Also, while im asking questions; Do you want me to use the proper Amulet of Mighty Fists? Or can i just use it like a normal weapon enchant? (ie, the Paizo version costs x2 and maxes out at effective +5 compared to enchanting a normal weapon. The 2x cost is fine since it covers both hands.. but i would really like to beable to fully enchant my munderfingers instead of having to stop at effective+5)

It costs twice as much because you can modify it with weapon enchantments. For example, my Advanced Half-Janni Monk wears an Agile Brilliant Amulet of Mighty Fists (Effective +5 Amulet).

Actually a bad thing.

Normal weapons have a effective max of +10, you normally get your +5 bonus, and then spend the other +5 on enchantments. This alltogether will cost you 200k. For two weapons it will cost you 400k.

But AMF maxes out at effective +5 (not 10) that costs 200k (as much as +10 would for a normal weapon), however you want to divvy that up between abilities and bonus, leaving it half as effective, for the same cost. You can get your full +5 bonus, or you can use enchantments, but not both. I dont mind the cost since as i mentioned AMF covers both your hands. Id pay 400k to max it out... but the fact is you *cant* do that since it cant go above effective +5.

the Bodywrap item allows you to give your fists a up-to +5 bonus (or enchants) as well, but it costs over 300k, and doesnt apply all the time.

So my point was i could pay 400k and dual wield effective +10 bastard swords all the time without burning a item slot... or i could pay over 500k and use up my Body Slot, to get two effective +10 fists sometimes.

Aaaaaand now the character write-up is done:

All that's left is spending the gold and figuring out followers/thralls.

It's not just your hands, it's ANY natural attack. [At least that's how I interpret the item]. So if I strike with my elbow I'm going to get all those enhancements. Plus, I don't think there are any rules for enchanting natural weapons. You'd have to talk with Zaer to see if he's got anything to offer. Because I'd be interested too.

Snake

I used a potion to gain permanent greater magic fang on my fists then an amulet of might fists to give a keen enhancement :3

*nod* But combining natural weapons and unarmed strikes is wonky. Youd need like... five of them to hit as many times as a level 20 full bab class can just from iterative attacks, and that doesnt include merged damage from things like Pummeling or extra attacks from flurry.

I mean, if we were lower level, I would be more interested since i could use Writhing Thrasher's mutation thing to get a few natural attacks for a few rounds a day, but at this level i dont see them competing with my iterative attacks.

Snake

Hence why I love my monk char, he's got a high enough strength and abilities to give him a very good chance to hit )yay for champion precision ability: +5 on follow up attacks on full-attack option :3 including the flurry of blows.)

Knarfy

Pockets, you are correct. That is how it works.

And it is in fact possible to just get a permanent greater magic fang on your fists. Not really even that hard/expensive. The only downside is that it can just be dispelled by a regular old dispel magic, and if that happens, you have to find that 20th level druid and 11th level sorcerer/wizard all over again :P

Even accounting for the 'service charges' though, it's still only 8,650gp per fist. It's really wrangling the casters to do it for you that's the trouble. 20th level druids are so cranky...

Of course, I happen to be a 19th level sorcerer and I do have permanency, so that part will be easy at least ;D

I'm sure I can find a level 20 Druid to Mind Control for a little while too...  ;D

One thing I do wonder:

How many over our Overlords would actually get along with each other?

Knarfy

Actually, that's a good point.

A level 20 druid cohort *only* costs like 80,000 gold, and that's if you don't have leadership. Heck, you could just buy a pocket wizard and druid for a meager 160,000gp, and then you only have to pay the cost of the materials for Permanency :P

Re: Snake

One thing to remember is that, at least up until game start, we aren't actually the character's. We're just a bunch of regular(ish) people playing dark/edgy characters in an MMO. We just pretend to be villains for fun. Now, some of the characters might *actually* be evil IRL too, but even then, we all presumably got along just fine for years before now.

Of course, it's possible that once the servers go down and we suddenly find ourselves inhabiting our character's bodies for real, that we might find ourselves suddenly feeling and behaving more like the characters actually are, but Zaer hasn't mentioned exactly how that transition is going to work mentally :)

I might just do that then. but aren't followers like that limited to level 10? Or Id id read that wrong?

Minions are limited to level 10 and NPC classes only.

Cohorts can go up to level 20 and have PC classes and can be upgraded to mythic tier 5.

