Mage: the Ascension?
« on: July 09, 2008, 10:13:23 AM »
I've written up an ad in the one-on-ones section for Mage: the Ascension, however, I would also be open to holding a game...I would, however, prefer to be a player than a story teller.

Look here for more details and drop me a line via PM or reply if you're interested in any of my ideas, one-on-one or game-wise.

Scroll down for game details!

Right! I am now very much willing to actually start a Mage: the Ascension game/chronicle here at Elliquiy...In fact, I really want to! I would rather not play the Storyteller but I will, if necessary, devise an entire setting and the beginning of a story line.

I would imagine that the maximum of players for this would be four or so. There would, preferably, be two males and two females but, then again, that's not a hard and fast rule. I'm just thinking that would be most fair and most appropriate.

Here are the slots that remain to be filled. I will edit it as any kind of responses flow in.

Storyteller: empty
Player 1: Barding/Dylan Russel - Virtual Adept.
Player 2:
Player 3:
Player 4:

I do think it would be nice to run a three or even two player (including ST) game, however, if that is all that's possible with the amount of responses I receive. I would be happy to perform this chronicle with only me and a Storyteller participating. Pretty much, what I am getting at is that it is all very versatile. :D

I hope to hear from you all soon! PM me or reply here with character ideas, chronicle ideas (for DMs) or simple volunteering for a place in this chronicle.

Thanks!

Ive responded to this under 'GM Wanted', but just wanted to make sure you knew.  Id be interested in playing Mage.  Wasnt sure if you wanted old or new system rules, Im assuming old.  Also, I can play a convincing female, if needed because the group is skewed toward males... being that this isnt 'tragicly self destructive super intensive vampires'... sometimes females dont find thier way quite so deeply into the World of Darkness systems.  Anyway... Im interested... if you want an informed player.  Thanks.  Keep me informed please.

Barding and I were hammering something out for a Mage the Ascension game.  He's on holiday right now, so it's kinda on hold til he gets back in a couple of days. :)

I'm back now.

As far as I know, Rhapsody and I are starting out our Mage game with a one-on-one-based experiment of a thread...It will pretty much evolve from there depending on levels of interest among the community here at Elliquiy. I feel that this concept of evolution will be rather appropriate in terms of realism as the characters come across all the more Mages.

This will be something like the coming together of a cabal or a 'roleplay group'...Just a long prelude. When we feel we've accumulated enough Mages and are comfortable enough in their skins, a game might begin.

Sound good?

Being a die hard Mage addict, and a female to boot, I would adore being involved in this game.  Sooo many character concepts I have yet to try out.  Rhapsody can vouch for my knowledge/skills if she wants  ^_^  No matter what though, colour me interested.

Hmmm... Chorister or Hollower?  (Or Nephandus!)

Hmmnn, either would be very interesting...A Hollower would hit off well with my character if this Hollower of yours was more experienced than my Orphan in terms of, well, everything :P

You have freedom..Still, don't look at me, I won't be STing.

Is there room yet in this one?  I'm a mage player from way, way back.  Always was my favorite game to play in the oWoD.  I'd want a clearer idea of the other PCs before I came up with a character concept, I'm relatively flexible about that anyway.

If you can handle the setting, I think we can handle one more. :)  We're not really that full at the moment.

The setting looks just fine.  It has been some time since I've played Mage, so I'll have to consider carefully.  Incidentally, are we using Mage 2nd, or Mage 2nd Revised?  I'm guessing revised, since you mention the avatar storm...

All of my books are Revised. It's the setting I know and like best. :)

Are there any books besides the core I should be paying attention to?  That is, are any open for use?

In my comparatively limited experience, the Book of Shadows would be useful, as would a couple of Tradition books, maybe for the sake of Paradigm help etc. Still, generally this setting is shamelessly non-canon and, as a result, few sourcebooks are a must.

The Book of Shadows is totally sweet.
