Yea, with some of the big group rule changes, that was one of them because it messes with the integrity/continuity of other people's writing. I used to do the same.

I already have something for altering the way that topics look on the forums to help me when I'm looking for one-on-one games.  It's called 'topic filters' and lets you hide, mark or highlight individual topics.  You just click on the icon on the far left of the topic and it pops up options to filter. I'm not sure if that sort of things would mark topics out well enough for what you want?

Hey, so, this doesn't work, i was really hoping it would but no even though i've hit ignore replies it still pops up in 'show new replies to posts' button. And when I click it, it eve shows that I'm ignoring the replies, it just still pops up there.

You are 100% right and I never realized because I only ever use the counter next to the shout box and the menu Replies rather than actually going in to the board's own replies section.  I think I can probably do something to hide topics in there that you've opted to no longer watch but I need to give it some thunks on how to best go about doing it :)

Will let you all know when I have a solution.

And here it is - v1.50.0 with a new option (on by default): "Hide unwatched replies".  It does what it says on the tin, hides replies that you have "unwatched" from the replies list :)

Update v1.52.0 is about to hit :)

I've changed the Snippets menu.  It works pretty much like it did before but with a slightly different menu appearance.  The main difference is that you can now have categories for your snippets :)

Just name your snippet something along the lines of "MyCategoryName__My Snippet".  That's with two underscores between category name and snippet name.  If you do that then your snippets menu will start to have submenus.  Great for when you have more snippets than you care to shake a stick at :)

I love how the styling makes reading dialogue easier, but custom colors don't work if used within quotations. I've had stories with multiple characters speaking in different colors, but the script styler makes them all the same. Is there a way to have formatted colors take priority over the script styling?

They should take precedence, so long as you switch on "Include quotes" and then put the color tags within the quotes.  I've done it a few times myself.  It means that the quotes get styled as per the script's speech-styling style and the text inside styles up via the colour tag.

I _might_ be able to do something that specifically detects colour tags in use and doesn't style speech within them, although that might have other side effects

Oh, that's how that works. Usually both my partners and I have used the quotations and formatting within the color tags, so it all gets colored (EX: [color=][/b]"text here") but keeping the quotes outside does keep the color. I'll just have to keep in mind that the quotes have to come before the color tag and see if my partners could follow along.

Adding color tags to dialogue is rare for me, so it's not a priority, but it's nice to know a decent workaround. Thanks for the quick response!

v1.53.0 is about to be released.

Two new items for this one:

   
• There's a new function that is on by default.  You can switch it off in Settings / Images / Click to Enlarge:  When on, you can click images that have been reduced in size and they will enlarge within their current context.  Click again to put them back to original size.
• There's a new option for snippets that is off by default.  You can switch it on in Settings / General Settings / Snippets context menu:  Basically this removes the snippets menu from the top of the editor and makes it right-click on the editing box.  I know some of you would prefer the default right-click menu there so that's why it's off by default.

Note: The second of these only really works if you edit/create posts in the code view rather than the rich text one.  I'm not entirely certain what that is but will try and figure it out for a later release.  If you want snippets and use the rich text / HTML view then don't tick the context menu option :)

With #2 do you mean a function to create a snippet from the currently selected text?

A trivial example would be a snippet like [i]*{selection}*[/i] that will turn the selected text into *text*.

Or [center][img padding=6 height=400]{clipboard}[/img][/center] that will insert and format a copied image url.

Also (relating to #1), in the past, editing a snippet would change its position in the list.  Is it still the case?

Ah - I see.  That could probably be done :)  As for editing changing list position etc, I've not changed anything in that code so it should probably still work.  The only thing about the new snipped code that changes ordering is that categories come before uncategorized snippets.

I was hoping it would be avoidable.  Changing positions interferes with habits.

I can certainly have a look at there being a configurable order to snippets.  Maybe with a choice of categories-first or categories-last and then an ability for the user to move stuff around within the categories and uncategorized area and stuff sticking in those orders?