Honestly the distinctions are kind of moot, since there's nothing (currently) that says you can't just have an army of level 1 cohort fighters at 4,000gp a piece. There may be some other secret differences between cohorts and minions, but Zaer hasn't really mentioned any yet.

I've changed my mind on followers a few times so far, but right now I have 100 10th level warriors with comparatively basic gear (the wyrmguard), 5 mildly geared 20th level mythic 1 half-dragon warpriests (the knights of tiamat), and one 20th level mythic 1 oracle with no gear at all. (Dragon's gotta have her princess ;D)

Snake

Well true enough.   I was going to make a cohort that's basically a lvl 20 tier 5 half-elf magus as a sidekick

Or a lvl 20 tier 5 support wizard or something to lay down carpet nukes or haste spells out the wazoo

Zaer & Knarfy: Thankies for the answers! That's all really thoughtful insights & ideas from you both! *@spinnies@* Thankies! And you've unlocked something new - I like the idea of having caster levels! I was wondering if maybe I could stack the simple Giant template on a Nymph (it's description does vaguely mention it can stack) to get a PC with both the monstrous B Movie themes AND a few class levels.

Elysium Titan's are CR 22! So they don't have much room. They are also paragons of good. Is that ok in our villian's guild? I mean, from an MMO view, having a Collossal Healer/Cleric PC who takes all the Aggro-
hopefully with a nice defensive build to suit it - does actually kinda work. *Espcially* if the other parties are all geared to fight evil villians! Their spells & smites won't work on the Titan at all...

Does that work? Or will that encounter the usual "Good & Evil mixed in one party" issues? I mean I love OOTS & 8 Bit Theatre, so... it's alright? Or should I invest that last CR into a "Ultimately Evil" template?

If you increase racial hitdice, do monsters with spell casting levels increase their spell casting at all? I assume class levels don't unless they are that spell casting class in particular. Specifically I'd like answers for both when a monster has the same hitdice as it's caster level & when these two differ (eg Nymphs have 8 Hitdice & Caster Level 7)?

Lastly, what sort of things do you do with mythic levels? I've never used them so whilst I can put something together, I'd just love a few thoughts on the kinds of cool things they can achieve... I'm putting up a pair of character sheets now for you to look over. But that's something I've only looked at once or twice & never with 10 levels at all...

It refers to your ability score vs the animal's ability score.

For example Bob has str 18. Bob becomes Bob the Bear Lord with a Dire Bear as his base animal. Dire Bears have 25 str. The higher value is used.

Bob the Bear Lord now has 29 str, because the Dire Bear had the higher str (25) and then +4 was added to that.

In practice however, most animals dont have very impressive stats. Your limited to Large animals or smaller (which is why i eventually ditched it, couldnt do the Tyrannosaur-themed Lord i wanted) so you might pick up a secondary stat or two, but the odds of them exceeding your main stats is pretty small... of course you can always min-max it by intentionally leaving one of your stats low if your happy with what your animal has. (ie, you could dump str and dex to -8 to get more points to put elsewhere, then simply take the Cheeta's 17 and 19 (then add +4). Though thats quite Cheesy.

The main value you get out of your animal though is usually its secondary stats and abilities. Cheeta's are pretty great in that respect; three natural weapons, 50ft land speed, Sprint (charging at 10x! your normal speed is pretty brutal), Scent (useful as hell) and so on.

Zaer Darkwail

Ouch, loads of questions.....but was well worth it to play as Brettonia to spank Archaon in my Total War: Warhammer campaign with charging him calvary charges over, over and over again and Leo diving on sky and owning all 3 chaos lords one vs one....

Quick question: How big is the footprint for the guild hall? I know the walls are 20ft tall and the keep is 3 levels above ground and 1 below, but you didn't give a number on exactly how large the whole thing is. I would be fine leaving it abstract, but it's gonna make a big difference in the cost for things like plating the walls with walls of force and the like depending on how big this place is :)

The blueprint is exactly 'vague' state. As exact size is to 'accomodate everyone' so counting all PC's and their minions having comfortable posh quality living quarters it expands the castle accordingly. But you can assume most likely it has standard keep size fit everyone in unless adding rooms, layers (dungeon floors underneath) or raise more levels up and form sort 'Sharn city of towers' sort appeal to the place (meaning several tall towers interlocking together and some even floating in mid-air). After all do remember you taunted entire MMO server attack your place to try raid it (and this MMO guildhalls could be raided and looted).

