Question for Zaer: are we/can we use the optional rule for emanations and larger creatures?

QuoteBursts and Emanations and Larger Creatures
Source AP91
The rules often assume that creatures are Medium or Small. In the case of a handful of spells or effects with areas that feature a “radius emanation centered on you” such as antimagic field, aura of doom, and zone of silence, as well as some of the spells presented in this section, this can result in an area that is effectively useless when coming from a Large or larger caster. As an optional rule, when a creature casts an emanation or burst spell with the text “centered on you,” treat the creature’s entire space as the spell’s point of origin, and measure the spell’s area or effect from the edge of the creature’s space. For instance, an antimagic field cast by a fire giant would extend 10 feet beyond his space (effectively increasing the emanation’s radius by 5 feet).

Without it my fat ass doesn't fit inside a bunch of spells xD

I allow that optional ruling as it makes sense, if spell radius is 20'ft it's counted 20'ft from edges of large or bigger creatures (than central mass of said creature).

English isn't my native language. I'm deeply rooted in a culture with significantly different (much more direct) communcation strategies than typical for the extremely polite british or canadian cultures, or the "optimistic" approach often used in the USA. Additionally, I'm not neurotypical in several ways, warping my perception and communication to an even further degree.

But: my english is JUST good enough to lull many readers into a false sense of security. Think of it as the communicative equivalent to "false friends words" which, while extremely similar in outward appearance in two languages, mean something slightly but importantly different. Like "I want to become a steak" makes perfect sense to a german... that still would prefer not to be butchered.

So please, if you perceive my words as rude, my intentions as unemotional or just weird: ask me. I'm not always successful in my attempts to correctly guess the fluff and embellishments needed for successful communication. Not in my native german tongue, much less so in english. Please do not interpret them as bad intent, but feel free to ask for clarifications. I'll try my best to solve such misunderstandings, and learn to prevent them.

@Snake: I wasn't entirely sure what you wanted your focus/strength to be, so it was tough to offer advice.
1) For what it's worth -- I listed every magic item slot, and just went through the SRD for each one to see what looked good. What Knarfy said: You can add additional properties to a magic item by paying x1.5 the value of the 'cheaper' item. You can do that as much as you want, though of course, the item should probably have some sort of 'theme'.
ie: Ring of Protection +5 is 25,000, Ring of Freedom of Movement is 40,000. Combining them would be 77,500 ((25,000 * 1.5) + 40,000).
2) I'd also probably swap out Mythic Toughness for Extra Path Ability. There's got to be something better in your path than +23 HP! Titan's Rage seems fitting for all your Rage stuff! The extra Reach plus Sweeping Strike (hit all targets in reach) sounds like a pretty sweet combo. I might also take a look at if there is any Path Abilities that are greater than Mythic Weapon Focus. +1 to Hit (and 1MP = +5 to hit for a round) is cool, but Precision is a +5 on all Iterative Attacks (beyond the first/highest BAB) without having to spend MP -- just as an example.
3) Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it seems like your Claws are your best weapons -- but you have no magic enhancements on them? Permanency Greater Magic Fang is a cheap/fragile solution! Mythic Arcane Strike is going to be awesome for you: Brilliant Energy is a +4 ability, which is a great thing to turn on/off at will -- and will go a long way in making your Attack Roll higher than it really is. I'd disagree with Knarfy and say 'fuck the nodachi' and just focus on a single weapon -- especially if it's your claws!
4) Your Rope Dart is a neat idea, but Anchoring specifically only 'locks' a target if they're struck in Melee. Phase Lock/Dimensional Anchor is a good tool to have, but a Wand of Dimensional Anchor would only be 21,000gp (vs 200,000gp for your +10 Weapon) and doesn't require an attack roll. If Dimensional Anchor isn't on your list, a Wondrous Item that casts Dimensional Anchor 5x/day would only be around ~50,000gp.

The focus is to basically  mimic a dragon

Blast melee fools with magic then divebomb casters for melee dragon rage to plow large amounts of enemies down.

but 1) I'd forgotten about the combination factor. thanks for the reminder! :3

2) That's a good idea. actually. o.o when I make this char usually Iwant to push my HP as high as possible

3) I have a feat that automatically activates arcane strike while I'm raging :3 so I don't need to use an action to engage it and I can use the mythic to add enchants to my claws on the fly.

