DWD: The Off-Season (Freeform Group)

Updated News (as of 6/17): Organized the DWD Current Roster in the Main Thread. It's organized by gender and player status, in case new players are wondering what the league "needs" in terms of roster power. Also need to improve the XP Rewards Chart's visibility, but it is still there in the References tab.

New Ability Tweaks as of 6/17/14

-Sex (Position/Situation) has been renamed and tweaked to prevent obscurity or vague terms where the R/H system can be exploited. Characters must pick a specific move or a position, not a vague situation. If you have this, be sure to revise it to keep it from being vague. I might have a list of choices that will expand later based on player desires.

If you want to join the DWD league, announce it here, make a character on here, PM me your interest or questions. Just as long as I know somehow, it doesn't really matter so much how. I only ask that you try to keep character discussion here and gameplay discussion (mechanics and feature suggestions) in the thread linked above. I would prefer for created characters to go here. Easier for me to keep up with. ;)

Also, if you are really interested in the game concept... please take a look at the Main Thread, occasionally (linked above). I update that fairly regularly and have polls going on. If you have a question about the game itself, like how fights are going to work (common one I've been getting lately), please ask there.

I have a special "pre-release bonus" kinda of thing mentioned on Page 2 of the main thread. If you want to make NPC's, feel free. I will reward players with extra cash and other stuff for up to 2 pre-made Player Characters and 2 NPCs. You can make more NPCs but I don't want to give too much advantage to one player. But if its fun for you to make more characters, feel free.

At the moment, I'm allowing Players to run two PCs (Player Characters) at once. If we somehow have a ton of players, then I might have to change this later and limit it to one at a time.

Apologies if there is a mess somewhere or if you have questions about a part of this process, ask me where you have problems and I'll answer them and  I'll clean it up on this post.

Character Creation, I. - Gender & Sexual Orientation
Gender: The choices for right now are Male or Female. I have yet to decide how I would balance mixed gender characters, and they are supposed to be rare in this world.
For right now, this is mostly aesthetic. Also, designate your character's sexual orientation. In my story, heterosexuals are still the most common. With bisexuals being the second most common. This may have slight fame implementation later, but for now pick what you want without worry.

Character Creation, II: - Core Attributes

Statistics
: All starting level one rookies begin with 20 points to spend between 5 attributes (Power, Body, Dexterity, Mind & Charm). Each statistic must be between 3 to 7. No stat must be below 3 or exceed 7 (unless they pick a Unique Trait that increases that score beyond 7).

By default, these attributes affect different things for a fighter. Although, certain unique traits (more on those in a minute) might change the importance of certain attributes:

Power is the overall strength and resilience of a fighter. It influences:

- Strike/Grab Attack Rolls
- Strike Damage
- Part of Throwing Damage
- Bonus HP (Hit Points) per level
- Grab/Defend Checks

Body represents the physical shape and conditioning of a fighter. It affects:

- Part of Hold Damage
- Part of Throw Damage
- Part of Starting Fame/Reputation
- Bonus ST (Stamina) per level
- Resistance Checks

Dexterity represents the agility and reflexes of a fighter. It determines:

- Defense/Dodge bonuses
- Escape Hold checks
- Initiative rolls

Mind represents the mental acumen, awareness and quick wit of a fighter, and it is useful for:

- Part of Hold Damage
- Part of Throw Damage
- Bonus CT (Climax Threshold) per level
- Bonus Training XP

Charm represents the personality and impacts:

- Ecstasy Bonus
- Part of Starting Fame/Reputation
- Bonus fighter wage

Character Creation, III. - Arts
Select 2 Arts. Arts are categorized as Fighting Styles, Standard Arts or Sexual Arts. At character generation, at least 1 Fighting Style must be taken as an art. They cannot put both points in the same art. They must be different.

Fighting Styles:

A fighting style is the character’s identity, both in specialty and in tactics. If a character wishes to add another fighting style to his/her arsenal, they have to improve their Variety. Variety naturally improves as characters gain levels. It can also be improved by spending money to expand their potential.

