incorporeal, it vanishes as soon as the blade posesses something. By flavor, this is the "spirit" of the sword, a spectral samurai manifested to wield it.

None of this uses stuff there isn't rules in place for. They are identical to any other cohort in both function, and potential power, with all the same advantages and disadvantages.

Hmm, what are useful chorts for me? I doubt I should take them to battle, after all, I'll be out of sight most of the time. So... anyone any ideas?

"IGOR!!!! PULL THE SWITCH!!!"

Snake

XD I'd rather set up a shitton of nasty traps in my char's lair rather than have a bunch of flammable minions.

Though I'd likely have a mimic of a red dragon's harem. a bunch of sexy living "treasures"

If work fast you can get in, as mentioned OOC opens at saturday and same day IC as well but no need completed sheet to participate in (so long you have hammered solid char concept).

Ah, now I get it; you apply ghost template on the constructs! Well, I first doubted you can add ghost template to constructs (as they lack con score and are immune to lot of things where con is needed), but ghost only asks charisma score minimum of 6. Only question is then that does construct count as 'living creature'? I say no, there is living construct type in Eberron (modified to pathfinder as well), so the construct type you chose is not 'living creature' to qualify to become a ghost. More so as constructs cannot be raised nor ressurected decides that they are not living creatures despite they got sentience in them.

Sorry for confusion in my part and delay on your part making your cohorts, but if you want ghosts they must count as living creatures (or very least be living construct type).

So I'm a little confused by backstories too far... our characters are mmo characters right? Am I weird for not detailing my birth,  childhood,  or personality? At least as something different than my "player"?

If you qualify for mythic path, you have choice take the path or the mythic monster tier progression :).

People seem write background story or stories both for the charactheirs they have 'played' so far and then separately background related to their player personas. Which is good as it helps flesh out idea how other players knew about you or what sort MMO fame you got before servers were announced shut down (and it affects how minions/cohorts you bought treat you and such, example if you write your chars as king of xxx country in WoG, then your cohorts/minions treat you as a king).

Also it's adviced you write some background and personality to your highest level cohorts (no need all minions having names and I imagine most players sink to 'minion #number' approach for meatgrinder troops than actually name them). If you leave personalities and background blank for cohorts, it's giving GM free reign to decide whatever he wants to plant there :P

Lockepick

So that's just characters being super role-playing? I feel like one we find out were stuck in our bodies,  sane people might sort of blue their characters "persona" and their real personality a little? Or am I thinking differently than everybody else?

Zaer Darkwail

Well, players chars may have touch of their true persona but in end chars are players alter egos to explore aspects of themselves which they do not display in RL. So the chars are different from players and there has been discussion that some players in this game will play out how the player and chars personas sort 'merge' and change (so example your good guy in RL but create evil bastard in videogame, but then get stuck in avatar and then both real life and game persona mixes together to create anti-hero or worst case turn into the characther entirely).

Things ofc are different in pen and paper compared to VR where you direct char with thoughts and think speaking of words and doing the actions you did, instead just imagine or inputing commands.

Keep in mind this is a freeform sandbox MMO (think Eve Online) set in a popular fantasy setting that has been running for over fifty years. Player stories within the setting (both in terms of written backgrounds and actual events that players have done) are going to be detailed and as intricate as any real world geopolitical upheaval.

So its kinda fun to write about the sorta stuff your character(not player) may have been involved in!

Also i still like the idea that our OOC personalities start getting influenced by our character's nature. All those half dragons start getting picky about their piles of gold for example...