However difference is that minions need barracks (or they stand around) where as cohorts get their own rooms. Statically otherwise difference is in cost and that minions cannot get PC levels while cohorts can get. Also indeed nothing limits getting 100 cohorts. Cohorts simply as 'higher quality' minions basically and cost more. Minions are cheaper fodder to thrown in.

What comes to costs and such your correct that using adamantine can be more expensive than just layer everything with wall of force. But wall of force can be dispelled (dispel permamency) or disintegrate breaking it off as well (and it quickly ruins what lays under wall of force). Also wall of force once cast permament is fixed location; meaning if you place it on doors, then those doors never open. So good on walls perhaps but for gates you do need invest money on.

Might be a weird question... but does this take place on Golarion?

The MMO server was indeed placed in Golarion/following lore, but what follows after you get stuck on your chars? Who knows  >:)

Its kinda disturbing that out of all the monsters and part-monsters in this group, i think the human character im making is the scurriest.

Human Writhing Thrasher Brawler with Advanced the Implacable Stalker templates, who specializes in sundering, dispelling and intimdating/fear. Whos basically immortal and unstoppable as long as someone nearby fears her.

I think she may have been abit creepy even OOC for our guild. ;D

(which reminds me. Writhing Thrasher is okay right Zaer? I used it in another game we were both in, the pirates one, and you seemed to like it there. ^^ )

EDIT*
Writhing Thrasher, not Writhing Stalker, wow my brain today.

Your freak human is okay to join in ;). She is more monster after all than 'human' after all. Anyways on Amulet; I agree it's wonky in cost and on it's limitation. The cost is based on the fact amulet can be used on dragons who got 2 claws, 1 bite and 2 wing slams. So potentially 5 attacks with +5 bonus or enchants.

So I allow amulet of mighty fist upragded up to +10 but cost is same as +10 enchanted weapon x 4. It's expensive but it covers enchants to all various natural attacks (so if you go somereason form of kraken you got 8 tentacle attacks with +10 weapons :P).

Character sheet finished, minus magical items.

Great job! Almost done there :). Do remember besides yourself you can gear up your minions/cohorts (which you need pay but no need pay if they die and you get double number of cohorts based on what you buy for free).

One thing I do wonder:

How many over our Overlords would actually get along with each other?

Up to you, after all you all are gamers who just enjoyed playing villains in Golarion setting MMORPG. After you realize your stuck with your avatar bodies things may change (or not change).

Muse: As ChaoticSky told already it's between normal humanoid stats or animal stats. As mentioned you can purpose optimize for having worser stats as humanoid than in animal form (as animal form stats you cannot adjust anyway).

Kimmy: Well, Elysium Titan is presentative of good but it can be also for evil. The moral compass is entirely decided by players (so in MMO even if race says; always good, it does not apply to PC's behavior). Also Elysium titan CL as cleric is mixed; it's always 20 so not related to HD (it just presents prophet's innate divine power which is added in, they do not get 20 levels as cleric after all but eguivalent of one in sheer divine spellcasting).

But in regards to native spellcasting scaling with HD; unless the said spellcasting feature from creature says that xx creature has CL of xx class equal to their HD, then it does not scale. Example raksasha Maharaja has CL 18 as sorcerer but has 20 HD. There is no fixed ruling how native spellcasting improves (unless they are dragons) upon higher HD.

However if said raksasha takes levels as sorcerer then it stacks together (so raksasha Maharaja who is 10th level sorcerer has 20 HD as outsider and 10 class level HD as sorcerer and has CL 28 as sorcerer and gains feats based on total HD which is 30).

So if you want improve spellcasting as nymph, you need take druid levels. Or take PrC levels which progress divine spellcasting.

Kimmy

So my character Bio hasn't really changed. But I've got the start of a character sheet up now. And a fun story in pictures.

At first a Colossal PC was all fun - until the mods realised there was a issue with undisplaced mass when using
Change Shape
Of course, rival players copied the idea & made Titanic characters of their own, spoiling some of the guild's more artistic
efforts
And then there was the third party content pack that involved just a little too much realism in it's
'taunts'
pack...
And of course, rival guilds chimed in with more creative
methods
of raiding... Whilst Cherry occasionally misclicked whilst redoing her
inventory.
Which always gets the mods a little ... heated?
Of course, sometimes the stories are
sweet
& sometimes Cherry just liked her
Worst Ideas...
Then again, her bad ideas did help the guild in it's more
Diplomatic
areas...