Bonus Per Rank (maximum Ranks = 5 per style)

Boxing:  +1 Strike/Grab, + 1 Strike Dmg

Capoeira:  +1 Defense, +1 Initiative

Kung Fu:  +1 Strike/Grab, +1 Defense

Muay Thai:  +1 Strike Dmg, +1 Throw Dmg

MMA:  +1 Strike Dmg, +1 Hold Dmg

Wresting:  +1 Hold Dmg, +1 Throw Dmg

Shotokan Karate:  +1 Strike Dmg, +1 Defense

Krav Maga:  +1 Strike Dmg, +1 Defense

Judo:  +1 Defense, +1 Throw Dmg

Brawler:  +1 Strike Dmg, +1 Initiative

GM's Note: Some might be reading this and wonder… why only static bonuses? Well, for a few reasons. I wanted to make each style give a different something without overwhelming new players. At the same time, it gives the player more room to role play the action and result instead of being restricted to certain moves. It also avoids a lot of big potential pitfalls in game balance. I don’t want one style to be more powerful than all of the others, but instead be situational. I might add just a dash of pepper on some of these styles to make them more distinguished, but for now I’m trying to keep it basic so that players are not overwhelmed.


Standard Arts

A Standard Art is considered any other special technique, discipline or skill that the player character knows that is not a fighting style, although it could be fighting related or sexual. For right now, this is limited in content, but I plan to expand on it as the game grows. I don't have much in standard arts, yet:

Trainer (Fighting Style) - Adds 5 xp per rank in Training fights when both sparring partners use the same style.

Character Creation, IV. - Unique Traits

Every character begins with one Unique Trait that makes them distinguished. Characters gain additional Unique Traits at levels 3, 6 & 9. Roleplaying is encouraged when possible to reflect some of these traits, considering these are also meant to provide a unique flavor as well as provide a practical effect in gameplay. You cannot select the same trait twice - a different one must be chosen at 3rd, 6th, & 9th level.

UNIQUE TRAITS

Captivating: You keep fans interested and hooked. Whether is due to looks, personality or ability -- You keep fans in the seats, even if you lose. ‘Captivating’ adds a +1 bonus to Fame after every fight outcome, regardless of the result.

Quick Initiative: You tend to know how to act first when the bell rings, due to training, situational awareness and focus. Add +2 to your initiative roll during the initiative phase.

Powerhouse: Adds a permanent +1 point to Power (max. 15)

Healthy: Adds a permanent +1 point to Body (max. 15)

Agile: Adds a permanent +1 point to Dexterity (max. 15)

Gifted: Adds a permanent +1 point to Mind (max 15)

Charisma: Adds a permanent +1 point to Charm (max. 15)

Lucky: Can stock and use 3 tokens per fight, instead of the usual limit of 2.

Retention: Gains +10 xp per fight, regardless of the outcome. This also applies to training/sparring.

Acclaim: Adds 15 career fights to the usual 30 career maximum, making it 45.

Tough-As-Nails:  Permanently adds +25 HP to character maximum.

Unstoppable: Permanently adds +25 ST to character maximum.

Survivor: Permanently adds +25 CT to character maximum.

Experienced: Permanently adds 1 level of experience (max 10). If taken at 1st-level during creation, continue creation process and then follow instructions on leveling up afterward.

Finesse: Character uses their Dexterity score as their strike/grab bonus, instead of Power.

Alluring: Character uses their Charm score as their initiative bonus, instead of Dexterity.

Saving Grace: Fame penalties of winning as a Goliath are reduced by 2, to a minimum of -1.

Class Act: If Character refuses to Rape/Humiliate their opponent, they still receive the fame bonus as if they had. This does not include R/H XP Bonus, however.

Public Sympathy/Apathy: If a character is a victim of Rape/Humiliation, they do not lose fame.

Fandom: Gives character an instant 10 points of fame.

Specialist: This character may add 1 additional rank to a single fighting style that they already know.