4) I covered the  rope dart in PM. if it does't work that way lemme know

4) I covered the  rope dart in PM. if it does't work that way lemme know

3) Mythic Arcane Strike would stack with other Enhancements though -- and Mythic Arcane Strike also only allows you to add properties, which won't really affect accuracy (outside of potentially Bane and Brilliant Energy). It's only 7,500gp to get a Permanency Greater Magic Fang for a +5 to hit and damage. It can be dispelled kind of easily -- but still a pretty cheap investment. I'd probably go even bigger if I were you -- even if it meant getting rid of the Nodachi.

4) A Dagger would work just fine, or, you go something massive so it's difficult for the person to just destroy the weapon. I also can't really envision any situation where you want to pin them down and move away -- unless you were a massive size and wanted to abuse your superior reach. The effort of moving into melee, anchoring them, then moving away just to breath weapon them seems inefficient -- especially against a target you can actually hit with that reduced attack roll. (forgot that a melee attack would use a higher To Hit than listed). A +10 weapon is a pretty big investment is all, when I can't really envision the best situation to use it in. If you're into it, though -- go for it! Just make it Adamantium so it's harder to break.

So I've decided my character is going to be an accountant within one of the mega-corporations, and on a whim decided he's married and raising at least one kid to follow on his footsteps. Would any of the wimminz want to take up that role of being his wife, with WoG being a shared leisure activity for the two of them to escape the daily grind?

Zaer Darkwail

Oh, forgot mention max of base enchant is +5 and total enchant value is +10 (so no 3.5 epic handbook +10 base enchant values).

Name: Viktoria Anderson (jr.)
Race/Ethnicity/Gender: Gene-Tailored Human / Caucausian / Cis-Female
Occupation: prodigy student / daughter
Character: Vikie
Brief Description:
- Viktoria Anderson (Player): Is there much to tell about Viktoria Anderson? If you ask her, surely not. According to herself, she is a rather normal person, with normal hobbies, a fairly normal life.If you ask others, you might be told fairly different things.
Her "peers" from her old school might go on about her being a teachers pet, no fun, arrogance, and lack of "team spirit". Basically what you'd expect to hear about someone unwilling to cheat, and have others copy her work.
If you ask teachers and other adults, you'll be told about her incredible intelligence but sometimes also about her precociousness or "altklugheit". Mostly from people which are old, but not smart. Only those few that know her a bit better, will describe her as a slightly shy, very determined, but also extremely loyal and friendly person, with a rather twisted kind of humor.
- Vikie (Character): A legend. Literally... A character as old as the game, there are hundreds of rumors about that little pixie artificer. While not as prominent to the masses as many of the front line fighters, Vikie (probably the only character with just one name) has been in game since pre-alpha.
Reason why joined Iscardians (or played pathfinder VR): Vikie was a legend even in the late 21st century when the Iscardians where founded. Having played in only 2 guilds during her first 40+ years of existence, it was due to the insistence of one of the founders (and the slow dead of her old guild... again), that she joined the Iscardians. Since then she has been the heart and soul of the Iscardians, at some times taking over guild leadership rather hesitantly, but filled that position till roughly a month ago.
Biography (max 2-4 paragraphs): Most of the rumors about Vikie are wrong of course. The simple truth is, that Viktoria Anderson (sr.), wife of one of the original developers of World of Golarion got rather bored during her complicated first pregnancy. Being given an alpha account... she has never stopped playing since.
Over the years Vikie the character has changed of course. Starting as a human cleric, she switched race and class later on. And while most players prefered to become famous for their skills and panache, she always stayed in the background. Over the years though she became THE source of magical equipment on the worlds, and managed to earn a small fortune (legally) trading with them. People paid quite a lot of real hard cash, to own an artifact showing the unique swept V or her monogram.
Only the inner circle of her guilds knew a bit more about her real life, which she kept private all those years. For those who knew, it came not as a surprise, but still a saddening shock to hear about her death. A few of them even managed to attend her funeral. Those are also the only players knowing, that she left her small fortune, villa and most importantly the character Vikie to her great-granddaughter.

