Drivers & PassengersPlease refer to the second post in the thread for availability and updatesGenre
: Although, it may be self evidet, this is an RP that revolves around the underground street-racing scene. At least half of the Playing characters will be drivers, the other half will be mechanics, love interests, enthusiasts, etc. There will be racing in this game, but it will be done efficiently. And, it won't be one race after another, the speed will come in even intervals. Expect constant explorations of love & sex, and wo/man vs. life drama. The Setting
I'm not sure what I want to do, exactly. California has almost everything, mountains, ocean, desert, cities, rural- bum-fuck nowhere, and everything in between. There is a clear dichotomy of my decision no matter where I decide to base the game, finally. In the end, we do have cars, and we can drive anywhere we want. But here's the thing: There are more things to do, more people and more opportunities in the city. On the other hand, there are better tracks to race your car on up north in Mendocino, and Humboldt County. In addition, there is also plenty of business to be done in North California, so being out in the wilderness doesn't make one poor in the world. Also, Shelter Cove. Holy god, look it up if you've never heard of Shelter Cove.
I'm thinking, one team in San Francisco/Oakland, another team in Humboldt county, basing their operations out of Ukiah... Still up for criticism and debate.Influence
: The Fast and the Furious, Gone in 60 Seconds, Need For Speed, Initial D, Drive(r) Redline, the cannonball run, etc. I see no reason to limit our ideas by slicing the entire RP into one style of driving, and one tone. Every character should bring their own background, and technique, so should every player bring his or her own style, and a preferred concept to storywritingSmut
: yes and no. I'd prefer there to be some kind of middle ground, story helps smut and smut helps story. Comedy balances drama, action balances exposition. We'll aim for light human small groups
. But that is subject to change.Size
: depends, I'd imagine that four or five players would be ideal, but if this gathers a lot of interest, we can adjust. Leading Concept
: This RP is drawing together a good deal of interest, so. This will most likely be about two rival street racing gangs. This is the idea: There are a group of white knight characters assembled at the beginning of the RP and a group of black knight characters. Each group is good at heart, but they don't have to be. There's nothing wrong with racing dirty. In every case, no matter how these characters have come together, they identify themselves as (2) group(s), and their life revolves around cars in some way. (car thieves, professorial stunt-drivers, mechanics, smugglers, street pride racers, or any combination of the previous).Aside from being street racers, either gang could also be a small group of gangsters with one or two drivers, the police with some hot shot drivers, and so on. Pull the game together with the 'damsels' in distress PCs, (girls/boys who don't drive, civilians who find themselves caught up in the drama). My role in this
: I will be Gming, as in, I will control every NPC, and design every setting, I will not have a PC. No matter what you all want to do, I will adjust and keep the RP interesting. I can filter requests and keep the experience as natural as possible while still maintaining a focused plot. I insist.
: I have an Initial D request in the solo request thread that passed by almost entirely without note. This is almost the same thread. However, I've broadened the concept, and I'm committing myself to the role of GM. That being said, I'm an Initial D freak, no doubt in it.