Enthusiast: This character may add an additional rank to a standard art that they already possess. This cannot be a fighting style.

Promoted Icon: This character does not lose fame for taking time to train.

Alertness: This character uses their Mind score as their bonus to defense rolls, instead of their Dexterity.



Character Creation, V. - Weaknesses
Up to 2 weaknesses can be added to your character for additional attribute points to spend, depending on the weakness. Note that weaknesses are OPTIONAL. A player does not have to select any weaknesses at all. I also won‘t stop players from selecting more than 2... But they cannot receive bonuses for more than 2.

Additional points cannot exceed 5, meaning that if you selected two weaknesses that would give you 6 points to spend… it would only be 5. This is to both limit potential in power-gaming and encourage choices that would be more beneficial to roleplay.

(Weaknesses need a bit of tweaking, though you are welcome to pick from them. On your character sheet it is important to add the description of what it does and how many points it gave you. Beside bonus attributes is a “Cure Cost“. This is how much money it would take (consider it therapy) for a fighter to remove this weakness, just in case a player doesn’t like it anymore or if they want to make it part of their personal growth in roleplaying.


Begging for It - Each turn, your opponents receive a +4 when reducing your Climax Threshold. Also, you have a -4 to break free when you are Locked in your opponent’s Sexual Art. If you have the Public Sympathy/Apathy trait, it automatically becomes “Public Apathy.”

Bonus Attributes: 3, Cure Cost: $3000

Extra-Sensitive Area (Area): Your opponents automatically receive a +1 when reducing your climax threshold when targeting this specific erogenous zone. This area must be specified at character creation and this weakness can be selected again for a different part of the body. Cannot be taken with Sensitive Body.

Bonus Pts: 1, Cure Cost: $1000

Sensitive Body: Your entire body is sensitive to touch, your opponents gain a +2 when reducing your climax threshold with any sexual move. This cannot be taken with Extra-Sensitive Area.

Bonus Pts: 2, Cure Cost: $2000

Attention Whore: Your needy attitude on social media, interviews and promos tend to grate on some outside of your loyal fan base. You receive -5 to starting fame and -1 to all bonus fame (to a minimum of 1).

Bonus Pts: 1, Cure Cost: $1000

Grand-Standing: You are a total show-off, to the point where your flash can get you in trouble. You have have to take your first round to taunt your opponent or showboat in front of the audience.

Bonus Pts: 2, Cure Cost: $2000

Feared Style (Style): For some reason, you are intimidated by users of a fighting style (chosen at character creation). Whenever you fight a character with this style, you receive -2 to all attack rolls.

Bonus Pts: 1, Cure Cost: $1000

Brilliant, But Lazy: You aren’t as committed as other competitors, in spite of your potential. You receive -10 experience points after every fight and training session. Note: You cannot take this if you have already taken Retention as a trait.

Bonus Pts: 1, Cure Cost: $1000

Fetish (Move/Position): If an opponent is using a particular move or position, they receive +2 when reducing your climax threshold.

Bonus Pts: 1, Cure Cost: $1000

Character Creation, VI. - Starting Token
Tokens are one use items for players to use to benefit their character in a given situation. These are not literal items that their character has in possession, but more of a behind-the-curtain “Ace-in-the-sleeve” for players. All tokens are one-use items that are considered “burned” and discarded on use. Players can stock and use up to 2 tokens at once (unless they have the “Lucky” unique trait, which increases the limit to 3).

All player characters start with one token at their disposal and can buy additional tokens for $500 each. A player must specify which token they are purchasing, including their free starting token. Tokens cannot be given to other player characters.

True Strike: Can be used once at any point during a fight. The attack used that turn is treated as a guaranteed hit, bypassing his/her opponent’s defense roll. This can also be used to connect with a grapple.  However, it cannot be used for anything else. Damage is calculated normally.