A Quick Character Bio
Name: Something utterly cheesy like Cherry Kiss?
Race/Ethnicity/Gender: Female, European Ancenstry. She's slim, pretty enough & noticably short - something she tends to overcompensate in VR games with noticably taller ... & convienantly figured characters.

Occupation: Cherry lives in a family home. She doesn't pay much rent - but she does work at the local bar a few nights each week. She studied Environmental Engineering - only to discover the engineering boom had settled done by the time she'd finished. Still, she's happy.

2 sentences briefly describe yourself: Cherry offline is quiet, patient & considered - as if she was playing chess. Online she is an verbal emotional explosion into the mic with risky maneuvers & excessively dangerous gameplay. Cherry is often the reason Guild Raids go really well - & really badly...

Reason why joined Iscardians: Honestly, it was during a B Movie Marathon & Gaming that a mod introduced her to an Iscardian Representative. Somewhere between The Palace of the Hideous Mole Brain & Horror of the Hungry Fog Cherry decided they would be a good challenge - of course she'd have to create a new character. Something appropriately villianous to walk amongst their fabled halls. Something inspired as well... So Cherry spent the next few weeks playing her utterly hopeless diplomacy character, exploring the romance quests a third party content provider had added to one of the zones. If you romanced folk of position & title, their different races would unlock new character options. Most folk did these to get half-dragons & Half-Fiends/Angels etc. But you can try to unlock even rarer character options if you can hit DC 40s & DC 60s diplomacy checks. And if you know where all the right buffs and enchanted fountains are... And happen to have a high level cleric, mage & druid in the guild to borrow some spells from... Well, you can unlock some truly amazing things... And then you get to start again, with an entirely new character...

Of course, Cheery set her sights on the most ridiculous of options. Just so she could earn herself some very silly B movie antics... And maybe because she never quite got to play Titania in the school play...

Background: Cheery's mother died in high school. She was adopted by her grandparents, but as much as she liked them, she moved out into her mother's house as soon as she was able. She grew quite reserved after her mother died - only really showing her wilder nature online, away from the world. Taking up work in the bar, she was too reserved to be very popular - but she makes an alright living. She is bright - having a knack for pushing the VR systems. But then, she did do an environmental engineering degree. So pushing the numbers are kinda her thing.
She likes to hang out online where she can be anyone - and well, getting to be the villain is fun. Especially since she can be her own B Movie scene... Often she tries to set up guild raids (& even counter raids) to fit the awful plots of some new movie or other that she's found... Much to the delight & annoyance of everyone.

Titania's Quick Character Sheet
Name: Titania
Race: Elysium Titan
Templates: A CR 1 template will be added, to make them evil if required. Otherwise I'm tempted to add a single class level for weapon & armor proficencies. Something fun.

Oddball idea
- Because it exists, it must be suggested :P Lets play a titanic Slime Girl! Just add Bipedal and buy Change Shape as a Mythic power & you've got a bonefied Slime Girl! With Full Druidic casting levels like the Elysium Titan too! Just remember to make all her gear acid resistant... And seriously, the attacks on Living Lakes is insane if you want a power house!

But mostly, Titanic Shape Changing Slime Girl! All she needs is to invest some mythic powers into Slime like properties to be more webcomicy & farrrr less balanced!

Let me know if your world wants something fun & just a little bit more insane & I'll drum up a second sheet for consideration.

It's not finished, I know. But it's a gist. I'm trying to put together a defensive Aggro drawing MMO character that's still so much fun to RP. But I think I'm getting the hang of the new mythic rules.

HUh well I just need to finish my lead cohort and i'll be largely done. My char's more of wanting to be the more of a merc than a full blown lord though it'd be nice *laugh* But I'll add on a support cohort for magical aid and all. btw does Divine Sourcemean some NPC"s view us as an actual god? :P (since if they pray to us we provide them domain magic and all)

Oh man this is a pain having to account for everything and cohorts and all that mess. XD

but I think I got it; do we have to do full blown char sheets for the cohorts too or just an idea of what they can do?

Cuz i've got 2: one level 20 half-elf magus tief 5 and an advanced erinyes Ranger (CR 9 with 11 pc class levels)

Lockepick

Can I ask what the point of gearing up minions is...? I can't imagine you're ever going to roll for my thousand minions in a combat.  Anything they do will be abstract anyway... how does a +1 great sword really differ from a +2 dagger?
Like what you see? I am currently looking for new plots!

At that point it would use the mass combat rules from ultimate campaign  or hand wave it that we crush them effortlessly