Volunteer accepted! Here's what I have for OOC stuff.

Name: Stephen Albright
Race/Ethnicity/Gender: Human / Caucausian / Cis-Male
Occupation: Corporate Accountant
Character: The Incredible Karazheem
Brief Description:
- Stephen Albright IV (Player): Stephen is a cog in the machine, a faceless but still important accountant within the massive bureaucracy of the interstellar mining consortium NovaStar. He's worked for NovaStar for years, slowly creeping his way up tiny increments in the corporate ladders from a record-keeping clerk to the accounting department. He has a wife and a son, the former of which already works in NovaStar as well and the latter he hopes will follow in their footsteps.

- The Incredible Karazheem (Character): The Incredible Karazheem is everything Stephen wishes he could be – flashy, flamboyant, and creative. Where Stephen diligently and impersonally processes ore shipments and casualty reports from places he'll never see, Karazheem uses his magic and illusions to manipulate the world around him directly.

Reason why joined Iscardians (or played pathfinder VR): Stephen's life is boring, with a capital B. He's good at his job, and happy to keep doing it, but needs something more exciting than endless spreadsheets and numbers. He'll never hold a management position in his lifetime, but in the Iscardians, he has the freedom he can't get in real life.

1) I have something called "Blooded Arcane Strike" to get the auto-on effect during bloodrage.   I considered a permanent GMF+5> It'd be better if I could coordinate with another player to get it (in case it gets dispelled. I can pay them to reapply it)

4)Well the rope dart lets me throw it, stay 40' away with a distance enchantment, blast them with spells (like something you don't want to get close to?) then retrieve the dart as a swift action. Which is why I wentthat way OR it may let me spike them. go dragon, haul them into the air with it then pull it back and drop them...or use them like a living hammer :p (cuz they can't move but I can move them I believe)

4) Throw it to what effect though? Just for the Dimensional Anchor aspect side of it? Since the 'Anchoring' property requires a melee attack. GM Call -- but I presume they can't be moved at all while 'Anchored', though that could open up some neat uses as a buff... it says it doesn't paralyze them, just that they can't move out of their space. Again -- I totally see all the little benefits you're getting and I can see how this is a 'middle ground', I would just suggest you consider the real benefits of trying to have one omni-useful item.

+5 Distance Anchoring Phase Lock Weapon = 200,000
- vs -
+5 Anchoring Weapon = 98,000 (use Mythic Arcane Strike to add Brilliant Energy when Applicable -- otherwise add Bane for the additional +2 to hit)
Wand of Dimensional Anchor = 21,000
-- Cheaper to buy them as separate items, and Wand of Dimensional Anchor doesn't require an attack roll. It is limited, but you could by 5x/250 Charges compared to the cost you were paying before.

Zaer Darkwail

Yeah, need hit with weapon for dimensional anchor to land (as it's normally ranged touch spell anyways and if ray hits the effect sticks in). A wand (4th level) would be cheaper pick for same effect really unless using weapon for other stuff as well.

Lockepick

Oh, you're right. Dimensional Anchor does require a hit -- but it would be touch.

Though it's also Dex, where you can use Strength for melee... and since you can give your weapon Brilliant Energy -- maybe the big-bad-weapon IS better for you. Just up to you if it's 81,000gp better!

REally. wat i'm looking for is a good thrown weapon *since I get my rage damage bonus to it* and it seemed like a good option.. Though maybe there's better? I don't know all the weapon I can use

I really wanted something I could hook someone and drag them around or use them for a living flail. cuz that idea is fun. or simply nailing them down to eat a breath weapon

Snake

Yep :p

It's a fun spell. You can technically go all "sans" on them by smashing them into the ground, teh walls, or even defenestrate them by hurling them into the air and let them fall

Lockepick

That's a lot of checkboxes you want a single weapon to do. You could always make an item that allows Enemy Hammer -- or come up with a custom item that mimics it. There's no other known way to do what you want -- forced movement + paralysis + damage is a pretty nasty combo, even if it's a nice visual.
Like what you see? I am currently looking for new plots!