Hinder: Can only be used at the beginning of a fight. If a critical strike is made (a natural 20), it automatically stuns their opponent for one turn. The opponent cannot roll to oppose this as they normally would. However, they do automatically recover on the turn afterward. Once the critical strike lands, any other critical hits behave normally. It is considered burned on use, even if no critical strikes are rolled.

Immortalized: Can only be used at the beginning of a fight. Any fame penalties for winning a fight as a Goliath are reduced by 1, to a minimum of -1. Multiple tokens of this variety can be stacked, meaning that a Goliath can reduce his/her penalty for victory up to 3 points (with the Lucky unique talent). This does not affect experience rewards and prize money remains the same. Once used, the token is burned.

First Attack: This must be used at the beginning of a fight before the initiative phase. When used, initiative is set one point higher than opponent’s. Once used, this token is burned. If both players happen to use this token before the initiative phase, they both cancel out and burn. Standard initiative phase applies.

Outwit: This can be used once at any point during a fight. Once used, the fighter’s defense roll is treated as an automatic success. This can be also used to escape a successful grapple attempt made on him/her. However, it cannot be used for anything else. By design, this effectively cancels out the True Strike token. Once used, this token is burned.

Underdog: Can only be used at the beginning of a fight. Once used, fighting as a David provides a bonus +1 to Fame/Reputation, regardless of the outcome. Multiple tokens of this variety can be stacked, meaning that a David can boost his/her fame bonus up to 3 points (with the Lucky unique talent). This does not affect experience rewards and prize money remains the same. Once used, the token is burned.


Character Creation, VII - Finishing Up

For the following areas on the character sheet, input or calculate as noted:

Level = 1

XP = 0

Cash = $400

Starting Fame is determined by adding your Body and Charm scores together.

Career Fights Left: 30  (+15 to make it 45 if you have the Acclaim unique trait)

Strike/Grab = Your "To-Hit" with Strikes and Grabs. This uses a d20+ your Power score, unless you have the Finesse trait, for which its Dexterity instead)

Defense = Your defense roll. d20+Dexterity, unless you have the Alertness trait, then its Mind, instead.

Strike Damage = 1d4 + Power

Hold Damage = 1d4 + Body + Mind

Throw Damage = 1d4 + Power + Body + Mind

Ecstasy Modifier = 1d4 + Charm. This is used for reducing CT.

Initiative Modifier = Determines which player acts first. This is a d20 roll + Dexterity, unless you have the Alluring trait, then it is Charm instead. Add +2 if you have the Quick Initiative trait.

Starting HP, ST & CT:

Calculate your starting HP, ST & CT like so...

HP (Hit Points) = 50 + Power
ST (Stamina) = 50 + Body
CT (Climax Threshold) = 50 + Mind

ALSO make sure your fighting style bonus is added in.

Leveling Up to 2 (If you picked "Experienced" as a Trait)

Set your level to 2.
Set your current XP to 50 on your character sheet.
You gain 3 points to spend on attributes, only 2 can be stacked to the same one.
You gain 1 standard art, or a rank to put in one you already know

HP, ST & CT per level:

You gain your updated Power score in HP per level (after spending points).
You gain your updated Body score in ST per level (after spending points).
You gain your updated Mind score in CT per level (after spending points).

Sweetness. And no, it shouldn't be. That's going to be based on communicating between other players. I still intend to encourage players to respect Ons and Offs. Although if someone joins a Non Con game not expecting Non Con to happen... that's a different issue entirely. :)

Editing done:

Corrected the example sheet and blank sheet. There is a place to put tokens now.
Also, Kiki didn't have her HP, ST and CT calculated. She does now. She also has a token.

I plan to go over the whole thing and clean up where it's required, just to make sure it's less confusing.

I'll be reviewing characters accordingly.

Another thing I need to clarify,

The traits that substitute stat bonuses (Finesse, Alertness, etc) don't stack... they substitute the stat that is used as a bonus.

So Finesse swaps out for Power for Strike/Grab.

Also Faeli, your initiative should be d20 + Dex (My bad, I don't know where I got 5 from.)
